Frost Claw MANA SUSTAIN SOLVED - No +Levels needed! | Last Epoch 1.0

hey folks after hundreds of hours of playing frostclaw I believe I have solved the Mana issue once and for all in this video I'm going to be giving you a bit of a guide on how to sustain Mana I'm going to explain how the Mana sustain mechanics work and I'm going to be providing you two separate setups for frostclaw that will work if you have at least 23 points in frostclaw and another setup for either leveling or if you don't have 23 points so whatever Frost claw setup you decide to use this video will be helpful for you hope if you found it useful definitely leave a like I appreciate it a lot it helps immensely and if not let me know why in the comments so jumping right into the skill the most important thing you need to know about frostclaw is that the gift of Winter the chance to gain 12 mana on cast also works on the indirect cast given by the nodes here in the bottom left so if I cast here you can see frostclaw bounces so each bounce can actually have a chance of giving you back 12 mana and this is extremely key for your Mana management for the skill no amount of Mana regen will save you if you're not regaining enough Mana through this gift of winter so three of three here is always mandatory if you don't have this you will not sustain Mana another thing that's very important is the minus 3 here so the base Mana cost is what is used before any of the multipliers are calculated so for like a volley of glass here the base Mana determines what you're multiplying from so I'll jump into my spreadsheet here in a minute but for now that's kind of the main thing you need to know this is extremely important another thing that gives minus Mana here is the wands you can also get this as a AIX on I believe scepter and there's a few other uh sources of minus Mana I think some staffs have them as well so also keep that in mind uh jumping back to the tree the gift of winter so as I said it's per indirect cast and and these nodes here in the bottom left this one here gives you one additional cast this one also gives you one additional cast and this one actually gives you two additional casts so if you have all three of these per direct cast to frostclaw you will cast the skill indirectly five times the way the math works on that I'll save you all the details but basically if you have three of three of gift of winter and these three bottom noades here then on average frost clot will regain 20 1.6 Mana per direct cast so as long as your Mana is around 21 22 23 and you have the three uh 303 here and these notes here you should sustain frostclaw just by spamming it so that's very important and in order to get this number down to 22 is you probably need a couple Sparks of Solarity here and also you probably want the idols here so there's a few different ways you can make this work but but this is probably the easiest way so now I'll jump into the spreadsheet that I will be providing you guys in the description if you want to actually use the config values here and make changes you'll need to go to file make a copy so this is a copy that I've made and uh here's the original here I have two different configurations I'm going to show you today so you can see at the bottom here this is the number you actually care about so as I'm spamming Frost clot the net man out Lo or gained per second just from the frost cloth spam so this does not include Mana regen you'll have to calculate whatever your actual Mana regen is separately it's in the character sheet but you can see if you'll be sustaining so here you can see with this configuration of frostclaw I'm actually gaining on average 2 Mana per second so if you change the skills here in this uh configuration so say I don't have three of three gift of winter say I only have two points now I'm at minus 50 so completely unsustainable a lot of people are struggling with that they don't really understand why they instantly go out of Mana that is why and another thing that's extremely important is the crack in the ice here the one I said gives you two additional casts if you don't have this you can see there's only three total casts of frostclaw we're at minus 23 per second so even if you have a lot of manaen that's also not sustainable so it's very important that you have the additional cast nodes of frostclaw and gift of winter everything else you could probably work around but those are very important I've also included here the cast speed this is from your character sheet so this determines how many actual cast per second you have higher cast speed means that if you are at a Mana deficit it will be more difficult to manage So in theory if your cast speed is very low and you have a lot of Manor regen then you can probably sustain a deficit on your Frost claw uh but for now we'll not worry about that and what I found was actually pretty interesting so with my current setup here this requires 24 points in frostclaw you can actually do it with 23 so if I do here uh one point of Solarity so this node right here if I take this out this would be 23 frostclaw so if you only have 23 um so say for example you have a twisted heart with no um LP slam on it and you have a Enigma and you have an unstable core you would be at level 23 this is what you would use for your setup and you can see with this setup you'll be at about minus 7 per second depending on your cast speed and you can make up for that with manner regen so the base should be around 10 or 11 and this is okay so you can use this setup if you have have 23 points if you have less than 23 you can consider some of these Alternatives so like the vria set helmet that can take you up to 23 if you're only at 22 or something you can also run the omnus amulet that will give you another Point um but yeah other than that if you can't get to 23 points then I have an alternate setup for you that you can use that involves dropping volley of glass so this is what that alternate setup would look like like so you notice here I've taken out Vol of glass and that means that this is currently a level 20 Frost cloth you see I have four unspent points here and this setup will actually work completely fine with the Nova Frost CLA build so for the builds that depend on the shotgunning mechanic uh so you need to actually hit with frostclaw this is not a viable option cuz you lose like 80% of your damage but with the Nova frostclaw the volum of glass does not actually give us extra novas so you can see here in this note here Elemental Nova chance per cast the additional projectiles does not give you extra novas so by taking these two nodes out we only lose roughly 30 is% of our single Target damage and that's on stationary targets where you're hitting every hit so worst case scenario you lose about 30% single Target for Nova frostclaw but the amount of Mana that you gain allows you a lot of flexibility so here is the actual setup for that I will provide this alternate setup as well so you can see here I have um my cost is 19.69 with a level 20 Frost clock all I have is the two Idols I have zero points in Solarity I actually unspe frozen rain so you can see here I don't even have the two points here so that saves me another two points I need nothing in Solarity so that's really good this is also good for fire Frost claw cuz you lose one point here from the Enigma catalyst so this is a pretty good option for you and also if you're leveling your Frost claw and you aren't high enough level to use some of the uniques that you need you can also do this this is completely fine so just take these two nodes out and then you can reallocate them if you do also have extra points I would suggest putting them in here for the cast speed so cast speed is really good and then shiver shell here is also good and if you're not running these two nodes here you can even pick up Frozen malice and your manacost will still be fine so as you can see here I do have Frozen malice activated all I'm missing is handed meritis and Vol of glass so everything here is totally fine you don't need frozen rain and you can even take away your idols and as long as you have frozen rain you can actually run without any idols and the setup is totally fine so this is something that I've been testing in high corruption as an alternative and I found that it was it was actually completely fine there was no issues uh so I will jump into some of that gameplay now just to show you guys what this alternative looks like okay so here we are in an echo I've resp to a level 20 frostclaw without volley of glass and hand of mortis I'm currently running 3500 corruption and I do not have any of my Idols equipped just for demonstration purposes this is the alternate setup so even with my gear I have pretty high cast speed chances are you won't have this much cast speed unless your gear is completely minmaxed so your Mana sustain would probably be even better than mine and you probably would also have the idols too I only took them out for the sake of demonstration but as you can see the Mana situation is completely fine even as I spam so there you go if you're leveling your frostclaw or if you don't have enough extra points this is a setup that you can use another thing that I want to very quickly touch on is since the frostclaw Mana recovery does have an RNG component so it's only 21.6 Mana recovered on average per cast you can sometimes get unlucky and you'll see your Mana level go down or even uh completely deplete and in those cases something you can do to offset the bad RNG is the ladle gives you one Mana gained on potion use per for intelligence so if you have uh we'll say 160 intelligence that would give you 40 Mana per potion so that will help a lot to kind of smooth out some of the bad RNG so just as a demonstration here you can see my Mana let's uh let's actually take this out here so here you can see my Mana going pretty low I'll pop some potions and I pretty much immediately go back to full and that's even with a 26 Mana cost frostclaw also while you're fighting bosses if you aren't full potions you'll find pretty often a potion will drop so as long as you're like fighting shade or a timeline boss or something like that you should have potions that you can just pick up and tap every now and then anyway that's pretty much all
