universe now yo what up what up everyone teh here and a long video today so I hope you'll stay till the end because we have a lot to cover and today because I've gotten so many topic requests to discuss this we are going to talk about Galactus in the MCU but first before we get to all of that please subscribe if you are a fan of Marvel and the MCU and as I mentioned in the last video we are also going to be covering some other topics besides Marvel in the MCU so working on that but please subscribe if you're into Marvel in the MCU because that's still most of what we talk about here and you can check out past or recent videos linked in the description down below and also if you would like to like and share the video that greatly helps the channel and tells that pesky algorithm that people are enjoying the content and all of that so like and share if you like okay so today we are going to talk about the MCU the comics Galactus Silver Surfer and Thor love and thunder and some of the other MCU films in phase four and phase five because there's been various rumors and unconfirmed reports that Galactus is introduction into the MCU is coming soon and could potentially start with Thor 4 there's been a lot of rumors about that stuff now I don't put too much stock into rumors and supposedly 'kz so I'm not going to really be talking too much about those but Galactus does have a long history being tied to Odin and Thor and the Thor comics and while Galactus is first comic appearance was in the Fantastic Four I believe issues 48 and 49 it was actually several years later in Thor issues 168 and 169 that we got Galactus his origin story so while I doubt that Galactus will be the main villain of Thor 4 I could definitely see Thor 4 and also Doctor Strange 2 and guardians of the galaxy vol 3 all playing a role in setting up Galactus for a full on villain of in phase 5 you know the same way movies like The Avengers guardians of the galaxy and thor ragnarok all set up Thanos for infinity war and Avengers endgame so let's get into all of it and we will start with a quick overview of Galactus origins from those old Thor comics alright so like I said it was in Thor issues 168 and 169 that Marvel revealed Galactus --is origin story and this origin story takes place in the previous universe and this universe is dying more specifically it is contracting into what is called the Big Crunch and when this process is finished it will give way to a big bang that will birth a new universe so Galactus is from the previous not just universe but the previous multiverse and at this time he is a cosmic Explorer named Galan from an advanced world called tah and this is the most advanced civilization of its time and like the rest of the universe tah is on the verge of extinction due to the collapsing multiverse and as the collapse neared gallon and a slew of still living members of table were aboard a starship piloting towards the nexus of the dying universes like the event horizon of the dying universe and as they approached this all on board the ship perished from the extreme radiation all except Galan who could feel this new lifeforce building up inside him then he hears a voice in his head and this is the voice of the sixth Infinity the sentient embodiment of this dying multiverse and this voice proposes a deal to Galan that while yes both of them are about to die they can merge together and be reborn in the next universe as a powerful entity of like no other and so they merged together into this cosmic egg where the Big Crunch is all you are where the universe is collapsing into its collide seen into this cosmic egg and while in this cosmic egg they form into this new entity well the rest of the universe kind of is forming around them at the same time then eons later Galactus comes into existence in this new universe and to give you a little connection to other cosmic beings this is the same time that entities like eternity and death were also coming into existence so he's coming into existence in this new universe he does that to chill for a little while in an incubation chamber but eventually Galactus is truly born and of course he is hungry and he starts to feed on planets in the universe and he uses the planetary remains of one of these planets to build his gigantic world ship which he names ha - now there is also the powerful energy that fuels Galactus and all of his cosmic abilities and this is called the power cosmic which it can be explained in different ways but this is like the power of the previous multiverse the power of reality and the energy of the power cosmic comes from the astral plane and the main wielder of the power cosmic is Galactus but it's also been possessed by the likes of Doctor Doom and the High Evolutionary among others and when Galactus creates a new Herald he imbues a small fraction of the power cosmic into them and on that note let's transition now into briefly talking about the possibility of the Silver Surfer in the MCU okay so like Galactus there's been swirling rumors and reports about Marvel Studios working on plans to introduce Silver Surfer in the MCU but again this doesn't mean too much there's just rumors don't mean a ton however that said I do think it's very likely we will soon see the Silver Surfer in the MCU because Kevin Feige and multiple directors have all spoken about wanting to bring Silver Surfer into the MCU specifically and more recently Adam McKay and the Russo brothers now the Russo brothers spoke in a recent interview about their next MCU film and what that film will be and what characters it will revolve around and possible characters they mentioned included the Silver Surfer Fantastic Four and the x-men and they also mentioned that they would like to do something big and cosmic but the one who has really been very vocal about wanting to bring the Silver Surfer into the MCU is director Adam McKay and Kevin Feige who was friends with Adam McKay has been vocally open to this idea the way he talks about it it kind of sounds like Adam McKay is a director that they would love to work with so they would probably let him do any idea that he really wanted that's kind of the impression you get the same way Kevin Feige talked about Maher xolali wanting to do blade and it's like okay well we'll do Blade since he wants to do blade that's the impression I get when Kevin Feige talks about Adam McKay in the MCU and Adam McKay has even hinted that a Silver Surfer movie may already be in early stages of development with Marvel Studios and in an interview that Adam McKay did and this was a little while back but in one of the interviews where he was talking about his love for Galactus and the Silver Surfer he specifically mentioned that he loved the silver surfers origin story which you could not do without including Galactus and if you're not familiar the Silver Surfer was originally a man named Norrin Radd and long ago Galactus came to consume his home planet zenn-la and in an attempt to save his planet Noren made deal with Galactus that he would become his servants and seek out other planets for him to consume if Galactus spared his planet and Galactus agreed to this and imbued him with a small fraction of the power cosmic and made him his Herald now obviously this could be covered in a brief flashback of a movie or it could be covered in different ways but just because Adam McKay talks about wanting to include this in a Silver Surfer movie it doesn't mean the whole movie would have to revolve around that because we know the MCU tends to avoid stereotypical origin movies at least these days they did it before but these days they try to take a different approach but anyways I'm planning a separate video that I've already gotten a bunch of notes written out for where we are going to talk about the cosmic MCU after guardians of the galaxy vol 3 and in that we will also talk about Silver Surfer and Fantastic Four so we're gonna talk more about Silver Surfer soon but I just had to bring it up because you can't really talk about Galactus and the MCU and not mention that the Silver Surfer may also soon be entering the MCU and that there's these directors that are specifically mentioning wanting to bring him into the MCU so yeah but anyways now let's move on and talk more specifically about Thor love and thunder and other phase four films that could lay the groundwork for Galactus in the MCU thing as possible with Marvel who is the star of Thor 11th under like who is it is it not only is it Chris she's in it okay so first off I just thought I would add that short clip of Taika Waititi confirming that Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson will be the main character of Thor 4 as it just seems pertinent since we are discussing Thor love and thunder and discussing the potential plot of that movie it seems pertinent to point that out but we'll come back to the Thor in just a second now I want to talk about the MCU films or Disney Plus shows that could set up hints hats and maybe even reveal Galactus in the MCU because I expect that with a villain of Galactus his caliber that Marvel Studios would want to build him up a little bit the same way they did with Thanos in movies like The Avengers guardians of the galaxy and Thor Ragnarok I think I mentioned that earlier now realistically we probably wouldn't get a big appearance of Galactus until phase 5 in the likes of a Fantastic Four movie or a big cosmic event Fillmore Silver Surfer something like that but like I said we could get hints at or maybe even a brief appearance of Galactus in films such as the Eternals guardians of the galaxy vol 3 the what-if series and the Loki series and Thor love and thunder and even Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness now some have suggested that the Eternals movie could set up Galactus due to the Galactus vs. Celestials conflict that happened in the earth X comic book storyline but that is a future universe 9:97 storyline so well I could see the elements being adapted into the MCU from that I doubt it will be in this first Eternals movie maybe they could adapt elements of that story in another future movie or show but I doubt that'll have too much bearing on this first Eternals movie however Kevin Feige and Kumail Nanjiani have suggested that elements of the Eternals movie which will likely appear in flashbacks will serve as an origin story for the universe in the MCU and with Galactus being one of the oldest beings in the universe along with entities like the Celestials and eternity it seems like the perfect movie to drop at least a Galactus Easter egg or reference so then there is also Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness which might seem an unlikely option but to clarify it's possible that this movie could be the first to explore the concept of the power cosmic because as far as we know Doctor Strange too will be the first MCU film to go in depth on the concept of the multiverse it's also likely to include the astral plane which we saw in the first Doctor Strange movie and both of those elements are the foundation of the power cosmic and that doesn't just tie to Galactus because with the Infinity stones no longer existing in the present-day timeline of the MCU you could see Marvel Studios looking to introduce a new powerful source of energy or something similar to the Infinity stones and like I mentioned earlier the power cosmic has been wielded by the likes of Doctor Doom and the High Evolutionary two characters we are likely to soon see introduced in the MCU so setting up not just Galactus but also the power cosmic could set it up for characters like doom or the High Evolutionary to get that power in a movie later on down the line so yeah anyways now let's get to Thor now the reason Thor love and thunder could potentially set up the introduction of Galactus is partially because his origins are tied to Thor comics and like I mentioned earlier Galactus has this very detailed long history with Odin Thor and II as guardians earlier I mentioned that we got the story of how Galactus came into existence in Thor 168 and 169 and how in that story the previous universe was collapsing into this cosmic egg that would eventually birth a new universe with Galactus along with it well a similar concept was revisited in volume 1 of Matt fractions my teeth or run from 2011 and 2012 and this story took place at the same time as seed was happening in the Marvel Comics and I think this story has some aspects to it that will be adapted into Thor for maybe not specifically but just elements for instance in that story like in the current state of the MCU where new Asgard has been relocated on earth the same is basically the case at this time in the comics with Asgard located in Oklahoma and also a big part of this story is that the governments of the world are not happy about the Asgardians living on earth and this is something I definitely think we will see explored in Thor 4 anyways so this story revolves around the world egg aka the Galactus seed or the world heart and this cosmic seed is said to have been created by eternity to birth the next universe in the cosmic cycle it's an artifact that carries on and is reformed with the death and rebirth of each universe and Odin's father Bor found this cosmic seed long ago and placed it within the roots of Yggdrasil the world tree which we know is the Asgardian mythos for the universe and the creation of all things anyways so now all these years later Thor and SIF go down to retrieve this cosmic seed from the roots of the world tree and this catches the attention of the Silver Surfer who is alerted by the incredibly large energy signature it puts off so Silver Surfer comes to earth comes to Asgard and sees the Asgardians have this seed and he tells them that the cosmic energy within this seed is so strong that if it's given to Galactus he would never have to consume another living planet ever again it would basically tide him over for forever but Odin refuses this request from the silver surfer and thus Galactus comes to earth and there's this all-out battle between Galactus Silver Surfer and Olive Asgard and the story concludes with Loki sending the seed back down into the world tree so yeah it's a really cool story but anyways I'm going too long on this and there's still one more Thor Galactus story that I want to cover and that is the Future story of King Thor written by Jason Aaron which we know that Taika Waititi took a lot of influence from Jason Aaron's god of thunder comics series when he was directing Thor Ragnarok and that also tyka is adapting from Jason Aaron's Mighty Thor series for Thor love and thunder but I suspect that Tyco will also adapt in elements from Jason Aaron Scott of thunder and unworthy Thor into Thor love and thunder as well but we'll talk about that more in a separate video anyways this story is the final chapter in Jason Aaron's god of thunder run and it is called the last days of Midgard and in this story it's jumping back and forth from what's going on with present-day Thor on earth and the future Thor also on earth and this story is really centered around Thor's love of Midgard and the story starts off explaining that there are dead worlds all over the universe and present-day Thor is reading through these books that Chronicle all the dead worlds in the cosmos and he got these books from the halls of all-knowing and he's reading these because he wants to make sure that this same fate doesn't befall earth we then jump forwards thousands of years into the future to see Thor and his three granddaughters the goddesses of thunder or the girls of thunder and this version of future King Thor is awesome he's obviously come to resemble his father Odin missing one eye and also missing an arm which is now replaced by the destroyer arm and he also wields both Mjolnir and the odinsword he can also now summon the power of the force but at this time it is now called the Thor force and he can use this to direct these giant blasts of energy anyways so future Thor and his granddaughter's returned to earth and he sees that his worst fears have become reality that earth is just another dead world and then they see Galactus and even though earth is basically in its death throes already Thor will not allow it to go down without a fight but Thor also knows that he and his granddaughters are not powerful enough to defeat Galactus so he sends his granddaughters and tells them not to come back and he basically knows that he is not powerful enough to defeat Galactus so his plan is to die protecting earth and this story really does have an awesome conclusion so Thor's granddaughters do end up coming back to help and Galactus blast Thor light-years out into space and when Thor awakens in space instead of flying back to earth he then flies in the opposite direction to the far depths of the universe to find this black mass which is the all black and he goes inside to retrieve the necro sword and fun fact the necro sword and the all black was the influence for Helles powers and her swords and thor ragnarok anyways so Thor is now consumed with the all black and he returns to earth as Thor the destroyer and he ends up force-feeding Galactus with the all black to defeat him and save Earth and from drops of Thor's blood the earth is replenished with new life and starts spreading green vegetation all over it and it's all good again everything's all good all these years later Thor has replenished the earth with new life and it's you know it's a nice it's a nice ending but this story is awesome I couldn't do a video talking about Thor and Galactus and not talk about that story but anyways before we go let's take this back to the MCU for a second one aspect of what we were just talking about here that I think would be really cool to adapt into the build-up of Galactus in the MC you could tie into Thor's space travels with the guardians so what if in this time in space Thor and the Guardians start coming across and discovering all these dead decayed planets and it's this big mystery to them and they are terrified at the aspect of some primal force powerful enough to not just erase the living species on these planets but to actually drain the planet itself of its life force and they don't know what's causing it but we the audience would know it means that Galactus is coming and I just think you know who knows if that'll happen it's just something I thought of but I think that would be a very cool way to kind of build up to and hint at Galactus so yeah anyways we've been going I I know I always say we've been going on long enough but this time we really have been going on way too long so you know the drill please like and subscribe please share the video it's big help you can check out other recent videos linked in the description down below I kind of get on these tracks where I start doing one video and then I want to do more videos about that so I'm gonna be doing more videos on Thor love and thunder and also guardians of the galaxy vol 3 and the cosmic universe because you guys know that's the stuff I really like to talk about come hit me up on Twitter I almost forgot to say that come hit me up on Twitter with topic requests and questions or whatever just say what's up it's all good and yeah I will be back soon thanks everyone [Music] [Music]
