Garbage Picking and SAVING TREASURE from the TRASH! We Found A Crazy Vintage Christmas Find!

hey guys welcome back to the channel welcome back to another Shiny Bright doggo original my name is Laura I'm Jan and we are in the car and that means one of two things we are either outside of the thrift store which I guess it doesn't really look like we are which must mean we are garbage picking we're going garbage picking so today is a garbage picking day it is a beautiful day if you're new to the channel and you have not seen one of our garbage picking Adventures we love going garbage picking Janine and I it's one of our favorite things to do in the spring and summer and when we go garbage picking we go and travel about an hour out from where we live and we go to an area where they do bulk garbage days every Sunday through the spring and late summer um we come up here with our dogs we drop them off at Janine's parents house um and yeah this area does not have a lot of thrift stores um so we find some really amazing things just put out for trash but a lot of people actually know about this book garbage day so we see a lot of families even other um Pickers and scrap metal people out and about picking so a lot of the stuff gets saved we pick up what we can as much as we can that makes sense for us personally whether to keep resell or donate um but we can't take everything you know we do this part-time so um we do try our best though to pick up everything that makes sense for us and we have a lot of fun even just showing you guys um it's one of I think our viewers favorite series to do so we try to come up here as much as we can and pick as much as we can out of the trash and we have found some crazy stuff in the trash here we found MacBooks we found blow molds we found World War II um photos and journals and we have found everything you could imagine so we're hoping today's a good day it's actually like 2:00 in the afternoon um so a little late to the game but people are still putting stuff out it's a beautiful day out so let's head out today in the trash I'm hoping to find some doggy steps for our dog because she hurt her back recently and the vet told us she's no longer able to jump uh or she shouldn't be jumping she can jump but she shouldn't be jumping maybe we'll find some doggy steps I hope so should we get a popcorn machine Janine we go with my gumball machine I wonder if it had a stand On It originally or something yeah okay I don't think there's a popcorn machine in our future so but that's pretty cool got some plush here I'm going to take a look Janine Yep looks like um you know kids kid plush some really nice dinos do you want a dinosaur she said yes I don't know if she's being serious we just kidding um Big Bird the dinos but this is like a kitty Dino and this is like a re looking Dino which I think Janine would be into little bear um there's some blocks big duck and um we have we we see a lot of parents actually families going out so I think we'll leave this out in casee there are families doing that cuz I'd rather go to a family than us trying to resell it or something maybe we could donate it but we'll make another round maybe if it's still here pick it up but for now I guess we'll just get the dino for Janine do you actually want the dyo yeah okay all right onward big pile over here um but you know it could just be a bunch of furniture there's this thing um we can throw Janine a birthday party I don't know this feels like flush maybe when we open things we always like close them put things back like we don't want to make a mess but sometimes we'll come across garbage piles and it's like clearly somebody's been like rumaging through like this is gross I'm going to tie it right back up um but we try to keep things as clean as possible but I don't think there's anything really here I'll poke around and let you guys know but otherwise we're going to continue going just spotted a huge like Funko Pop in the middle of the roof she in the middle of the road she's like is it in there like there's no way it's in there I doubt it's in there if it's in there we hit the jackpot but it's not going to be in there imagine if it's in here no it's empty it's totally empty right it feels empty I'll open it but I doubt it it was empty imagine if that Pikachu was in there you have to check that's the thing because it could be in there we found some crazy stuff while garbage picking and something like that could actually be in that box that's true but it was not um we have some garbage bags but unless the house looks like old or I mean sometimes we we'll go pokeing in garbage Pags but I like to see old boxes that's my favorite thing cuz and you're like hm are there Ceramics in here I have to go check because I see a little frog lawn Decor oh there a lot of frog lawn Decor oh that would go up there it's broken but I could oh it's broken there I was going to say I could paint it that was all broken yeah they're all broken it's a shame if that one wasn't like broken where it was I would take the little broken like if this one if this one wasn't broken there I'd take it and I repaint it and I'd put it in my little garden but yeah that's broken too broken for me so there's a bunch of frog like lawn Decor yeah but they're all broken oh I'm sorry so up yeah the only reason I'm going to poke in this box is because it's old this house is like old mid-century oh it's like empty um midcentury dream home so maybe there's a mid-century dream something in here A bunch of packing peanuts is there nothing in here there's nothing in here guys H the disappointment it could have been filled with vintage Christmas Ceramics no there's nothing in here so deceiving a bunch of like packing peanuts I was like I'm sorry what if there was like a whole Tower in there I know like you put your hand in there you're like rifling through and you pull out and it's like one whole Tower star I'm M stop stop I would have lost it been so excited I would have dropped it yeah but it would have fell into Packy peanuts if only Janine just picked up from that corner right there a little you open the trunk jewelry box yeah um it looks like it might have had like a mirror on top I want to take a look at it because there's actually stuff in it what do you mean there stuff in it it's a old locket oh cool there's like jewelry in here oh I'm jealous can I look yeah we look together look this is like a star David y yeah this is someone's like I saw some stuff open and it was like Jewel wow look at that old costume jewelry maybe and oh cool we saw that but oh my goodness have to is this a ring an ear oh no it's a necklace we'll the drawer yeah we'll have to look at this the now yeah okay sorry nothing's oh a little hair clip pretty oh wow great find J she opening another one just one last drawer one last drawer nothing we kind of we do end up doing all that I want to put this down like this though okay oh look it has a mark on it too it's made in Japan Janine I wish I had the top thing you probably had a mirror um but this is really cute and pretty I might maybe we'll use it yeah you could even replace these right yeah I sure I could buy like similar ones online very cool got a little pile here um but I don't know if there's going to be much in here wires nothing that we are interested in some old toys a duffel bag an old duffel bag and this big book of geographical Atlas some 25th anniversary decor and safety goggles and CDs lots of CD ROMs blanks are you interested in any uh 25th anniversary decorations blank CDs or an atlas no not yet okay and this is not the spot for you all right guys we've got some things here we've got some ghost buckets um which are interesting and are from whoops uh I don't know when they're from they're newer though and hat but what sort of intrigued me were all these books over here looks like somebody was studying for the elsat yep yep and the SAT and the ACT uh Mega puzzle games [Music] soccer what other books do we have we could just pick up and donate or sell this whole pile of books even interesting a lot of like study books though for like the ACT oh okay that to Janine medieval tutor drama squirrel squirrels perfect for Janine's mom two exciting things um excited I don't even scoobydoo for you and for your mom a squirrel book oh she loves squirrels so that's sort of fun there was also some clothes here um like soccer clothes but I don't think I'm going to pick that up um and I think that's it it's an example of a trash picker got the whole setup there for uh garbage picking tell jine that's what we're going to have soon one day what we're going to have like the thing hitched onto the back of the car soon just came across a bunch of formula which was really exciting cuz like you know formula is very much uh in demand I guess and this expired June just now like June 1st 2023 so we're definitely not going to pick it up but that's too bad that would have been great got this big pile over here little Carnival toy thing Christmas tree a drum set another Christmas tree we actually just got a used Christmas tree oh look at this some uh mats custom fit wonder if these were ever used doesn't really look maybe a little bit look custom F oh wow car mats car mats H which I think sort of nice think there's anything in there no and this nice dresser got the dove tails and everything definitely older oh another Christmas tree so if you need a Christmas tree I guess this is the place to come big basket nice handle yeah some of those baskets can be worth a lot but yeah it's broken interesting all right big pile here got one of those cool IG glue uh coolers it has an ant on it is it it means there a bug on it very cool um looks like there might be some stuff here guys maybe maybe not candle for Windows light sets for Windows I swear of want to look at that clowns and MK from China closet what is this oh like a back brace all right I'm going to need two hands oh look there's a bunch of uh there's more Pyrex remember we found all the Pyrex uh baking dishes that's a great find oh there's a Santa here sleeping Santa hello all right I'm going to get my two hands and then see what we can find to a camera looks like it or something I sort of like that you want it yeah I wear bags like that and then I opened up this and it's Christmas look at this Christmas plates and napkins so that's sort of cool with the cups too um um these nice bacon dishes they're great in here penguin Little Penguin painting all the different place mats oh look at that my God the dogs my coloring book oh yeah look at all these off GI Joe oh cool cool cool what Christmas wait I'm going to grab these you need find the whole Alpine set yeah I need your help all right I'll help you heavy oh yeah this is really heavy I can't oh look Janine I know I'm trying to oh wow that I should I have my gloves let me let me get my gloves on guys I think this one says Christmas let's see really nice strainer I think going pistas it's a really nice older rolling p these are the um what is this called coloring books I picked up I just opened this but look what's inside oh my goodness little miniature like light blow molds look Janine oh good look at that are you serious look how cool these are older I've never seen those before a whole set some of them might be a little broken but on yeah just take the whole [Music] box look at her she's older talking tots yeah it's Greatest Dad number one for me dad I love you a picture pH what yeah there's no um no Christmas in here there's a really nice strainer Nice metal strainer um look at her oh wow talk and tots wow guys shine when's the last time we found blow molds in the trash it has been a while which way should I go I don't know which way to go oh my gosh and they were like not just like the big candle blo molds there were these little tabletops T top ones I've never seen before no like as a set oh my gosh and we asked him if we could look through it and she was like yeah thank you for asking oh that's so exciting got a little pile here these uh chairs chairs are always good I don't know why I'm saying that we don't have any not like we use them but there's chairs for sure here some shoes painting supplies ooh Crayola crayons well colored pencils and uh some painting supplies some construction paper oh cute maybe Janine would be interested I don't know and then papers a some children's books burn stain Clifford Clifford Clifford Clifford code world history reviewing chemistry I think Janine's coming out oh a doggy pool oh my gosh no doggy steps I don't think but there's a doggy pool so this pile has Halloween older Halloween too I like the uh cute yeah that's great little steaks and then the little ghosty got too this is cute my mom went like that that is cute yeah these are like the plasticky kind you know yeah nice we got some uh Halloween stuff yeah she was very nice yeah what did you just find really gross pile really gross like Power Rangers Power Rangers yeah dirty dirty old though from the '90s from the 9s now I want to go out and look and see I have uh garbage fomo I felt fomo you're not going to take them they're too gross no I was trying to see how old this creepy crawler machine yeah can't I can't tell I think it's a newer one but uh yeah interesting there were some clothes here but they look like potentially moldy um clothes in there blocks all broken up that just cetch we spotted some fun some fun looking things over here those fun looking things being some books and a little shopping cart and a little tiny shopping cart the shopping cart to shop yeah but no there's a good amount of uh books here maybe car maybe not incredible cross sections Ziggy giant Ziggy uh card or some posters I think it's a poster oh there a few zgy posters oh you want it we can't leave it could leave it but I mean Ziggy that's cute yeah we got to take that all the same they are all the same I think so books mythology snowman magic Maisy love Maisy more mey Chicken Little I guess that's it yeah yep all right guys we are back home in New Jersey and we have a bit of a haul now we didn't find a ton of stuff but I think what we found is really cool really exciting and it was all free cuz it came out of the trash so I first saw the lawn with the ghost and he's a little dirty but he's not in too rough condition too rough shape um the cat is actually a little bit rougher but these are like from the ' 80s 990s you know they're just like fun nostalgic like how could we leave these yep they are true vintage Halloween goodness and I'm so glad we saved them there's still life in these and um they can still be enjoyed Janine found this really cool egloo cool cooler in the classic pink yellow and teal color white right from the 9s it actually has this like basket inside of it or something it says the picnic basket I've never seen this insert um before on a cooler so cool pretty cool just needs a yeah just needs a bit of cleaning and then that'll be uh good as new and be able to be used I'm sure it works fine so it was really exciting when Janine found on this jewelry case and we took out everything that was inside of it and we've got quite a little bit of costume jewelry here yeah I was surprised that there was actually so many necklaces in there yeah we got some necklaces these really cute earrings and it's all vintage um these were really cool too they're like um I guess souvenir little uh Kaleidoscope looking things where you put a picture in the end and you could look through them so that's pretty cool and we even or Janine even found this um portrait this locket yeah very interesting definitely older pretty cool and the case itself is made in Japan so it's a really nice piece Janine said she might uh fix it up right Janine I might look for some replacement uh drawer poles because it is really nice and um you know why not fix it up it definitely a fun find I found this little bag which at first I thought was a camera case but it has these like sort of holders in it so I don't think it's that it's by a company called co-star you can see right there maybe binoculars Janine thought but I just liked it as a little bag so that was fun found three vintage coloring books including this GI Joe one that's so cool which is pretty cool I think they have been used but still pretty cool in good condition we got Ziggy and I couldn't leave these Ziggy posters behind to be tossed in the trash they're so cute um these we might just donate you know but couldn't have them end up trash crashed so Janine found an almost complete set of plastic Alpine Village houses these are from the '70s late' 60s um I think the only thing is that this one is missing sort of its frame yeah I couldn't find it still we have a really nice little set here Janine can you believe that yeah it's amazing to have found these and rescued them in the box with the Alpine Village we found these little people I think they're little people they're definitely vintage we even have the mom here which oops she is wooden mhm so this is really cool I don't know if it has any resale value but in any case we'll donate it all right guys the moment we've all been waiting for is to see these blow molds in this box jeene and I have not really looked into it we do know that they are smaller candles which you'll come across the big candles and those aren't really worth too much um just because they're so common but these little tabletop guys are really exciting so let's see what's in here wow that's so cool oh no did somebody clip the cord so wow look at them they are really cool this one's a little broken but here it is it says Noel in the bottom wow what a great piece wow those are amazing they are so nice and you know very easy to replace light cords and fix up blow mold it being broken is not great but I mean it's not a huge breakage for that one I don't even know how many are in here Janine yeah I know we didn't count did we no let's pull them all out and see wow guys so take a look at how many there were in the box there are nine of them here only one of them is missing it's flame there's one here with significant damage but even with that it's still very displayable and we just did a little bit of research these are made by beo I believe it is B Eco o not to take you guys down a rabbit hole or get really complicated but I was actually like editing this video and looking at the tops of the candle blow molds they are definitely not beo boo I actually went on blow mold.com and these to me look like the Empire um unpainted candle so I can't say with 100% certainty I actually didn't look at the candles to see if it's marked Empire they usually are if they are Empire but um yeah I think these are Empire I don't think they're uh so that's all um and they are the tabletop variety they're probably from the late' 60s early 7s these are a little harder to find they're not the ones that say Noel down the front um so it's definitely a rare find to find nine of them out of the trash we're super say no though yes I mean the smaller ones that say Noel down the front um these are definitely different they're really cool unfortunately all the cords were clipped by somebody um but they're easy to replace place and we're just glad that uh they were still there for us to find so this is such a fun great find amazing it's been a very very long time since we found blow molds in the trash M um we found some great blow molds in the trash but it has been I'd say like at least a year maybe two since we found any Christmas blow molds in the trash so this was great um we might resell resell these maybe keep one or two but thank you guys
