Fox News Host Bret Baier’s Son Forced to Have Emergency Surgery After Aneurysm

someone else setting the record straight Fox newss anchor Brett Bear whose son was forced to undergo emergency surgery last week after an MRI revealed that the 16-year-old had a golf ball-sized aneurysm Brett joins me now Brett we know this is Paul's fifth open heart surgery first and foremost how is he doing yeah thanks he's doing really well he's on the mend uh he's home in good spirits and he's hitting all the marks you know this has been a long journey we were with you inside your home in 2009 and we've had a chance to follow Paul's Journey how has he been doing otherwise really great I mean he's 6'4 if I look up to him and you know this was a surprise we just didn't see it coming and as you followed it from a baby when he had five congenital heart defects the biggest thing was it came on an X-ray when he was going into for a doctor to see if he had a virus and uh the doctor just took an X-ray of his chest and that led to the discovery of this aneurysm so we were very lucky and um it's maybe some divine intervention there how's he doing how are his spirits because he is a kid who every time we've had a chance to see him or talk to him he has been very resilient I keep the upbeat attitude because I just know that there's some kids that are have it worse than me yeah he's in really good spirits and he wants to get back on the golf course and he asked his surgeon when he got out of anesthesia he said how long until I can chip and pot I know you and Jimmy Kimmel share a special bond daddy cries on TV but Billy doesn't it's on I'm a father who went through the same thing and I wanted to reach out to you and say there's a light at the end of the tunnel recently Jimmy posted some pictures of Billy celebrating his seventh birthday have you been in touch with him since Paul had this latest setback not this last one but the previous surgery I did exchange emails with with Jimmy and uh eventually went on his show and cardiac dads do link up Brett thanks so much for coming on giving us an update you know our thoughts and prayers are with Paul and your entire family take care always good to talk to you
