hey everybody welcome back to my channel i wanted to do a kind of a quick update and ask y'all guys a question the update part was i just drained my mishimoto wool catch can and this is after about 3000 miles got about 70 milliliters two and a half ounces of a material i believe the catch can't self holds uh three and a half ounces so the catch can works now however when i was checking my oil level the other day i noticed that i was about an eighth of an inch high now if you look online there's a lot of reports of these 2019 and up ford rangers having fuel mixed in the oil now i looked and there's a actually a 70 page thread 70 plus page thread as of right now on the ranger 5g forums about this issue so there's quite a few people having basically fuel dilute their oil now i can't give y'all an accurate reading right now obviously because i'm on a incline and i've been driving my truck but i even just pulled out the dipstick and it smells like fuel it's got a pretty decently strong fuel smell to it and the oil is pretty thin so tomorrow i'm going to take it to the dealership and have them look at it and at least get it documented now over here step over some of my stuff over here i have a blackstone uh oil analysis kit and i've got a little siphon pump that i just picked up at harbor freight so here in a minute i'm going to uh siphon out some oil out of the dipstick channel there and send them a sample in just to see what my what the fuel percentage would be in there i believe anything above two percent is definitely considered bad so i want to not only have the dealer check it out get it documented if this is an issue have also some documentation on my end as well now this the smaller cup um i've got about i'd say about 100 well probably about 300 miles since i dumped this i let this sit for a few days here so i can show y'all um how much just gunk it gathered and the catch can itself works great um it's definitely blow by material you know unburned fuel some carbon build up some gunk so the catch can's working um this though however is just about uh actually pulled this out this morning and it's about it may not be quite 300 miles maybe about 200 miles worth of use roughly probably about 10 milliliters worth today that i pulled out so again the catch cans working but i am getting like i said it might my fuel or rather my oil is does feel pretty diluted um so i wanted to basically make this video to ask you all a question other ford ranger owners are y'all having this issue have you all documented it have you gone to your dealership have you had your you know oil analysis sent off whether it be blackstone or whoever test yourself basically i just wanted to see if anybody else is having this issue so yeah that's the video the quick little update for you guys um you can't see i got some roto packs on my tent excuse me on my rack here i've updated it out um and the truck's pretty muddy i've been on quite a few trips in fact since i changed the oil i've had about 3000 miles on it it's just it's pretty it feels pretty thin so you know guys i'm pretty concerned about it so like i said i want to make this video to document it and maybe kind of get the ball rolling and i'll do an update video with what uh blackstone says and also with what the dealer says later on so thank you guys for watching i'll see you in the next video
