frame generation in any game with any GPU with like really minor caveats it's freaking amazing and it's all made possible by FSR 3.0 frame generation which went open source and that gave people the ability to do mods in games and just kind of put it in whatever we want to put it in this mod I'm going to be looking at today is by Luke FZ I did look at another mod previously but that one was pretty restrictive you could only use RTX gpus you couldn't even use AMD gpus with f R3 frame generation which is kind of made for we what we can actually do with this one is use AMD gpus we can use Nvidia gpus it's pretty much the catch all so let's figure it out okay let's first look at this Discord server so if you do get access to his Discord then this is what you're going to be presented with and it is really freaking confusing there is all this text this stuff here showing all a whole bunch of there's like people talking about what works and what it's a lot to take in so I did a absolute ton of testing it took me me all day so I'm I'm going to let you in on the on the little cheats in order to get this working right before a quick word from our sponsor brilliant the most fun and convenient way to learn anything in science engineering math and Technology Luke FC is the creator of this mod and just because FSR 3 is now open source that doesn't mean FSR 3 is open to everyone you need to be skilled to understand this brilliant is the perfect place to get that Foundation and learn how they have courses for computer science and programming from absolute beginner to Advanced and I especially want to point out their stuff on python it is an extremely versatile coding language that is useful Beyond just modding games something to advance your career achieve things you never thought possible with technology however if computer science just ain't your style they have thousands of other topics that will be so check out brilliant.org or/ VX at the top of the description the first 200 people to do so get 20% off their first annual plan but if you don't make that first 200 then the first 30 days are completely free for everyone Why not start learning with brilliant let's get back into it okay so first off what you want to do is go here on his Discord server and you get access to this link that'll take you to this website and on this website you actually have to sign into your patreon account usually you're just going to want to click on the latest version of it say for me we're going to do cyberpunk 2077 we want to install the game to and what you want to do is just download this file in this file I'll just download them here the most important thing you actually want to pay attention to here is the little number here it says FSR 2.2 instead of installing each game's files like individually what you can do instead is take this number and just go down to the bottom here and download generic FSR 2.0 generic FSR 2.1 and generic FSR 2.2 and this is going to going to apply to pretty much any game that you have access to down below it'll actually tell you anything else you might need to know when you're installing the mod into the game like say for example in cyberpunk if you have mods then he explains what you're going to have to do to still be able to use mods with this mod as well what I did is I just downloaded all these generic files and I put them into like a hub folder this is FSR 2.0 2.1 and 2.2 and then there's this common one which this is going to go these two files are actually going to go in every single game for Punk we need to go to Gog Library this is where mine is installed you might have it on Steam for you it might be like your steam Library folder I'm just going to click on cyberpunk 2077 what you want to look in the folder for specific files um it actually might tell you in in in these games to just like extract them next to your game executable that's not actually true um say like in cyberpunk here you actually want to go to bin x64 and then you want to extract it here which I guess is also in executable for the game but what you want to be looking for is files that go along the lines of nvn GX dlss or dlss D or dlss G are relating to nvidia's dlss technology and we're going to be replacing parts of dlss in order to get this FSR 3 mod to work take these files from the common one take this and press contrl C and then go into this folder just press crl V I know it's like hacking at its extreme we're absolute goats we're insane then you just want to take the version of FSR that the game specifically uses which for cyberpunk it is FSR 2.2 you can actually a little trick to if you want to be a mega hacker you can just hold control and then drag over a thing and it will just copy it so just hold control and copy over and then drag it in here and boom you copied it so you can see all of our files are down here now what we want to do is actually start the game now once you're actually in the the game here you just want to go go ahead and close it and what you're going to see is now there's going to be two new files there's going to be FSR 2 to FSR 3 or whatever and then there's going to be FSR 2 FSR 3 config and this is the important one okay so depending on the game that you're in you'll have some different settings you're going to do we're going to we're going to go over this on a per game basis as we check them out in this specific game it doesn't matter what branded GPU you're on this looks very confusing okay I'm going to zoom in a little bit so you guys can see this a bit better what you're going to be messing with on some games is these down here sometimes you'll need to fake What GPU brand you're on like if you're on an AMD one you'll need to fake that you're on a 4D series Nvidia graphics card to use the dlss frame generation which we're actually replacing with FSR 3 what what I found actually works best in cyberpunk according to my notes here if you take this one here and replace it with the default option here so I'm just going to contrl C and control V it up in this this little quotation box all that does is the default one is going to replace both the upscaler and the frame generator in the game so like FSR is upscaling and it would replace dlss frame generation with FSR up uh frame generation this last one here just replaces dlss frame generation actually leaves the in-game ups scalers and you can choose whichever upscale you want to use when you do this make sure you press contrl s or go in the file and actually press save or else this isn't going to matter okay so now we can hop in cyberpunk and go to settings and you can see in the top left hand corner that we're on the RX 7800 XT that is an AMD graphics card but I'm enabling a dlss super resolution on quality mode and there's dlss frame generation which I can take the box and use but this behaves a little weird it's not like you're getting dlss on an AMD graphics card you're actually using some kind of FSR implementation on it let's go and hop in game and see what kind of FPS we're getting for ultra settings at 1440p just with no rate tracing or anything like that about close to 80 FPS mid 70s at times depends kind of where we're looking but yeah let's go ahead and flick on um dlss frame generation just get a feel for it you can see we just went from like mid 70s fps to like 150 and oh my does it feels smooth and it feels responsive too it feels tight guys now what's super cool too is I'm actually capturing this through a second PC capture card thing and I'm capturing this at 120 FPS so we can slow this down and look at these these frames and stuff now you will notice a few things that do Stand Out do you see like the HUD element like that that little HUD element tracking his head there it's at a slightly lower FPS than the surroundings you you'll notice it in gameplay and it'll especially be noticing more noticeable when we turn down some settings in the game let's go and turn off frame gener generation and what's interesting about frame generation is that we could go to we're on an AMD graphics card right now let's go to R tracing medium and then let's turn off dlss so we're just at Native here at 1440p on a r tracing medium you can see that that that FPS I mean we're at the mid-70s before at Native and now we dropped down to like the freaking 30s and it is much less smooth first let's get a little bit of upscaling to see what kind of FPS we can get to so this is DLS or this is FSR quality and you can see just by enabling that we're able to get up to like the 50s it's actually it feels a lot smoother already let's go and turn on frame generation and see what this gives access to you can see now we're getting a 100 FPS rate tracing on an AMD card I know like AMD card they're just not really known for R tracing at all and this is definitely a workr to get R tracing work on an AMD card but holy crap it is working and it feels tight it feels like actually tight this feels good right now now it can have some small drawbacks okay so some things that I've noticed if you go to like a brighter area right and if you shake the HUD really quickly then you're going to see in like say like the left corner of the screen you're going to see like a little like black box thing almost going around the screen to be honest I only notice it because I'm looking for it I'm looking for problems I don't think the average person would genuinely see that little black box thing so there's some some problems with it but honestly it is really good and I'm not complaining a whole lot about now you can also see because our base frame rate it was at like 60 now or close to 60 or like mid 50s at a lower base frame rate from where the frame generation is taking place that it definitely looks a lot more choppy this is probably the thing you're going to notice the most in the game it's also not so severe that I'm complaining about it let's go check out this on an Nvidia graphics card instead of an AMD one because this mod can use either or on Nvidia so right now we're on the RTX 3080 okay and we're going to try out cyberpunk first but you need to do a couple things before you even do that first off when you go into here and you go into these common files what you need to do is click this here and say the optional nvn GX now for pretty much all games if you're replacing dss3 frame generation in the game you need need to do all of these things cuz you're faking your 30 series card or a 20 series RTX card into acting like it is a 40 series card so what you need to do is actually basically tell your computer to not care what the GPU is and that's by double clicking this and using this registry editor possibly a little bit dangerous I would recommend to back up your registry on Windows look up a video on how to do that before you do this you can reverse this there's a disable one here that it'll you it'll literally return it back to normal afterwards control and copy this over to here and we're going to need this file as well in order to make it function in cyber Punk okay okay you can see clearly see in the top left that we're on an RTX 380 not a 4080 not anything like that that actually supports dlss 3 frame generation but we can click it right here you can see here on ultra settings native 1440p we're getting about what about mid 70s FPS or so and low 70s is go ahead and enable dlss quality I think that's very reasonable most people would probably play it dlss quality at 1440p you can see we get up to like 90 FPS go ahead and hop up to DSS frame generation but it's actually FSR frame generation turn that on see now that we're getting 140 FPS it is messing up the latency that kind of sucks actually okay it's not able to track the PC latency I I completely lied on that I'm just going to take that away and act like it never happened because it doesn't work you can see we jumped up from 90 to 140 it's not as significant as what it was on the 7800 XT but it definitely still works but you can clearly see yeah it's pretty good and it has all of the image quality problems that are also on the 7800 XT but honestly I would rather play on this anyways if you have an RTX graphics card and I'm going to cut off the rest of the Nvidia testing for this video if you have an RTX graphics card you might as well just get the mod here okay this mod is completely free and this is by Nukem 9 and I already did a video about this so it's up here if you have an RTX graphics card and you're looking to replace a game that already has a dlss 3 frame generation in it but not looking to add FSR 3 where there was no frame generation before okay this is the game that kind of proves that you can put it in any game The Last of Us Part One this game never had frame generation before but now we're going to be adding it with a mod and this game is FSR 2.1 so I'm just going to copy FSR 2.1 into this folder here it is just going to be the root folder of the game and then let's go ahead and just copy over these two files and there's really nothing else you need to do okay this this one is just good to go as is so we're in The Last of Us Part One here on the 7800 XT and you can see we're at 1440p and the graphic settings are on Ultra so pretty demanding here still getting like 90 FPS what's interesting is how you have to enable it in a game that doesn't have frame generation you can't just go into the settings and be like oh let's just click on frame generation enable it's not in this game okay so what we need to do is actually just enable FSR quality now this is also going to get a little bit of upscaling so it's a little bit uh going to be a little bit higher than even normal you can see that we were at like 80 90 and we just jumped up to over 200 and and it is pretty freaking crazy and here's a side by side of it with FSR quality on both with frame generation and without frame generation the only problem though and you're probably wondering well this game never had frame generation before that has to be some issues and this is going to be the first one let's just go ahead and look at this yeah look at the the U the UI here I'm going to hide the uh my camera so you can see the bottom right yeah our frame rate is great but this is what we're working with but it definitely takes it it un immerses you where where you'd think the frame rate would be so amazing that it'd be great because the UI does this kind of weirdness it it does take you out of the game and does does take you out of your experience that's one unfortunate part about this and there really isn't any way to get around this because it's not like there's actual modding support in all games so what this is doing instead of like actually going into the game files and putting a frame generation at the level it needs to be it it can't do that because frame generation should happen before the actual UI of the game is rendered but it can't reach that that level just by replacing FSR 2 with FSR 3 it really depends on the game last of us part one isn't actually a bad idea with frame generation because there isn't that much UI in the game and if this this bugginess in the corner doesn't bother you then you might be able to get completely past it and this is still a good solution for you the less UI in the game the better okay the next game we're going to be checking out is Marvel Spider-Man Miles Morales like remastered or whatever it is on PC this game is a little bit different because if you go over to Spider-Man Miles Morales right here you will see that you need to run a little launch command okay so I'll show you how to run this on Steam I I don't know if you can run this on other launchers I'm not actually sure on Steam what you need to do is go to the actual game here and then you're just going to right click it and press properties and then you're going to copy and paste that Force reflex markers thing and this is so that Nvidia reflex doesn't actually check that it's working or not okay so this game is actually using FSR 2.1 so you're going to go to FSR 210 here and copy this into here and then you're going to go ahead and go back and go to your common and you know copy paste these two files in here as well other than that that that's all you actually need to do now in my notes uh for Spider-Man what I found to actually work the best the game will actually launch and it will we can just quit it out it will generate the uh files just by doing that little pre-launch her thing so we can get the the thing here is to use the replace dlss frame generation but use this one or else you the frame generation just won't work I'm pretty sure and let's go ahead and hop into Spider-Man Miles Morales and let's go and decide what kind of setup settings we're going to use you can see that the game that it's working because and also if you got this mod from anyone else you got scammed okay you can see we're on the 700 XT here and in terms of Graphics we're literally on Max in this game so very high and we have rate tracing all the way up except for the object range all the way up so that turned down a little bit you can see our FPS is still at like 100 on the 7800 XT we're actually still CPU limited here what we can do with with CPU limits is actually use frame generation to kind of bypass it Rin FPS is also so high is because we're using a little bit of upscaling here on FSR 2.1 on quality let's go ahead and turn on frame generation see what the heck is happening it's going this blows this one blows me away man 180 FPS it feels still really tight and stuff like oh my God it's crazy but obviously we're using raate tracing in this we don't have to use raate tracing so let's go ah and turn off frame generation and let's go ahead and turn off the ray tracing on every everything so R race Shadows off rate race Reflections off you can see with FSR quality and everything we're need like 142 FPS or so and we're CPU limited and I'm actually on one of the fastest gaming CPUs in the world I think actually the fastest one especially for this game the 7800x 3D it's already really smooth but what if you want more like why not dlss frame generation we're actually using FSR frame generation and you can see we just jump up to 20 180 FPS holy crap man that that is insane to me the fact that we can just do this is freaking wild okay and the FPS the base frame rate is already high enough that these HUD elements and stuff the UI it doesn't look bad in motion or anything like that I can see some artifacts here I'm panning around Spider-Man's head there's definitely some issues but the compromises are pretty small to get the crazy amount of FPS you can get in this game okay the next game we're going to do is Remnant 2 this game is pretty interesting because this is an Unreal Engine 5 game if we go ahead and go to and what he says is FSR 2.2 you just need to extract them both next to the executable which actually doesn't work we'll go into that and depending on your GPU vendor this is where we actually have to get a little we got get a little hacky here okay we're going to fake what our GPU is and call it an Nvidia GPU then we're also going to have to bypass the Unreal Engine five workaround type thing actually the directory path is a little bit different so I'm at the root folder of Remnant what we actually do is we get a Remnant 2 binaries windows 64 and it's going to be in here this is where we put the the files going and take our common ones okay so the the wind m whatever files these are put drag and drop them in there and let's go ahead and go here take FSR 2.2 and then put that in there as well and we're freaking chilling okay let's go ahead and start the game and we're getting the little command line thing which means that we put the files in the right place and then just go ah and exit exit out of the game okay and you'll be able to see here that the config file is now at the bottom let's go and click on that you're going see that it says fake Nvidia GPU you just want to take this and type in true no just highlight the exact word and then type it in no spaces or anything just keep it exactly as it is it also says AMD UNR engine dlss workaround you also want to take this and call it true okay go and save it make sure you save it now Remnant 2 in general does actually behave a little bit weird with frame generation even if you have a 40 series graphics card for my experience you have to restart the game in order to get it to work and it also likes to lock your vsync down and it it's it is a little odd you see we're getting about mid 60s FPS okay right now we're on ultra settings at 1440p and what you can do is enable dlss frame generation so we're at the mid-60s on frame rate you can see here that nothing changes cuz you have to restart the game you can see uh that's just how that's just how it works the restart required okay we just restarted the game and what you're going to see is like uh yeah we're still at the 60s on FPS okay so it still didn't work in this game what you have to do is actually enable dlss because you're faking that you're on dlss even though you're not on it and that will actually get frame generation kicking in you can see we're at like 170 FPS now that is it's so freaking good and it still feels freaking great because we're starting at a base frame rate of around the 60s and' 60s it's good it's good it's pretty Bas basically what you need for some good responsiveness in your game once you go frame generating and we're getting like 180 FPS in this game which is super super demanding on an AMD card that doesn't support dlss 3 frame generation so we just modded in osar 3 if you're using frame generation in this game make sure you have the dlss 3 tick boox enable abled or else you're going to get this weird HUD ghosting thing it's going to be really distracting so make sure you do that so if you do want to turn it off while you're playing the game you do have to turn off upscaling um in it because and upscaling whenever you turn it on is going to enable dlss frame generation because they're kind of linked together they're like in the mod and you can go into the the mod settings and actually allow you to just use upscaling and not use the the frame generation but you have to specifically seek out and do that all right next game is plague tail requium okay let's go ahead and go to Luke's website here and see see what it says but if you're on an AMD GPU which we are here on the 7800 XT then we're going to have to say fake Nvidia GPU and if we're on an Intel GPU which I didn't test this with but you also say fake Nvidia GPU true so this game uses FSR 2.2 I mean and then just going and copy this in here and then let's go here and I'll just say common and copy these in here now something I did find that was helpful at times is to actually also copy this optional nvng GX file you don't always need it but you might you might want to do it if it isn't working if it doesn't want to launch okay let's go and go into the settings here and you can see that we're not getting frame generation usually it would be right here okay um if you're on a 40 series graphics card but we're not getting that so what do we do about that well go ahead and just exit exit out of the game and now we're going to see that the config file has generated so good and just double click on that and I'm going zoom in this but really all we want to do here is go to the fake Nvidia GPU and we just want to replace this with true let's go ahead and start up the game okay now we hop in here and it's like Nvidia reflex slow latency uh we're on an AMD card H that didn't that doesn't seem right but that's actually all that's showing now I'm going to have to mess with this a little bit cuz is um just replace the nvn GX file in here and there's all already one in here so I'm just going to say replace it and we're still not seeing it h it's funny cuz I did the this exact same thing last night like the exact same process and it worked perfectly fine if I delete the the nvng GX file okay well in this case I deleted the nvng GX file and it worked okay so sometimes you'll just run into some troubleshooting like that try messing with the nvn GX file especially if you're faking you're an Nvidia GPU because usually if you're in Nvidia GPU you either need or don't need that file in certain cases so you reference so we're at about 70 FPS or so we're actually on completely ultra settings okay pretty smooth for this game but we can make this a little bit better so how you enable it in this game because we're replacing frame generation you might think oh you can just turn on frame generation here and it'll work it doesn't work actually I don't exactly know why but you do have to turn on dlss uh upscaling so we we'll just set it to ultra quality and you can now see we're getting 148 FPS and man it does feel like butter so this is something I would gladly play with now in my notes I did say that I saw some issues with it but I'm not seeing them at all right now what I was seeing was basically the same thing that cyber Punk had where on the the left side of the screen would be like this kind of like black rectangle or darkened rectangle that would follow you around if the HUD comes up do you see that thing in the bottom left and then what happens we turn off frame generation in the settings here it's still on this is so weird this is so weird once you've turned on frame generation this game it is on turn on dlss again you can see it messes up your HUD you don't want to mess up your HUD okay that's what's what it seems like it's doing is the upscaler we're putting FSR 3 upscaling into the game it looks like that's replacing the original upscaler and not dlss when we get a dlss it's like doing a fallback thing and then putting it the frame generation on top of the entire game instead of putting it below where the HUD is rendered cuz we want the HUD to be rendered so it doesn't freaking flicker everywhere next up let's actually check out Allen wake 2 and you guys might be able to figure out this better than me I wasn't able to get alen wake 2 to work and I'll goad and go over what I tried it looks like all the files that you need in order to get this going is right here okay so FSR 2.2 into Allen wake 2 going and get the common files and also copy these into here and if we also look at the website and go here we go to allenwick 2 um all they say they don't say there's anything crazy you got to do for this game actually the epic games overlay can interfere with this mod and make it crash so what you actually want to do is to go to your your usually your local drive and you want to go x86 here and there's going to be epic games okay you're going to go to the launcher the portal then you go to extras and overlay and then you actually want to go here there's going to be two files here that are called like something to do with the overlay and one's going to be the 64-bit one one's going to be the 32-bit one and just rename them to something else cuz then the the G the actual launcher won't be able to read what they are and then it just won't use the overlay so it's pretty simple pretty Jank solution but kind of nice okay let's go ahead and start up Allen wake 2 you're not going to actually see frame generation come up it's still going to be gray out but in order for me to get it to show up I actually enable vsync and I can disable after it and it'll show dlss and allow me to click on it but I won't get dlss upscaling at that point so even though it is technically going to be FSR upscaling cuz we replaced it with FSR it still won't allow us to do that you see we're in game here we're clearly using the FSR pathway cuz if you just look up at the foliage at the top of the screen it looks really like shimmery and that's just like a clear sign that you're on the FSR pathway in this game not the D LSS one and you can see that things are just they're just broken dude I don't even the frame generation on right now you can see we're in the 60s we're just on high settings without R tracing right now now let's go ahead and enable frame generation see what happens you can see didn't change our FPS at all I don't think we're going to have as much luck actually oh yep you okay start you got a little you got a little taste there every now and yep every now and then it just goes black it like depends on where you have the camera it kind of looks cool honestly but I don't know what the heck is happening like we're in we're in limbo let's also check this out in balers Gate 3 pretty interesting game I actually just got it and it's pretty damn fun look awful I'm nervous to see what you look like bro why are you a Smurf on purple bro I'm not dude I'm the color of lean I just wanted to show a situation that you could run into okay so I'm in the balers Gate 3 directory go to bin and this is where all the stuff is here's the balers gate directx11 all that kind of stuff and that direct X1 is really important let's see even though this game has FSR 2.2 in it but it is not actually officially supported on Luke FC's page let's go and go to balers Gate 3 and launch the game launching in direct X11 so you can see here that we're getting like 100 about almost 150 FPS just walking around this little Goblin area area or whatever you know this a game where latency isn't that big of a deal so just enabling frame generation would be pretty cool right let's go ahead and go a video and usually how you have to enable it in games that don't have frame generation originally like this game is you turn on FSR 2.2 or whatever which does give us a little bit more FPS cuz now we're using upscaling but you can clearly see that we're not like doubling our FPS or anything like that frame generation is not working this can this can be something you run into and I think this is probably because of the little thing in the top left called direct X1 I think you might need direct X12 to be in the game in order to use frame generation I'm not 100% sure of that though most games nowadays that are coming out are direct X12 but some of them aren't so you might want to at least look up what API your game uses it's either going to be DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 most of the time because this game actually does have another API that you can launch it in and that is Vulcan so let's goe and launch the game and see if this will actually work all right let's go you see on Vulcan here that actually our frame times look a little bit smoother which is I guess just a little Advantage usually AMD cards do tend to run pretty well in Vulcan let's go ahe and see what happens if we enable just go on Ultra quality so our FPS doesn't change that much just from the upscaling and you can see that we are not getting um frame generation working even with Vulcan okay so this is just a game where the mod doesn't seem to work in and I'm not exactly sure why Luke FZ probably knows why but I'm not an absolute genius but you might run into this just where you can't get it to work into a game that kind of sucks but also balers Gate 3 a lot of games that are on DirectX 11 if that is why this is happening a lot of games that are in directex 11 aren't that demanding it usually won't be a problem there are a few that are very demanding but like balers Gate 3 here a lot of gpus can run this perfectly fine it'd be nice to have frame generation but it's not going to be a deal breaker also just look at look at my dude this is tabus the great I how to jump I couldn't see your face before the last game we're going to show this off in is power world and this is an Unreal Engine 5 game as well so we can run into some issues that sometimes these games can have now what you want to do on under Engine 5 Games I actually didn't mention it with Remnant 2 is you actually want to look in here and find the power world shipping or whatever game application thing that actually says shipping on on it that's where you want to put your files going to use FSR 2.2 why not common files and go and copy them into this folder as well we're going to start the game we're going to have to do a few things in order to get it work on here we're going to have to do the unroll engine we're going to have to fake it to be an AMD uh an Nvidia graphics card and now we have the config file which is very important now here we just want to fake the Nvidia GPU and then you also want to do the Unreal Engine workaround and then go and save this I was going to go ahead and show this but I'm not I know you can get this working in power world but I'm not able to get it working at least on this card in post here I wasn't able to get it to work but I've seen that ancient game plays was getting it working in power world you know it does that classic thing where if if there isn't frame generation in the game then it's going to have to put it over on top of the HUD and that means you get really crazy stupid looking HUD elements on your screen when you use frame generation but what I wanted to display with this is power world is a game that only has DL DSS in it and if it only has dlss we can actually replace the upscaler with FSR and allow upscaling on non- envidia gpus in certain games that's where this mod can also be useful I tried just using the upscaling part of it it didn't work I replaced the nvng GX file didn't work either I just could not get it working in power world if you can get it working let me know and you can post in the comments below but sadly couldn't get it and so we went over a bunch of games and we can see that the 78 XT even though it's AMD we can take advantage of frame generation in a lot of these games and it's not a 40 40 series graphics card this can like you can put it in almost any game you want but should you put it in that game that's the problem because in a game that doesn't actually have dlss frame generation already in it even if you're on an AMD card here you're going to get all this HUD ghosting and stuff like we saw in Last of Us Part One it just doesn't look that good so it's up to you if you can get over that then it's perfectly fine I did want to go over some some troubleshooting steps that you might want to do if you're having issues implementing this in your games real quick so some things that I ran into personally was first of all the nvn GX thing this should be one of the first files that you actually look to taking in or out of the the folder depending on it so try it with and try it without it I'm not exactly sure what this file does if you do know what it does let me know in the comments I'm not sure sometimes it works with it sometimes it works without it cuz I know in plugtail requium I tried it with it before it worked and then I had to troubleshoot it and I actually took that file out and it worked I have no clue exactly what's going on there but sometimes has different things the second thing you might be having issues with is something a little nuanced let's go down here I actually have Windows Defender be a little deceiving sometimes you launch the game and what it'll do is it'll keep deleting that FSR file okay because it thinks it's a virus and it's because these FSR files are these um like ASI files apparently they're dangerous or they could be dangerous for your computer but I haven't had any issues as of yet so what you can do is actually go here and go to virus threat protection settings go to manage settings go all the way down here to the bottom and it says exclusions and you can add or remove exclusions I just said file type and I just toed in typed in topped inasi and bada bing bada boom that should allow it through Windows Firewall if you are getting this issue what you're going to see is your your FSR file keeps getting deleted over and over again whenever you try to start and you're going to get a little notification in the corner from Windows Defender okay so that would be the the symptoms of the issue and this will solve it but it does put your computer at a little bit of risk we went over the epic games overlay thing a little bit earlier for Allen wake 2 even though I couldn't get it working in Allen wake 2 you do want to if you're using epic games is disable the Epic overlay because it will clash with this mod and make it crash every single time time if you're wanting to mod a game from Nexxus so the this is a company that does a lot of the PlayStation ports to PC they've done Ratchet and Clank they've done the Spider-Man games and I'm pretty sure Nexxus is doing the Horizon forbidden West Port I might be wrong on that let me know if I'm wrong in order to use it in their games what you have to do is go to properties and then always do this Force reflex markers this may or may not apply to other games in the future but as of yet this is only applying to these um nixus games the last thing if you're having any type of issues like your game wants to keep crashing when you do the mod or something like that I would I would highly encourage you as one of your first steps you have these files here you should delete the files that are in it and just go into steam and on Steam you you press a game plug to recom go to properties and then go to installed files and then verify Integrity of game files this is always a good troubleshooting step especially if you're messing with the files of your game just to make sure nothing is clashing together and making things crash or whatever is going on I want to show you real quick how you would uninstall the mod because sometimes that could be an issue because what if you don't want to use frame generation in the game I want to make sure that if you do try this that you can reset your system back to how it was you got the game files wherever you went and installed it you're going have to find that unfortunately usually it will be this root folder here or you want to delete this file which is the FSR 2 FSR 3 FSR 2 FSR 3 config file and this one is a log file so if we do look at this it just shows the console that you'd see when starting the game delete these three and you're going to go down here you're going to delete the win mm and win mm dll just press delete and then it's completely out of the game now in the terms of like a a Nexxus game or something like that you might want to go to here and change your your launch options back to normal so I'm going to set it like that take out the reflex one that is how you un uninstall it now if you want to complete your reset your system too you're going to want to go in here go back to the common if you're on an Nvidia graphics card um you're going to want to disable signature of rde so we pressed enable on it before we want to press disable now so we can reset our Windows registry back to how it was and just like that if you don't want to use the mods anymore then they should be all good but obviously this has been super cool Mod episode 3 gets me super excited um it's it's it's just insanely smooth and you can get High refresh rate experiences on games that you typically wouldn't be able to get it in I mean there are some caveats as with frame generation with anything if you have anything under like 60 FPS typically doesn't feel responsive enough I wish I had enough time to actually like test it on some lower-end cards and stuff but I didn't quite have enough time to do that but maybe maybe we can look at that in the future like testing FSR 3 on a lower end card versus a higher end card like the 7800 XT that in certain games like I would clearly just use it in it like cyberpunk was really nice with it especially single player games I wouldn't be using this in competitive games I'd also fear with competitive games that you might because you're messing with the game files that you actually might get banned I'm not sure I wouldn't risk it on competitive games but in certain games like cyberp Punk or plail requium or Spider-Man I mean it it was just all positive in those games like the visual differences were pretty minor I wasn't complaining about it hopefully you you get to try this and get to enjoy it for yourself just like I've been able to even though it is a lot of tinkering hopefully this video also helped you and any troubleshooting that you might have to go through it can be pretty complicated so let me know what your experience has been with the FSR 3 mods and would you recommend it you guys have a good one I'm going to see you in the next video also check out brilliant at the top of the description if you're interested in learning a little bit with them like we learned here today all right I'll see you guys in the next video [Music] peace [Music]
