hello I wanted to just share a few things about and I SPECT of the Academy of lightin what we're doing at the moment we're all aware that there is a harvest coming in the harvest that God's going to bring in which is the greatest harvest year the church's ever experienced and we need to be ready for that and so one aspect of the Academy of Light is to prepare and make available material to teach this whole new generation of people that are coming in and the harvest will be so great that everyone will be needed to teach help disciple and help mature some of these new Christians and so we're going to take initially a fresh look at the basic foundation and they're important the Foundation's are very very important and adult people might think that well these are very basic but they're very important and they're not actually that basic as we think and so we're going to take a fresh look at the foundation you know we need to understand there is a difference between born again being born again and living in the kingdom of God you can be born again and not experience not live in that realm of the kingdom of God and so it's important to understand that distinction and so we're going we're going to look at that these foundations take a step by step into the kingdom of God you can be born again by the Spirit of God but there's much further to go and you go any further into the kingdom of God you have to lay certain foundations in your life and if these foundations are not laid in your life and not experienced at the daily thing with the Lord you cannot progress any further into the kingdom so so many people live on the peripheral they see the kingdom of far-off oh yes they are born again a little bit like the children of Israel have died in the wilderness they were Christian type of Christians but they died in the wilderness and they never saw the promised land of close up they saw it at a distance from a place called Kadesh Barnea where they could see the promised land but they never entered into it they died as a type of Christians who just died on the peripheral never entering into the fullness of what God the purpose for them you see in order to experience the kingdom in order for us to live in the kingdom the kingdom of God is a realm of spirit and of order for us to feel good interact with that and live in that and and and know that realm there are certain foundations that must be laid in our lives and if these foundations are not laid we cannot proceed any further and so we're going to look at that we're producing a manual at the present time and it will be the first stages of this entering the kingdom of God and we'll be dealing with the six foundations in the book of Hebrews and how important it is you see it's not enough just to have knowledge of these things we can say yeah I understand the foundation guy I understand it's not enough I understand it's not enough to have knowledge you have to experience these because each experience is life-changing but not just experience them as a one-off thing we have to walk in the reality of that experience on a daily basis and so each step this foundation takes us further into the kingdom of God until we find ourselves walking in the realm of the Spirit with Jesus walking in his kingdom and so this is the first manual that we will produce which is designed to get you into the kingdom level of walking in the kingdom and then we will produce other manuals which take us further on and and so because there's a difference in paper sizes between America and the rest of the english-speaking world mercury use letter size most of the rest of english-speaking world use what we call a four it is it is we have a problem of a formatting problem and so we are mailing this manual out in stages in PDF format so it's important that you have on your computer the ability to open PDFs and use that if you don't have that you can take a look at the link and just load it down so that we you can receive what we're mailing out to you and I trust that this will be a real blessing to you and it's important that again it's not just knowledge you must experience this before you can teach it to others it must become a reality to you and you must walking in it on a daily basis in each one of these foundations and they're not just something you experienced and leave behind the experience of these foundations becomes a way of life once you've experienced it and are walking in each of these you can teach them then to others within anointing and convey it with understanding to the people you're trying to teach a whole generation needs to be grounded in these foundations so that they can mature quickly and move on in God so this is the first stage of this aspect of the academy of light in which we're doing and we trust that you'll enjoy it that it will be a blessing to you we are dealing with at the moment the first principles or the basic foundations which are necessary in order for us to continue on into the kingdom of God and today we're going to look at the doctrine of baptisms in Hebrews chapter 6 and verse 2 it talks about the doctrine of baptisms as been as one of the foundations we need to establish in our life before we can go on now there are two baptisms that we need to receive one is baptism in water and the other is the baptism in the Holy Spirit there is a baptism of fire which we'll deal with later but today we're going to look at the baptism and water what it really means and in the first Corinthians chapter 10 and verses 1 and 2 it reads like this moreover brethren I would not that you should be ignorant how that all of our fathers were under the cloud and all passed through the sea and all were baptized and to Moses in the cloud and in the sea so in the journey of the children of Israel they had kept Passover they which speak of salvation but they there was something else which they had to do they had to come further on and experience something else and it says that the hyperpatch through the water and the cloud and all who enter the kingdom and go further into the kingdom must past also through the water and the cloud and you know the children of Israel left Egypt and immediately passed through the Red Sea they were redeemed by the blood of Jesus through keeping Passover or entire patli through the blood of Jesus by keeping the Passover but the journey was just beginning you see many Christians they experienced redemption through the blood of Jesus but they never continued on they never pass through the water they don't experience the baptism of water and what that really means in their lives and so they limit their experience to that level and they never go any further on you know when the children of Israel kept the pack over it says they had to be dressed I have the shoes on I have to had to stop in their hand they will have to be ready to move out in other words that experienced Passover was just the first step in a journey it was just the beginning in a journey and you know many Christians just experienced the redemption through the blood but they never continued on into the Promised Land they keep the Passover but they don't go any further Exodus chapter 12 and verse 11 says and thus you shall eat it with your loins girded your shoes on your feet your stuff in your hand and you shall eat it in haste because it is the Lord's Passover see they ate it in haste their shoes on stop in their hand ready to move out it was just the beginning of the journey and the first step after redemption through the blood of Jesus was to pass through the water the Red Sea now to the Christians this speaks of water baptism and it's the next step after being born again by the Spirit of God and the purpose you know for Israel was not just redemption through the blood God wanted to take them to a promised land God wanted to take them much further and there were steps on that journey which we must fulfill just like they did and you know many Christians died get to heaven and they live in Paradise for the rest of their lives they never get any further into the kingdom of God they are limited to the outer courts of heaven they have never moved on and we need to understand this you know the words of Jesus said this John chapter 3 in verse 5 jesus answered verily verily I say unto you except a man be born of the water and of the spirit you cannot enter the kingdom of God so what does it mean to be baptized in water and why is it so important now we need to know something here we're not talking about infant baptism you know when you bring a newborn child and it you have infant baptism we're talking about believers baptism this is foreign to those who have accepted the Lord as their Savior it's believers baptism and baptism is a place it's not just a ritual it's a place where we surrender to the Lord it is place of death it's a place where we surrender our own will it's a place to die and you know it's a declaration of surrender it's a declaration of our total allegiance to Jesus in Romans chapter six and verse four it tells us therefore we are buried with him in Baptism and to death that like us into Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life buried with him in Baptism coming up out of the water and then had the ability to walk in newness of life verse five for if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death we shall also in the likeness of his resurrection knowingness that an old miner all nature is crucified with him that this body of sin might be destroyed that henceforth we should not serve sin but he that is dead is freed from sin now it's talking about back to them as something that involved a death it involves a total declaration of surrender to the Lord it involves a total laying down of our lives going into the water our old life are always our old allegiances are buried we rise out of that water into newness of life surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ where the power of sin is broken over that person's life one side of water baptism is death going into the waters the other side is a resurrection into newness of life coming up out of the waters you see it is impossible to proceed further into the kingdom without this death and resurrection experience it's not optional if you want to continue on into the kingdom Jesus said this in John chapter 3 in verse 3 unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom then he said in John 3 and verse 5 unless you are born of the water and the spirit you kind of enter the kingdom he wanted experience the other is a procession of a journey and so these keys or doorways into the kingdom must be entered and experienced in order for us to proceed on into the kingdom of God salvation we were given a new nature now we must bury the old nature through water baptism and total surrender to the Lord total commitment and allegiance to him and we must bury the old and if we don't do that it will interfere with our new nature and so we will have a conflict between the old nature and the new nature you know I've seen a many evangelistic crusade thousands of people coming to the Lord you know and it's months later you can't find these people who made these decisions what happened to them see they never moved on they never went in on into the kingdom they never came to the place of the crucifixion of the old life the putting to death of the old nature and the living in the new nature and you know through the last 40 years in ministry administered on many many mission fields of the Europe of the world and one thing becomes very everyn evident in regard to this and establishing new Christians in the Lord I have found that unless they were baptized in water 90% of them at least 90% of them went back to their old life there wasn't a severance of the old ways it wasn't the putting to death of the old fallen nature and so it is very very important baptism needs to be understood as a burial and a resurrection that not just seen as an act of obedience it is much much more than that through water baptism when it's understood as a burial of the old and a resurrection into the new a barrier is built between us by the power of God and Satan important to understand that it's not just another Christian religion you know so often water baptism is just being taught as an act of obedience to God's Word and and a testimony to others that we receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior it is much much more than that it's not just another ritual a power is released water baptism that cut off the person who has been baptized from the old life of the power of that old life when a person who has been baptized in water understands this understand that he is precipitating in a burial he's consenting to dying to the old nature and giving his total allegiance to Jesus you know and taking Jesus as a lord complete Lord of his life a power comes into play that severed the old life and it's important to understand it they go into the water there's one person in Kumada another water baptism isn't a very very important step Romans chapter 6 in verse 3 is knowing know ye not that so many as were bad ties into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death therefore in verse 4 we are buried with him in Baptism unto death that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life you know and so it says in verse 6 knowing this that our old nature or old man is crucified with him that this body of sin might be destroyed so henceforth it would not have any power over us henceforth we should not serve sin it's important that if you're teaching people about water baptism that they really do understand this it is a complete and absolute surrender it's not just an act of obedience it is not just another Christian ritual it is a declaration of surrender and I say understand that this consecration of their lives to the Lord and has surrendered to him a power will come into play as they come up out of those waters which cuts off the access of Satan into that person's life you know and so the Bible talks about being crucified with Christ laying down in our old life being crucified and dying daily for instance in 1st Corinthians 15:3 oh I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord I die daily so Paul is saying that they should walk in it it's not just a one-off word event it's a choice from then on when the power of sin has been broken in our lives through the death of Jesus and acknowledgment of that through water baptism we have a choice now to sin or not to sin then does not have a power over anymore but we have a choice when we choose not to sin a power comes into play to enable to walk in righteousness before the Lord it's wrecking yourself to be dead understand do not let sin reign in your in your mortal body so it's a choice you see and so before you buried the old nature sin had dominion over you when you came up out of that water baptism it no longer had dominion over you it was not just a choice and so we need to understand that now it's to sin or not to sin it becomes that choice and when you choose not to then the power of God comes into play and causes you to walk in that newness of life and so the power of sin is broken through water baptism and we need to understand that and so this is a very important foundation a foundation that needs to be laid in our lives we need to understand it better and as teaching it we need to teach it thoroughly so that the people who are baptized are not just at Christian ritual but are entering into a death and a resurrection into a new person it's important to lay it in your life welcome back to the Academy of Light we are doing a series on foundations the first principle is found in Hebrews chapter 6 and today we're going to look at the baptism of the Holy Spirit it's one of the foundations listed there which we need to have part of our experience in order to go further into the kingdom of God there are two kinds of baptisms listed there is the baptism in water and baptism and the Holy Spirit and so we're going to look today at the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Acts chapter 2 and verse 38 Peter said this then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission since so that was talking about water baptism and anyway I understood it and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit okay two different things there was a baptism water and the gift of the Holy Spirit and the gift of the Holy Spirit or the baptism and the Holy Spirit comes after water baptism and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit that is after and we see also when Jesus was baptized in water the Bible says heaven opens and a job came down the symbol of the Holy Spirit came down upon him so you have the baptism in water the Holy Spirit descending upon you and Matthew chapter 3 and verse 16 and Jesus when he was baptized went up straightway out of the water and lo the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending upon him like a dove and lighting upon him and while the order of these two experiences is not rigid it is preferable and we'll look at why it is preferable you know water baptism prepares a way for the baptism in the Holy Spirit and you know we have found it a lot easier to get people baptized in the Holy Spirit after they have been baptized in water and preferably while they're still in the border baptismal tank and you know once a person has been baptized in water in water you know they've surrendered their lives to the Lord they've gone through this process of water baptism and absolute surrender to the Lord laying down their life it's like a house that is being swept clean now to send them away without receiving the Holy Spirit can cause some real problems and because the house is being swept clean and then you send them away they're open to attack from the enemy and open to attack from satanic spirits and though the person may receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit at a later date you might have problems with them some because they may need deliverance from evil spirits which have never been dealt with in their lives and so there is a special anointing to receive the baptism and the Holy Spirit during a water baptismal service really important to understand this and those being baptized in water should be taught how to receive the Holy Spirit during the water baptismal service and you know we have seen some very powerful water baptism of services where you know as a person comes up out of the water in the senses they brought up out of the water the wait in the presence of the Lord the Holy Spirit baptizes them and we've seen them slain in the spirit or ours had to carry them out of the tank lay them in rows as they just under the power and anointing of the infilling and the baptism of the Holy Spirit now the first part of the journey of the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt they kept the Passover salvation that came out of Egypt through the water Red Sea they came for travel for 50 days and came to Mount Sinai and Leviticus chapter 23 in verse 15 says and you shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath from the day that you brought the sheep or the wave offering and so after Passover says you're to count seven Sabbath's 49 days shall be completed even unto the morrow after the seventh seventh shall number fifty days so you go fifty days they came for fifty days and you shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord now the feast of Pentecost was kept 50 days after Passover they left Egypt they started on their journey and salvation kind of got them started on their journey they went for 50 days and they then they came to a place all came to an experience called Pentecost 50 in the Hebrew means of Pentecost means 50 and so Pentecost is a New Testament Feast of Pentecost and so it's important to understand this in the Old Testament was called the Feast of the firstfruits or the feast of weeks because they had to go certain amount of weeks before they came to this next fifty days or Pentecost to this point now Jesus died on the cross when the Jewish people were keeping the feast of Passover while they were keeping the feast of Passover Jesus was dying on the cross and when Jesus rose from the dead the Bible says he continued with him off and on for forty days Acts chapter one and verse three says to whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs being seen of them for forty days and talking to them about the kingdom of God and it goes on to say and then being assembled together with them commanded that they should not leave Jerusalem not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the father which says he have you heard of him now in Acts chapter 1 5 it says John truly baptized you with water but I shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit in many days hands and so they waited 40 days you know then exactly 10 days later after the forty days were up they were to go into the upper room and they were to wait for 10 days and so when the Jewish people were literally keeping the feast of weeks or the Feast of Pentecost in Jerusalem Pentecost came in the upper room and they were baptized in the Holy Spirit so they walked waited 40 days and an extra 10 and you know it says in Acts chapter 2 in verse 1 tells us that when the day of Pentecost was fully come neither wait 250 days a window or when the fifty days from Passover would accomplish the Holy Spirit fell on them and there were all baptized in the Holy Spirit see it's not enough just to be water baptized that started the journey but there was another foundation which had to be laid in their lives and needed to be baptized in the Holy Spirit acts 1:8 you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem Judea Samaria and then to the other most parts of the earth now it's noteworthy that Jesus would not allow them to go out and preach the gospel until they had first been baptized with the Holy Spirit very important to recognize that and so the pattern is clear the disciples received the Holy Spirit they spoke in tongues and John chapter 7 and verse 38 says he that believeth on me Jesus said the scripture said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water thus he spake of the Spirit which they should believe on him should receive see the first I have to believe on him Passover comes first and then they would receive for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified and so when a person receives the Holy Spirit a river starts to flow out of them in this river generally speak is recognized as speaking and other tongues now this infilling of the Holy Spirit is not a one-off event it is a way of life and it's important to teach new Christians that once they have been baptized and water baptized in the Holy Spirit they need to stay filled with the Holy Spirit and in Acts chapter 4 it says in Acts chapter 431 and when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke the Word of God with boldness so again they will over the spirit you know spending time in prayer and worship and seeking God in the presence of the Lord is an essential theme time essentially to be continually filled with the spirit now you might tell why speak in tongues why do we speak in tongues the Apostle Paul said I speak in tongues more than you all why did he say that why was it so important to him but this condition is 1418 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than you all why did he say that why was that so important to him we need first to understand the difference between speaking in tongues and the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues with an interpretation when Paul said I speak in tongues more than you all he was talking about in his prayer life or devotional tongues and praying in other tongues and we need to pray in the spirit pray in other tongues for the following reason Bible closes in 1st Corinthians 14 and verse 2 he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not under man but unto God for for under but unto God for no man understands how be at the spirit speaks mysteries he let speaketh in an unknown tongue edifies himself firstly he that's pray the speaking on our tongue speaks unto God the Bible says and what we speak or pray is in the perfect will of God for us this is very important and it's quite profound because we are told that if we ask anything according to his will he were granted he hears us and we have that petition tells us that first John chapter 5 in verse 14 this is the confidence that we have that we are in him that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us and if we know that he hears us whatsoever we ask we know that we have the petition that we desired of him so when we ask for something in them in the will of God it is granted and so this is very profound we need to understand them when praying and other tongues we are praying in the perfect will of God and that will be answered you know many times we don't know how to pray for ourselves or for others but praying in other tongues we pray in the perfect will of God and that prayer will always be answered you know likewise Romans chapter 8 26 likewise the spirit helps our weaknesses for we do not know how to pray as we ought that the spirit of self makes intercession for us and so we see that and it's very interesting that after this passage of scripture about talking about in Romans 8 26 and 27 how God searches the hearts and they as we pray in the spirit he's making intercession for us and we are praying in the perfect will of God then he goes on to say in verse 20 Romans 8:28 and we know then that all things work together for good to them that love God the called according to his purpose because we praying in the perfect will of God every prayer that we pray in that praying and other tongues is answered and all things start to work together for good for us secondly when we pray in an unknown tongue it says we edifying ourselves first Corinthians 4 and verse 14 we edify ourselves and that word edify is from a Greek word which means to build a house to build a building to be enlarged and to build a house and what does that mean where does that has been built when we pray in the spirit it's built inside of us edifice or to build something with inside us you know first Peter 2:5 says you are lively stones you know I built up a spiritual house a holy priesthood that's inside us and know ye not that you are the Temple of the Living God that's inside of us you see and as you pray in tongues you're constructing something you're praying in the spirit your capacity becomes enlarged you pray in the perfect will of God and something is being built your spirit has been enlarged within us and you know when we our spirit becomes enlarged we comprehend God in a much greater level we were able to walk with God in a much greater level and you know second Corinthians 6 and verse 13 tells us that now for a recompense in the same I speak unto my children be enlarged and so we are enlarged as we pray in the spirit and this is an important step that we have to make praying in other tongues being baptized in the Holy Spirit the prayer is answered we're empowered by the Holy Spirit to heal the sick to pray for people there's an enjoyment of power from on high to speak the Word of God with power you need the baptism of the holy spirit and you need a life of learning to pray in the spirit praying in tongues so that you're analyzed in God and all things work together for good for you this is a part of the journey you have to take being filled with the Holy Spirit after water baptism god bless you welcome back to the Academy of Light these DVDs are complementary to the manual entitled the first principles and today we're going to look at the second foundation which is listed in heroes chapter 6 as faith towards God Hebrews chapter 6 and verse 1 reads like this therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ let us go on unto perfection not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith towards God okay you know the Bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God that's an incredible statement recorded in Hebrews 6 11 but without faith it is impossible to please him but he that comes to God must believe that he is first and secondly that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him that's quite a remarkable statement if we come to God we must believe that he is that he exists and that he hears her and that he here is a rewarder of those that seek him you know in our approach to God God answers some simple things yes really he said believe me and love me or love me and believe me and in our approach to God these two things are very very important you see to walk with God requires faith and obedience and the two are eternally into woven you cannot really separate them faced the Bible describes faith as something that we have and and and all we can acquire and it occurs 223 times in the New Testament believing is a different word to faith believing it is something we do that occurs 104 times in the New Testament the word faith in the Greek it is a from a noun which a Greek noun which means it's something that we possess or something that we have the word believe in the group is the word and it means something we do they're both different believing God there's something different to having faced and to believe we have to water unbelief and act as if what we have faithful already exists now Psalm 27 and verse 13 King David said I would have fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of God in the land of the living and in mark chapter 9 and verse 23 jesus said unto him if you can't believe all things are possible to him that believeth but that would believe is not the word for faith it's a different word and then again in mark 11:24 therefore I turn to you what two other things that you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them faith is something that comes to us as an impartation believing is the process believing is a process of confessing on what we believe it is a process of casting down all thoughts that are contrary to what you have faithful you see Romans chapter 10 verse 17 tells it says now faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God it is something that comes faith cometh which implies you didn't have it until it comes you don't have it until it comes and we need to understand the difference of this you know faith is a very intangible thing it is a very powerful thing it is a power when faith is imparted to it towards your spirit comes alive with it it brings a power with it when we operate in faith we operate in the power of God when we believe or act upon that faith that power is released now the other thing we need to look at is the Bible tells us faith work by love English ins 5 and verse 6 it says for in Jesus Christ is neither circumcision availeth anything nor uncircumcision but faith that worketh by love it would work it here it is a verse that is translated from the Greek it is a word is a Greek word and energy or which were one we get our English word energy from and it it's a faith energy energizes faith sorry love energizes faith it gives the power to it you say love is the highest form of energy in the universe true love generates an energy which is the highest form of energy in the universe it is not something abstract it is a power God is love that's who he is not what he has that's who he is and God is light my god is emanating love light flows from him and it is an extension of who God is that that light is the extension of who God is and now what does this mean 12 you know motives are very very important to God very important God looks at why we want something he looks at why we do things and he looks at our desires what what is motivating our desires for things and you know if I desires are motivated by love it really releases something when our desires our motivations what we want from God is motivated by love Bell opens the realm of God's heart to us it don't open the realm of God's power to us and it releases the power of faith love faith which is activated by love faith is empowered by love the level of our faith is determined by our motivation for what we are believing God for we have to walk by faith everything we do is by faith I walk with God everything 2 Corinthians 5:7 says for we walk by faith and not by sight and we need to understand that you know there is a physical world that is real there is the spiritual world that is real the realm of it is far more round real than this physical world we exist as it were in two parallel worlds one is physical the other is spiritual and to be able to interact with that unseen realm requires place you must believe God is and that we can access him in his realm the invisible realm he that comes to God must believe that he is and we must believe this is fundamental from being able to access that realm if you don't believe that you can access that room well then you can't connecting with the spiritual kingdom of God requires faith not just knowledge it requires faith you know I do twice faith to walk with Jesus and the spirit the Apostle Paul said we walk by faith and not by natural sight you know by far most of God's communication with man in the Bible which through visions and dreams the third level was through the spoken voice the word but it was visions and dreams at a prominent in the way God communicated with people in the Bible and in order to access that realm we have to move in faith it is a realm beyond our natural senses see John the Apostle John said I was in the spirit on the Lord's Day what's that mean he entered another parallel world he entered another dimension that of Spirit and it was then that he heard a voice say come up here and the book of Revelation was written out of that and so we see that you know there are two realms we don't need faith to walk in this physical realm but to walk in an unseen realm requires faith you got - God must believe that he exists and that we can interact with him he that comes to God must believe that he exists and now we can interact with him see strongholds of unbelief has to be broken up here in our mind dismantled most people most Christians have been taught that the realm of visions and dreams and God speaking to them clearly you know is for special people or for special occasions and but it's a lie it's not true if you believe that you can't walk with God like that in that realm then you can't but if you believe that you can walk with God in that realm then you can you know the work that Elijah had and Enoch Moses and pour they were there for our example they were there as we see their lives and how they walk with God they serve as an example of how we can walk with God strongholds you say in false teaching has to be broken you have to come to a place in space that we can walk with God and believe that we can to interact with Jesus who is an invisible spirit requires faith have to believe that you can do it you have to believe that you are hearing from that realm they the word faith towards God in Hebrews chapter six and verse one is an interesting word that towards this foundation faith towards God and in the Greek word that would toward is the Greek word epi and it means and let me well the same word is used you know in 2nd Timothy 3:7 in conjunction with the word knowledge Paul here is talking about it's not enough to have natural knowledge just intellectual knowledge or learning we have to have knowledge that come to us comes to us by encountering actually encountering the source of that knowledge which is Jesus of course and when it says faith towards God it's a faith that comes by encountering the Lord by hearing him speak to us from another parallel dimension not speaking to us from this realm but speaking to us from another realm hearing it and believing it imparts faith you see into our lives and the Apostle Paul in second Timothy 3 some talks about those who are ever learning but never coming to the reality of the truth never coming you see to the knowledge of the truth and ever learning never experience Lee never encountering the source of that knowledge it's having faith towards God means having faith by superimposition of Adam one dimension over another and you know this is fundamental if we do not learn to walk by faith we cannot go any further and the thing is that's going to set up tests for you so that you have to learn to walk by faith you have to pass the test you know and just looking for a promise in God's Word to fit your situation is not good enough you have to hear that promise personally spoken to you from another dimension faith comes that way then the act of believing comes into place you see 2 Corinthians 3 in verse fixes who also have made us able ministers of the New Testament not of the letter but of the spirit the letter kills but the spirit that which comes from that realm brings life faith comes by hearing from the invisible realm of God that of spirit and hearing by the Word of God that Rhema word of God that word that is quickened to us from a dimension outside of this physical dimension that comes to us and you're going to have to be tested and learn to walk by faith some of these tests can be pretty severe at times I've been playing some tests of faith in my life which were very very severe and learning to trust God and you know the Bible tells us that by faith Enoch was translated we always think of Enoch law you know you walk with God suddenly God took him simple as that says by faith he was translated he actually had to exercise faith in order to be translated it was not a sovereign act of God he had to learn to walk by faith he believed he could be translated and he believed that he would be translated the 2nd Corinthians 4:18 it says why we look not a things which are same at his physical world but we can look at things which are not seen in this physical world for the things which are seen in this physical world are temporal but the things which we see in the realm of the kingdom realm that parallel realm that's just outside of a natural vision if we can learn to walk in that realm look at things which are not saying with the physical eyes that takes faith to believe that what you're saying is real what you're here from that realm is real a the Bible tells in Hebrews 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for it is the evidence of things not seen when garden parts crave to you and come remember faith comes when God imparts faith to you substance is created now if we continue to believe and compress right hold strongly to that that substance will form into a reality in our physical world an unseen substance will become physical so the word God requires faith the natural mind the Bible tells us in Romans 8:7 is the enemy of walking with God you have to get beyond this natural physical world a natural way of thinking those in the flesh cannot please God so there are two important Kingdom laws faith and love now the whole of God's kingdom operates on those two doors Romans chapter 3 verse 27 where then is the posting then it is excluded by what law of works no but the law of faith you see Paul understood there is a law at work in the young scene realm it is a law of faith in James said in James chapter 2 and verse 8 if you fulfill the Royal law why is that royal for according to the scriptures this if you fall so the Royal law according to the scriptures that shalt love thy neighbor as yourself you do well see the law of faith the world of faith operates out of love at law faith operates by love is the law of faith pace comes it's something that's imparted by encountering youngsaeng realm comes by encountering oh Jesus word from the unseen realm the voice of the Holy Spirit the voice of God and faith and love are inseparable visions 3:17 that Christ might dwell in your heart by faith that you've been rooted and grounded in love see the tools work together you believe God dwells in your heart by faith and the fullness of the gut head 12 within you bodily that requires a bit of faith you know you see an image obedient you see also is the root of love you said if you love me you'll obey me if we obey the Lord because we love him now these things all work together faith Springs out of union with the Lord and it's activated by love or obedience to him the more you learn the moving faith or more faith will be imparted the more he can trust you with faith the more faith he will impart to you and you know Mark chapter 4 and verse 24 and said unto them take heed what you hear for for with the measure shall ye mete it shall be measured unto you and unto you that here some more be given see the more we lose learn the moving face the more it's given to us and so we have to lay this foundation in our lives it has to be a walk of faith we walk by it with the Lord in the spirit by faith it's not something natural to the natural mind to walk in the realm of the Spirit it takes faith to believe what we see and what we hear is in the realm of God and you have to believe that you can do it don't believe you can do it if you believe it for some spiritual Giants you'll never walk in there and you'll set your level that this foundation will never be properly laid in your life and so without faith we cannot please God faith comes from hearing from another dimension the whole journey that we're on is a journey walk by faith the natural mind cannot comprehend it love has to be the motivation of what we want from God for ourselves what we want from God for others let me say that again love has to be the motivation of our desires what we want for ourselves from God and what we want for other when that love comes together good faith is empowered and we learn to walk in this realm of this spirit and it becomes a final way of life a space walk in God he that comes to God must believe that he is and that we can access his realm I walk with him he will be a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him so we must lay the second foundation before we can go any further we have to learn to walk in faith God will set you tests they'll be some tests some trials some situations where you're going to have to really exercise have faith and believe leaving is something you do faith is something you have and God well what carefully to see that you pass the test as you pass the test it's become established in your life becomes a way of life and you continue on in this journey and so today we're going to be talking about the second part of the second chapter in the manual which is entitled let us go on in Hebrews chapter 6 in verse 1 it says therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ in other words leaving something behind let us go on to perfection not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and faith towards God cetera and then in verse three it did and this we will do if God will permit us to so you know the Apostle Paul in this passage of Scripture is talking about the Christian life as a journey it is a journey most people most Christians stop somewhere on the journey and don't go any further but Paul said that this is a journey we have to go on and leaving behind the basic foundations which need to be established in our life once they are established in our life then we can start to move on and so if they're constantly moving on and but to move on these foundations have to be laid and so the Bible tells us if God permit what what why wouldn't he permit it or not permit us to move on you see this if we don't establish these foundations in our life not just as head knowledge but as experience and as a constant reality of walking in them in our daily lives God will and not allow us to go further on into the kingdom of God he to really understand this so that we don't get bogged down at a level and stay there for the rest of our lives if God permit then he says let us go on to perfection an interesting word in in the Greek language and it has a meaning to of completeness or to finish the journey and he's talking about a process of starting point and a finishing point and you know most Christians live their Christian lives on a very mediocre level and you know they don't go any further they reach a point and they stay there and you know that's really not what it's all about we are to continue on we are to move on for instance you know some people just receive salvation they may experience the baptism in water and that's where they stay and quite often these levels except by the teachings of specific denominations and so you can be born again you can be baptized in water and stay there for the rest of your life but you see all of these foundations have to be laid in order for us to move on and it's really important that we understand this you know the Apostle Paul had some problems with the Corinthian church of Church of Corinth and he said in first Corinthians 3 and verse 1 he said and I brethren could not speak to you again to spiritual but you were just babes in Christ and verse 2 I have fed you with milk and not with meat but hitherto you were not able to bear it and you're still not able to bear it and so this is the problem he had with the Corinthian church and these foundations these six foundations are known as the teachings of Christ therefore Hebrews 6:4 leaving the principles of the doctrine or the teachings of Christ and so these teachings of Christ have to be laid in our lives you know it's really important that Jesus talked about the foundations we build upon they have to be right and you know it talks about Jesus has been the stone in Acts chapter 4 in verse 11 this is the stone it says which was set at nought of you builders which became the head of the corner say his teachings are the foundations the teachings of Jesus are the stone and Matthew chapter 7 in verse 24 says whoso heareth these sayings of mine I will liken him to a wise man which built his house upon the rock see the stains of mine so the teachings of Jesus and only when these foundations are properly laid can we move on the six foundations of a is repentance from dead works faith towards God the doctrine of baptisms dr. another teaching of laying on our hands the teaching of the resurrection of the dead and the teaching on eternal judgments so we look at the first one today this foundation repentance from dead works it's a foundation stone that has to be laid in our lives and so the voyage into the kingdom of God starts with repentance it is a turning point from this world into another world the kingdom of God and salvation obviously starts with and is realized by continuous repentance not just a one-off thing but a lifestyle of repentance today marks chapter 1 and verse 15 it says and saying the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand see the kingdom of God is at hand repent and believe the gospel we enter in through repentance and believing the gospel you know but we need to understand this is not just a one-off event this is a continuous experience and it must become a way of life the attitude of repentance needs to be built into our lives I can Unknowing experience see it is the work of the Holy Spirit to bring us to repentance in John chapter 16 and verse 8 it says and and when he has come he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and judgment he's that's the work of the Holy Spirit and the Apostle John when writing to the New Testament church were around 1890 talks about the need of continuous repentance and John made it clear that if we are to walk in continuous fellowship with the law would we have to walk in continuous repentance first John chapter 1 verse 8 leaves like this if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us now he's talking to Christians here spiritual Christians verse 9 and if we confess our sin he's faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we say that we have not sinned we make him a liar and then in verse 1 John 2 in verse 1 my little children these things are right unto you that you sin not but if any man sin we have an advocate with the father Christ Jesus now as we abar embark upon this walk into the kingdom of God the further we go the level of repute in our lives increases okay which means there is a continuous gate of repentance going on in our lives the further we go into the kingdom of God the greater the conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit in our lives and we begin to realize that the requirements now as we move on become greater you know up to this point there are many things in our lives which we wouldn't even consider as sin until we get further into the kingdom of God and the Holy Spirit begins to unveil a whole new level our necessity for purity in our lives proverbs chapter 4 verse 18 but the path of the just is this a shining light light shining more and more unto that perfect day see that perfect day Isaiah chapter 26 and verse 7 tells us the way of the just is uprightness thou most upright to weigh the path of the just so the Holy Spirit monitors see we cannot go further until for the levels of purity have been established within our lives this is stage 2 right our Christian walk it is part of the journey and as God's convicted of sin we repent and so the further we walk into the kingdom the more purity is required of us it's like the way becomes narrower as we move further forward into the kingdom of God this is not just a limiter this actually freezes the pull of this world is slowly being broken in our lives as we enter further into another world an unseen world of the kingdom of God you know what we call sovereign experiences or experiences which come into our lives which have nothing to do with our purity of heart have nothing to do without standing before God a sovereign God just gives us sovereign experiences and they're usually kind of one-off experience you know but to walk in that realm requires purity of heart sovereign experiences where God comes on the scene gives us a dream of vision something happens to it in the spiritual realm when God takes us into something those are sovereign experiences the one-off events and we don't walk in them there's nothing to do with our purity of heart or our qualifying for them we just call them all the way just a sort of an experience of God but to walk in that level the further we go more purity he requires that's why this process of repentance is an ongoing thing and and so we need to understand this to walk in the light and have fellowship with the Lord requires that we embrace a lifestyle of repentance you know it's very very interesting in in the Old Testament we have a picture of heaven we have a picture of the kingdom of God in the tavern that Moses built and of course the tabernacle had an outer court and then it had what they call the holy place where there was a candlestick and at the table of showbread and so on and then there was the holiest of all but it's interesting God was manifest in the last compartment called the holiest of all that's where the might manifest presence of God was the closer we get in the tabernacle to the manifest presence of God the more gold that God required no you know this is interesting if you look in this furniture of the outer court it was made of wood and it was made of brass in the inner court the scant the candlestick and the altar of incense was made of gold in the holiest of all the Ark of the Covenant was covered in gold say the high priest would would not dare go into the holiest of all with something made of brass at that level God requires gold in our lives and you know the twenty-four elders and the living creatures before the throne of God in Revelation chapter five in Revelation chapter eight we're holding golden world because were in the presence of God now Paul the Apostle Paul when he was writing to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2 in verse 20 it says but in a great house there are not only vessels of gold but also with silver and also of wood and earth some to honor and some to dishonor if a man therefore purge himself from these he shall be a vessel of honor sanctified and meat for the Masters and prepared for every good work that God had for him so he says flee youthful lusts but follow righteousness faith love peace with them that call on the lord out of a pure heart the further we go the more gold is required the further we proceed into the kingdom of God the more purity of heart and the Apostle Paul is talking about people here in a great house there are vessels or people in the house of God they are vessels some of silver some of wood not really pure there are some of gold and if we purge ourselves from these things we can be vessels of gold and walking the manifest presence of God the further we go more gold is required and this purifying work actually is a required cooperation with the Holy Spirit who convicted of sin we are the repenting go on or we stay with where we are the electronic King David said listen in Psalm 24 verse II who shall ascend the hill of the Lord he's going to stand in that holy place he that hath clean hands and a pure heart who shall ascend it's a prat way it's a progression it is a journey we shall eventually make it to that point standing in the in his holy place he that hath clean hands and a pure heart and the journey begins with the new birth and the forgiveness of every sin out of our past and it continues on with the daily cleansing from sin as we walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit we start the journey in the outer Court where salvation is available we slowly make our way through by we finish that journey by standing in the presence of God while still in the flesh here upon the earth and you know it's interesting in Exodus chapter 30 and verse 28 is when they go into the tabernacle of the congregation they shall wash with water so that they do not die when they come near to the altar to minister to burn made by fire unto the Lord see there's a washing that takes place the further we go you know it's very very interesting there was a time when Jesus decided to wash the feet of the disciples and Peter said you're not going to wash my feet you know you are the Lord why I'm not going to let you wash my feet John chapter 13 verse 8 and Peter said unto Him you will never wash my feet but jesus answered him if I wash you not thou has no part with me whew what did he mean by that in verse 9 Simon Peter said in him Lord not my feet only but also my hands and my head he said wash all of me then jesus replied in verse 10 he said jesus said to him he that washes needed not saved to wash his feet but is clean every week you are clean but not all you know jesus responded to peter by saying you know it's it's okay just to wash your feet you see when we're born again we're born again by the Spirit of God our past is forgiven now we don't lose our salvation if after that we sin during the day we need daily cleansing and the feet is a part of us which touches this earth the earthly around there is a heavenly realm there is an earthly realm it is the feet our feet that touches this earthly realm where we pick up the dirt of this earthly world because I only need to wash your feet you've already been washed but you need I need to wash your feet that daily walk you need cleansing daily from that daily walk where you encounter this world and touch this earth and our feet represent our daily walk in this world it's a feet that touches the earth and he was saying he was saying to Peter you know it's okay I but you need to be daily washed it's a continuing process of repentance you see this journey was clearly pictured in the Old Testament as the children of Israel came out of Egypt on a journey which sent them to the promised land and this was a long journey for them you know it's very very interesting that could have made this journey in 12 months and it took them 38 years just to get the borders of the Promised Land but they could have made it in 12 months the wilderness experiences do not have to last for many many many years the purpose you know it says he tested them he proved them in the wilderness whether they would serve God and go on but they didn't pass the test did you know any chapter 8 and verse 15 it said who led you through this great and terrible wilderness wherein was serpents scorpions drought there was no water who brought you forth out of the rock of Flint brought water forth out of Raqqa Flint who fed you in the wilderness with manna which their fathers knew not that they might Humble you they might prove you in other words you had to pass the test so that he can do you good at the latter end that was a whole purpose that journey could have been done very very quickly but they complained them they murmured and they got into idolatry and they didn't pass the test and so they lived and they died in the wilderness and never reached their promised land and never completed the journey poor when he was writing in first Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 5 he said with many of them God was not well pleased for they were overthrown in the wilderness and he said this those things happened to them back there for our example us from the end of the age has come so he said that journey is the journey that we are taking to de Israel could have made it relatively quickly into the Promised Land now we're about to see a harvest of souls of such a magnitude a generation whole generation is going to be swept into the kingdom of God who if taught properly will make this journey very very quickly but before you can make to teach it you have to make this journey you have to come through it you know it was never ever God's intention that okay years and years for us to come to maturity a whole new generation is about to arise when Joshua generation that will cross over Jordan and head on into the Promised Land and we're going to see this marvelous move of God you know I guys 60 is almost upon us now arise and shine for your light has come glory of the Lord is risen upon you darkness is covering the earth doesn't matter but great light is going to come upon the church and the Gentiles shall come to that light and both Israel and the Gentile church will experience this passage of Scripture in a profound way and so we're on a journey out of Egypt into the wilderness and into the Promised Land from the outer court the holy place to the holiest of all from Passover in to Pentecost and into the Feast of Tabernacles and so it's really important that we we understand this and in order to move on we have to learn a lifestyle of repentance and to become a way of life because the further we go the more gold that is required in other words the more purity of heart that is required this doesn't take many many years to achieve if you're serious with God you're pressing on into the kingdom of God you can learn very quickly how to with God in his manifest presence okay so this first stone repentance has to be laid in our lives in order that we can continue on into the kingdom of God welcome back to the Academy of Light we're dealing with the six foundations find in the book of Hebrews and today we're going to look look at the foundations and the doctrine of laying on of hands Hebrews six and verse two and of the doctrine of baptisms and the laying on of hands now this is a foundation and we'll see why this is a foundation shortly and it is a very important foundation you see we are called to be the extension of Jesus into this physical world and we have a mandate we all have a mandate to bring a living Christ to a dying world now this may take many shapes and forms but we all have that mandate now the teaching and the reality of laying on of hand is proud of this mandate it has to be incorporated into what we are called to do and we are to become an extension of the hands of Jesus in this physical world you know the Bible talks about the mystery in Romans and in Colossians and it talks about this great mystery then it's been Higgs in ages past and in Romans chapter 16 in verse 25 it reads like this now to him that is is a power to establish you according to the gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept a secret since the world began so he's talking about something that was kept secret from the beginning of the world in Colossians chapter 1 and verse 25 where of I am made a minister according to the dispensation of which was given to me for you to fulfill the Word of God or to fulfill God's plan for his life in verse 26 even the mystery which has been hidden from the ages from generations but now is made manifest to his Saints to whom in verse 27 to whom god would make known what is the riches of his glory this mystery among the gentiles which is christ in you the hope of glory this mystery which would hid from the ages and it was made known only in this Paul's day in him had we made secret right through the Old Testament right from the time of Adam it was a secret the mystery of Christ in us which is the hope of glory and so this mystery has been hid through the ages this mystery that Paul is talking about and here this mystery of Christ which is Christ in us the hope of glory now what does this mean you think in the Old Testament God was always external to his people the prophets new and external manifestation of God's presence and external anointing but they had no understanding of all of Christ in us the mystery of Christ in us and so we need to talk about it Christ this mystery is Christ in us which is the hope of glory now what does that mean the word Hope here is the greek word ellipse which means the expectation of something good the word glory in this verse is the word doctor the greek word doctor now group the word glory is very difficult to describe it has the meaning of the true reality of a person's character on display we say they didn't it has the meaning we're talking about the word glory it has the meaning of the true reality of a person's character on display and then from that comes the appearance the appearance of that person which track attracts the attention of commands recognition you see if you're manifesting that the goodness of God there is a light around you and it's talking about this word glory the true reality of a person's character on display and or the appearance of that person which attracts attention you see if your manifestation manifesting the nature of God you're going to attract attention and the glory or the shining appearance of that person you see the more Gloria manifests the more light you manifest the more goodness you manifest the more light you manifest when Moses asked the Lord to show him his glory God said okay I'll make all my goodness to pass before you exodus 33:19 and eighteen and nineteen and he said I beseech thee show me your glory and he said I will make all my goodness to pass before you you see the glory of God and the goodness of God are the same what makes God so glorious and full of light is His goodness the more goodness you manifest the more glory you manifest and so this secret was made known to the New Testament church Christ in ER is the only hope of glory only hope for this world to see the goodness of God you know there was an incident in the New Testament where this disciple came from the land of Greece and they came to the disciples of Jesus and they said we want to see Jesus and so they disciples came to Jesus and said now these guys have come all the way down from Greece and they want to see you now the reply that Jesus gave was on the surface quite baffling it says it's recorded in John 12 20 and 21 22 and 23 to 24 says and there were certain Greeks among them that came to worship at the feast the same came therefore to Philip which are birthday day of Galilee desiring him saying sir we want to see Jesus now the request was reasonable the reply was baffling so they came to Jesus and he told them these guys want to see you and then in John chapter 12 and verse 23 and jesus answered them saying the hour has come that the shun of the Son of man should be glorified burly burly I sent you except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and it and die it abideth alone but if it dies it will bring forth much fruit very strange reply now Jesus said the time for me to be glorified in the earth has come and let the corner of wheat falls into the ground it doesn't multiply but if it falls into the ground and dies it will multiply Jesus was saying look I'm about to die I'm about to be crucified but like exceed when that seed is planted in the earth it will spring forth and rise again and that seed will be in my disciples and then they will see me in my followers in my disciples it was a profound revelation you see Jesus said earlier said if you were seeing me you have seen the partner John chapter 14 where it's 8 and 9 and this world today the people in the world who want to see Jesus have to see in us this is the hope of glory or the goodness of God in this world can only be seen through us this revelation must this mystery is important in regard to the gathering the end time harvest you know we are becoming we have become the hands of Jesus and so we need to understand it the purpose our destiny and purpose if the manifested glory or the goodness of God in many different ways in this world now one of the purposes of laying on of hands is to Commission you into that which God has called you to do whatever you are to manifest whatever you are to do in this world when he's called you to do it's a commissioning of that which takes place by the laying on of hands and prophecy this is a foundation that must be laid in your life you'll have to be commissioned and you know there are many reasons for the laying on of hands one is commissioning into your call and purpose it can be used for imparting a blessing of course it's used for healing the sick and it's used also times for the people to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit no you have a commission in this if you have a purpose in this earth we've all come to this earth with the destiny and calling with a purpose and knowing what oh that calling is now what that purpose is for you is critical to be able for you to fulfill it you see it was never God's intent that we should blunder through life without knowing the reason for being here we all need to know what we are supposed to be doing here on this planet the reason you are here and you need then the necessary equipment in order to fulfill that calling now in first Timothy chapter 4 in verse 14 recite this neglect not the gift that was given you which was given to you by prophecy and the laying on of hands okay so Timothy free we stayed the gift through prophecy and the laying on of hands and then in 2nd Timothy chapter 1 and verse 6 wherefore I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift which is in you by the putting on of my hands so there we have it again then it goes on to say you see in verse 9 2nd Timothy 1:9 who has saved you called you with a holy calling not according to our own purposes but according to his which was giving you in Christ Jesus before this world began so you know Paul is writing to Timothy and said he was saying Timothy you know before this world began before you were born into this world you're given a destiny and a purpose and it's important to understand that and through the laying on of hands and through the prophetic ministry the impartation of the gift and the commissioning of that calling was done through the laying on of hands and the prophetic words they say that came in the words of Jesus to that person to fulfill his destiny the impartation and direction is necessary these are kind of our marching orders this is what we are giving this we need to have this happen to us so that we know what we're supposed to be doing and secondly that there is an impartation impartation of the gifts or equipment we need to fulfill it until you know what you're supposed to do you kind of proceed further into the kingdom and so this is an important aspect this is a foundation which we need to have laid in our lives this foundation of the laying on of hands the commissioning with the prophetic declaration over our lives which releases us into that which God has called us to do now we need to understand that between the core you might know what you're called to do you might have some understanding between the call and being convicted being commissioned and equipped to function in that calling there is a process there is a time period where we have to prepare between a call and the Commission there is a preparation many Christians know they're calling they have some inkling of their calling but you need to understand certain things have to be in work in our life before we can be released into that calling what are these things we quickly now and in second Peter chapter 1 and verse 10 it is wherefore the rather present give diligence to make your calling and election sure if you do these things you won't fail what things well in verse 2nd Peter 1:5 it is beside this giving diligence add to your faith virtue virtue knowledge and add to knowledge temperance temperance patience and godliness and to godliness add brotherly kindness brotherly kindness charity or love if these things be in you you will abound and you will not be barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ certain things have to be established within you virtue that's moral purity spiritual purity knowledge a knowledge of the word temperance self-control patience learning to wait godliness a godlike character kindness and love if you do these things you will never fail there needs to be a commissioning through the laying on of hands and there needs to be the prophetic word and the equipping of you through the laying on of hands but there's a time that you need before this of preparation if these things be in you today we give a feeling with the second part of the laying on of hands this is one of the foundations recorded in Hebrews chapter 6 and verse 2 it reads like this and the doctrine of baptisms and of the laying on of hands and so we dealing with guys I said the second part of laying on of hands and today we're going to deal with the importance of laying on of hands for healing a sick to impart blessing and to impart the Holy Spirit and so it's important we understand what really happens when we lay hands on someone through the laying on of hands and impartation can occur and it's important to understand this so the contact of hands and the spoken word transfer can occur between two people you know human beings have a unique ability to bless or to curse words have power and when there is a physical contact connected with those words the whole thing is strengthened have a cook chapter 3 in verse 4 tells us this his brightness was like the light he had raised flashing from his hands and there his power was hidden so it's talking about God and how that power is hidden in his hands and we are made you see we are made in the image and the likeness of God we have her mouth like god we have hands we have feet we can talk and we also have some of the spiritual qualities that God has we don't have the same level of authority obviously that God has but we have some of the qualities of God at a lower level in our lives you see the animal kingdom does not have this and we have power hidden in a handle in our mouth when the two come together there is a dynamic that comes into play and a transference can occur between the person laying on the hands and the person who is receiving this Bible tells us that we are called to let's see but how do we do that Romans chapter 12 and verse 14 says bless them which persecute you bless them and curse not 1st Peter chapter 3 and verse 9 says now rent not rendering evil for evil or railing for railing but contrariwise blessing knowing that ye are there unto cold that you should also receive or inherit a blessing you see if you want the blessings of God in your life you've got to learn to bless others that's what is its name and so through the word that we speak and through the laying on of hands it is possible to transfer a comfort a blessing or an inheritance to another person we read in Genesis chapter 48 in verse 13 it says and Joseph took them both Ephraim in his right hand towards Israel's left hand and Manasseh in his left hand towards Israel's right hand and brought them he was bringing them to Jacob and Israel Jacob stretched out his hand and laid it upon efrain's head you see there was an impartation taking place there was a conferring of a blessing and transference from one person to another in this case it was from from Jacob or Israel to his grandchildren transferring a blessing you see a spiritual inheritance can be transferred from one to another especially if that person who is transferring the blessing is about to die I'll pass on from this life and all he's about to be taken home he can confer his his inheritance or compare his mental and many of his giftings to someone else before he dies and this is done through the laying on of hands and the spoken word and so spiritual inheritance can be transferred to another person you see we have to be careful with what we transfer and what we receive most Christians don't really understand the dynamic of this whole area of the laying on of hands with the spoken word transference occurs and we are called to speak the highest good for every person whether they are friends or whether they are enemies we are called to seek the highest good for both and we must constantly bless both in Word and in deed you know a lifestyle of generosity should be second nature to us God has designed that that we we cannot receive from him unless we have the same heart as he has it's important to grasp that God is so designed it that we cannot receive from him unless we have the same heart that he has he has he is lavish in his giving to his children you see to be blessed we must bless of it the way to keep God's supply operating or happening in our lives is to constantly give away did you catch that the way to keep God's supply happening in our lives is for us to be constantly giving away you know I like the analogy of the hose pipe you cannot have water flowing out of this end and that's it flowing in the other however if you stop the flow of water at this end where the water comes out you stop the flow of water at this end coming in you just build up pressure that's all and you know if it's not flowing out of this hand it can't flow into this end this is the circle of supply if we stop the out whoa you stopped the inflow to be blessed we have to bless others in every aspect of life and a constant supply requires a constant airflow so bless and you will be blessed and we are the blessed and not to judge in Luke chapter 6 and verse 37 says judge not and you shall not be judged condemn not and you shall not be condemned forgive and you will be forgiven see you have to forgive others in order for you to have forgiveness give and it shall be given unto you good measure pressed down shaken together and running over so shall men give unto you for with the same measure that you give it shall be measured to you again now it's interesting to understand this and we need some practical guidelines for how to bless other people there are ways to touch people and bless them that is not obtrusive the shaking on of hands you know you shake someone's hand you can bless that person it doesn't have to be just the spoken word it can be a word from your heart just bless in that person silently in your heart speaking goodness to them you can have the person and bless them vocally or from your heart when you have your friend bless them you know when you put a hand on a person's shoulder either from your heart or with the spoken word you need to bless them now don't lay hands on people head you know the head is very very sensitive to spiritual influence and as a rule of thumb it is not good it's not best to lay hands on a person's head unless that person is being commissioned as we talked about in the last session you know we have to be very very careful and and keep your hands off people head touch their head touch that highly-structured shoulder but elect you it's still in a position and you have the authority for commissioning then you can lay hands on the person's head you know it's a fine line between witchcraft and godly blessing the basis of witchcraft is control of one person over another and you know you can seek to exercise that control over a person through your prayers or using words to intimidate the person you know asking God to make a person take a certain course in life or or praying in such a way that seeks to control control that person is witchcraft you can pray for God's will to be done in that person's life you can pray for God the best in that person's life you can pray for the perfect will of God to happen in that person's life but you must not think of cause to pray in a way whereby you seeking to exercise your will over their will and impose upon them what you think you can play dressings goodness of God but we have to be careful and you know in my chapter 10 verse 16 it tells us of Jesus he took children and he took them up in exams but he turned upon them and let them we are called to bless people and Bible says bless those who curse you when you bless someone who is cursed you you annul the curse you know Matthew 5:44 but I say unto you love your enemies bless them that curse you do good to those who hate you pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you that you might be the children of your father which is in heaven for he makes the Sun to rise on those who are evil and those who are good he sends rain on the just and on the unjust that's it's hard we have to have the same heart so there is conferring the blessing it's one aspect of laying on of hands another aspect is in healing the sick that says and you know you shall heal the sick matthew chop mark chapter 16 and verse 18 they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover we are all called to heal the sick we might not have a ministry of healing but we are called to pray for people and heal the sick we shall lay hands on the sick and they shall begin to recover from that point on and so we need to understand that we are called the heal the sick healing the sick is a major harvest tool it's one of the it will be one of the major aspects of the coming harvest healing of the sick we must all learn to heal the sick and I recommend that you read TL Osborn book you can attend the man your way and go to his website and get that that it you need to know and understand that it is God's heart to heal the sick and you need to understand that you see there's a transference again when you lay hands on the sick there is a transference of virtue or power and that practice from one person to the other this is often felt as a mild sensation of maybe burnin anyone's hands or tingling on one side or you might not feel anything and yet the person is healed and so we are called and you must you know take opportunities and offer to pray for people who are sick and the something goes for you for in mark chapter 5 in verse 3 a woman to the verse 30 a woman touched him and Jesus said and immediately knowing himself that virtue or power had gone out of him he turned and said who touched me see there's a transfer Curren takes place and we have to learn to heal the sick to lay hands on the sick and this is very very important the final aspect we're dealing with today is to impart the Holy Spirit I have seen hundreds and hundreds of people receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands and so there's an impartation through you of the Holy Spirit to that person through the laying on of hands not on the head just just lay hands upon them and let God do the rest pray and release the Holy Spirit to them these are important aspects of the laying on of hands you see we are called to bring a living Christ to a dying world and one of the ways we do that is through imparting to people blessing healing and putting the Holy Spirit and bringing the life to them so you need to learn and take every opportunity to pray for the sick so I want to take ask them if they you they would like you to pray for them just touch them on the shoulder and touch them on the arm and take or take their hands and pray for them believing that there will be an impartation you shall lay hands on the sick and from that moment on they shall begin to week you
