the bell world championship veteran from scotland victor laughlin and now the officials are ready the fighters are in the ring and they are ready so for the thousands in attendance and the millions watching around the world ladies and gentlemen let's get ready to rumble introducing first fighting out of the red corner with his head trainer mark ramsey wearing red with black and officially weighing in at 17 stone one pound three ounces his professional record is a perfect one 26 fights 26 victories including 18 wins by knockout originally from kali colombia but now living training and fighting out of montreal quebec canada he's the undefeated nabf nabo and ibf international heavyweight champion the number five ranked heavyweight contender in the world oscar kaboom [Music] and across the ring fighting out of the blue corner with his trainer mark tibbs in his corner wearing black with purple official weight 18 stone two pounds as a professional in 26 heights he has 25 victories 18 wins by knockout only one defeat and over the last four years he's undefeated with nine consecutive victories including six wins by knockout the former british heavyweight champion former wbo wbc international heavyweight champion and current wbc silver heavyweight champion the fighting pride of brixton london england wbc number one ranked heavyweight contender in the world jillian the capitals so after a very very long wait they've been sat in their dressing rooms for quite a while dylan white and oscar rivas can finally get it on for the wbc interim title that was announced late on wednesday it's yet another time but dylan white just puts it on the line that number one ranking against another dangerous opponent in the colombian base north of the border in montreal oscar rivas it's scheduled for 12. as ever with heavyweight boxing we have no idea what's going on unfold all we do know is rivas carries the unbeaten record white's only defeat against anthony joshua relatively early in his career now both these two full of confidence go back to the weight issue and you look at dylan white coming in he's definitely carrying quite a bit around the midsection there that does not look like he's in great condition at all yeah i'm quite surprised at that actually that he's uh that the way that he's carrying this does look to be midwife body fat which is something a heavyweight fighter doesn't really need that much it's good to have a little bit extra padding for those heavy body blows but i would take muscle over fat any day and certainly rivas is ripped i was just about to say there's no shortage of muscle [Applause] his lats and his shoulders are massive he's in very very good condition sharp start this by white yeah getting the double jab going early and rivas happy to come forward see if he can force the bigger man onto the back foot they're both looking to work the body but remasters certainly come with bad intentions here that much is already obvious inside the first couple of minutes of this fight rivas looks like the real thing here and white is going to have to earn his way to a shot at that title there's his signature left up to the body that is the body shot an absolute peach of a shot from white when he lands that's clean reenas took that one pretty well yeah but you don't want to be taking those early neck you know like one of those around a couple of those around it's like putting money in the bank for the later part of the fight most certainly see your opposition slowing down quite considerably if you're landing heavy body shots early really went for the big one over the top there and uh missed pretty sadly yeah dangerous looking for the next step really it loaded up didn't he's not holding anything back here nice solid sharp jab there from reverse stamp is authority there's no question well i'm at home here i'm comfortable my ring got the center of the ring yeah forcing white backwards seems to be controlling the tempo as well good variety in there he's nice and cam under pressure as well we've as you can see dillian fainted him over and over then and he he didn't overly panic or or you know put his gloves around his head he never reacted negatively he was very very calm yeah very uh yeah interesting first round that well we don't know he's the real deal ramsay now going to work as well came out really fast here rivas and prompted the early reaction from white but there was no feeling your way in taking it steady from oscar rivas if you're a late arrival to the o2 good luck finding a seat [Applause] [Music] for the wbc's interim heavyweight title the winner will get a shot at upgrading that sometime probably in the new year certainly the talk the pre-fight talk which is always a risky game to play is that if white wins that he'll keep busy with another fight around december time by which time the dust will have cleared and he should be on deck for his shot of the full title [Applause] it's a sign of his intentions here rivas yep still a good job for the body from valiant nice to stand right in the end [Applause] bouncing off gloves and arms but uh really is coming and bringing some heat i don't think all we got with the right hand there we've got frank bruno off his seat and white is going for the big finish early here the second round and rivas is under real pressure wobble rocked shaken coming back they're both just going for it here swinging for the fences as early as the second round rematch has recovered really well that body shot wow that got everybody fired up sure about everyone's on their feet dullian loves the tear up though this will suit him oh yeah it will but i tell you what remax is biting down to that gum shield and saying you want to go let's go [Applause] not intimidated at all the colombian [Applause] [Applause] one of those left hooks will probably detonate shortly if they're going to be training in in the trenches like that dylan catching most of them on his gloves oh he's coming back with that counter left hook just takes one of those nick would be in for a short night good solid jabs absolutely traded jabs and slips a right hook around the back of the guard as well double jab still working for white solid on his feet rebus quickly balance well he recovered really well after being put under intense pressure very good physical condition yeah and that's the question about why how well conditioned is he carrying that extra poundage [Applause] missing badly that's read that love [Applause] anytime you get frank bruno off his seat you've done something right and he just opened him up here white but rivas's response was very impressive he just wrote it out and then came back with some stuff of his own there's that long raking right cross and white sensed that the legs had gone a little bit and just went for him but he handled himself you talked about this before he handles pressure very well he rode this out so well didn't he then he'd settle down got his shape back pushed right back okay don't overdo it yeah round three then [Applause] terrific start to this scrap [Applause] let's see if white can find a breakthrough big swinging punches that he's uh looking to unload as well a little bit of distance he's attacked must be a little bit more patient make sure good position to come up with a left hook or an overhand right when he dips and rolls and probably still at this point just trying to test the lame white out just trying to get a feel for his power and for his accuracy as well you know he doesn't want to be touched with anything this early from dylan white especially not body shots we know how hard and heavy a bunch of dylan white white's got problems with his range in the uh early going in this third round and there he's missing again rivas just stepping out of range just trying to snap the jab keep reevas off balance keep him guessing a little bit good head movement from us again he's doing a great job of making dylan white miss here yeah he really is he's very very fluid doesn't he even though he's predominantly a front foot fighter he's uh very very fluid he's got a good natural rhythm you can see him looking for gaps to possibly put something in it can cause a little bit of damage dylan white doing the right thing on it just trying to keep him busy with the jab and keep him guessing all the time and keeping him off balance possibly a little bit more counter punching from delaying white as well would go down quite well maybe try and take away good body shots from dylan right there they're going to really pay off later on do a deep breath and then just kept coming again that reeves inside the last minute of this third round which has been a much more stayed affair after the explosion that we saw in the second both guys keeping very very high guards very respectful of each other's power three of us struggling to land anything clean and that certainly didn't land clean but uh white has had range issues in this third round as well loads of success with that jab really really effective it's really keeping oh good right hand shopping right hand there and remasters so soak that up wasn't even a dip at the knees took that really well good job good run from dolly and white one thing we just learned about oscar rivas he can take a shot yeah he sure can you've got to do that that's standard yeah yeah let me stand there [Music] phenomenal do that and your time will come do that again don't over reach your time will come [Music] foreign [Music] mark and jimmy tibs were very very happy with dylan white's work with the signature highlight reel shot right at the end of that third round as well that's the exclamation point on a pretty impressive three minutes from him did a nice job of making him miss in the first half of that round but he didn't do much himself couldn't land anything yep note and then did get tagged yeah but you've got you're doing the the credit that like that good jabs keeping rebus honest it's keeping them very very honest it's got them thinking a lot looking a little bit more relaxed now than what it was a couple hours previous and reverse looking a little bit more circumspect with his attacks it's all done with that good jab nick it's um it's keeping him it's keeping him honest it's keeping him guessing he's uh he's really unsure whether or not he should spring an attack because he's walking into that jar then does get a little bit close up dillian will start to like the body shots go there it is again he keeps sending out these uh double jabs mixing up the old single jab in there as well but as you say it's just remus is just off balance with it all what's coming next and again he's struggling to land clean here reverse ellen has definitely got reverse respect now he's known as kino as gung-ho as he was in the first round [Applause] it a couple rounds you'll start start to see them probably open up a little bit more than what it is at this point in time let's start putting some combinations together of course unless a fight breaks there's a lovely jab again you know he could he could easily win the fight just with that jab alone yeah yeah just keep popping that jab out just create that little bit of space between himself and rivas he's got the longer arms he's i would probably go as far as he's got the quicker hands and it's a nice steady pace for him as well now so again really loading up big time there rivas you do wonder what might happen if rivas can land one of these big right hands but they do look a bit crude it's only going to take one mistake if he can pounce on it reverse there could be a game changer that right hand of his much steadier round dominated by [Applause] a little bit close he's going to move his feet get a little bit closer they're meeting it then okay yeah yeah yeah yeah very very nice there it is that lead hand working very effectively behind it isn't he and at the moment revas doesn't really have much of an antidote [Music] round five then of this scheduled 12-round at the montreal-based colombian oscar evas has not had the best couple of rounds he's the one that needs to just change the direction of this one at the moment white built for power and bulk specifically for this fight he's in a bit of a comfort zone and that fast positive start of revas that we saw in that first round well old white mist there he's very very heavy on his legs there why it was never going to connect with that but that fast positive start looks like it's faded away a bit for reverse now he's having a go there but it was all a bit messy this jab's really bothering reverse he just can't get in the pocket at all giving him lots and lots to think about rivas just not engaging at all now like i said in the last round as well nick i said delhi and we'd probably start to know that he's you know got his range and he's controlling rivas with a jab it will start to get a little bit gallus now and you'll now see deland throw some some what would what you would like to call picked punches but they'll probably be quite wild well but effective he knows what works for him speaking of wild that rivas right hand is is all over the place you do wonder what would happen if he does connect clean but it's yeah it's just everywhere at the moment at this point yeah he's got to get inside dillian's jab and try and shorten down the sort of gap between deland's left shoulder and and his left shoulder but it doesn't seem like he can get into that position dillian's totally controlling him with a jab in the locker in the long range punches now so yeah there goes the body shots once he starts sitting on those and trying to sink them in [Applause] he loves a war as well what he's really hoping for is that rivas will stand and trade with him so he can start responding in his own his own fashion working on just hitting the target his jabs are falling short that right hand is just well it's clearly a weapon it's just firing blanks at the moment there's just nothing coming through and nicely covered up and blocked there he did get a body shot through revas but he's just not landing with any kind of consistency at all if he starts getting if he also starts getting walked down by delhi and then backed up this might if that if that becomes continuous for two to three rounds we could we could see the fight ending yeah in that fashion because being pressured and walked down from a taller heavier manner he's got you on your feet are you excited about this how you seen it so far he's a nice guy and he's doing very very well the dangerous dangerous guy he's fighting all he's got to do is be smart use his jab it's easier said than done being out here but to use his jab i don't get involved in his walk because the guy wants a war with him but i'm praying for him to do well just keep his head and keep him smart what do you think mark tibbs will be saying to him in the corner just keep it long you know i mean he's open to a left hook but he's got him keep he's got plenty of time to catch up with him i'm not mark tipsy's i don't know what he's saying but all he needs to do is keep it long use his jab and move i don't get involved with no war with this guy he's a dangerous dangerous human being sir nice one frank thank you the thoughts there are former holder of this belt frank bruno ringside [Music] it's interesting what frank said there because you said white would be happy to get involved in a brawl in the territory but frank says no just stick stick to this this is worse this is working carry on more of the same you try telling dillian wait that so far he's kept that focus [Applause] like i said like if if he starts walking weave us down and backing them up the fight could come to an end because you know the pressure from the bigger heavier guy you know he's not the most agile cat as a reaver so he's not gonna move the feet and duck and dive and slip and slide along the ropes he's gonna be right there to hit i tell you that was a much better right hand for reverse and white just slipped inside it and that's going to start messing with rebounds because he can't he can't land it yeah i mean the wild one's okay you know they're going to miss yeah but that was a good one just cannot get that right hand on target at all at the moment here he's got the measurement this is actually a really good performance yeah of course of course he's um he's going above the right way there's a right hand over again [Applause] [Music] apart from having that absolute row with him was that the second round yeah yeah but that's when he had him wobbled and he thought oh i can get him out of there and revaster his credit regrouped very very well and then white went okay let's go back to plan a because plan a is working plan a is not working for rivas wait to see what mark ramsey can do to change things around as another white right hand that's just ceiling wasted of it waste of effort they do always say it only takes one but how many is it gonna have to throw it over there there's not been very accurate so far it's not like he can even time white's jab and come over the top of the right hand seems to be being totally beaten to the punch by the jab which has totally ruined his game it's offset him so much he's uh [Applause] [Music] coming forward last few seconds of this sixth round jabbing as consistently as effectively as this not at any other point in his career it's certainly utterly bamboozled in oscar rivers because they'll have watched film on him yeah they won't have seen this dylan white he said you're are you're [ __ ] serious we all understood the sense of urgency from mark ramsey who will know as well as the rest of us that this fight is skidding away from oscar rivas if you say he did enough to take the first round i think he's taken anything since and it's just thud thud thud thud that double jab over and over again nothing simple rather simple rather nothing flashy just effective simple and rivas cannot deal with it round seven going to the second half of this 12 rounder no tear-ups no wars here from the brixton man south london feeding the words of frank bruno which you wouldn't have heard of course the ringside just carry on doing what you're doing work behind that jack rivas obviously was urged onto more effort frank bruno in his red jacket there standing up it's that brave person sat behind him that would tell big frank to sit down it's also a great shame and whoever's behind them oh good attack from weavers there yeah the body work is good yeah going and smiling i don't think any of that had much effect a lot of flurry of activity though that uh reevas has had some success very very durable he is he doesn't want to be taking too much more of this he can't land the power punches upstairs so he's going to go to the body on game late night shot from going beautifully moving his job you watch this terrific technique right back on the jab really good and there's the signature left hook to the body very clever our david price from emily touch the head first with the left hook light quick shot and then transfer all the way over and get the heavy left hook to the body and it's impressive stuff from heavyweights it's the kind of stuff you expect from people like canelo and the lighter weight fighters but when you see the big fellas doing that it's really impressive to watch very very eye-catching [Applause] and how disheartening will that be for rivas that he's just put in that big shift [Applause] and he's paying the price for it yeah another left hook to the body there coming in from white who's happy boxing on the back foot here really bangs the body doesn't greatest punch in boxing nick if you want to be a great great fighter you have to have a great job [Applause] [Applause] round you can clear this you can see they're clearly slowing us down here you can you can see it even his even his feet weren't going forward now [Music] [Applause] rivas going for the big right hands upstairs again [Applause] the o2 arena and it's a very mature intelligent performance this so far from dylan white the guy that does like to just stand toe-to-toe be one of those crowd pleasers get involved mix it up but here very strictly business very effective work as well now rivas changed it up a little bit there trying to get rough with the elbow had some success but the thing that impressed me there alex was after this little flurry white came straight back at him and said okay you had your fun now i'm gonna have mine and he just got straight back on his jab landed a few decent body shots like we've seen and then got straight back on that jab keeping control of everything that's going on in that ring [Music] [Applause] round 8 then of this 12 rounder [Music] a surprisingly good chef talent that nobody knew about until recently he's serving up something pretty tasty here for the home crowd and i don't think it's much to oscar either as his taste he is not enjoying this at all catching all those shots it's so frustrating for reverse isn't it yeah it must be yeah nothing's getting through back comes the job again nice to watch from a heavyweight very very effective [Applause] it's very difficult to contend with it's real simple stuff you know this isn't some dazzling bit of uh virtuoso game planning from mark tibbs it's just white playing to his strengths yeah so they say we're good do that again piece that can affect it don't change it yeah why you wouldn't would you no this is working give him some more now at the moment just seems to like the imagination i'll try [Music] so any future opponent of oscar rivas the blueprints out there already yep jab [Applause] he's really starting to open reeves up here that apricot definitely caught up in the right hand over the side as well and he's sucking it up here revas he's doing all this off the back foot as well billy white is still getting weight on those shots this must be sickening for revas but here he comes again last few seconds of his eighth round no better than the previous ones yeah getting a bit ragged leading with the head there and a no-nonsense tough talking scotsman puts an end to that that was probably the worst round of the last seven to give him the first round he's had nothing since and it's just going from bad to it's been won by dillian white here totally boxing you got to remember as if it's a physical conversation between two guys without any words being used and what dylan white told rivas there was that i'm the dominant man here i'm the better fighter than you i've got you under control i can do what i want when i want yeah you've got nothing that bothers me you've got nothing that bothers me remember that kid will be coming out for more of this in the next round well the conditioning issue and a lot of people remarked on how heavy he did come in i certainly was raising an eyebrow when i saw him but it's it's not like white who is so fastidious for the last few years about his diet and his conditioning you thought is this an accident has he been a bit lazy and sloppy with his training of course he hasn't oh has turned this upside down white absolutely caught cold by that uppercut that's changed everything here in round nine it came from nowhere it seems to be fine your neck eyes look clear but reevas knows he can hurt him and he knows he's right back in this finally that right hand that he's been looking for all night long it's landed it's exploded and can white now recover deal with this now we might see white get dragged into a war matt has just seen the last round we're in his head don't get greedy he's took his foot off the gas still going away remasters really going for it this is his chance this is the golden ticket here for oscar rivas and white quite rightly just hanging on as much as he can he looks to be coherent though he's doesn't look dazed in the eyes he looks fine no zipping these punches though neck there's no zip and dillian wipes punches no no no he's he's not fine doesn't want to be training right now he doesn't want to be getting caught with another one of those uppercuts he wants to be getting back on that jab right away nice uppercut comes back from white remas soaks it up and then white misses rivas continues to plod away after him now that knockdown came very very early in this round if white can get through it he'll take that as a moral victory don't get greedy say it don't get greedy he doesn't want to be getting greedy now he wants to be getting back on that jab start controlling the tempo again he was on the floor against parker but that was very very late he goes against the left hook he's looking vulnerable now here his legs aren't working very well you know he's not he's not all there rivas might get out you know if he maintains this tempo he might gas out he's taking lots of heavy body shots but reverse has to go for it let's not forget nick he's taking a lot of heavy body shots the gas tank will not be full he might want to empty it now just try his best 30 seconds left in this round so there's really excellent nice body shot again but he gets tagged again more of a stiff jab than anything it wasn't a heavy concussive shot nick [Applause] like absorb the shots now for reverse i don't think they'll help them as much now big uppercut comes in everybody on their feet last few seconds of what has been a dramatic round it started awfully for white it's finishing strongly for him may have emptied his tank there there may be nothing left next well now he looks happier but he's gonna hear about it from mark tibbs though listen to this hold that was a gut check for dylan white to be flawed like that so early in the round and what a peach of an uppercut he can't find a right hand anywhere kenny then suddenly he's pulled out an uppercut the threat to turn this whole fire upside down yep our right uppercut as well the same very shot that anthony joshua caught him with fantastic punch from from rivas there he really did pick that shot well so early in the round though that was his moment you would have thought well at the end of the round it was wiped back the weight in the and dylan white's conditioning looked like there was anything wrong with his conditioning now absolutely no question but nevertheless that is a 10-8 round has it come too late for oscar rivas he's certainly giving himself a lifeline here i think i don't think he's got much left in the tank now you know he emptied himself out there for me as he had to he had to go for it of course he did can he find another big push here white looking to just go back to work with that jab will be watching out for that uppercut that's for sure not off the floor against parker but that was late really late well this looks better from him again the crowd right behind white who's shown his powers of recovery here but rivas will know he can hurt him with that job again it was almost as if the previous five or six rounds have been too easy for white and he was just coasting yeah well that got that got knocked out of him yeah nice right yeah right hook counter and that had reevas in a bit of trouble and white's going for it again missing badly though gonna just take a bit of time take that half step measure him nicely but rivas still not head clear and now i think he has rode that out very well the colombian [Applause] there's a lovely uppercut left hook to the body combination from white goblin great hampton weight as well all the good stuff is coming from white at the moment and tries to g himself back up here yep he's catching him on the gloves though i've not seen nothing land flush and clean yet but he's not sure what he should have nothing coming up nothing low about that offense though he's got nothing there he hasn't he wants to switch from body head now try and finish heavy upstairs [Applause] inside the final minute of this 10th round uh the arena energized nice clubbing right hand once again rivas yeah swarms all over white must work a cauldron in there for reverse no net well it's the big swingers back they come again from reeves [Applause] great work again right these combinations keeping rivas at favor oh my goodness me the colombian's got a heart on him wasn't he and the double jab look how look out but look where the hands are now for revas you were right he put so much into that previous round and he's got nothing out of this round at all i'm surprised he's not trying to back him up chop him on the ropes but some huge shots go back right hand from dylan at the bell good round from dylan well that's exactly what you want when you've just been on the floor in the previous round yeah you've settled everything back down again well he was totally in control let's not forget he was he was the ring general for every round previous nice there's a mason cam in the corner they're happy again they're happy again he's back on the rails back where he needs to be he finished the previous round strongly as well after that knocked down you do get the sense that uh for oscar rivas that one chance was gone he did nothing wrong he had to go for it he had to sell out [Music] too long even alex arthur knows enough and they're not going to be getting a points decision out of this this is this is full-on now from reverse he's got six minutes to try and force a stoppage here [Applause] can he get off this jab [Applause] totally happy with his protector there riding up a little bit right sharp little left hand inside there from reverse and then he catches a big right hand over the top he's taken a lot of good punches from white and has never wobbled [Applause] a couple of times he looked a little bit dazed reaching there right and we need to just settle back now get his shape back in top shape reverse neck he's physically very very strong huge back thick neck solid legs and he'll be taking a lot of this assuming it plays out with any without any more drama this is the best opponent he's faced and he hasn't been disgraced he'll learn from this it's the thing we're boxing today everyone talks like a defeat is the absolute end of the world it's not it doesn't need to be nobody would suggest oscar rivas is washed up if he were to lose this any more than you'd say why is washed up if he gets caught oh nice right hand and again rivas says well i can deal with it what he can't deal with is the [Applause] scorecards i think they're gonna damn him assuming it does go the distance and we'll know in just over four minutes of fight time [Applause] well you heard mark ramsey urging him only got two rounds but as you say he puts so much into that round where he had the knock down yeah but there's just not a lot left in the tank so he couldn't force the issue there after white was caught swinging badly missing rivas should have pounced on that couldn't do it instead it's white on the offensive and threatening to force rivas back here in the uh final minute of this 11th round we've still taking the sting out of dillian's long right hand he just seems to be turning his head almost the last second and taking the weight out of the shots he's a good head movement for readers his eyes almost closed the one thing you remember from this fight though is that dylan white double jab what a weapon it's been no unbelievable fantastic just couldn't quite land you could probably see that guys that is the best java heavyweight boxing well on this evidence it's certainly a contender you don't think of dylan white before this fight was one of the great jabbers in heavyweight boxing but he has been tonight didn't look too happy going back to his corner there didn't you how much more of this have i got to go yeah maybe still look strong you know just don't matter you know you look at rivas in that first round at fast start and then the knock down those rounds were good for him he hasn't won anything else just tunneling away at the last second he's just getting his jaw and his head back out the way i wonder if mark tibbs might just want to be reminding his man that oscar reeves but that was a different fight that had been flowing in his direction for most of the second half of the fight yeah this one has never come out yeah i remember watching it he was gradually he was bringing him as he went yeah but he obviously carries some power very very late they'll know that he needs that power here oscar rivas if he's to claim this interim title he has three minutes left to overturn what looks like a pretty substantial points deficit and render it meaningless with a knockout that's what he needs instead it's white that draws first blood rivas you think got to go for broke here [Applause] the first 30 seconds have gone without an attacking move from the but colombian forget how in distress white was in the last round against parker so a lot of things can happen in the 12th round over heavyweight of a heavyweight fight not happening here though and white will be very happy with that that's the first minute negotiated reeves so patient took a minute to throw him right he knows that he needs a knockout but he's got to land the knockout you've got to throw some you've got to throw some power punches even if they're going to miss that was the first power punch he threw in the fight and he took a minute to do it yeah well his one chance is the ko and he's just not throwing big punches he may be absolutely empty no he threw some big shots all the way it doesn't look like he's totally empty there's something there so he might just being cagey he's just got to be sensible that's all he has to do he has to just keep us on the end of that job like he's done so successfully for
