pen Brian it is such an honor I know not only for myself but all of the athletes that are here we're being embraced we're in this very powerful city of Hiroshima that a lot of people have heard throughout the world obviously in world war ii it's known for being a city where the atomic bomb went off and then from then on all of the peace the love the compassion for the rest of the world they've been leading by and they've been showing that respect of all of our athletes out here who are excited to be for our first stop of our feast world series take a look at that beautiful course with something that is very unique out there what is missing on this course yeah it's very I mean we're taking a look right now as we're seeing all of these transitions we're seeing so many different hips different corners and turns so it's definitely instead of a traditional Park course you've got your features such as that slam wall ride you definitely have your sub boxes out there but the thing that's separating our course from our courses of our paths that we've had is the fact that there is no traditional box jump feature out here fils going all the way back from the first competitions in pala vos has always been known for having a massive box jump it's been a signature of peace well the fact that we do not have a center piece that's a box jump you can actually see that the centerpiece is a spine and then also a three directional hip with a landing out there is going to make for such an exciting course any competition out here I mean that's what exactly what splits up the riding diversity amongst athletes out here they're going to really have to dig into their bag of tricks and see how they can dissect this course in particular because like you said it's not a conventional BMX park course for them they're so used to having a large jump in the middle like a box jump feature and now they're going to have to really have to go back and dissect how can we make our runs different so they're going down out I think we're gonna we're gonna see a lot of creativity from the athletes out here today yeah it's going to definitely shake things up and that is a good thing because BMX in 2018 the big story last year was that we were welcomed into the Olympics so we actually in 2020 will be back in Japan for the Olympics in Tokyo and riding has been getting progressed and pushing forward and right now as we're watching our athletes warming up out here for our semifinal you can tell that the progression is progressing forward with our riders so this is more of a bowl course you would say is up close to a traditional par course the main difference being that all the ramps are blended together it's not traditionally one hit so it's going to be a big factor as how well can a rider maintain and keep their speed on the course so what we're basically doing right now we are watching an hour qualifier that is underway yesterday unfortunately we had a little bit of rain so we were not able to run our qualifier what we did today was made it a big and semi final so we basically took almost 90 plus riders and put them all out here to qualify we're gonna take those 90 and we literally Ryan going to be taking well moving on to the final well how do we do that you basically break our riders down into different groups and in those groups we have different heats so we're going to put four riders in each one of they're going to be taking two runs out on the course and we're doing it different this year you're going to have 60 seconds for two runs but the difference being that it's going to be a best run counts so this is going to shake things up almost 90 riders each you're going to have two runs out on the course more riders per heat and we're gonna take the top 12 moving on to the final now our judges out here are going to be looking for a difficulty originality and style creativity with the variety of tricks consistency and control and amplitude now Ryan you being a lifelong bike rider yourself obviously you a little more background in mountain biking BMX routes buna how important the style factor is now on this course that definitely has a lot of transitions how important is it going to be for a rider to keep their speed I mean that's something that I'm looking down at the list right now actually a rider for instance like Daniel Veda Mayer from the Netherlands who is able to have such good flow throughout the course it finds all these interesting features to maybe do a foo-foo new or some kind of different different electric ability on and then go down to another rider like from the United States Brian Fox who's so known for doing these huge tricks like double backflip in the Cork's sevens and the 900s and all these amazing tricks and then seeing that there isn't a box top feature like that on course when I'm gonna really think okay maybe they're able to find speed throughout some other transition on course I have not been able to so far see any of the BMX athletes do a full run just what we see on screen right now is the first time I'm seeing the BMX athletes on course so it seems quite interesting to me as well I'm not yet able to give you my own personal opinion and how I think it's gonna fall out but maybe did you have actually some time watching watching them practice and watching some of the other competitors get a few runs through yeah I actually I did I saw I had a chance to go out on the course and we have our judges out there five industry icons and riders we have Dave CLE Werth from UK Street legend van home in the United States we have BB aka of Romeo Lud Nora from France we have Igor boo Kadena Vic Rico Asia and another street rider from the US of A Brian Kachinsky who are going to be watching all of the riders but the main thing about that there under the watchful eye of Bart de Jonge who is our UCI delegate so a few years ago he's partnered with the UCI the UCI is everything cycling tour de france Olympics for BMX racing really said let's step up the game as far as judging and criteria goes out there and I had a chance to talk with Bart Deshawn and really is under the watchful eye and keep talking format and the fact that the riders you have 60 seconds it's so important they want to showcase what a rider has right if we're going to the Olympics you think of Olympics but only top tier I have another play the divisions out there so he was talking about the fact that it's also the best run counts is going to switch things up so if a rider puts down one great run they have an opportunity to either change their approach for the second run or they could attempt to do a very similar run but throw in a increased difficulty of tricks on some of the hits out there now where that can play into factors you've got to balance maybe of two tries since this is the UCI is the Beast World Series Global points race with their five stops the riders are going to be looking for perfection they've gotten 60 seconds they have to capitalize from beginning to end and make it work now as far as this course going being such a unique featured course with all those transitions and a little more of the whole course out there in my opinion it's going to be very interesting to see where a rider starts on the course because that's going to set them up for that entire 60 seconds where they basically have to be a thread lacing through this entire canvas to set up for one hit into the next into the next so at the end of the 60 seconds it's almost like if to go in reverse order to think where are you going to wind up when the buzzer goes off and what trick you can throw yes anybody can ride through the course of that amount of time but if you're trying to set up and hit some of these ramps hit some of these hips when the riders did not have full time and practice due to the rain due to the weather you traveled across the world you might be a little bit of jet lag you've got 90 other competitors out there who are trying to do their best to get in there it's no easy feat Brian no it definitely isn't the best why though these are the top athletes in the world it's so incredible that we were able to have them like you said the jet pack though some of the athletes have been not just flying for 24 to 36 hours but yeah just to come out here and compete as well let's take a look and our group here so it's gonna start off with Nick Camuto new rib and then going into Jake wall work Bryce Tyrone Justin Dowell Sean Cornell Ben Wallace Anthony Jean Jean Kevin Peraza Jake neva and Kenneth tensio in the tenth therefore our then in 211 it is Mike Varga Jeremy mallet Ricki Veronique Alex nikkolon Montez camp eek Brandon Lupo's Jack Clark Pat Casey and Colton Walker Wow look at the riders out there there are some really big names as we move through the list we continue with the Russians we've got Eric and I have pasta on today Eve big Bruce Alex Cole born and you're defending 2017 champion and Daniel Dhers so we've got some extremely big names but the thing that really stands out is seeing the international spread that we have riders from all over the globe the fact that we're doing five different stops starting things off in Hiroshima Ryan then you know we're moving to our flagship event and only a then over to Canada Budapest and wrapping it up in Chengdu we are really a global event where we have all of our different riders who have an opportunity to make a name for themselves we do an Open qualifier at each contest where we say hey you can get in here you can ride if you can qualify normally it's make it to the semi-final but like we said there was rain yesterday so now what we're doing almost 90 plus riders were only taking 12 and you really get a chance to see on a global level what's going on in BMX and that's exactly why the fees is the top multi-discipline accident supports a series in the world because we are hosting this amount of events all over the globe but it's not just for professionals and the top athletes that we know in the industry but it's for of all those competitors as well if you are an amateur first-time athlete you want to get into the contest you make sure you go to fees to the fees website check us out online and on social media and get involved come to one of our events around the world we have so many that you're able to come be a part of and you can come join and see if you have what it takes to join the confessionals on that contest course because if you do you're able to compete with them and you have that fair shot is one of the only action sports series that is offering that ability to all athletes yeah I mean that is such a special aspect of fees but if you're going to talk about the global riders you cannot forget to mention the global fans the fact that we have so many participants who come and cheer on our riders last year we had over 800,000 fans that came out to all of our stops around the world this year we actually are looking to up that increase that as we're moving towards the Olympics and you can see that they got the fan support and look at all the flags so after which 1 & 2 it looks like Daniel Vito Meier is going to be on top followed by Joel bon dieu Jose Torres Gil in third Kyle baldock in fourth Wow and then 5th place Andre from Brazil there behind Nyquist who I haven't even seen out here but he's in sixth place Eric feet are in seventh Tristan Arts in 8th place Alessandro barbero in 9th place and Daniel neuron in 10th place there now ryan one thing to note we're taking top 12 so Victor Munoz and Alec don ôt are on the bubble right there they technically are both qualified in but we still have 24 riders to go these are your top standing riders from last year so as you're sitting in that top 12 and closer to number 1 here potentially could put a little breathing room but since we still have over 24 riders yet to compete out here we can see that packet really shaken up and things change so as we said Daniel Vita Myer is sitting in that top spot within 81.5 that is going to be the score to beat but just again as we look at all of our names we see how international from Australia we've got the UK up there we've got Paul : from your neck of the woods actually I know that you guys had a chance to ride at I believe oh four oh yeah exactly in inchoate so yeah Paul Toulon and out there doing a big number but we have so many competitors out here like you said it's because as well we had the rain day yesterday so if you guys do not aren't following why there are so many competitors on screens because we had a rain day yesterday and like Daryl has mentioned earlier in the class we are doing it all now so it's everyone jumped into one category and we're just doing this in one hit and go used to be spread it out in a couple heats previously in the daybook leading up to the semi-finals and that moves in semi finals and goes finals but you know we're just doing it group right now all together everyone in one heat so you just see a massive diversity in the flags as well I think that's very cool because for all those athletes are competing together with all the top professionals that who would usually just be competing in the semi finals together yeah I mean we're definitely going to see a unique blend of riding out there one thing to note we did have that rain yesterday unfortunately we weren't able to run our qualifier but because we are an outdoor event you know hopefully Mother Nature competes should say cooperates with us today as our riders are competing you can see though that the flags out there that you see I flag is blowing in the wind and it could definitely be a factor for our riders on the course our first rider tune in for Red Bull Japan this is none other than yakima rim buck to drop in on chorus in front of the local audience of course MC catfish right there yet the Japanese rider going as it does a big combo 360 towel to bar spin over that spine man was a beautiful amplitude from the Japanese BMX a great style there to throw on that tabletop in on that and coming up here let's see if he has some crossovers when he's working his way through the park now we are taking a look again it's 60 seconds on the clock that is a long time to be in the ring and the moments that will matter when the clock starts ticking down to 20 seconds as it's ticking away we got to make sure that a rider does not get lost and if they're able to keep their momentum and speed and throw big tricks like that double tell if they're the judges are going to really favor that so final moments here we're seeing a Superman over the spine great extension [Applause] [Music] so the Japanese rider throwing down a solid we are gonna keep it moving along in the same time zone we're talking about the Australian jig wall work is going to be on deck so let's see we talked about the Australians last year bringing the heat and bringing the power let's see if Jake can do that on his first run of to see there is that first feature that we said is I'm going to be the replacement for the Box jump you see Jake hit that full loop Flair there yeah full commitment double talent over the channel right there that was a big transfer you see full commitment using the upper body and there you go another committed transfer this time going the distance right there so it looks like Jake might wind up waving that one off now since we have the UCI we have Martin Jean the head delegate our judges are really looking for consistency out there we've seen in the 2017 season if a rider winds up putting a foot down or having a crash it greatly impacts their score maybe more so than some of the other contests out there Tyron up next his first run going here one minute on the clock and it started so we really started to see price come into his own in the 2017 season and natalier seeing that progression just continue as he's blasting some really big hairs Ryan c3 riders start so far in this heat and three separate entries into the course that was awesome the way that he set up on that flare transfer into the hip that's what we talked about where a rider can find a unique line out there the fact he was able to cut that corner and keep his speed in order to get that pop off the hip rice is using a very excellent use of the course so far going for some big big air tricks at the very start moving slower down to a few lip tricks but showing diversity as he comes across and utilizing all the features it seems so price right there having a little difficulty at the end of the clock at the end of the run but definitely snorted a bull now the other thing to note all of our riders are on an even playing field you're all out on the course the off the wind is howling or if the conditions out there they're all on the course sometimes at the weather if you're in the first heat it could favour a little better if the wind winds are picking up we've seen it the other way around as well where maybe the wind dies down as the day progresses but as far as the actual course goes and the playing field that our warriors are on they all have to figure out their own lines they all had limited practice time and it's basically we're seeing is also a lot of riders bike control and abilities Justin Dowell trying to get the attention of the audience all the way the United States Justin going to that beautiful 360 look back on the spiny to a back foot flare bumping over the 360 triple Baris been squirrely on the landing still holding on somehow going into a back the flare turn down yeah Dowell the young gun has some pretty wild jumping variations looks like he's actually gonna wind up waving that off you see him adjusting his seat I'm not sure it's something got a little bit loose but we're talking about the UCI looking for perfection as we mentioned we have our five judges ban home in a BB p or who cadena Vick Ryan kitchens and dave CLE Werth who are looking for solid runs beginning to end when you have almost 90 riders and only 12 we're gonna move to the final our riders know you've got to make sure you keep any of the inconsistencies crashes feet down or not keeping the speed to an absolute minimum there you go with that top side way [Music] around on that downside 360 tail whip so Cornell right there you see throwing some petals to get the bar spin transfer you can see that capsule in the background move the new to bar spin see I'm actually utilizing the brakes out there so you know Brian a rider has the ability to set up its preference however many pegs they want up to four on their bike they can put a front brake back brake riders like Ryan Nyquist utilize all of those you got some other riders you say they don't put any of them on their bikes but you see Shawn Gore now utilizing that back brake with them a few from a trick where that's balancing you pull the brakes and you come down they're utilizing that front peg for the toothpick and then wrapping it up with that 360 bar spin known as the truck driver [Applause] so they were gonna have to wait and see you what the judges think as the scores come in here such a massive amount of athletes put as well we have such an amazing audience who come out here look at that crowd to come out in drones to watch action sports happen in the amazing capital of Hiroshima in Japan Sean Grinnell you just saw drop in for his first run there that's right we're on Heat number three and then we'll be moving for the second run right now [Applause] freestyle athlete says he saw him blast on this side going the same ya rim dropping in 360 leaving a little bit flat going big he's gonna wave that one off and fortunately haha you can see right there he's catching his breath hopefully okay so his bike lately having a little bit of difficulty as well I think it's more of him catching his breath you can actually see he's a rider fourze Sabrosa I know that Ron Bonner and Brian share on their Brent are cheering on rim as he's back on it with a double Marchman over the spine you know difficult that is coming when you crash that hard you get winded you got all the adrenaline and rims showing you why is one of the biggest prospects coming through Japan Wow just such a different mentality I mean from let's say some of the Western riders well right out of the gate that's so difficult to have that bars fit miss and land on your chest and then have that you know he must have such a sensitive nationalism as well to feel okay I'm in front of my home crowd now let's go and do this yeah it's very cool to see a writer get up and give their all there's a lot of adrenaline you know I've traveled halfway around the world obviously Rimet its own neck of the woods but would you have a rider here like Kate will work at allmovie Australian think about the Bass Pro Series is a global points race with five stops each stop being so valuable in your points you want to do good and we're gonna see him Jake with that turn down can keep the momentum as he doesn't I'll you know hander it's called an ollie you because a rider is drifting backwards they wind up turning yes that was enormous that channel gap double tail with 360 downside of whim over the spine and a 540 more spin they're putting it in right now 540 oh you saw that he landed just a little bit off tipped over his feet blew off the pedals back on it but we talked about it the judges are looking for top perfection out there 12 riders out of 90 plus [Applause] don't know what that blood is going to be yet to take it we will see as the judges make their decisions as we have been through J bulwarks run - of - look at this horse ride so unique yes I'm hardly seen a course like we've been talking about that has yet to have a box jump feature like this it's actually very nice and refreshing to see something different like this and I'm so happy to be a part of the bees where they take it upon themselves to say okay yeah you know we're gonna have some other block stone features we can we can take that one out of this course and see how the riders like it makes them diversity I mean it is supposed to be a contest that favors freestyle and favors differentiation amongst the riders and amongst athlete's foot as well among horses so it's very cool that I think we can showcase such a course but yeah we're gonna see riders Rice try on throwing the bars double time that was a big way to start things out we saw in his first run he was basically shot out of the cab there is that by the way is that a full quarter pipe is that vert or is that just almost a bag I'm not sure where he first the first takeoff it's actually a full quarter what he just land on there is more of a bank but the first one that he blasted is a mellower quarter pipe doesn't get vert does it no it doesn't but if we're going to talk about the angles of the quarter there one thing I want to note on that three angled hip it's a very steep quarter pipe there and it's not able to give the riders necessarily the pop over but I do want to highlight and give a big shout out to Bryce really getting the height big killer combination of tuck no-hander barspin barspin unfortunately he went down I loved seeing though his positive attitude I loved seeing his speed and momentum and I'm feeling that Bryce really continued throughout our series so that is a name that you want to know that is a name that you want I want to see more of especially for you to see big airs like that killer three hit combination so Bryce Tryon unfortunately going down but you know it's not up to us it's up to our five judges to determine who will be the 12 that's always the spot I never want to be in so next up Justin Dowell the United States of America it's a long one to make it out here to Japan starting strong there that 360 look back do a back flip 180 barspin it's a flare bar spin in there he looks sticks at that time 360 triple bars made of bars been whip yeah Justin one of the only rider is doing that it's called the Twix it's a tail whip with the bar spin at the same time there's only a couple of guys who have ever completed that trick Daniel Sandoval being one of them and Justin Dowell out there just looking smooth throwing down the Twix on that transfer you have so much going on the handle bars are rotating while the freed is spinning so at one point you actually nothing connected to the bike you didn't necessarily do it bus driver style that's where you slowly hand it off you through the bars no just shows you the where Justin Dowell was riding is at yeah it's insane it's like an absolute nothing but with so much more stuff going on guys if you've ever ridden bikes before it you know I don't know I I started learning how to you know footers in the notebook when handers then if we've progressed nothing's but still if I go and doing nothing on a bike it's a strange feeling the whole bike falls away from you you kind of it's a strange thing because the bike wants to do something else and your body is doing and there's nothing connected to it and so then think about doing that with both bars spinning 360 degrees and you just that's insane keep it that that's insane the Twix is insane look at that some beautiful replay looks there was a flare turned down Justin keeping Daniel Dhers little bit of ice you know know what you should do for his written out John Cornell dropping it Sean a very powerful bike rider you can see he's got a lot of physical strength that definitely transfers to speed when he's on the horse whoa going down pretty hard there Sean back up at it well you bar spin their opposite 360 on the spine so Brian you know when a rider goes down it might not even necessarily be the physical pain that they experience we know all our riders are tough as nails I mean we've received some crashes go down and thankfully get back up and get back in the ring but it play a really big psychological effect we talked about it being 60 seconds throughout the course you want to really have a game plan when you go out there do the best riders in the world and whine of going down it can throw everything off because let's say in Shawn's case on his second hit you fell in that Tower well he might have been planning on the next ball having a certain amount of speed and momentum that was required to keep things going but you can see on that talent he was not able to get a body weight where even to be and he fell so you recover all of a sudden then you're starting with no speed you got a panel get back and it can really throw you for a loop and it's easy to get lost out there so we can see as some of our other riders I believe that was Jack Clark down there in k-zone getting ready we've got a lot of riders who have yet to go but we just went through our first four riders as we're going to give our next for a month or two to warm things up on the course we talked about the rain yesterday we did not have a chance to run our full qualifier we do you get to drop any of the riders so if you are just joining us you've got the best seat in the house for our first stop number 2018 theis World Series this is our UCI BMX freestyle Park World Cup qualifier which is actually going to be known as the semi-final reason you need to know that is that we switched up our format for our semi-final this year our riders have two runs and we're going with a best run counts scenario it's going to be very different we're going to see our riders potentially taking a lot more risks if they get a solid first run out there where they can try some more difficult tricks on the course and if they go down though I got one run in this way it's not going to pull down my score but I could be rewarded if I maybe rolled the dice and pull something off so it's gonna be interesting you know that's the question to ask Ryan do you go what kind of strategy do the riders have out there when they drop in yeah I mean actually coming from my contest background in mountain bike I don't know if you actually have that in dirt BMX I believe you might but we always had the two runs best run counts because it was always this format of if you crash there is no recharging and being able to your run it's like if you if you crash that's it your run is done but now that we've got you through the riders and that they're so progressed in their abilities looking that Justin Dowell on top there with an 83 5-0 like I'm talking about as well so Daniel Dhers for instance a rider who is able to have these amazing flow runs and then just endow someone who's doing all these tricks but if you do not do a trick if you crash out it seems like at this point in the game that might be a wash so then when we go back to a we go to a format where it says okay now we're just going to take your best run I think it forwards the athlete the ability to say okay then I am gonna push for doing those best tricks the whole time through and so what if I crash one time the next time I might be able to get those best runs yeah it's gonna be really exciting as the contest progresses and we see some of the riders who really are been standouts in the years past and talking about Daniel Dhers I'm talking about Alex call born Nick Bruce wanna see costume on today Yves how do they adapt into the format how do they adapt to worse out there yeah because especially you see riders like Koster as well who has such diversity within both of their runs but look at this Ben Wallace rider who is always oh look at how fast he shredded that halfpipe or full pipe mind you the half bull as well as such nice flow going around this course 360 look back completely beautiful look back the UK's Ben Wallace out here being cheered on by tima manager Lee Ramsdale for Mongoose as he does a big flare transfer Ben Wallace is representing the UK as we move towards Tokyo 2020 for the Olympics Wallace out here yes Jew 70 coming in Wallace had a tremendous 2017 put down a big first run out there waving things off there you have it Wallace his first run I mean that was some diversity as we saw at the very start of his run he shredded all across the core is completely different than I have so far seeing other BMX competitors do on this course let's take a couple slow-motion replay looks some highlights from his run yeah big look back there you see almost done every single one of the hits that Wallace had on the course he landed very close to the coping on the top the riders able to keep the momentum and speed going when you do that it works in your favor throughout your run you don't have to use as much energy on the course you can keep it flowing and that obviously would enable you to pop high on the following quarter pipe or hit that you have but it's so cool the fact that really we're seeing up here it comes down to the riders approach as opposed to maybe some of the years past where it was more about the tricks they were doing on the specific box jump or maybe one of the key features out there it's really cool to see where a rider starts and as we progress through in our list I definitely want to take note of that together as you see where the riders start so Wallace right here a score coming in seven seven point four three he is going to be in that top 12 but again things are going to change as we view the list because it only takes one run out there and I ride are looking to take his first run is Anthony John John the Frenchman has 60 seconds locked and loaded the way it works you know Ryan a rider can start on any specific vantage point they have on the horse and that will set them up for their run Anthony jean-jean really impressed me at our launch event in sorry in Saudi Arabia the other week Shan Shan was able to deliver very impactful performance let's see if he's able to do so as well here so you see in John John have been a little bit of difficulty on that hip step feature in the middle of the course again I was talking a little bit about that transition that takeoff is a very steep quarter pipe that's not a mellow one a lot of the riders said it was difficult to get speed to get up and over the step-up which I personally like because again it's a level playing field every riders got to hit that same hip and that same takeoff so rather if it was maybe a little bit more of a launch then we'd have a box jump in the middle of the park but the riders are gonna have to think outside the box here it is as you mentioned BMX freestyle and you do have to have that originality on the course and it's how well do you adapt to what's in front of you that's right it's so nice I think to be able to see a course that challenges the athlete it's not just so simple for them to get over every single feature and they can do their I love there's a big smile miss bras in the background happy to see that all the guys out here it's like a family you know BMX is like a family and like the fees as well the fees is a family it's so nice to tour all around the world here with all these action sports combined it's a nice feeling you know every time we come out to a new venue feels like the family is here what's happening up here in Japan right now Kevin Raza you are gonna make some families and BMX we're going to talk about the process family we guess families and BMX wanna give a lot of shout out to them family you're not talking about Victor who I just had some time to spend with down in Santiago Chile getting things going okay this is a rider who is going to be able to deliver I spoke too soon there but you said that is such a hard feature to actually hit that step up there but Peraza is a rider who's destined to be able to dissect the course like this and that's going to be in his advantage his style really favors having some creativity put into a course yeah Kevin is definitely one rider that I thought would be favored on this ball force he has one X Games medals before horses where there's different transitions he has the ability to go to Street he has the ability for partner he's always been a standout head of Montpellier we've got unique features such as the hitching post out here having a good time is raw friends with Timmy's go to the manager of Mongoose out here the ramps I was cheering him on and we're gonna see what Kevin is able to do it in his second run you see it putting his hands up a little bit wasn't necessarily the full pull that's known out of Kevin but he's got a lot of a lot of experience under his belt he's no stranger to the contest circuit but he's definitely shown his signature smile there you see Kevin having a good time on at the course we progressed in our next rider the multicolored middle up there Jake drop it in with that backflip drop in the flare drop it up from late great day Bureau nice double downside tail whip and let's see there's that value 270 yeah 540 on just going down over there [Music] the hyper rider spent a lot of his time at Woodward hatchapee California 480 briar camp Woodward props to Gary green the woodwork family sports so many different riders actually see he's got that right next to his favorite snafu sticker on his helmet along with his back his name right on the back but we are gonna go to the top of the list for the big rider Big Ben from the UK looking to get back in the ring right here we are currently about 15 of 19 that is a lot of riders as our fans are pouring in here to the former visible stadium in Hiroshima we are in a global point race in our semifinal 90-plus riders 12 are moving on and the Mongoose rider coming in then Wallace as the clock starts blasting here we go yeah you can see him going completely upside down the 12 the clock Mark Wallace look at the height on that no hander we're seeing he's 20 seconds in Ryan has got a lot of speed he'll went that height got to make sure that Wallace could keep it flowing that 360 look back these are the points that I was making from his first run he flows so nicely throughout this entire course utilizing some amazing creatures but as well so perfect transitions Wallace you see hanging up a little bit then all of a sudden slowed things down with the food for Neil going for the 40 tires down little bit wild style so we're gonna see these final 10-second this is where the judges want to know is this planned out here did you get a little bit lost did you recover and look at that Wallace with it over toothpick very technical trick right there find that balance point on this line it's called a toothpick as it's your front peg ice pick is the back double two pegs nopales utilizing the tooth on the front pulls right back order at the upper body not an easy thing to do let alone at the end of 60 seconds so Wallace with the big look back error the fact that he's able to do look backs like that is because he doesn't necessarily turn his rotational direction some riders might say it's a little bit who footed some might say it's not your fishable way I say what Ben Wallace does it it's awesome so you can see him down there right there with his UK team at captain down there we've got rich who's just looking in the watchful eye letting our riders know what is going on Wallace thinks he was good enough for seven plays Mona Ryder coming in part of the total army 364 spin that was a little more than a three because it's over a hip almost on that 450 mark you saw rindy hung up his back wheel when a rider doesn't clear all the way to the transition you land on top you hope that no you over the handlebars and if it doesn't then you hope it doesn't suck all of your speed at John John even though he cased a little bit was able to bypass both of those factors as he hits the halfway mark in his time there tuck no-hander over the spine yeah John John came into the scene last year a big jumping tricks and it's interesting to see the ways dissecting our bull course out here at that Flair yeah I definitely want to give a lot of special love to the hurricane Atlanta for building such a person up here and Shaun Shaun is wrapping up his second project John John you riders down more to go so seeing the fans out here as well just really pouring into our part the weather we're talking about it's a little bit chilly out here we're hoping that the rain can hold off there's a little bit of wind as well but the spirits are high the one man that embodies that with that smile is our next rider given murasa Tucson Arizona he's getting ready to go visualize it a little bit charge it Oh all right start things out with that step up three scrub in Swede there as you notice Kevin has no brakes on his bike so when it comes off oh yeah there it goes ah missing the Indian air again that must be such a difficult feature to get actually angled in there you saw Kevin have difficulty with that in his first run as well yeah I know everybody skatepark is cheering on especially brother David as Kevin is trying to put it together in 20 seconds [Music] very technical right there balancing on the front wheel finding the pivot point on that 540 drop it in very cool way to go around that capsule right there as three you know pedal slide showing his street abilities cause course to be amazing to see him I don't open two bubbles like that and one each run I know that all of my riders are watches you're not Kevin for us at around the world especially the sarita brothers one is read an alien Santiago Chile just work on a real Street project with Kevin Raza where they were filming for months on end even though Kevin has what it takes to put out some of the really special video parts right now is he's gonna have what it takes to progress past our semifinal as we move along to our fourth Rider taking a look right there do I say rider hyper bikes there we go Oh big backflip drop it Ryan huge starting that off Aslam big shout out so late great Dave Mirra I want to give some drops of those to transfer lives right there you saw the way that he was able to pull all the way now and grab that transition he was able to hold the transition setting up for the next hip 270 up now Ryan we're seeing a lot of our riders out here take petals in the flat bottom we've seen a lot of riders take petals out here in the look at the huff that front flip right there so just saying a lot of riders have put some petals out there I know that we're talking about this being a little more of a bowl course and it's going to be interesting to see what factor a rider has there and pull our fans around the world as we wrap up eat number 15 we're gonna bring our next rider down and warm it up but while we do so know what riders you're thinking about who are you cheering Ryan and I want to hear from you personally you could send us messages Instagram Twitter it's just at Darryl now da our r yl nau or you could follow Ryan and his handle which I believe now is late night right ahead a little existential crisis through the offseason oh I remember a little reconstruction of the identity but as well make sure you guys follow the fees social media helps you can check us out on the YouTube channel which has some amazing coverage as well as the Facebook at B's not official as well Twitter Instagram snapchat we're on everything as well check us out on our website please world series.com you guys want to stay involved with some of the snap stories in may be splat Instagram and Facebook live stuff make sure you guys check us out there and hashtag all your posts fees hiroshima stay in touch with action out you this weekend so standings rolling in it looks like Ben and Wallace is going to be the only rider to crack the top ten with the 77 point or three just a dowel still staying on top with at 85 excuse me eighty-three point five and zero but as you go through the list again we talked about it being top 12 so Eric Seaguar is going to be on the bubble and Orion Nyquist as well in 11:30 12:00 it looks like Anthony John John is gonna have a seat inky 175 that is not going to be enough to be one of the top 12 so again as the scores progress and they come in with our riders we're talking about from last year's standings these are the riders that had solid seasons so traditionally you might see some higher scores as we progressed through our last heats out here and if you are sitting anywhere near that 12th spot you are going to be biting your fingernails as we wind up progressing and pushing through but I want to take a moment right now and give some special love a little bit of shine time to a couple of riders who are not with us at our first stop I'm talking about Logan Martin he was an hour champion in 2000 at 16 and 15 he came in second place last year in 2017 I know it Logan if you are watching at home unfortunately about four weeks ago Logan suffered a collarbone break he shattered it on a front flip gone wrong I mean Logan is such a committed rider if you want to see some really cool footage of Logan grab the phone follow me on instagram it's at Logan Martin BMX no spaces and you can see on a daily basis Logan pushing is riding really cool giveaways on there but unfortunately shattered his collarbone two weeks later had a surgery and literally two weeks into that almost thought he was for any other rider would have been a hard decision for him but we know Logan is cheering on from home as we've got Kenneth tensio the Costa Rican up on top of our sub wall feature as we were getting ready for heat 16 of 19 look at that backflip drop in from Ken Atencio Wow tens you up to big tricks that was a Superman seat grab right into the tail with there's back flip 180 horseman style he's doing that for the legend in the house 360 double barspin suicide now hander tensio get some speed around that wall there 360 or an alley-oop to 71 hander right there tends to trying to get a few more poison food that's to red cedar up there and the 720 open the spine 10 seconds still on the clock seems like it's frozen on the dot there flare on the quarter pipe last trick bar spin tap finishing it off for Candy's NCO [Applause] [Music] check out how he started right there that flare dropping macklin drop it started sixty double bar standard double drunk driver the nyquist 360 bar we call it they're still holding bars in hiroshima and stormy out there yesterday we had for me to hold on with all competition period due to the bad weather today it's been sunny all morning except for right now it's starting to get a little gloomy out there Oh an eighty three point two seven four Kenneth tensio puts him into second place bumping out Daniel vandemeyer into third [Music] you know what else well is quite nice you can see if flags are gusting but because of course and how this is laid out it kind of is a pocket itself with the wind conditions it doesn't really seem to be affecting the athletes as much as a normal part course would be yeah right it's a really good point but you know as much as me when a rider will blast up out of a quarter pipe you don't might all the sudden get that win meant blow you to my flat on the course knocking your speed or a little bit short where if you hang up you don't get that distance so you see Varga right there chip the one of the first rider and actually trying to go up and over that step up from a straight hit that you can see he wasn't able to get the full speed to throw down a variation already as we coming into 12 seconds left with the tail whip coming down from our elevated platform it's a very steep kick coming off into that step up so that is why the athletes are having such difficulty to make it over to that step it doesn't look like a big gap it's three meters maybe that's nothing if we compare what most easy to use doing but it's just transitions that are coming through and the take-off coming out yeah you know we keep talking about this one is the level playing Phil here wall riders so we're not necessarily we haven't seen people blasting big tricks maybe like on a step up the mad in contests of past you know you're in Budapest or somewhere else like that but it's a level playing field so if everyone's having difficulty pairing it and someone maybe throws a trick that's a little bit or of a down on the rungs of the ladder of difficulty even maybe a barspin that's still cool because no one else has Mars been the across the gap to me that's the exciting thing about freestyle playing the course it's not just having the perfect setup to throw the trick it's good oh my gosh did you see so-and-so through the bars here we have mallet Jeremy dropping in a newly a father and throwing down a wild style 540 Flair right there that is somewhere between 540 and 900 of flare and 4 battlin to one an opportunity to carry me on the way over to the course today he's so excited not only to be here in our first stop but talking about being and dad he said it's changed completely his outlook I'm like that on life it's also they've given him such appreciation for his time on his bike he's been really just been able to channel that energy into his BMS so happy today we did good Emily back home seems to be holding down a very solid first run out here look at that more spin coming down to later half of his run gonna be about last Rick's here finishing off one flare a nice bar spin on the quarter pipe Jeremie throwing it up right there Lake Havasu City is where Jeremy calls home not too far from Las Vegas wait on the floor so again we've got our five riders up there they are looking at things like an overall impression on which consists of speed height bricks difficulty of tricks consistency of tricks and when you can put it all together and if you can add that thing known as style next rider looking to get as close to that point ready we're talking about Sylvania rider from the US of A at Ricky Veronique 360 that's what we're talking about Ryan nice the transition there yeah you talked about that landing we saw a couple other riders spin it but they didn't know as well so Ricky right now of course I like that he actually didn't take that metal dare he just let his speed flow through you can see the winds howling but he's really control out there he's got any confidence to do not have the quality him put him to be on the course and fighting his flow which isn't an easy thing to do wrong who you got three thousands and thousands of fans and you also have countless people watching not only tonight but also around the world and we're coming at right over 40 plus countries as Ricky right now as utilize the final five seconds right there down a solid first run talk abouts ready you know for each rider when you get one under your belt you might see he might try to completely different course or approach out there for a second run or you might just some a little bit similar and say you know what I'm winning this might throw in an extra bar spin maybe an extra tail up here a tabletop there and almost work on his painting the picture that he had in his first time will tell so we are actually just hearing out there from an hour and of course MC catfish you could see by all the riders putting on their rain jackets it started to drizzle down on the course unfortunately when you wind up mixing the unit surface with water and you got tires there's never a good combination if you can make it very slippery it is always about safety of our athletes first so we are gonna take a moment and see hopefully this weather pass Ryan is you and I look out into the skyline of Hiroshima we can actually see there's certain parts of the sky that are much lighter than others out there it looks like right in the center of our downtown our city center is where it is gray and gloomy but to the outside as you make your way towards the shore it definitely looks a little bit lighter so we're gonna hope that that works and we look at our temperatures out here we see that's 9 degrees Celsius that wind speed though is pretty high eighteen kilometers an hour and our humidity is at 50% now Ryan over me this is my first time here in Japan it's been such a treat to be here I know you spent some time traveling around Asia together you world traveler yourself originally come over living in Amsterdam Japan no this is well my first time ever and always wanted to make it but never actually it was able to so a couple of days ago up in courtesy of flying how to Tokyo we spending a few extra days Osaka gonna be going as well Tokyo trying to visit some other connections that I haven't seen but there's so much in this beautiful country to visit and it's just amazing that we're able to come out here for one of the feast dogs I was so happy when they when they listed it on the tour this area we're gonna be doing in Japan stop in Hiroshima it's absolutely incredible for me to see action sports out here I think it's such a thriving sports scene in general and it's such a beautiful culture I mean it's there so respective and so yeah humble in their own rights but as well when we look at in on action sports sense I've watched all the team now for snowboarding and skiing sections and seeing all this crazy BMX flatland come out of here as well as skateboarding and I always thought okay it would be such a beautiful place to visit so it's so amazing that we're able to make this part of the experience of a family here fees yeah I remember what it was announced that wisely the crowded and did your best you know array up in the sky that you told me the news and I was like yes so excited cuz it big part of BMX freestyle is in effect you get to more rapidly you get to experienced and friends you don't just have to be a sponsor rider could be a fan here watching Karen on your riders essentially that's Brian you and I do step we hit the Betsy now house hit the cheer on her friends right get down here make some new friends and you could wind up coming to the events to bring your bike and then you travel for a week the same way that you just said you're gonna be doing I'm gonna spend a few weeks I'm actually doing that with one of the judges admitted with van home in we're gonna go Street riding on Monday and Tuesday yes I brought my bike that I could be joining you guys but yeah I don't know maybe yeah maybe we can find a bike along the way let's take a couple highlight looks as we give a bit of the banter while the rain decides to come or not come right now but he's a bit of some replay highlight looks at so far the athletes we've watched today on the screen you see there mister Peraza so happy to see him out in the house leave it during that backflip drop in there we've had such amazing riding so far and there's still so many athletes to come today we're hoping that the weather is able to hold off see some of the riders taking shelter in that honor Bowl right now on course yeah they're definitely trying to steer clear of the weather you can see Daniel Dhers in there he is our defending 2017 he is rocking and that white hooded windbreaker annual along with their other riders don't want to get their way I don't think you get moisture on the tires you can slide out wonder getting enough condensation on your grips you could get what's known as throttle Brett mahoma where you can wind up spinning or losing your grip on there definitely not a good thing you can see on the course we've got Johan out there one of the men who makes a lot happen here at the feast we can be pretty much every role Under the Sun you see he's probably using his own t-shirt over there cleaning up the course seconds ago Johan was like a tower bag dropping off some paperwork he was asking I think you just saw that you could get some TV time so you decided to go there and put a rub a little cow all over that bees logo because they actually as well as the slipperiest before so he does that for the athletes respected Johan you also see could see Tosca Andre Eve out there squeegee trying to make it go but you know I had an opportunity to talk to Bart de Jong as we said he's our head a technical delegate for the UCI and I asked him you know we've had some problems in the past with weather right we're an outdoor event that's the cool part about fees it's outdoor you get to experience the city and the energy but sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate and we've had in the past through either be rain or we've had some issues with wind and I said well what are we doing he said all right this year got a plan we are going to work hand-in-hand with the organizers obviously being feasts we're going to work with our medical staff to advise on what they think the safety we've got two writer representatives one at being the legend of ride Nyquist and the female counterpart legend one of my great friends Nina boo Trago who are the writer representatives and are going to be giving their input and they're going to be working with Bart who's the head of the UCI to come up with a solution of where we can go so the great part is you do have all up sides represented you've got the safety aspect you've got the event organization to make sure obviously as far as all the moving parts with the fans in the house the regulations you know as far as any permits for the parks etc you've got the riders represented and then Bart who can really give his own spin as far as being in charge of all the as far as the competition goes making sure that that could be smooth and that is how we will know when we get the green light as far as is it dry enough is there too much wind of what we're dealing with so that's why you see all the people out there assisting on course with the towels thing as Ajay Stein out there from our inline crew super happy if I see AJ out there on course we have catfish up there he's about ready to announce what's happening with the athletes but so far what I can see is that they're drying off the course and looks like contest is going to be started if the athletes are happy enough with this maybe just a light drizzle that went down and we are able probably to start up again with competition fingers crossed that goes to the power yeah catfish always wanted to be a master of ceremonies out here at the feast I know that for I'm gonna say probably about a decade he's been in our flagship event out in Montpelier get in the world very excited to come out there and help being an integral part of bringing the feasts to our global level if you want to fluff some really funny vmx you could give catfish a follow on his Instagram handle it isn't fish first thug and you have an opportunity and follow his adventures around the world as a BMX emcee the cool thing is he spends a lot of time with the riders on his travels a lot of behind the scenes at some of these events you get to see what some of the riders they're doing but you also want to make sure that you are following us on all of our social media handles but I want to talk about one in particular YouTube that's right if you go on YouTube you just take these FIS e you can see so many cool videos video packages and highlights all of our contests so the party is started again this is heat 16 of 19 and you are just joining us we came back to the green delay as we have kidded kids here taking run at 2 of 2 on the course almost 90 plus riders we are bringing 12 on who get the best run score out here on the course top 12 of 90 can see all right now - as he hits the 30-second mark in the wal with attentio flying around that full circle coming up see crap air oh just going down there so tensio the Costa Rican you can see this clock is still ticking three seconds to go that means that he was not able to have a perfect second run out there his first run was very impressive with that eighty three point two seven he's looking to bump it up he's currently sitting in second you know what the big crash like that I don't know is gonna be enough to do but tensio has so much passion for his bike and so much of that mental commitment I love the fact that for him a signature starting point is always that backflip here at the feast and he's bringing that flavor into 2018 but we got our Canadian locked and loaded he is going to start the same spot next to catfish on top of our quarter pipe largas got the big jump in tricks he's also got the crazy quarter pipe tricks one thing Park is going crazy rotational spin we actually seen in years past he's done three nine hundred variations which is insane and mind-boggling but you're seeing a taste of it with those two and 360 barspin one was under rotated and one was over coming back across chorus wall as bars been out there who getting that straight on like you said earlier del that was one of the first that step up teacher dive wreck head-on Varga doing justice up 36 the over the spine yeah Barca looking solid again it's just we've one bullet out there and you get hit that target you could shake that pack up on Fargo is looking solid so you can see right there partner was able to get back through the pedals but so much of this is your mental state of mind and you saw Barca wound up set sitting down for a minute got really thrown off for a loop right there believe it's back peg might have just looked off he going that bar spin variation again you got to find that balance point on your back wheel Varga the Canadian rider doing it for DK [Music] we still have the athletes here I want proud papa Havasu City USM a hyper snappy monster triple-eight head over heels right there step in that foot through on that can't can't bar spin to know Hendra we got to get Jeremy props right there show very consistency and very comfortable three big back to back trace right there bars but you can just see no books I just want to note he's just coated in John yeah comfortable isn't even when he took that medal he wasn't as we like to say chopping wood where your wind up doing these big aggressive petals really not smooth gonna say Jeremy right here is looking good downside tell what these are gonna be the moments that matter barspin counting whoa Jeremy with the flare tail whip and a farce been in the opposite direction right there little extra bonus points so that was after the buzzer I think that one might just be for the fans was for the judges were 60 seconds of awesome attention work from our riders as mallet had a very big start that was Brandon Lu bus he gave a pound to they actually lived together just outside of Vegas for a little bit of time so you can see that camaraderie we're gonna see the Jeremy's first from a seven seven point eight seven I gotta let you know Ryan I'm interested to see how much of a factor in control like that not throwing job petals in and really not getting lost throughout the course how much of a factor is that gonna wind up being as far as it looks like we're gonna have to wait for that score as Ricky fare he is dropping in Ricky hitting that spying feature there at that 360 talk he said one of the first athletes so far we saw him hit that beat like he did in his first run back to back both ways whipping from right to left now Ryan we talked about a rider set up eggs on his bike and the fact that he's out on this course the reason we keep saying it's a little bit more bold future as well it's not me because missions out here there's as far as a skate park goes that usually blend some Street features who are to be you don't see them out here there's not rails there's not really a lot of damages so it's definitely one thing to highlight so Ricky having a set up out here yeah you can wind up utilizing certain grinds the way the Kevin prosit did that crank more metal cried for maybe you could go up with a SUP boxer use those features but that's another thing to highlight as far as their unique core skills so that is gonna wrap up our out there that means we're gonna move it along as the party cruises so um about it we've got Alex Eagle in Amara Durant Hessian peak and branded blue cluster going to be our next four riders up so we can see the skies in the distance of Hiroshima up there not as dirty blue Mia's not above we definitely want to take a moment to talk about Hiroshima I know Ryan the fact that we're here for a contest for me personally is so mind-blowing the fact that we grew up in the United States for myself and talking about we just heard about Hiroshima and all the history books and being such an iconic powerful place in Japan um's idea that we're here for contest all these years later it's unbelievable to think we're a history class and now we're here literally just a few hundred meters from the actual site where history was made all those years ago with the bomb going off and now you can just see how Frost Christmas the people are as they cheer on our highlights from riders like Rickie vernik doing that downside 360 whip there was a traditional tail whip but yeah it's just really special being here all the riders it's so cool because honestly when something is that powerful that transpires far as the atomic bomb going off here it's just work great we want to find the devastation the people are just so resilient the fact that for all these years there's been a symbol of peace here world that have been so open and caring everybody coming it's just really cool to have earth engineer and were able to see riders like head intensive get rewarded at eighty three point two seven and Jeremy mallet as well with a ninety point eight zero as we talked about our judges actually really like that when a rider who's in control and they're throwing down some big tricks like Jeremy's turn out with that 540 Flair but yep just kept it cool calm and collected it did not get lost and we see that Ricky Veronique pushing himself in perspective eleventh position there as well moving forth into our next page we're going to be starting it off with none other than Alex neukölln from Russia we have the Russian dual out for you we're not our launch event in Saudi Arabia if you guys are tuning in to all the fees channels you know or talking about wasn't part of the World Series they're our part of the world tour of but it was part of the launch event alex nickel in starting off the strong yes now Ryan I got to tell you Alex neukölln was one of my riders and I first really wanted to see on the course I'm acutely loaded fan because Alex tends to ride a couple of degrees faster on our regular courses up the vert walk there's a guy who lasted out of the top six inches of foot maybe even up a few feet a meter it's Alex people in the fact that this part really comes down to a lot of bike control and skill you can see there's no pegs and no brakes nickel in just looking great out there throwing down some big jumping tricks to like that I love you Claire there's the foot jam on the front tire lock and nine what's giggling gonna do coming up on our elevated platform yeah nice flare right there and the clock is gonna wide out so look that Russian Alex neukölln throws down a solid run and this is where we might see a little bit of different strategy for run number two as he comes in you can see his Russian counterparts up there that is here to cry seven on that teal bike as we look back flip drop in that was not off the sub box it was difficult to because you land into a low wedge and if you're gonna start your run off that way you don't have a lot of momentum and you saw that he had to dig deep hit those pedals in which could definitely burn through a lot of energy but nickel in right here and hit 17 of 19 that means if we have two more full heats to go nickel in out there 25 years old the Russian doing it for superstar BMX Monster Energy we're along to our Croatian rider Red Bull Shoni mobile that you see I wall ride tuck no-hander of the hip nice 360 tail whip with hi-yah and that's fine Ryan you and I were talking about Marin right before the event saying it was so exciting to see him come into his own in 2017 can he keep that going in the 2018 and that was a huge decision that step of the most other riders and trouble clearing last season and now he's looking solid as he throws down that double toe up to the player to that top elevated force like a mini ramp up there let me get a few extra points in on some of the section that I feel comfortable on he's dropping back down into the ball [Music] [Applause] for the run of Marin Renta's that was hung up a little bit with me and my crew will show you how it's done [Music] for the longest this standings I've seen out here so usually we have like a 12 athlete standing campi compete now dropping in right now beautiful just 1 foot 10 keeping it clean and simple barspin to tell them then going a bit different pump it back as a bull feature nice 360 table Tom over that spine ice pick the bar spin on the quarter pipe really cool flat spin 5 utilizing that spine as a quarter pipe Carvin over that capsule and just you know kind of flow in this course like a bowl not so much like BMX park course I like actually how he's dissecting that we can peek has about 15 seconds on the clock for an over tune there yeah see I'm getting technical utilizing that front peg seven seconds he's gonna line up waving it off now if a rider does pop out towards the end and they don't utilize the entire clock you know it's interesting you see how that really favors but I know that the judges want to see a rider get that full pole there's 60 seconds and all the really what you want to do is put a big exclamation when at the end of your run but cam right there great combination flying out that back end around and you can see feeling a little bit winded taking a moment talking to can fish out there his camp he throws down his rod we've got one more rider and yet to go eat number 17 this is the Australian rider snafu Rockstar and hyper dropping in we're talking about none other than branded Lupo's Lumos has what it takes in years past he has won first place and some of our feast stops double tail the transfer got that I was wondering he didn't have perfect transition come yes it's 5:40 right there as well I go sitting down perfect transition coming in but still God looks like actually his hand on the middle of the joint there in the ramps that is do post last year in Budapest got first place but it's gonna talk about being a one run that counts which is important so lupus is gonna sit it out he knows it you know what if I put it out there I could do it I can make happen I had a chance to hang with Lupo's this morning on the way over the event was talking about the fact that he's so committed to his riding he actually moved to Raleigh North Carolina where he can focus and ride he actually spent a lot of time at Daniel Dhers private excuse me I should say public riding facility he's got a training center down there where other riders should go compete and practice I should say and you're seeing Lupo's go for that big transfer first rider we've seen this section of the competition go to do that step down you mount him hanging up a little bit front and back wheel the wind might have been a factor on that and he wound up going down so that means our four riders went of this heat we are going to go back to the top where we've got the Russian Alex nickel in bringing it on in all right so we're starting out with a similar approach but this time is we're talking about each turn up this time where she turned it down with that Flair run down over the channel right there so we talked about the approach riders trying to throw a few more topics on the Sunday Molly 540 Flair so much going on nickel and looking great yeah busting out the amplitude there mr. nickel in you know a big part of vmx is played when it counts and equal in after you get one solid run and you could say hey you know what the pressures off to some extent let me now do some tricks out there when the difficulty is increased obviously the odds go up that you could potentially crash but nickel and looking so good with that flare transfer he can throw sound Sally and and let the judges know what Jam that you know what I'm not winded at all I got this bar sweet coming back it's gonna wrap it up with a bowtie on the end of a bunt you see a little bit of camaraderie right there next rider go that is Martin rant ish get into position also getting a pound from UK's Jack Clark back there as we're looking at that backflip drop in and he actually was able to grab some transition also on that alley-oop flat spin flair 540 tail whip somewhere in between right now the level of riding is just crazy it's you basically just put in a blender shake it up how are you it's a tough one they're all there I think you could basically say they're all of the above did you say that was that was that was awesome let's just say that with an exclamation point highlighter another light Myron Renta rider who knows how to do a lot of those exclamation [Music] sixty double tail whip into a tail whip to barspin before Martin ran tests from Croatia it's one of our top could it it couldn't Wow most riders can't even clear the step up and he overshot and just completely talked on his back wheel oh my gosh you just heard the carnage thankfully he's able to put his hands up and look at that back wheel that is totally taco trite they're folded in giving way with the pressure far he overshoots completely to the bottom of transition there and the fact that obviously the wheel is no longer round it was like pulling an emergency brake his weight going forward fishtailing out a little bit and getting from oh no the bars again thankfully his okay imagine riding full-speed are very fast I should say it somebody just reached the bike out from under you a lot can go wrong thankfully appears to be okay year so that was morons second run that means that we still have two more riders yet to go and then moving right into cam peak he's dropping in now no time to wait one yeah baby tail up there like I said there is quite diversity within cam Peaks run because Oh see this is the difference within having a course that is not so familiar for the athletes when they have to change up their runs like this it makes our riding style as well change up a little bit and sometimes you can see some more bubbles some more unexpected crashes than we are used to seeing yeah Brian one thing we want to highlight is we're watching cam right now I'm he's really tough rider walking off the course you know definitely you have a lot of camp compassion out there cam get enough could be in a lot of pain and discomfort but one thing that we noticed when we have a little bit of a wider shot that you can see those flags it's not consistent out there so you know maybe when Mara and wild Atlantic flat maybe the wind died down a little bit and give it too much juice and maybe something similar might happen out there with cam but if you're gonna talk about juice as we mentioned he wanted her stop last year in he would have passed looking to put a number one and our first stop in Hiroshima this is the Australian Brandon Lupo's big backflip dropping off from Lupo's charging out and across with the bar spin over the channel like the way that he cut the corner on that flat bottom to set up didn't quite get transition but still seems to be holding on to his speed wow you can see Ross in the zone right now you can just tell the confidence level and he gets the transfer that is opposite direction he had some trouble with it the first time and then goes the distance and like you said he really seems to be on point here with his riding we've been talking about it the whole entire day how this course has changed the riding of most of the competitors and how this has really affected their runs however Brandon seems to be adapting so well and being able to bring his hard heavy pack impact style to this course and as well still keep that speed and that amplitude going to make the call on that so Luke boss came out of the out of the out of the start really charging and then having a little bit of difficulty finding his wine has been time around a winding down again 90-plus riders 12 are going to move I do not know if there will be enough for a loo post but look at the crowd right the jet heroes here are FEMA in for the crowd out here if you guys are just tuning in with us right now you're live with Ryan Meyer and Darryl now for the UCI BMX freestyle Park World Cup semi-finals out here of the filles World Series 2018 in Hiroshima Japan now Ryan we normally have a qualifier there's 90 plus riders and we wind up taking top 24 to the semi but it wound up raining out yesterday so that's why we got 90 riders in our semi-final and right now we are looking at 17 some of the highlights right here as cam peak that was a flat spin 540 so I pulled his body all the way up to his handlebars and we're gonna wait to see how those scores are looking as they wind up coming in as we got our necks before riders we're gonna be taking the course and warming things up while we're waiting for our scores to come in I'd like to take another moment right here and give a page out to another rider who's usually on tour with us but unfortunately he wound up experiencing an injury I'm talking about none other than Declan Brooks I got to tell you Declan you are always one of our favorites talking about Ryan and myself but also all the fans out there because you linked together such unique lines I know that this course definitely would have favored you Ryan and I could envision you up on top of that sub box doing some really cool manuals maybe the bar spinner out but we know that you're going to come back unfortunately he experienced a broken leg very gutted that he couldn't be here super disappointed but Declan we are cheering you on we can't wait hopefully you'll be back at the next stops in Montpelier where your Metallica fueled runs will be on if anyone wants to follow the life of a BMX rider you could get on there at Declan Brookes decl a n BR o o que se much-loved and willful recovery going your way my man yeah very upset when any rider winds up going down like that but we're gonna look at the standings as we're taking a look at our beautiful course so dowels still gonna hold strong with that 80 3.50 that is going to be your best single run score heat but Lumos right there with the seventy nine point nine zero and it nickel in with a seventy eight point five zero so those are your two riders and it looks into my rent is right there in eleventh place you just see some other highlights leap we're gonna go into twelfth with van Wallace but you see down there the legend himself Ryan Nyquist is 17th place maybe you guys can check out some of the highlights online follow us on social media Facebook fees Dogg official my twitter and our Instagram as well passing all your posts please Kirishima look who's on course none other than Jack Clark there's that infamous style that we love to see yeah Jack Clark out there powering through the flat-bottomed bunny hopping onto the side of that roller getting that momentum Darkseid are you doing I gotta check out here 540 bar spin whoa big air over that tabletop excuse me over that hip with the tabletop on the rotation around the capsule the first 30 we have a good chance of seeing jacking the top of that leaderboard come on Jack [Applause] that's 60 seconds jack mark you really just utilizing it right there see him give him a little bit a shout out to his home country proudly on his helmet right there also a little left with radio bikes cheering on and Jack Clark all their sponsors out here who not only sponsor the fees but also are individual riders you guys helped make it possible for our athletes to travel around the world and our next rider who traveled around the world all the way from California specifically USA rider and monster Ryan we talked about style and did not get any better than that bogging right there in the three I mean talking about a guy who was able to practice on some really interesting new art courses that the world has to offer bad setups in his own backyard mr. Pat Casey delivering good here on the course in Japan and you want to follow Pat Casey on his YouTube channel you could actually see his son Reed who's quite the Ripper and leaves you would have three years of age oh and Casey having a little bit of difficulty without to such a start a great start right there you saw on that Flair having a little bit of difficulties but Pat case he's got a cool YouTube channel where you can follow all of his adventures and you know what this ramp you mentioned his backyard ramp is very similar where the transitions are a little bit bigger than six feet they're very steep like this so in some way even though we're on the other side of the world I must say he maybe has a home court advantage to riding something very similar to this and it was showing up and to the point where he went up having a the difficulty out there we saw just coming a little bit under rotated on that flare going down thankfully landed into the transition if you do crash you want to try to land in the transition so you slide but there was that 360 toboggan totally dipping it out and getting the bars there's a look at that crash actually that 360 Morgan you dip the nose down who's so heavily it's amazing to see Pat Casey come out here and deliver such style in a run like that yeah punk the Pat Casey is reppin Team USA another rider for qiamat USA you see out there he has shaken a little bit with his arms trying to warm things up now he's smiling fire coming on out we're talking about Colt Walker charging drew Colton having a great 2017 actually X Games gold medal in BMX dirt in Minneapolis and he couldn't energy to the Peace World Series he in eighth place overall for the year and Colton right now Double Down side tail whip really good friendly who finished in fourth place overall last year who have yet to see ride on the course we cheer on right now as he kicks it downside tail whip Colt Walker cruising trying to keep that flow and he's doing it oh I smoked you soon going down on that flare Catholic trying to come across and over you saw just landed a little bit of hard didn't have enough gas in the tank to kind of get it floating but you can see right there those flags are definitely women in the wind you got to be very careful when it comes to the wind and you're throwing down difficult tricks it could blow you intentionally without enough speed and more maybe too much which might have been the case in Lauren radish where his tire blew out in half but let's look at Colton Walker and see what happened because he winds up coming around and you can see didn't have enough really drives a lot of force on that front end coming down you can see the total rider just washing out right there so the bird's-eye view as we roll along three riders have competed so far 19 18 and 19 but we are gonna move it over to the Russian amazing trick and course ability like it just goes everywhere there's such interesting things like that step up to foot gym one foot can into coping their tail up over the spine he'll whip to tabletop since this is an overall points race in 2017 Eric actually finished in seventh place his best finish being in Budapest with a third where he was awarded 8200 points ah Russian eunuch trouble there talked about our five judges want to see perfection this is a global points race where they are trying to rack up as many points as possible and you're gonna have a crash like that it's not going to favor your score this is the best run counts Brian we talked about that difference here it's not so uric right there I'm sure that score is gonna wind up being a wash for him you see right there there's Kosta Andre he who rocked the tide I got another Russian who was yet to go he's going to be in her next heat Kashia actually finished in sixth place one place in 2017 that means our first four riders 18 look at the hatcheck Clark right there I'm gonna drop in for run number two just digging in having a good time Clark right there wizard I was a that shows how steep back see now you know what I wanted I wanted I wish were actually on that box John Titor should say great future because we've actually seen more Ranta overshooting then we subject our company which is uncharacteristic for Jack what do you transfer so cool tech demo going back to that middle feature we saw Jeff and Martin overshoot it that wind could beautiful as it winds up gusting system to the middle of course you know as you said there's quote unquote wall around the winter pieces you don't know what you're gonna get now it's gusting it's kind of a lucky draw jack - super excited to be out here in Japan and that the audience is so big cheering on the BMX competitors right now look at that amazing spectators coming out to drones to watch this international field battling it out on force to see who's gonna make it into the finals for our show well Jack unfortunately having difficulty on super jump but for thankfully for us we got to see a little bit of a demo out there Jack Clark got the ability to toss the bars and saw that from that downside or dark side to Team USA Pat Casey right now children on sale go dad go yeah he's out here five seconds in you anyone with the toboggan he hits that one perfect straight on might I add that case he looked like he was one of the most comfortable riders on this course from his first run second run seems to be the same as he's flowing beautifully around this entire course a killer combination right there our spin straight into hell was seamless the way that he just kept that cadence consistent with his back end in front end now one thing to note Pat does have a free poster on his bike we've seen him in competition before where he can actually coast backwards without his cranks and engaging let's see if he winds up utilizing that as the clock is winding down Casey flair on the elevator for ten seconds let's see if he's gonna set up trying to adjust to speed coming into our spine there's that 180 I was talking about and he's gay nice solid run for mr. Pat Casey all the way from the start Bay completed and transfers to the end some technical tricks fishing off with that 180 and fakie so we talked about the weather and as the day progresses our riders got to try to stay warm out there they definitely have a little bit of the wind before but you can see Casey was in the zone would that tell what transfer coming across and here was a big gap that we've yet to see any other rider go finding it but that was the cream of the crop right there the bars been to tell if he has no brakes slowing down his bars just very smooth guiding it along when the rider we saw starting out a little bit of cold and then heated things up unfortunately got a little too hot and went up crashed on that flare transfer his Walker coming in front to talk about it only takes one run out here so Colton could shake the pack up we got our 12 riders who are gonna qualify and Chloe's got what it takes get Colton eighth overall last year calendar heavily related yeah down side 360 tab with back-end rotate [Music] longer double tail woo oh he could recover from that that was it was it a huge again you get his speed up here Ryan he could recover from that that wasn't a good game ending run right there wasn't game over let's see come on call me sometimes even the judges you could put together are still semi finals but we do have a long way to go see right there and you have windbreaker that is Nick Bruce it was gonna be in our next heat of riders along with Daniel Dhers in that white would breaker right there you see here - cries em actually ask him one of the riders to clear off the deck if Erica dies EV says you know what I'm like going over there let me get out of the way not only see the ball in the killer combos toboggan bunnyhop coming in charging whoa get how he transfer its so far over there through that foot jam and then it can't that was one of the highest errors we've seen so far back there you dick pool business out here and he is going a very big with that double tail whip no hander toboggan coming down barely grabbing that transition but as long as you do those are the crucial factors if your speed does not get zonked 15 seconds this is gonna really be an important time for him go foot jam I believe his other foot pedal thoughts no hander and yet ik putting down run number two so that is gonna be our last rider of heat 18 19 I mean one peep left one heat and one heat remains and that means that you just joined us and you're like hey what part of the contest aw it's almost over no you got here for a really exciting part that means that our four riders who have yet to go we're top finishers from last year they had the highest points at the end of 2017 and traditionally means that they will potentially get the higher scores of today and you will see some high-flying action as we're looking at Pat Casey go down on that flare right there here is a triple tail whip I believe one two three times around from Eric and there was that dark side Smith or toothpick bonk Jabbar spin downside double from calton there is a flair Buick right there on the upper Decker with that Flair as well look at the bird's eye as a crowd is just pouring in here to our former Municipal Stadium site is used to be a baseball site for our hero shields that loved baseball we wound up clearing it out making some room here they've rebuilt a new stadium and this serves into the perfect stomping grounds for our first stop for future World Series as our thousands of fans are pouring in and we're looking at this beautifully designed hurricane marks course we've got 19 different heats almost 90 riders out here we're about to because our last four riders again they were top finishers of last year so traditionally speaking they put out the goods when it counts and are able to get those top scores we're only taking two well moving on to the finals and Ryan a look at all those features from the capsules the elevated stage with their quarter pipes up on top we've got transfers we could go over that driveway gap and the one thing some like to say the elephant in the room think that it washes into the non elephant in the room there's no box jump here we want to take elephant there's one of the first these horses that do not have a box jump I mean the fees is known so well for having that massive it's not just a small box it's not just a box dump it's the fees box yeah and look at this pack AC 83 wanted to and Jack Clark so it's safe to say that they are both going to solidify themselves in the final but the thing to note since we're taking 12 we have four riders yet to go if you are Brandon Lu pose pose a Torres Gil Kyle Baldock or Alex nickel in that means that you could potentially get bumped out why are other four riders for eighth and up of Justin Dowell can intensity Oh Pat Casey Jack Clark Daniel biedermeyer jeremy mallet Nakamura rim is where it starts to get hectic because Joel Pandu and up you are in but Brandon Lu poses you down and we are not we have four riders yet to go the mentor are top of the finishers definitely one for these riders yet to come but what we might see out here this is a whole different ballgame there is no box jump in the middle we talked about the being a feature signature one face going all the way back to our first contest and Holly boss over 20 years ago I remember the iconic photo of tajmahal let's do one hand to tell if it locks jump and that was really set the standard that there's always a big box at feasts and now we're in 2018 and we're gonna see what the Russian cost you on that I Eve is going to bring to this course that does not feature in the nostril well we know that Koster is able to deliver on all parks and all different contests related to freestyle BMX let's see what he can deliver out here today talk no Heather o Channel gap and really not hitting transition on that next Channel whipped a bar right there on the hip [Applause] right there we see out the Liang is a favorite at our mini slime competition check it out his front look at some of the lists we have let's say in our top 20 this a lot of riders actually that I'm not familiar seeing in the top 20 of most of these events so if we equate this to the last four riders that we have coming maybe we're gonna see some you know some upsets maybe we're gonna see some shocking results coming from a few riders like Kostya and Nick gruesome or maybe this new format from the UCI is gonna help them and say okay yeah now they're gonna be able to come back and get that run that they wanted and that first one where they messed up isn't gonna vertical let's see what Nick Bruce is gonna deliver for his run he's always one to come out swinging huge combinations from this rider the big boy from Youngstown Ohio and puffing around the capsule talking about a rider that embodies a lot of power but also embodies the mental finesse that it takes to put things together mister positivity of self de croo severe transfer up you can follow a long mix adventure his Instagram trains on a daily basis not only a lot of physical aspects but after every session he pretty much jumps into an ice bath he takes a lot of control a lot of care of his body let's see as Nick transfers opposite direction yes come on X up double count-out side style time for so burgers popping up getting a little love with the crowd but you can say a lot of love if you're a fans out there cheer on the American on big towel if you're is real soggy landed a little bit low slight head shaking and it's awesome speed definitely take a lot of energy with Nick does train as I was meditating as that stamina Nick battled a lot of injuries it and it'll be here soon in action moving along to our next rider Alex Cole born he finished here UK rider haven't seen Colborne for a little bit excited to see what he has the Bulldog back on the fees of World Series before 2018 long distance whoa alright good line right there hitting that hip Colborne usually puts on it at jumping down during his entire run and then followed by that little trick demo let's see if he goes his signature style run right here going up brother we've seen getting it very clean I believe that was a foot jam balancing right on them front wheel icepick two cars and this is that demo that Colborne is known in the world barf poopin opposite direction 20 seconds up and over the spine along axis three barrel flip somewhere in between 540 parts made the foot jam Colborne very consistent ten seconds that run definitely had what it takes to potentially shake up the top 12-pack sitting on the bubble is now a sneak olympus more defeat is seventy eight point five will that be enough you can see a blasting IRA Japan Airlines quarterpipe get a lot of air onto that sub box with that would jam with little Pokemon top enough to get the momentum on the back as we said this much the only rider we've seen so far touch the water pipe yeah that means unfortunately Logan Martin you're second place rider of 2017 is out with an injury I know Logan is from cheering on and watching all the riders out there but he is very curious along with both of us to know what our next rider the 2017 defending champion coming all the way from Venezuela currently living in the Carolinas in the US of A and this is Daniel Dhers their rider and we're so familiar to see on top ability contest especially of the World Series as well very love when of course it really utilized all aspects of it we're seeing right now pretty why right there wall ride into that Holly you send himself up to come the opposite direction we talked about it being a thread on the course and Daniel really hitting a lot in the ranch out here on some speed so we're seeing isn't coming back there was an opposite air force are there on that's that signature move Oh from Daniel Dhers and 3/16 open and tail whip it's crazy that that's what he went down on out there cuz you mentioned it Sara Jersey and if it is a signature that means that you've done that trick countless times and it's unfortunate he did go down hopefully is gonna be ok you actually seems grab it by his backpack there's a chance he might have got a flat tire or something's going on with his bike it looks like he's me utilizing some tools you can actually see kyle balda out there has his bike potentially may be offering up a part could be a back tire maybe a little lower air it's a little hard to see from their house that year you really dissect that course he really was utilizing so many different features only thing I didn't see him used is that top corner section of the course but everything else I believe he hit yeah so right now you can see it looks like he's working on his sprocket he might have hung up so hard he hit his chain ring the sprocket that you chain dressed on on that spine I depended a little so Daniel will have another opportunity it's unfortunate he went down his head we were just saying Ryan he was looking great out there close to Andre Eve Russian stallion snap into tabletop okay there we go that's better transition [Music] Oh looking so check right there you see that five forty foot jam attempts with the variation right there now able to find the balance point foot going down we talk about are you see I really up in the ante up here the judges put down but we're seeing a lot of guys on this course having some difficulty not riding a hundred percent which they sometimes do on other forces but again it's a level playing field and I love seeing it after your tuck no-hander out of that foot Jam as we're looking at what our riders got what are their abilities capabilities this Casta bars been partially over the hip and that will wrap it up times two is a long time to be in the ring fighting it out and see that Flair upside down and backwards back flip 180 Acosta bar spin to barzmann max look cool so control and getting the cheer from our crowd oh just grabbing a sip as we have to excuse me three more riders yet to go the big boy Nick Bruce Youngstown Ohio Rockstar BMX just built up a fresh kit you can see his bike ready to go Nick riding on a regular basis out in Ohio you can see him at raised mountain bike park also Changa do I know Scott Powell right now is cheering on Nick Bruce as he drops in a lot of speed right there down that plow sitting up in that capsule going around our lawn or capsule the wall first rider so far today to hit that plexiglass 45-degree angle wall now for high and that's risky business the two things that you said do not mix with water plexiglass and 45 degrees was drizzling before at Nick Bruce roll the dice and let's see if they pay off but still very difficult features fifteen come on Nick yes that 540 flare right there get that full body standing up seconds flare around these are crucial come on deck tail with the buzzer nice big back peg right there rest the front building up against the subwoofer Nick Bruce getting it done doing his part of one too but it's gonna be the judges partners his first right here than seventy five point seven five and he's not the characteristic it was run but there's the wall ride distance coast to coast country to country you can actually see the Rangers on the wall they're pretty committed you are right there with that Nick throwing his thumbs up he's doing cue riders yet to go okay anything as well [Music] [Music] [Music] top 12 so you know what I'm gonna save it for tomorrow what one writer who cannot save it for tomorrow a champion feel - there's one rider again tonight dr. Damiano Moss every major edition including my hair overall champion in 2014 and at 17 without having that experience and without the matters [Music] see are you see - blowing in the wind all sarchie shock flag right there just flapping full-speed Daniel up on top of that sub box Daniel Dhers take a near perfect run he's got to have a score well into the 80s dares drop it in I [Music] like Daniel's approach right there surprised we haven't seen any other rider Daniel firing back 360 double fine and that nobody can but he also didn't have any trouble a little bit of a tag Oh [Music] Daniel's got to keep it together he hung up right there Flair let's see he might stick with tricks that he feels confident with on these quarter pipes here just try to ride out the clock bar spin and he's gonna wind up do it what to tell them coming back the flare can win now Brian good run right there in a second where you didn't have a crash but towards the second necessarily judges we just had 90 of the world's best out here obviously he's very very champion from 2017 he's got what it takes but we're seeing is it gonna be enough because again in the second half of the run he just fell into that spot did some comfortable I mean you were saying like from the very start of this of this broadcast we've been saying a playing field for all the riders out here all the riders on the exact same level they all have to do it not having a box jump on the course all have to deal with these changes which changes the entire way that they look at during a contest run but there are riders out there like for instance Alice Colborne who came out there heavy-hitting look at all the big combinations and he was too weak but then able to still do his dissection of a little demo a little tech demo at the very end of his but still ended up having fluidity throughout all these runs is it going to be enough to rival with Daniel Dhers what Daniel Dhers delivered into both of his runs I do not want to be a judge at this point we're gonna have to just wait and see what they come up with and what the delivery is when the scores are revealed for the last heat there as you see there are our inline athletes on the Park course right now we have a lot of different disciplines out there today make sure you guys stay tuned in just half an hour's time we're gonna be having the FI G parkour speed run finals happening for the first time on the fees livestream to make sure you guys stay tuned and stay all involved for that check us out fees world series.com and fees TV you can check out
