Freedom from Jealousy Bitterness & Envy

[Music] hi everybody and welcome to my youtube channel I'm back in my prayer room for another video so today I want to talk about it area that has been heavy on my heart and it's so important that we talked about in the body of Christ it's this big ugly word it's called jealousy I hate this word let's first look at the definition of it Josie is defined as being jealous of something that we do not have and I think in the world of social media it's so easy to be jealous of other people's lives everybody's posting how great their life is they're posting all the highlight reels they're posting all the happy moments and for some of us it's causing us to stumble and it's causing you to stumble because you look at their life but you don't know their whole story you just know bits and pieces of the part that they should show you in a part that they decide to share with you and you get jealous of their life and you might say well you know I don't have what they have or you know how can make it to travel so much oh look who just got engaged how she get engaged when I've been settled a bit longer than she been celibate and how she get a man already how she gave him that relationship and go laughs good luck with that and oh girl how you get that man you aren't even that cute you see that spirit of jealousy that just sits in your heart and that's the thing when something good happens to somebody I want to ask you what's going on in your heart cuz that will tell you if you're jealous or not and I challenge you to examine your own life and ask yourself am i jealous of other people because the reality is this type of jealousy is sin and it's not a characteristic of a real Christian true authentic Christianity it are there your your rejoicing with other people when they rejoice you're excited for you you build up you don't tear down you're not jealous envious boastful proud you see those are fruits of the flesh so if you are still led by your carnal nature then that's a good sign that you know if I'm dealing with jealousy that means I'm probably still led by selfishness by pride by ego by all those other things and as believers that's not what we were led by now I want to look at a scripture of 1st Corinthians 3 and 3 first Corinthians 13 3 actually first Corinthians three and two I had to feed you with milk and that South food because you weren't ready for anything stronger and you still aren't ready for you are still controlled by your sinful nature you are jealous of one another and you quarrel with one another don't you prove that you are controlled by your sinful nature are you living like people of the world and that's the thing I asked you today are you living like people of the world are you living for God because if you're walking around jealous and bitter about what everybody else has going on in their life then that means that you have some jealousy in your heart and that's the beautiful thing if you're feeling convicted by this message praise God take it to the Lord later this feat and I want to stand up here like oh my gosh I'm so perfect I've never dealt with jealousy I dealt with it really hardcore in the beginning of my walk with the Lord and I remember there's this one girl at church I was jealous of and I'll be like look at what she has on today she thinks she cute you ain't even that cute and that's the thing when you're jealous of a person everything they say or do it does not matter because you will try to find something you don't like about it because you're jealous and you don't feel good about yourself everything they say or they do you will look at it and you will twist it and you will twist into being something else in your head because of your own insecurities because you don't feel good about yourself and that's what I used to do I would look at her be like look at what you wear today you ain't even that cute mmm and I was so jealous of her and I remember one day the Holy Spirit just just arrested my heart and he said Heather and he's like I can't flow through that I can't flow through jealousy bitterness and fruits of that of the flesh and so I was like alright God what do I do and he's begin to show me to pray for her pray for her I won't and good happen to her I'm about to be praying for her Jesus and that's the thing that's what set me free from being jealous of the girl and what I did was I begin to pray god I pray she walks in your ways I pray she hears your voice in the voice of a stranger she doesn't follow I pray God you leading you guide her paths I pray she hears your voice God and she walks in your ways I pray God that she's the head and not the tail above only I'm not beneath I pray God it's a plant that you have her so good place to prosper her to give her and expect it and you see I took the Word of God and I began to apply it towards that girl and the thing is the enemy can't attack you with jealousy anymore if you turn it into praying for the girl so I prayed for her and I would cover her I mean I'll be on my face and she to this day she does not even know that I used to be on my face praying for her and covering her in prayer because of the issue that I dealt with in my own heart from that point forward I decided that I told the Lord I will not walk around in jealousy I bind that spirit in the name of Jesus it will not live in my home I will not give an open door to it I give no I give the enemy no open door in my heart to jealousy I don't have time for it and when you're walking in your doing what God is calling you to do you ain't come you ain't got time to be jealous of nobody are you serious you it when you're ahead hits that pillow every night you so tired I'm doing what God told you to do you ain't got time to be jealous nobody I want to go to another scripture let's look lip over the Galatians and it's important you take these scriptures and you write them down and every time jealousy just inches back in your heart you pull out these scriptures good like nope I don't think like that I don't think like that I don't do that I don't walk in that way I walk by faith I don't walk by sight I will not be jealous I will not be envious I will not be proud because love is patient love is kind I walk based on first Corinthians 13:4 I love is patient is kind it's not boastful or proud or rude it does not record any wrongdoings you see you got to stir yourself up in the Lord now in Galatians 5 and 26 it says again write these down put my notecards look at them meditate on them until it becomes real in your heart let us not become conceited or provoke one another or giass of one another so even on your own social media post or whatever you're telling friends or family do you try to provoke people like look at my life let me look at this and that's the thing ask you check your own motives of your heart you don't want to call somebody else Istanbul but the thing is if some people choose to look at your page and your motive is heart and your motive is pure and you like really love people and it's not even that deep but they twist it and they turn it that's the issue dealing with the inside of you inside of them but I asked you are you trying to provoke people don't try to provoke any but don't become conceited don't become jealous of one another it's so not worth it and the thing is the more we focus on ourselves and our own desires the less we focus on God when you're focused on me I'll use me as an example because I can't get mad at myself tomorrow because I still love me but if you're folk even if you just even my life if you look at like oh it's so perfect you ain't never been to nothing you don't understand even when I share my pitfalls even when I share my life is not perfect it's far from it I I get tested probably 90% of my life because I'm a leader in the body of Christ and I'm aware of it and I know God uses me and guess what who's the enemy go hit he's gonna hit me and he's gonna attack me but the thing is I get stretched so much but I decide to preside - I choose joy I choose rejoicing the mess of trap test I choose trusting God well understand I choose to walk in his ways that's the think so many people are looking at your life or you might be even looking at somebody else's life and they don't understand the story behind it you don't know how much I've gone through to get to where I am today I have been walking with the Lord for about 13 years and granted it might not be a long time to some people but I have gone through tests and trials are being pruned and just just over and over again I'm walking by faith and trusting in the Lord and fasting and sowing and loving my enemies and overcoming evil with good and saying you know for example I have a TV show now on the network on the word network and you know I start recording next month but I've turned down 10 shows before I got to this point because I couldn't find you know the shows that we're reaching out to me I just felt like they weren't in line with my biblical values and it's like people look at like oh how you get a show how you how you get a show they also didn't see me turn down other shows that did not glorify God when I was single and when God told me to put down television hosting and to pursue him with all of my heart and that's it they even like my marriage and they're like oh your marriage is so perfect goals I'd love you what you ready get tested because my husband died we we recorded we probably fought most of the courtship not for real but it was like ah we were both strong-willed and then when we got engaged it was like ah but we both still knew it was God and then we got we got married it was like ah I'm glad we went through some of that fussing and fighting but even then it was still a process a process so many people will look at your life and be like it's so perfect but they don't understand what it took to get to the place where you're at that's why you can't focus on somebody's chapter 40 if you start in on your chapter 1 in that area you don't know that and there's a cost that comes with saying yes to Jesus here's a cost that comes with dying to your flesh daily there's a cost that comes to be a leader in the body of Christ or whatever area that you're in you might be you know you might be a partner at your job or you might be you know in law school and your third here and maybe you have people looking at you and being like look at you in law school you think you better than everybody else it's like do you know many hours of study to get to where I am I'm sure you busted your tail for that and you deserve it and that's the thing like so many times we focus on everybody's life but we don't understand the behind-the-scenes story we don't like the fruit and that's the thing you expecting God to bless you why you jealous that everybody else is like why would that's the thing how how do you expect God to bless that means all yours and that's why we have to get the bitterness in the wrath in the fear and all those things - Lord now when we harden our hearts to the truth we cannot turn to Jesus and let him heal us I believe that God wants to heal you from being jealous of bitter of other people's life granted you might have had a hard life maybe went through some really tough things and my heart breaks for you if if you have but I want you to know that God can use those things and he can turn around and it can bring glory to him now when the Holy it when the Holy Spirit controls us and you can just write this down Galatians 5:22 through 23 I can just read it real quick on here Galatians 5:22 but when the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control there's no log and so sings that's the thing if you go up to the bug it says when in verse 19 when you follow the desires of your sinful nature the results are very clear sexual immorality impurity lust evil desires idolatry and it goes on and on n venous drunkenness wild parties and other sins that's the things outbursts of anger that's the thing like jealousy you have to ask yourself where did this come from where did that scene get playing in my heart along the way I need to go ahead I need to be free from that soften your heart so the Holy Spirit can come in and he can he can free you from that bondage of jealousy you combat jealousy by recognizing that we need to become more like Jesus and less our selves in Hebrews 13 and five it says be content with what you have for God says I will never fail you and I will never forsake you be content with what you have God will never fail you when your content and you know that God has your back and he's for you and he's not against you you know God loves you and he has your back then you have no reason to be jealous of what anybody else is doing because you know that God has not forgotten about you you know that his timing is perfect and you know that he will never fail you he will never forsake you and when you know that in your head then you won't be jealous of other people and what they're doing because you know that's not your portion God will bless you with your portion based on his timing and the will for your life being jealous indicates that we are not satisfied with what God has for us when you're jealous of other people you're showing God that you I'm not happy with portion you gave me God know I need you to do a little bit better I need you to do a little better are you serious he sent His only Son to die for your sins this earth is but a vapor life on this earth is but a vapor and you're all wrapped up in focus on how you feel and how you're upset and that's the thing God is like this life is but a vapor are you gonna waste your whole entire life being jealous of everybody else's life or are you gonna get up and do what I'm telling you to do that's why I wrote my book the purpose room get up what you doing you're sitting around comparing your purpose to everybody got no more purpose everybody else got their purpose how'd it get up get on your face spend time with the Holy Spirit get to know him we're coming to this world I was like you know uh your head I feel like sometimes you saying I gotta earn God no you don't have to I'm not telling you have to earn God but what I'm saying is his presence demands a boundary it demands respect sees then he's he's got himself so I ask you are you saying it don't take all that I ain't gotta spend time with Jesus how are you supposed to get to know him how you supposed to hear his voice if you are if you're filling up your mind with garbage television garbage music garbage relationships and you refuse to sit down for one hour a day and spend time with the Holy Spirit but God you don't leave me I don't hear his voice but what voices are you listening to because you listen to somebody's voice God is he wants to have an intimate relationship with you we combat jealousy by getting to know God through Bible study through / err if you fellowship with other believers through attending a godly church coming to a conference go ahead and come on to the pinky promise conference but that's the thing we get to know God by being intentional by spending that time with him and I did a video on how to hear God's voice and spending time with them as well so you can check it out but Romans 12 and 2 says we are not to conform to this world but were to be renewed we're true knew our mind with this Word of God again many people want with others have but they just don't want to pay the cost to get there you might look at a girl's body and be like mmm how she's so skinny after autumn babies you didn't see how much she worked out before and why she was pregnant and how she said no I'm not gonna eat that whole loaf of bread before I go to bed and no I'm not gonna eat all that candy before I go to bed she works for her body she worked hard although you know physical activity and working out profits little and you know that Scripture but that's the thing working out is beautiful thing so if you are tired of the way you look and you feel like oh you know I'm not happy with why I'm jealous of everybody else's body girl you need to you need to go on a healthy lifestyle eating which means you just go and you have to learn go get some books go on the raw food diet eat healthy do your research exercise get out go for a run go for a walk start somewhere don't sit there and be jealous of what everybody else is doing why you just sit there and you're like just not happy honey the plans that God has for you are so good don't waste all of your time here on this earth wishing you had something else wishing you were married to somebody else wishing you had this or wishing you had that none of them when those thoughts come in your head be jealous are and that's the enemy do you not see the enemy trying to cause division and confusion in your heart be jealous of that girl yet be just her because she has everything you don't have anything who do you think's tell me that that's the enemy don't sit there and entertain him no I cast you out in the name of Jesus dead demon you can't speak to me okay talk to me he's got no authority over me I've authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you hurt me now you gotta fight back are you fighting back with the enemy are you like you right I ain't got nothing I ain't nobody no you are you're somebody through Christ so I love you I love you ladies and that's the thing like I was in my prayer and the Lord just pressed this area of my heart so I was like I need to run and record a video on and just talk about it because it's so important and it's something that we have to revisit constantly and constantly but I'm praying for you let's just pray over that spirit can we pray this beer so father in the name of Jesus I just pray for anybody that might be watching this video I thank you for their life we bind that spirit of jealousy and vini doubt worry any of those insecurities that they might be dealing with on the inside of them we bind those spirits right now in the name of Jesus they will have no place in their life they will walk by faith and they will not walk by sight they hear God's voice the voice of a stranger they don't foul God they know you will never fail them you will never forsake them and I think you got they are content with what they have they're content with their currencies and even if they don't understand even if it's hard even if they're frustrated I thank you that they are bold and they're courageous for you I think that they're focused on heavenly things and that meaningless things on this earth I think you got that they trust your perfect timing for their life I pray God that they're free from the hurt of jealousy and bitterness I pray that they will fight back when the enemy comes to try to attack their mind with this area again I pray they walk in your freedom God and they will encourage their sisters and support them and build them up and I pray that they just become a woman that's so holding you God that you're all they really need so I just pray for my sisters now in Jesus name Amen amen I love you guys I do I love you don't be jealous of nobody just don't it's not worth it it's not worth it that's your sister and we're the body of Christ the arm can't be jealous with the other part of the arm because both have a function and if one is hurt and one is down that it's going to affect the other one because it has to pick it up and work extra hard both arms matter and you matter and I matter and your sisters in Christ and your brothers across all over the world matter we all have a part to play because we all have a part to play there's no sense in being jealous of what mothers have all right I love you guys make sure you subscribe talk to you later
