it's a breezy Autumn afternoon in the mid2 microtransactions were about to consume the video game industry dubstep was on its deathbed Call of Duty decided to add jetpacks some lady named Lisa was freaking everyone out in PT and the PS4 and Xbox One was considered next gen you had just recently graduated high school and now are burdened with the Beyond inconvenient life of adulthood no more staying up until 3:00 a.m. gaming with the boys or asking your parents for $60 for this super realistic game called Watchdogs you were an adult now and if you wanted a new game you had to wake up at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday drive to your job and clock in for the next eight miserable hours to make hardly any money at all between your part-time job in college you virtually had no time to play video games but all that did was make the time you did have even that much more precious disclaimer disclaimer although the system has graced us with its presence for over a decade the following games might not be forgotten by their devoted communities but in some cases forgotten by the people who created them however they are games that were either overlooked underplayed or just plain ignored if you go play some [Music] games first up to bat is a Dinger of a game that takes us to a mystical realm of gravity manipulation and none other than the underrated Masterpiece Gravity Rush now if you missed this one back in the day you not alone originally released on the vaita the physical PS4 version was an Amazon exclusive # random developed by Japan studio and directed by this guy The Mastermind behind silent heel this game Blends a unique art style gravity defying mechanics and a protagonist with the cat sidick yep a cat sidekick it's like the Dream Team you never knew you needed you play as cat no not not the cat the girl's name is cat and she's a gravity shape-shifting hardcore butt kicker with a knack for floating around like it's nobody's business and did I mention the cat sidekick Dusty forget pew pew sticks this girl's got a cat okay I'm done with the cat there's also a movie worthy sound track in this game it's beautiful relaxing and reminds you of that long lost feeling you had as a kid happiness you genuinely feel happy as you fall around the city listening to the music and there is a reason the soundtrack cost 1199 on the PSN store now as far as the game play unique is the best way to describe it Gravity Rush takes the laws of physics and tosses them out the window like your ability to care and gives them a swift kick into the stratosphere cat can manipulate gravity meaning she can soore through the air run up buildings and change the direction of her personal pool it's like a superhero parkour ballet and it's as awesome as it sounds the combat is your standard third person hacking slash action game but with a Twist if the enemies are getting on your nerves just float into the air where they can't touch you then kick them in the face when they least expect it takes a minute to get used to but once you get the hang of it you'll enjoy it I promise Gravity Rush really deserves a spot in your gaming Hall of Fame with its gravity mechanics Charming protagonist and a cat side kit cool of the most human characters it's a journey worth visiting if you missed this one well now is the time to dive into the skies and experience the charm of a game that defies both gravity and expectations and next is Terminator resistance this is a hidden gym in the PS4 library that deserves more attention than a T800 and a leather jacket released during a time when everyone was probably busy battling otherworldly [ __ ] or exploring open world Landscapes Terminator resistance quietly held its own in the shadow the game is set in The Terminator Universe post Judgment Day where Humanity survival is on the line you play as Jacob Rivers a soldier caught in the crossfire between skynet's Relentless killing machines and the dwindling resistance it feels like being stuck in a Sci-Fi Action Movie where you're the star and there's no CGI budget restrictions the game gives off heavy Fallout Vibes so if you're into abandoned cities looting and German Shepherds well you sure are in for a rooting tooting good time now the game play Terminator resistance is a first-person shooter that captures the intensity of surviving Against the Machines it can be quite difficult at times which I'm sure is accurate and your player's movement feels a tad tanky but that's all part of the charm it's not just about explosions and Firepower it's about strategy stealth Scavenging and making choices that impact the storyline survival is the name of the game here so resources are scarce and every bullet counts whether you're facing off against the Relentless t800s or outsmarting spiderbots you'll need your wits about you you're essentially playing a game of hide and seek but instead of your annoying cousin it's a murderous robot from the future and do you like a good story because Terminator resistance weaves a narrative that expands the Terminator lore and if you're a fan of the franchise you'll appreciate the Deep dives into skynet's Sinister plans you're basically peeling back the metallic layers of a Terminator to reveal the secrets within Terminator resistance the underappreciated warrior in the PS4 Library that's been quietly resisting obscurity with its intense gameplay survival elements and a storyline that'll make you question your toaster loyalty it's a gym worth visiting just ignore the critics and pay attention to the user reviews and if you miss this one it's time to Gear Up embrace your inner resistance fighter and show Skynet who's ball and up next mutant Football League or MFL if you're just looking at this game like a Madden knockoff you'd be completely wrong this is more of a Madden parody remember back in the day before the NFL turned into the no fun League when we had games like Blitz NFL Street well this game is bringing those games back and what sets it apart from all the other sports games is the fact that you're playing football in a world where players can literally lose their heads during the game no really Heads Will Roll players can step on landmines they can get eaten by giant worms or sawed in half and when they do they're dead and gone this game really does a fantastic job of embracing the absurdity and it makes every match unique they've also Incorporated things like dirty plays late hits there's a chainsaw you can run around and use to level the playing field you can even get penalized for manslaughter and if you don't like the ref's call just bribe them want to bring back a big play or a touchdown just slip the ref a little cash and Bam that 70-yard touchdown pass is now a 15 yd penalty for a deflated football and if you're on the other side of the ball and you keep getting your touchdowns taken away you can Rush the referees and kill them so a new ref will come out that has not been bribed yet there's even a miname at halftime where you run around and shoot the refs with a shotgun it's beyond insane but here's the real kicker unlike that Dusty old Sports trophy on your shelf mutant football league is still getting updates the developers are tending to this game like professional gardeners they're keeping the rosters fresh injecting new life into a game with players like hatrick mahomies ravage belyy whan hers Nick chubby lustin kills and JC Stout not only do the developers constantly update the game but they also created teams that are a parody of the NFL with names like the leveland burns New Orleans zombies nuked London hatriot scar Lina panzers blitzburgh still heads and the Dead Land of vultures that last one is actually pretty active but they crafted an experience that's as wild as a touchdown celebration on the moon so if you enjoyed the old days with gamep playay that's reminiscent of NFL Blitz you enjoy a genuine laugh and most importantly have a blast while playing a game go buy this game now you'll absolutely love it and next we're diving into a game that's been tucked away like that one sock you can never find transistor but trust me this one's not lost it's just patiently waiting for you discover its awesomeness you play as red a singer who lost her voice and now she's armed with a transistor a weapon that's not only a Powerhouse but also your witty talking companion think Lollipop Chainsaw but instead of your Lover's head just dangling on your waist he's in your sword the game incorporates the use of your PlayStation 4 controller speaker so that when the sword speaks to you it's coming from the controller in your hands rather than just through the TV and honestly that sounds kind of annoying but it really immerses you in the game once you get going it'll make you feel as though you have a Shakespearean actor trapped in your hands and trust me the banter between red and the transistor is gold you never knew you needed gamep playwise it doesn't just hand you the sword and say go crazy it's a tactical experience blending realtime action with strategic planning every move is a calculated note in a digital Symphony and mastering the art of combat feels like you're conducting your own Orchestra of Destruction the story oh the story transistor weaves a narrative tapestry that's part cyberpunk part mystery and wholly captivating Red's Journey Through the futuristic city of cloudbank is layered with Intrigue an unexpected twist that's more mind-bending than you trying to explain a Christopher Nolan film to your illiterate uncle and if you haven't already noticed this game's visual Feast of art style is a marriage with sci-fi and Art Deco creating a mesmerizing world that fills both retro and Cutting Edge it seems as though they used watercolor palette neon signs and threw in a cyberpunk aesthetic it's a neon soaked graphic novel where each frame could be a standalone work of digital art also the soundtrack is one of the best in video games I'd rank it up there with Oblivion Hotline Miami and Medal of Honor and all of these other great video game soundtracks it smacks pretty hard hard just [Music] [Music] listen now why is transistor a forgotten gym maybe it's because it's the quiet genius at the back of the class not yelling for attention but performing jaw-dropping moves on the dance floor when youd least expected perhaps it got overshadowed by louder titles or maybe it's subtlety was its downfall but here's the thing it's a gym because of its complete package studying visuals engaging gameplay and a story that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll and finally dust off your leather jackets and rev up those engines because we're heading into a post-apocalyptic Madness that is Mad Max now I know what you are thinking Mad Max wasn't that a movie well yes it was my educated viewer but it's also a video game and a very fantastic one at that this game was unfortunately not set up for Success released on the same day as a much smaller title Metal Gear Solid 5 Mr Max was severely overshadowed by his same day release buddy if this game were a person it would be that one really cool friend who is fantastic at parties but eventually gets lost in the crowd and you never see him again then you wonder to yourself where did he go he was so cool and so fun and before you know it he's lost in a sea of all the other game titles so sad anyway our protagonist Max this guy has more grunts than a caveman trying to explain how cell phones work he might as well be the Clint Eastwood of the apocalypse and at grumbling was an Olympic sport he take home the gold medal every time and although Max is great the real star of the show is the Magnum Opus it's not just a car it's a vehicular fashion statement think Pimp My Ride but in a world where leather and Rusty spikes are the new golden Chrome there's also car combat which is honestly a dying art in video games nowadays just think demolition derby on steroids now I'm not saying the car combat is the only reason to play Mad Max but it is the juicy steak on a plate of gaming appetizers it's like they took all the best bits of every car chase movie ever made rub some of that Savory postapocalyptic Spice on it and served it up with a side of explosive awesomeness the game isn't just about looking cool either it's about surviving in a world where every other guy wants to bash your head in for a can of dog food literally your health is regenerated from things like eating cans of dog food or having a feast Fest on the maggots of a rotten human corpse man that sounds so much worse when you say it out loud the combat system is beyond satisfying it's your own personal therapy session where you get to unleash all your builtup aggression on Raiders and bandits very similar to the Arkham series but with more killing and less Knockouts Max is an absolute unit I mean just look at this guy trust me smashing heads and breaking necks in this game is therapeutic in an odd and slightly disturbing kind of way so if you love fast cars vehicle destruction and smashing faces in massive open world post-apocalyptic worlds then this game is for you my friends and as this video comes to a close take a moment to appreciate the gems that made your gaming Hearts skip a
