I really enjoy this series from Wired especially the one on accents.
The casual story about the guy killing himself with the suicide pill. This lady has seen some shit.
It's nice to see that she does like these movies, despite their inaccuracies. I know a lot of people that get jaded about movies and TV shows bending the rules like this when it's only really done to make the product more entertaining.
I had no idea that spies are not allowed to pretend to be a religious figure, media member or peace corp.
That said, I'm sure that rule has been broken at some point.
Blew my mind that she's married to Tony Mendez. I read his biography last year. Its incredible. Hes got a bunch of cool stories besides the Argo story. He mentioned his wifΓ© a lot, but I never put it together until she said.
Also, glad she like The Americans. Such an awesome spy series. I loved all the wigs they'd use.
I like how she refused to say octopussy and just called it James Bond instead
The editor on this segment is fantastic, not only are the jump cuts from the interview flow seamlessly on a narrative level but the interstitial jabs from the movie between those cuts add another layer of humor. Greatest entry to this series!
The last part makes believe even more that the novel Red Sparrow was full of made up shit.
I'm surprised the CIA is ok with her doing this. Don't they still use all these techniques?
