FOUND: '71'cuda + '81 Camaro!!

uh access this thing because i don't have the  do they have anything to pull that out yeah   so they could pull the trailer out and  if we had to are the cars in this trailer   yeah what one is okay yeah we we have we  have the technology to do that okay all right it's 5 27 in the morning yes it is they both beat  me here but the tas to leave out here at 5 30. so   let's get our coffee we're going to rescue one of  alex's favorite cars the entire planet yes it is   it may not be the ultimate power plant for that  car but i like it oh that's super cool they do   drive great 1971 cuda how much better to get than  that shaker hood with a four speed now it's also a   second car we're gonna rescue there that was his  wife's car an extremely nice second generation   camaro just happens to be the last year of the  second generation camaro which i know you also   like yeah because you just organized 23 of them  yes i did so you guys been asking where's alex   well it turns out the 105 car deal turned into  a 150 car deal which is now turned into what   180 yeah 180. so he's been busy but he wasn't  going to stay home for a cuda rescue yeah now   here's what we're up against today it's kind of  fun it's 26 degrees here in dallas not a big deal   these cars are kind of in the middle of nowhere  illinois which i thought we have to fly in chicago   but it turns out it's going to be better off if  we fly to st louis we're driving 120 miles in   the snow to get there did we get a jeep i hope  we have a jeep and we get a jeep every time we   need a jeep yeah uh sean's been on the road for  two days now muddling through the snow to get   there oh he's been calling me every day but he's  not there yet so the hope is again we're leaving   here it's 5 30 in the morning we're going to fly  st louis drive 120 miles of the snow which you   never know how long that's going to take but i  hope by the end of the day to have the deal done   and the car's in the trailer before it's  dark sounds like a plan but the issue is   as alex knows a lot of you guys out there know  looking into cuda takes a while yeah it does   all the tags the numbers there's a lot  on a cuda to make sure it's correct   and that will play into what we pay for it so  how correct the car is how many numbers how   much we're gonna pay for it so most of time the  deals are close to being done when we get there   i don't know how close this one is but that's  the goal so grab your cup of joe and let's go we've been completely in the middle of nowhere  driving through farmland for quite a while   and rolling up to this we're thinking well we  located two more cars literally in the middle   of nowhere that we're gonna ever find there's  no way anybody would ever find these up there   it temperature do you no sir  cold for us it's freezing freezing yeah well   that's that's warm these days we started off  the airport this morning it was one degree so   five now and you're from the dallas area yes sir  bored and raised okay i used to go down there   a lot uh lake fork beautiful lake yeah yeah  incredible bass beautiful fish so what i was   here's my problem um i i'm i'm  about this and that's how do we uh access this thing because i don't have the  do they have anything to pull that out yeah   so they could pull the trailer out and  if we had to are the cars in this trailer   yeah what one is okay yeah we we have we  have the technology to do that okay all right yes john he said he was sick here and uh does this car have any paperwork  or do you just have a title   like do you have a broadcast sheet or any of that  stuff i don't think so i got a broadcast sheet on   the other on the camaro i saw that if if it does  it's in here uh it'd be in the car yeah it would   be all right all right i'll just scroll down  we can wait till you pull it out or something   might be easier or i can open the side door or  if you don't decide where that would help okay you guys don't wear hats on your  ears no sir yeah we need to i know okay so it's four speed no  console which i really like cool   if i can see of course it does have  rally dash i wasn't expecting the louvers that's nice shaker car well let's find that it's a factory one right there in 96 okay in 96 and now let's  see is it there's a four a real four speed car d21 d21 wow that's a really good start  alex it's really it's a real cuda bs23 yep   h is uh 340. those side doors  appear to be frozen shut right now   put the bag on that looks pretty good  for the last season the number's here 282 967 okay numbers are correct  on the front four support good start all right well i  didn't know this is a trailer   i don't know what the codes are for the bumpers  but you see it's got elastomeric bumpers on it uh how about billboard there's a  is it a billboard car it's kind of it is red it looks correct that's neat okay let's look at the square this was my wife's uh car uh  her parents gave it to her   for graduation wow so she says it's new yeah okay  yeah it was new yeah brand new 81 but it's just   it's just a six cylinder oh is it really okay i  didn't know that but it's got all the original um   it's it's it's all original poster and  everything and all that stuff it's never been   messed with and to be honest with you  not been driven all together that much 72 000 miles yeah full gauges  alex full gauges tack tilt cruise   that's unusual for if it's a 600 car but  it's also a berlinetta addition to right so final gear for second generation camaro good okay so you could have got the six cylinder  i was assuming it was a 305 v8 yeah however that's pretty neat though and you  have you have the build sheet for   it too don't you yeah yeah i did it somewhere so uh yeah absolutely outside we discussed that  way up here even with the 305 they had no power   so did you say no power no power  i mean just totally anemic so that   might have been um for us this is a good  a good beautiful car to do a restaurant   okay yeah it's uh it might be wire repairs tears  clean got that there might be something in the   glove compartment too i don't know  you know let's make a schedule which is really cool yeah it's right here  i was surprised to see that you have that   that's the build sheet right there a bill cheap very cool that's cool is that a build  chief yes sir oh okay that is it   actually has a 51 for a six cylinder car  it's got a lot of options oh yeah well   i think they got our six cylinder on purpose  they didn't want power that'd be my theory   well i mean if you turn the ac on this car i'd  be surprised to make it up that hill really   i don't remember that being a problem  must have good gear in it i don't know   power series power brakes ac last year  one owner berliner it's kind of cool all right let's look at the cuda again real  quick alex just check a couple more numbers   just uh well this could be fun sean's going  to be thrilled when he pulls up the hill tag is good looks really good i think we're  okay all right i like the options so ep this   that's rally red in it yeah it is so we got  fe five rally red n96 shaker hood four speed   bucket seat rally gauges and one thing i really  really like about this car is there's no console   i really like i do not like consoles wow i just  think it looks cleaner okay just a neat look okay   black interior billboards but i didn't see  the numbers on the on the uh fender tack   of the billboards which is fine no i would  have added them too because they look great   and i think there's a couple of  things that added to the car but   yeah there might be i don't know it's pretty  uh alex has got the boat for the riley wheels   i think it's a w-21 is it yeah it is um a lot of  these cars were just steel wheels with doggies   hubcaps yeah it's cute wheels you don't see w21  yeah so it has a lot of stuff added but it's   stuff that i i like so so that like the wheels i  think the rear slats have added the wings probably   been added the painted bumpers and we'll have to  decode all of it probably what are you doing did   you you got to fix the microphone some more yeah  yes yeah yeah we'll just go through it and get it   going again and i don't know if it'll be resoled  if i'll keep it but the seven now this is one of   his favorite cars of all time oh oh i might keep  it so he's he's building a 71 challenger right now my son's got one uh no i mean he's got  a new challenger yeah is that the new   one or yeah with the helicopter on it yeah  yeah great car yeah he got the first year   he won't let me sell that either all right well  let me grab my bag and we'll do the paperwork   when sean gets here we'll figure out how to get  him in there okay you want to go somewhere warm   that's up to you sir i'm gonna go somewhere so  20 it hasn't been started since 2016 or 2017.   so we're going to put the battery charger for  a little bit give it a little juice to see if   it'll go but if not we'll just muscle around  like we always do right yeah all right well   sean should be here in about 10 minutes he's  10 minutes out so let's take the air cleaner   that off and try gets here we'll give him squirt  or something hopefully we'll start so as opposed   to the last couple times when we walked through  it had no plan yeah this should be pretty smooth how are you doing morning sean p so we left the airport it was one yeah it's  five now yeah so here's my plan i'm gonna let   you and alex walk around and y'all make a plan  and get him in the trailer so that's the plan as i just said over there i'm  not in charge so go ahead alex   so my plan is we back up to the  driveway so we can roll out the camaro   and you say we is that a you or all back  and forth so the camaro's in here yeah so   the camaro's in there roll it out or drive it  out i'll load that winch it up or drive it up   an hour try layer while you're hooking  that up and it is so cold my hair hurts   it's hard to interrupt but the cuda's in that  trailer yeah okay that's the issue he doesn't have   a truck to move it that's no issue okay no that's  not an issue we have a truck to move that so what   we need is there a jump box in there that's  that alex question i'm gonna go with no okay   we need one somebody sent me a jump box i can't  help you in the middle of nowhere well if we had   a jump box it might start by saying it's not going  to so yeah how do you think we have jumper cables   we do all right we'll let's push that out  and get it stay so sean could put the get   the trailer to it we have a jumper cable  then can't jump off the jeep we can try yeah my ears are cold it's crazy isn't it  negative one so feels like the camaro in   here you know his wife bought it new okay 181  and the cuda is a multiple award-winning car   71 you see he's actually actually showing it at  a national show or what but it's in a drill it's   stuck in that trailer it's stuck in the trailer  and he no longer has a truck he used to pull the   trailer with all right now i did not know this i  still would have come up here anyways yeah i just   assumed which is why you never see anything right  yeah it makes a lot of you and me right it was in   the garage when i looked at the pictures of it it  looked like it was a lift okay because it was in   the trailer but it's up on some ramps which made  it look like a little lift so here's the first one   in this right here good morning this is sean hi  afternoon though yeah this afternoon yes it's high so this fuel a 73. well you're the right  generation sean because you're eight years old   last year so the second two  cars were 70 all the way did you put some gas in it no   i don't think it's going to have to have  spell uh so we have starter fluid in the truck wherever well if it does start i'll say it's a lot of work   yeah but if it doesn't just be typical so you  bought this card new it was a gift oh okay so   first owner it says mine again yeah when i got it  back it went to a my mother's friend's daughter   went to medical school and drove it and then we  got it back and like it's a license plate's mine   again i love it so that it shows it was built in  california and delivered at a dealership in kansas   so did y'all deal or traded to get it to the  dealer no it wound up to the quincy dealership   buford ward and quincy okay so they probably  really need to locate right quincy spot here   it's pretty neat to buy a second generation camaro  from the original owner thank you for that sure   well i mean you took incredible care of it oh yeah  it was like yeah it's amazing it was my friend joy   that will definitely bump up  yes it will it will buff out so how many horsepower are we talking 80s this  being what a 305 it's actually a six cylinder   that's the v6 so so that's fine  that's why the fan shroud's so fitted   right so less than 200 horsepower  i think it's like i don't know i   had a whole lot of v6 ones but if  i had to guess it's 130 horsepower but what an ultimate platform  for restaurant right for sure   power steering power brakes ac tilt merlin so  it's got a lot of options and it's got attack   with a six or why i don't know but oh that's  pretty rare so how fast would it go that wasn't   a big i wouldn't have a left foot i don't know  maybe i got up to 85 once maybe 80 okay if that   that might be a push it's pretty good for v6  but it made it up the hill out here okay i never   this was never here back then okay okay that's a  lot of weight to push up hillary delivered yeah i guess the best thing to do is just go and  get i'm not supposed to be in charge but   i will be what's your interest   i say we just go ahead and get the trailer  turned around and head that way and if we   roll it down we'll put it in right there there  we go does that make sense it sounds a little bit   but i don't know you gotta drop the truck to move  the other one well i mean we can drop the truck   over here somewhere i pull up i don't know let  me process my brain a little bit it's too cold   this can't be that difficult it's cold y'all  are in charge you know when it's cold outside   your brain doesn't function properly we're just  standing here freezing somebody do something uh this is so cool you look good there alex  i know why do you think i bought one wow   almost doing it to touch it dennis now that's  a muscle car sean that is sweet i love it isn't   that cool oh yeah alex is freaking out dude  i'm freaked out 71 cudas are hard to find   especially a real one not a clone yeah i might have to put power steering on  this and do some dumpings i like it   but it's so cold i can feel it my lugs so  what did i miss about this car dennis nothing so it is a real shaker the n96 okay  it is a real four speed with the d21   right there okay and it is a real cuda vs23  and then to make sure it hadn't been clipped   in the front you've got your event number  here on your core sport then you've got   your vin number up here sean okay on the  cow original dash van with rosette rivets   uh man look at that that sticker made my eyes go  a little licky that's what it's supposed to do   wow that's cool it's like like it's shaking  yeah shaking bacon wow so it is fe 5 red uh   i think it's had quite a few options added to  it yeah i don't know every one of these codes   alex is supposed to but you know he was that kid  that didn't finish all his sras in school you   know that little sheet you're supposed to do how  do you think i made it to that point but anyway the chin spoilers the rear spoiler maybe  maybe not factory color key bumpers they   had it maybe or maybe not we just got the look  uh we didn't see the w21 code for the wheels   so those are rally wheels which look great but it  was probably a stainless steel wheel car all right   but what i was saying earlier before you  got here my favorite thing on this car   is it does not have a console really i love  four speed cars without a console it just   looks cleaner what do they call these vents again  that's what those are gills gills so you know you   have barracuda as a fish okay but at cuda where  the gills out of the barracuda fish okay so but   the set only the 71's had that and then it's  got rally gauges in it which is awesome so   real gauges with attack you see how clean that  four speed is without the console yes i like it it's a good fight i mean i don't know  how many 71 coupes i've had that's not a lot   yeah that we haven't bought one since  you and i've been working together no   we bought some challengers well  in the past 70 years i am amazed see the driving lights too yep those are awesome  there's just not a better looking muscle car than   a 71 cuda there's no it's completely iconic  as far as a muscle that just bleeds cool so now that we got out of the trailer had a few  minutes to look at it what's the update alex   so this car actually came with a01 which is the  light package these driver lights are amazing   it also came with it is the  a45 code which is the spoiler   and then it has an a62 which would be the lures  that's crazy rare a62 is to have louvers on here   so the spoiler package is the rear one and the  front chins incredible very nicely option cuda   so if you've got one of these sitting at home  that you bought brand new that's got a hemi in it   get a hold of social with cbg.com you got a  picture when you got the car new no wrinkles   awesome the laugh lines no wrinkles damn it and  then the second car we're rescuing today which   you guys have seen in the garage already one owner  from new 1981 berlin camaro not a bad day huh yeah   all right alex ready trying to start it  absolutely tell me when you're ready barn level so so oh ready to go this has been 11 years which is what is the  coup was 10 11 years too yeah the fact that that   thing started drove in here is i'm outstanding  that's about to say if you like a better word two look great cars i know y'all tired  of hearing this but it's cold out here really cold you gotta love it when a plan comes together  we got a great team we made it look easy but   this actually was relatively easy compared to  what we normally do except for it's crazy cold   it's a good thing zach has a  gimbal because he's shaking now we're going to go inside and find out what  the best local restaurant is and find the water   tower we have one last question okay best local  place to eat what's your favorite place hey what   what's our favorite place to eat i don't know  there's only there's not that italian favorite   local place whatever that is tiramisu it's an  italian place downtown um or if you want to go   really mom and pop like we like lollipop okay  well then this is like it's called made right   right it's been around for probably 60 years okay  it's an icon you're not even allowed to tip there   what it's got signs up no tipping well  then all of your tips see what happens   it's uh right out of the late 60s or 70s  well i want to thank you guys for having us   such great caretakers of those two cars pizza burger you don't have to wait   it's a beef patty okay that has mozzarella cheese  in this breading okay that it has like some spices pizza good okay i will get the cheese right what  would you like on yours just me and cheese   and a large fry and a large  drink you have to tell me what dr you don't want me to tell you because i drink  water did i upgrade it to a super cheese right   okay me too okay okay oh that's on a four and a half inch bun oh we  gotta have one i'll change mine to that sorry   we're gonna move mine mega  cheese we're going to the baby   okay wow that's what's awesome about  travis i prefer her homemade burger   i guess it's made right sandwich that's actually  the name of the place and that's what it is so   it's like a local favorite i mean the guy we  just got the cuda from said this is the best food   and you said pizza burger i've never heard of that  pizza burger it's a northern thing because you're   from minnesota minnesota don't you know oh yeah  this is gonna be good i love the background the   way the kitchen looked back there it's like  an old 1920s driving kind of dry bug diner really good tastes like a chicken fried steak  but this is awesome i could eat three of these all right gentlemen another great day to  be alive we'll see you in a few minutes   that was definitely worth the stop wasn't  it that was that's my kind of home cooking   after a long day of uh watching you guys work hard but we learned why it's called made right and  it's spelled weird yeah that's the name of   their sandwich so it's kind of like their local  thing sloppy joe burger kind of looking thing   really good absolutely everything is good so if  you're coming through quincy it's worth a stop   okay it's about 10 20 10 30 at night  right now we're in springfield missouri   sean and alex beat us here to the hotel end of  the restaurant we're not going to make it back   to dallas tonight we're already i don't know  17 hours into the run is that good math 5 to 5   12 yep 17 hours into the run obviously i'm a  little tired as well but now guess what zach gets   to edit this episode tonight because it's gonna  be up tomorrow by noon hope
