FortiGate Firewall policy route : The ultimate configuration guide

[Music] foreign series let's get started today's topic is policy route for the policy route you need to remember one thing so from inside outside what will happen first obviously it's policy route then the other routing protocols like static are Dynamic which we are configured so let's get started and configure this in the firewall and we'll see how it works log into the firewall go to monitor routing monitor these are the two ASP switches configured currently the 103 stands with the first routing protocol as per the distance and priority value let's go ahead and check it in the system whether we are getting the same IP from the ISP yeah we're getting that let's go ahead and check what is the IP address of the local machine ipconfig [Music] my IP address will be 97.1.6 let's go ahead and configure this in the firewall and this is a public IP address which I'm getting go to network policy route [Music] click on create new the incoming interface will be the Lan interface that is here as internal and the source address will be the one the local machine which we have seen earlier so I already created address object for that the IP will be 97.1.6 let's add it here and check it in the system yeah that is the one and the destination address will be all this for the internet so I'm choosing as all and the gateway address will be the secondary SP which I'm going to use only for the system so I'm going to add the Gateway I have added and the action will be forward traffic click on OK it has been created let's go ahead and check it in the system oh I missed one part like this is the primary ISP Gateway so I'm changing it into the secondary ISP Gateway I'm clicking on OK let's go ahead and check it in the incognito window my AP it's still the same the old ISP I forgot to tell you we need to choose the outgoing interface as well so this is the second ASP outgoing interface and it's Gateway click on OK now again go ahead and check it out it's still the same let's try with the incognito window one more time foreign let's go ahead and check it in the firewall go to the routing monitor here you can see this is the secondary sp2.2 so that's that's that system is taking the 202 because of the policy routing thank you [Music] foreign [Music]
