[MUSIC] Ladies and gentlemen please
welcome WWE Hall of Famer, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. [MUSIC] >> Shawn Michaels has come all the way
to Melbourne, Australia to stand in the corner and to have the back
of his best friend, Triple H. But he was reminded
this past Monday night, [MUSIC] How it feels when you suffer the wrath
of The Undertaker and his brother Kane. >> The Brothers of Destruction
laying waste to Shawn Michaels and his best friend Triple H. But HBK got on the plane,
spent the 16 hours in the air and is here to remind the world that he
is one of the greatest to ever do it. It is awesome to have a Hall of Famer out
here for what we're about to witness. >> Having fun now,
entertaining the WWE fans, but it's all business in a matter of moments. >> Yeah, it's his last little bit of fun,
before the real business starts. [MUSIC] >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] >> The COO looks mad as hell tonight. [MUSIC] >> You know from the first
notes you hear of Lemmy and Motorhead, someone's gonna
get their ass kicked. [MUSIC] >> The 14-time World Champion. Triple H told WWE Digital
today his mentality hasn't shifted heading into tonight. It just gotten more personal. 25 years based on respect, but
a lot of fight went into that respect. And tonight I'm gonna
take The Undertaker down. >> This is an absolute must win for
Triple H. He might be The Game right now, but tomorrow morning he's gonna have
to wake up and be COO of WWE. There is no way Triple H can live
the rest of his existence with the spectre of never defeating
The Undertaker haunting him forever. >> Triple H has not beaten The Undertaker
one on one in 16 long years. [MUSIC] >> The fact that we are witnessing
history, this book end on the storied rivalry between Triple H and
The Undertaker, this place is on fire. [MUSIC] >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] >> Ladies and gentlemen,
please welcome Kane. >> Remember, when Kane was
introduced to WWE, it was 1997, the Bad Blood pay per view event. The first ever Hell in a Cell match
between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. Kane made his debut that night. How things come full circle. >> I have been a lifelong fan of WWE,
and for me to be sitting here ringside,
my mind is blown to get to witness Kane making his way to the ring with
Triple H and Shawn Michaels. [MUSIC] >> I can guarantee you one thing,
after what he endured, after what they both
endured this past Monday, neither Triple H nor Shawn Michaels is
too happy to see the Big Red Machine. [MUSIC] One of the most destructive
forces ever in WWE [MUSIC] >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] >> In 1996, at a little-known tournament called Kuwait Cup, The Undertaker and Triple H went one-on-one for
the first time ever. Over the years,
they have battled inside Hell in a Cell, in No-Holds-Barred matches,
Elimination Chambers, Fatal 4-Ways, Royal Rumbles,
and Triple Threat matches. They battled inside Penn Station. They battled in a backstage brawl. And tonight, they battle for
the last time ever. [MUSIC] [SOUND] >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] >> Still the most awe-inspiring, most frightening entrance in
the history of sports entertainment. >> This is a raucous crowd here
tonight in Melbourne, Australia, but they just got an entire different feeling
over them as soon as that gong hit. [MUSIC] [SOUND] >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] >> [APPLAUSE] >> The following match is for the last time ever! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> This contest is scheduled for one fall, and as for now this
match will be no disqualification! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> [LAUGH] >> What? >> Hey, listen, Undertaker said Triple H
went corporate, that he's a suit now. >> Introducing first, from Greenwich, Connecticut, weighting in at 240 pounds, the King of Kings, The Cerebral Assassin, and the COO of WWE, Triple H! >> [APPLAUSE] >> His opponent, from Death Valley, weighing in at 302 pounds, The Phenom, The Undertaker! >> So I guess when you're the COO, you go
corporate, you use it to your advantage. You make this a No Disqualification match. >> I love it,
I have absolutely no problem with it. And you don't become The Cerebral Assassin
without overthinking every step you're gonna take in a match. >> [NOISE] >> Is it is a big fight feel in front of 70,309 WWE fans in
the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. >> The history of hate on
the faces of these two men. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> The iconic throat slash, the Rest in Peace symbol. [SOUND] We are underway. Triple H, The Cerebral Assassin,
The Phenom The Undertaker, and Triple H ducks out of the way. Does not want to get caught by one of the
best pure strikers in the history of WWE. >> [NOISE]
>> Triple H taunting the Deadman, trying to get inside
the mind of The Undertaker. >> And Triple H said the other week,
the end is near for The Undertaker. >> Look at this. Look at the disrespect from Triple H. >> Wow. >> And Triple H now unloading with
Undertaker in the corner, the right hands. Remember Shawn Michaels said
Triple H wins this thing, that Triple H has got more in the tank,
more left. But Undertaker,
looking to prove him wrong. Triple H into the corner,
misses again wildly with the rights. >> [NOISE]
>> The brash side of our COO. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Shawn Michaels up on the apron. >> This is the home of
Triple H week in and week out. I mean,
he's here every day doing the grind, whether it's in the ring or outside. >> Kane up on the apron now as well. Remember, no disqualifications
now in this match. >> Triple H said if he's worried
about a suit he's already lost. >> Remember the last time Triple H and
Undertaker had a match. It was inside Hell in The Cell. It was End of an Era at WrestleMania 28. The referee-
>> [NOISE] >> Shawn Michaels. >> One of my favorite matches of all time, I can't believe we're getting to
live through this one right now. >> Two titans of our industry. >> I had the privilage to be at ringside
to call that match the End of an Era. And tonight they battle once again,
one more time. >> I was at that match
just merely as a fan. Now to be here witnessing these
two icons battling it out- >> Undertaker gonna go up to the top rope, wanted to go Old School. Triple H would not allow it to happen. >> Triple H now returning the favor, trying to tear The Undertaker's
arm out of the socket. >> Yeah, burying the shoulder into
the upper chest of The Undertaker, continuing to work on the left arm. >> Guys, what would a loss for
Triple H tonight mean for his future and his reputation? >> He's not gonna try this, is he? Triple H is gonna-
>> Wait a minute. >> Is he gonna try to go
Old School on The Undertaker? Shawn Michaels is calling for
it, but no way! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Undertaker now, here comes The Phenom, the right hands burying
Triple H in the corner. And a big right drops
Triple H to the mat below. >> To your question, Renee, a loss tonight
would be catastrophic for Triple H. Not only for his ego, not only for
his pride as a competitor, but to walk into the WWE offices,
knowing that he lost what could be one of the biggest matches of
his life against The Undertaker. It would destroy Triple H's
psyche permanently. [SOUND] Again, Triple H knocked down
with a heavy shoulder, by the Phenom. >> Let me ask you this Renee,
in your opinion, what would a loss tonight mean for
The Undertaker? >> We've seen Undertaker in upsetting
situations, when the streak ended to Brock Lesnar Seeing what that
reaction was like even backstage, I wonder about what
the reputation is of Undertaker. >> Undertaker goes old school. [SOUND]
>> [APPLAUSE] >> The legacy that he's built what the WWE universe will remember the undertaker for
can't be a loss tonight. >> I think you said the magic word Renee
legacy, both of these superstars with two of the best legacies in
the history of sports entertainment. Neither one must get a tarnish
here tonight in Melbourne. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> The greatest streak in sports was 21 straight wins,
at WrestleMania for The Undertaker. He has more Pay-Per-View
wins than any superstar, in WWE history, 101. Can you fathom that, 101 wins in
Pay-Per-Views for The Undertaker? >> [NOISE]
>> Undertaker now scooping Triple H a little bit of Snakeeyes. >> [NOISE]
>> No. >> Triple H, usually Undertaker follows
Snakeeyes up with a big boot, but Triple H caught him with
a high running knee. These two have had so much time to stake each other
out throughout their careers but also the time being built up to prepare
for this match, they've known it's coming. >> [NOISE]
>> Shawn once again up on the apron, that slight
distraction, you saw the hesitation. >> Uh-oh. >> If Undertaker looked back at Shawn,
look out. Will the Undertaker pay? And Triple H. >> With fists full of the Deadman's hair. >> On the top rope. >> Shawn Michaels driving
Undertaker into the post and now trying to get out of harms way
from The Big Red Machine Kane. >> This is where being
the COO pays dividends. The referee wasn't aware of the situation
of Shawn Michaels involvement but either way,
even if he wants it's No Disqualification. >> Indeed, and now Triple H goes back
out to take the fight to The Undertaker. >> [NOISE]
>> Undertaker into the barricade spine first. >> [NOISE]
>> Come on Triple H, get him back into the ring. Come on, bring him in the ring. >> It's gotta give Triple H a little
boost of confidence to have one of the all-time greats and his best
friend Shawn Michaels at ringside. To guide him, to give advice if need be, in these-
>> My Lord. >> Tough situations. >> And you think of the powers that
were conjured having The Brothers of Destruction united once again. >> Yeah but right now, it is all Triple H, keeping a wary eye on
The Undertaker's brother. >> It's almost as if Triple H
is trying to go to Kane. >> Look at Shawn Michaels now,
setting up some hardware, again legal. This is a No Disqualification Match,
Triple H better turn around. >> [NOISE]
>> Come on Kane back it up. >> A bit of a standoff here between
HBK and The Big Red Machine. >> Come on. >> [NOISE]
>> And Triple H looking to use this
table to his advantage. >> Uh-oh, Triple H looking for a Pedigree. >> Yeah but look at the body drop by
the Undertaker and Triple H hit hard. >> Tailbone first. >> I think it knocked
the wind out of The Game. I see him wincing, gasping for breath,
allowing the Deadman to capitalize. >> And
now using the steps to his advantage. >> [NOISE]
>> He almost saw the Pedigree there Graves what do you think's more impactful,
the Pedigree or the Tombstone? >> I've never been on the receiving end
of either one and I would hate to guess. >> Ask Triple H he suffered the Tombstone
this past Monday Night on Raw. And there's Triple H burrying knees into
the side of the face to the Undertaker again, and a swinging neckbreaker
Triple H quickly to the cover. Is it enough to put Undertaker away? And a kick out by the Deadman. >> [NOISE]
>> The King of Kings now standing
over a fallen Undertaker. >> This is awesome, [APPLAUSE] this is
awesome, [APPLAUSE] this is awesome, [APPLAUSE] this is awesome,
[APPLAUSE] this is awesome. [NOISE]
>> Triple H teeing off and the Undertaker, all fighting back. A right to the gut, and another one, and here's the Undertaker,
>> [NOISE] >> Best striker ever, that uppercut dropped Triple H. >> [NOISE]
>> Deadly combination. >> [NOISE]
>> Triple H sensed it coming, down goes Taker. >> Again, Triple H for
the win tonight and a kick out at two. >> [NOISE]
>> I've gotta be honest with you this has been a
lot more one sided affair than I expected Triple H has dominated
the majority of this matchup. >> [NOISE]
>> A little help from Shawn Michaels earlier on, Triple H off the second
rope got caught by the Undertaker, this isn't gonna be pretty. >> [NOISE]
>> Not at all as Triple H is sent over the ropes to the floor, to the barricade. >> [APPLAUSE] [NOISE] >> Now Shawn Michaels, was checking on Triple H and moves out of the way as the Undertaker
comes down to the floor. >> [NOISE]
>> And Triple H driven into the barricade and
now into the time keepers area. >> My God look out get the hell
out of here, get out of there. >> [NOISE]
>> Undertaker, >> [NOISE] >> Tearing apart the announce table. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Stuff flying everywhere. >> [NOISE]
>> Come on Shawn. >> And Sean Michaels he
better get out of harm's way. >> HBK better be careful, or
you're gonna earn the wrath of a Deadman! >> No! >> Triple H back to his feet. Shawn Michaels,
again doing his job as he took the attention of the Undertaker
away from the Game, it allowed Triple H now,
to go back on the attack. >> [NOISE]
>> On the WWE universe- >> [NOISE] >> This is all perfectly legal, no disqualification, and
the Deadman's giving chase. >> [NOISE]
>> These two men, gonna fight all over
the Melbourne Cricket Grounds. >> [NOISE]
>> Triple H is trying to get away from the Undertaker and can't. >> [NOISE]
>> They're battling over there,
that's the tech area over there. And now Undertaker stalking
Triple H through the WWE Universe, but the Cerebral Assassin is not done yet. >> Triple H isn't going
down without a fight. >> He's looking for a Pedigree,
looking for a Pedigree again. >> Uh-oh. >> [NOISE]
>> It looks like a aection of the guard rail that
Triple H was just crashed on to. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Sharp right hands from the Deadman. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Can't make out where they are in the arena,
I know it's off to our left here. >> This is such a massive structure,
they could be anywhere. >> [NOISE] [APPLAUSE]
>> He's parting the sea of humanity. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Triple H is trying to get away from The Undertaker,
but Undertaker still in pursuit. >> He got him. >> [NOISE]
>> And Undertaker trying to drag Triple H
back to the ringside area. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Dragging Triple H's carcass. >> They're making their
way back toward ring side. >> No.
>> Look out, guys. >> Right back into
the timekeepers area again. >> [NOISE] >> What does Undertaker have in mind, just continues to punish The Game. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> What's he thinking? >> Anything he wants,
it's no disqualification. >> Shawn Michaels just
ran into a right hand! HBK floored, and
now Undertaker has a steel chair. >> [NOISE]
>> Shawn found himself a little bit
too close to the action. This allowsTriple H to capitalize. >> Yeah, Triple H able to counter,
and now Triple H has the steel chair. He can do anything he wants with it,
he makes the rules. And a big boot, down goes Triple H! >> Undertaker sensed it
just in the nick of time, and The Deadman's boot
found Triple H's jaw. >> [APPLAUSE] >> And The Undertaker with a weapon
in hand is not a pretty sight. >> [NOISE]
>> And now Shawn and Triple H trying to regroup
and Undertaker again in pursuit. >> Well, notice HBK is a little more
tentative since he caught a right hand on the chin. [SOUND]
>> Man. >> Chair right to the spine. >> [NOISE]
>> Again, burying a chair right in
the midsection of The Game. >> Come on, Taker, put it down. Put it down. >> The Cerebral Assassin at this very
moment is at the mercy of The Phenom. >> Led around by his
head by The Undertaker. >> No. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> The hell is Undertaker planning to do here? >> I don't think we're gonna have
to wait too long to find out. This is the last time ever
Undertaker is gonna reach deep, ooh! >> And Shawn Michaels. >> My God!
>> Just ran into a boot, a big boot by The Undertaker and
dropped off the apron, Shawn may be out! >> Yeah, but in doing so, Shawn might have
just saved Triple H from certain disaster. No, no, no.
>> What the hell? There's no way, no way, no way. And a chair caught The Undertaker, I thought Undertaker was
gonna take to the sky. >> [NOISE]
>> I have a feeling you're absolutely right, Triple H knew that, wait a minute. >> And now Kane gets involved and
Kane now comes to the aid of his brother, The Undertaker. He's got Triple H and Shawn Michaels. >> We almost saw a replay of what we had-
>> Sweet Chin Music! >> Super kick! >> A little bit of Sweet Chin Music. And now Kane's on the table. >> Shawn Michaels promised
to brush back Kane. >> And Triple H with an elbow
through Kane, through the table. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> HBK lived up to his promise that he's gonna brush Kane
back with a little Sweet Chin Music if the Big Red Machine got to close. Triple H with the exclamation point
driving Kane through the table. >> Triple H looks furious. This is his house. He's worked so
hard to build all aspects of WWE. >> And he's taken every step he can. Off the top rope with the steel chair,
caught by The Undertaker. High risk maneuver by Triple H,
Undertaker, chokeslam! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> The Dead Man looks like he's beginning to fade. Does The Undertaker have enough
left to finish off The Game? >> Triple H struggling back to his feet. Undertaker, looking for
the Tombstone Piledriver. To Triple H, center of the ring,
Tombstone Piledriver! The cover on Triple H. And The Game got the shoulder up! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> I know I saw it, but I still don't believe I saw it. Triple H just kicked
down to the Tombstone. >> Undertaker is in disbelief. >> [NOISE]
>> For all the years that he's been-
>> [APPLAUSE] >> Referee Mike Chioda dropped by a furious Deadman. >> Undertaker's doing anything it
takes to walk away with this very last victory in this rivalry. >> No disqualification,
Undertaker pointing at Shawn Michaels and saying, you're next. >> [NOISE] >> Undertaker brushing back HBK with a steel chair, Triple H trying to
find his way back into this fight. >> There is no official now in this match. >> [NOISE]
>> Undertaker continues to punish The Game. >> [NOISE]
>> Are you watching? Are you watching? >> [NOISE] >> The Deadman is not done yet. Center of the spine! >> Echoing off the walls. >> Absolutely sickening thud. >> Steel on flesh. >> [NOISE]
>> Undertaker almost allowing Triple H to regain
some sort of composure to mount some sort of offense just so
Taker could put him back down again. >> Yeah, put him out of his misery,
end this once and for all. >> My goodness, you see that chair bend? >> [NOISE]
>> This is sickening to watch. >> It is, it's horrific. >> [NOISE]
>> Steel chair was just mangled across
the spine of The Game. >> No. >> No, no, don't do this. This is too far. >> Undertaker wants to end Triple H's
career, wants to end everything, and now Shawn Michaels pleading, begging. >> [NOISE]
>> No, this is too much. Come on, please, Taker. [NOISE]
>> Remember this at End of an Era. And now Shawn from behind! A right hand right to the nose! >> Shawn Michaels thought
about getting involved and Undertaker was having none of it. >> Shut down in moments. >> Shawn Michaels trying to do everything
he can to protect his friend, Triple H. And a Spinebuster from out
of nowhere from The Game. >> And once again, HBK pays dividends,
allowing Triple H just enough time to recover to drive
the Dead Man into the canvas. >> Who can rally? Who can gain the upper hand? Both of these icons doing their best
to muster the strength to get back to a vertical base to
continue this battle. >> Triple H midsection, hooking The
Undertaker, looking for it, looking for the Pedigree, here's the Pedigree! >> Pedigree, new referee's in the ring,
there's a new official in the ring, Pedigree hit by Triple H,
here's the cover, hook to the leg. Got him, no, kick out at two. >> It doesn't get any closer than that
without the the bell ringing, and the same disbelief that washed over the face of
Undertaker is now shown on Triple H's. >> Triple H looks gutted, he was half a count away there
from walking away with this win. >> And now Triple H trying to do
the same thing to The Undertaker. >> Think we're about to find out just how
vile, how despicable Triple H can be. >> [NOISE]
>> Does The Game have enough to seal the deal? >> [NOISE]
>> Undertaker is defenseless, he's helpless. He's got a chair wrapped around his neck. Triple H for the second round. >> My God! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> That has gotta be it- >> One, two! >> [NOISE]
>> Kane! >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Can he pull the official out of the ring, Triple H had The Undertaker. >> That would have been it! >> Did Kane save the match-up for his brother or
is he just prolonging the suffering? >> Triple H has collapsed the steel
chair around the neck of The Undertaker. >> Both of these men have given it
everything they have and then some. >> Something has to give. Undertaker's down. Triple H is down. >> Triple H at this point has got
to be asking, what's the answer? >> My goodness. >> Is there an answer? >> There is an answer. Shawn Michaels has it his hand,
Triple H's patented sledgehammer. >> The fate is sealed in this match. >> [NOISE] >> Kane,
handing a chair to The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels handing
a sledgehammer to Triple H. Will it end this way? >> It's gonna have to. This is the last time ever. Which one of these
legends is gonna go down? >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Two old gunfighters, weapons in hand. >> [SOUND]
>> [NOISE] >> Undertaker is down! There's a cover but there's no referee. There is no referee in the ring! Two officials have been taken
out of this match-up thus far, and the carnage continues. >> Can we get another rep down here? Let's go! >> The match continues after Triple H
drove a sledgehammer into The Undertaker! >> Triple H vowed that
tonight he would put- >> Look at this, look at this! Hell's Gate! >> Hell's Gate is in! Hell's Gate is in! Is Triple H gonna tap? >> Aah! >> The patent submission
hold by The Undertaker. >> A hunter's fading. >> That has taken out some of
the all-time greats, The Hell's Gate! But again, there's no official,
and both men exhausted. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Given everything they have. >> Undertaker's in rough shape. >> So is Triple H. >> Two superstars who've literally
done everything there is to do in this industry, asking themselves
now what do I have left? What more do I have to do for
one final victory? >> If anyone knows how to do it,
unfortunately, it's both of these men
who gets there first. >> The Undertaker had his sights fixed
on the sledgehammer of The Game. >> Yeah, but
Shawn Michaels has it in hand. And now, Kane,
coming to the aid of his brother. >> HBK went low! And Undertaker sends HBK over
the top rope and out the other side. >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Shawn Michaels has been eliminated from the fray
as has The Big Red Machine. You can hear Undertaker gasping for
breath. Something has to give here. We've seen everything. Hell's Gates and,
>> Pedigrees. >> Tombstones, pedigrees and
sledgehammers. Chairs. >> [NOISE]
>> And now Undertaker has Triple H's
sledgehammer, but wait a minute! Body drop,
Undertaker says let's do this like men! Let's do this one on one! Forget the weapons,
chokeslam by The Phenom! >> Here comes another Tombstone. >> Sweet Chin Music from
Shawn Michaels to The Undertaker! >> But Undertaker's still up! And he blocked it! And now Shawn Michaels! >> Triple H with
the sledgehammer in hand again! >> Off the face of The Undertaker! Triple H with the sledgehammer
off the face of The Undertaker! Again! Sweet Chin Music into a pot of gold! >> This is it!
>> Cover by Triple H! [SOUND] The Game with the win! [MUSIC] Here is your winner, Triple H! [MUSIC] >> And with that, it's over. >> Unbelievable, what a last match, last time ever for these two icons. >> For the last time ever, both of these superstars left it all in the ring. Triple H looked like he was about
to meet his final moments, but HBK to the rescue with a couple of Sweet
Chin Music which would open the door- >> Boom! >> For Triple H to connect, sledgehammer
between the eyes of The Undertaker. Another superkick and the Pedigree
would be the exclamation point on the final chapter between The Game and
The Phenom. >> What a celebration between
these two best friends. [MUSIC] >> It took everything they had. >> What a relief for
Triple H that he can walk into the WWE headquarters with this
victory under his belt. >> Triple H very emotional tonight
with the victory over The Undertaker because one of the greatest rivalries in
sports entertainment history is over. >> Triple H has gotta feel like the weight
of the world was just lifted off his shoulders. All the blood, sweat,
and tears sacrificed for this business for WWE to be the game. It was all worth it. [MUSIC] >> And
to do it against his greatest rival. >> Alongside his best friend. [MUSIC] >> What a battle for the ages. [MUSIC] A nod of acknowledgement from The Deadman. [MUSIC] >> [APPLAUSE] >> We've all been through
enough haven't we? >> [APPLAUSE]
>> Do we call it a draw? >> Yeah. >> [APPLAUSE] >> How iconic is this moment? You have witnessed history [NOISE] and
an era has ended. Two gladiators who have
given all of themselves realizing they will never meet again. [NOISE] And sharing the ring with two
men who have shaped their careers >> [APPLAUSE] >> What an incredible night here in Melbourne, Australia, as we wrap things with four of the all-time greats. One Hall of Famer,
three more who will one day join him. A standing ovation from over
70,000 plus here in Australia. A moment that will never
again be revisited. [MUSIC] Four men who have made our
industry what it is today. [MUSIC] My God, my God,
Triple H in trouble, a Tombstone! Shawn floored by a right by Kane! >> [APPLAUSE] >> Shawn Michaels trying to fight back,
trying to fight back. The Brothers of Destruction
are not done yet. Triple H has been taken out. >> My God. >> By a Tombstone piledriver. And now Kane and
The Undertaker punishing Shawn Michaels. >> [NOISE]
>> Years and years of pent up frustration. >> But why now? >> Because of what happened tonight. Because Undertaker did not
want it to end that way. >> We just witnessed
the ultimate show of respect. Now, this is the ultimate
show of betrayal.
