it's about time we looked at this one the Xbox 360 as a teenager was the gaming console to have apparently if you were anyone you were playing Halo 3 multiplayer online and overhearing all sorts of awful conversation from everyone and their grandmother or this guy so yeah you're gay sure they might have ruined everything by charging for the service when you had steam for free but the 360 was home to some of the biggest and best the 7th generation video games we'd seen up until that point however there's even more titles that have fallen by the wayside forgotten obscure games and some that may not ring a bell at all also the connect so yo it's Austin and do you know what your first Xbox 360 game was since nearly 20 years old now which is awful but mine was Naruto rise of a Ninja and I loved every second of it but before we get started thanks to Opera GX for sponsoring this video it's time to make a change Opera GX is an internet browser designed for gamers and it's actually one I use quite a bit like actually why well because it was made specific quickly with gamers in mind I mean for starters it's way less resource heavy than other browsers with the built-in GX control feature you can limit the amount of CPU and RAM this thing uses so you can get Max performance and that's performance you can customize with GX mod you're able to turn your standard internet surfing experience into something a bit more to your liking GX boy is a neat one that may remind you of your childhood but there's so many neat Community made ones to pick from some of them even have neat sound effects also for fans of all things gaming whenever you boot this thing up you're greeted with the GX corner it's got the latest and upcoming releases GX games news and little relevant articles to pick through it's an easy way to keep yourself up to date kind of like having a Retro Gaming magazine back in the day and if you download this thing using my link in the description you're gonna get a little bonus it'll make it to the latest 12 videos I've uploaded appear on your dashboard and so you'll be greeted with Moi and you can stay up to date with my most recent descent into madness so yeah I like Opera GX I use it all the time and that's a shoot brother click my link down in the description to download it today thanks to Opera GX for sponsoring this video but for now it's time to go back into the past filled with red rings laser disc burns the slowest Wi-Fi you've ever used and uh where was I oh yeah the connect maybe not the connect you ever wonder what the bottom of an avatar shoe looks like well bam There It Is Well I may not be gyrating in front of a camera today there are plenty of things that I think we're totally buried during those years for every Elder Scrolls Skyrim causing a massive cultural impact you'd have a 99 nights and its sequel known mostly for the Konami press conference troops wow and well maybe it deserves a bit better I said maybe I don't know yet we'll get there but I do know that if you ever decide you want to see a snippet of yourself 15 or 18 years ago boot up that old download history and take a walk through Memory Lane you just might not like what you see the 360 feels like it just came out yesterday but unfortunately that is not the case I think we ought to get this thing started with some of the earliest releases on the system generally when a brand new console launches the launch titles can go one of two ways they're either massive system sellers or uh not not even close for instance you have Call of Duty 2 selling several million and becoming one of the highest attached rates for any console ever and then you have Cameo elements of power a title that despite being re-released still no one seems to talk about the first two years of the 360 were chocked full with things good and bad the outfit lets you run around with a mini Army blowing things up with a cool guy named Deuce this thing's pretty fun online you had full auto letting you blow things up with a cool car with guns on it then you had tin choose e blowing the critical reception I'm so beautiful but it seems like no matter where I go I can't find anyone who's played Cameo elements of power so I'm gonna do it myself if you look up a list of the highest selling Xbox 360 games out there Cameo is nowhere to be seen and you'd think that would have been developed by rareware a company that had crazy Prestige at the time would give it a good bit of a boost it looks like everyone went with Joanna dark this time around which makes total sense because when you think about the Xbox Xbox Live and the people who probably bought that thing Cameo is a total anomaly this was originally gonna release on the Nintendo 64 but got pushed back nearly a decade to this Beast so expectations were definitely there visually it looked good unique and it was doing something a little different rather than being your typical rare wear Donkey Kong collect-a-thon Cameo was more focused on the combat you play as the elf fairy uh Cameo and she has the ability to transform into a different Elemental beasts in order to get things done the first few minutes of gameplay and the intro stage are pretty fun you're doing weird platforming beating up Orcs and figuring out how all the mechanics go together but it very quickly becomes generic once you get Metroid it and have all of your powers literally smacked at Ya movement in combat becomes limited but the battle arenas don't stop coming nothing of substance comes out of combat besides just participating in it so it has that PS2 energy of feeling like a Time waster which I guess makes sense considering this one was in development hell on older consoles I mean it's even got a point tally on the top I don't think Cameo is bad by any means but I do think it's got one of the most bizarre control schemes out there your face button swept between whatever beasts you have said and all of the actions are on the triggers there's several buttons that should be used instead but no we're dark soulsing it I guess overall things unfold in a very uninspiring manner with characters lacking strong personalities which is very unlike rareware previously considering I played it for a few hour hours and felt like I was done I think we could safely understand why time's been forgetting about Cameo I will say playing this backwards compatible on a series X where it runs like butter definitely makes things a bit better talk Fuji or not I'm gonna get my 1 million troops both Cameo and to an even bigger extent grabbed by the Ghoulies feel like games that are just kinda there but this isn't about that so we'll be moving on to the next thing if you owned an Xbox 360 you also most likely had Xbox Live Gold in order to play online with it but that wasn't just a way to play games it was also a digital store platform and once this thing started popping off we would start seeing a ton of games some memorable and others not so much Xbox Live arcade may not be around in its original form anymore but I remember browsing this thing all the time originally launching on the original Xbox it was a way for Microsoft and whatever publisher to release little micro titles and Classics for prices way under anything you'd see at retail but it's when they relaunched it on the Xbox 360 that things went in a better Direction with your original belated interface 360. if you have the hard drive it'd come with hexic HD and a promise for more titles to fill up that sweet sweet 320 gigabytes this eventually turned into the summer of arcade that gave us tons of Classics like Castle Crashers Monday night combat Bastion and brothers A Tale of Two Sons though I think everyone's trying to forget about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD altogether there were a total of 612 different games released on the platform which for comparison's sake is actually close to the total amount of Wii U releases no meme run here but there are bound to be a lot of exclusives that have gone by the wayside even more when you look at their Xbox Live Indie Games label this one's totally shut down now but I still got my copier protect me night the you never guess considering the 360 page wasn't in English this is technically a delisted title since Indies aren't around anymore but it's a very simple four-player Co-op tower defense game done by ancient which Yes means it's got a bang and soundtrack by yuzo koshiro from Streets of Rage Fame in 2010 when this released there weren't many things coming out trying to replicate that old NES look so seeing this randomly on the store was a treat it's simple it's cute it's violent it's got incredibly shredded shirtless ninjas not much to say here but it's actually got two sequels gotta protectors and card of Darkness on the 3DS and switch so it's just one of those funny things Xbox Live arcade had an interesting Evolution because Microsoft wouldn't imposed a bunch of limitations specifically file sizes with it starting at a measly 50 megabytes this got raised over time but some of the things you'd see coming out with these limitations were less than Stellar such as the case with Arcadian Warriors do you like dungeon crawling how about Diablo would you like to use mostly a single button well then Arcadian Warriors might be for you I think it's neat that this could be played online as there weren't many online console RPGs out there but this thing was extremely Bare Bones and stiff to control I mean yeah you can hit dudes and transform into a giant monster but that's about it though back then it was hard to complain when you were just spending five dollars that is unless you want to spend zero dollars and love playing an advertisement prior to free to play games you had Doritos dash of Destruction the easiest 200 gamer score you'll ever get in your life not much to say here except dinosaurs robot dinosaurs those things are cool however the developer of that Doritos game was a little group called ninja bee part of Wahoo games they would release a ton of things on Xbox live like several releases a year cloning Clyde Outpost koloki a strategy RPG called band of bugs Final Fantasy Tactics eat your heart out I'm I'm just not gonna ask around three years after the console's original release they would unveil a brand new update to the system called the next Xbox experience or the nxe Microsoft completely changed the entire console's UI also tried to hide the red ring but more importantly introduce their Nintendo ripoff equivalent come on you know it's true the Xbox 360 Avatar these things were like kinda cute I guess a little less when you find out they were all designed by rareware who deserved way more but still Microsoft wanted launch titles not just for the nxe but also the newly able avatar game integration after all there'd be no point in making one of these things if I couldn't literally blow it to Smithereens in Bomberman live this brings us to one of the strangest things Microsoft ever published a kingdom for Keflings there's really not much to explain here besides whatever a kefling is which is a tiny little dude you play as your avatar and you're just well building a kingdom it's like the most distilled and simple version of black and white that's ever existed you hit wood to make logs to make buildings and eventually you make the little guys do the stuff for you you slowly create an ecosystem build out bigger and more complicated buildings and watch the numbers go up you get the gist but you can play as yourself and that's the selling point it was enough to Garner over six hundred thousand in sales and get some sequels so I guess they did okay for themselves there was also a world of Keflings that came out even Sony got their own nearly identical version of this called akimi Village apparently there was demand for this basic connect the dot style city building and resource management and for ten dollars I can see why this did okay Microsoft has totally abandoned the IP and ninja B doesn't seem to be around anymore so this is one of those you had to be there kind of things when you didn't have that much to pick from early digital stores on consoles were a time also the music sounds like it was taken directly from the royalty-free stock vault speaking of abandoned IPS Fable and I'm just kidding kinda I actually love fables one two and three because I'm a freak but there's also a few releases that some might not know about and no I'm not talking about the connect game which well we'll talk about the connect one day I'm talking about Fable Heroes what is Fable Heroes you're probably thinking well it turns out there's nearly as many spin-offs in Xbox Live arcade Fable releases as there are Mainline Fable 2 Pub games to be able to Journey Fable fortune and Fable Heroes Heroes is an interesting one it was a small pitch that was essentially what if we make a family-friendly beat em up in the Fable world no one to call you a chicken shisha just a fun light-hearted time where you haphazardly murder thousands as they turn in the coin fantastic evil Heroes does a strange thing or even if you're playing single player you've got four people on the screen at all times that's because it's a weird hybrid of beat em up and Mario Party it'll suddenly change into a PVP mini game where you're competing to do whatever task the best before throwing you onto a Monopoly board that you you use to upgrade your characters at random you get more dice moves depending on your overall coin collection and there's just a lot going on in this that doesn't make much sense it was also working alongside fable the Journey as a method to gain experience points Fable Heroes was part of this weird time where I personally feel like Microsoft and lionhead had no idea what they wanted to do with their hot IP unfortunately the reviews speak for themselves it's an incredibly middle of the road experience the performance on the original 360 ranges from meh to abysmal and it's really hard to tell what's going on on the screen and honestly if you wanted to play a good beat em up on the same console you had a ridiculous amount of fantastic ports and original options to pick from Scott Pilgrim Vs the World Double Dragon Neon Castle Crashers heck X-Men the arcade game Fable Heroes launched in 2012 so it's really a case of way too little too late anyways we gotta move on so rest in peace Fable Legends I was actually really looking forward to that one day we're gonna get a proper able sequel but for now I'll just have to cherish the PNG of the logo like a Metroid Prime 4 fan but hey speaking of sequels it wouldn't be video games unless we tried to milk successful franchises for all the dollar Renos that we can muster it doesn't matter if it's good just shove it out good on capitalism I for one know that in the year 2008 everyone was craving a new Frogger Frogger too I mean technically this should be like Frogger 24 but somehow Konami just up and released a game simply titled Frogger 2 on the Xbox Live arcade store and this thing was clearly what everyone was wanting Look it's even got a gripping narrative with Dynamic confirmation sound effects sure why but despite having the Allure of a fun and friendly kids game this one is freaking mean almost right out of the gate they decide to go hog wild with the platforming segments it's also as you heard an audio nightmare from start to finish even just moving around fills your ears with noises that we shouldn't have to hear that frequently please stop I'm not sure what Konami was thinking with this one also why is the gameplay in standard definition y'all ever play Fusion Frenzy 2 the hot sequel to Bill Gates favorite game except made by a completely different developer and worse in every single way I feel like the only decent minigame in this thing was the rollerball one which is essentially ripped straight from Mario party so just go play Mario Party actually don't do that either you could instead use that spare time to play Kingdom Under Fire circle of Doom this isn't technically a sequel so much as a spin-off but back in the day I loved that cover the Kingdom Under Fire series are a Korean made well thing that I'm not sure I totally understand it started off as an RTS on the PC that had a cult following before then having tons of spin-offs and sequels come out but never the proper two in fact it would be a full 18 years between the original and Kingdom Under Fire 2 which is now shut down because it was an MMO circle of Doom was this Co-op action hack and slash that I played a lot I remember liking this as a teenager and having a fun time for a little bit but we've all been wrong before the combo depth is barely there it's like Fantasy Star online levels of interesting which works in 2000 not in 2007 when we've got Devil May Cry 3 playable for multiple years I think there's some really neat ideas here but it all falls apart at the seams with its own repetitiveness seriously you'll spend so much time going through identical looking forests that by the time you get to the first boss you've basically mastered The Limited controls I think circle of Doom could have been a killer app for the 360 but it definitely is not kinda like our next game in the mid-2000s I feel like a lot of Publishers and developers were willing to try anything in order to take their franchises into the third dimension different genres different perspectives rebooting golden ax making it terrible Gamers had wild expectations for what some of these franchises were gonna do especially if they came from the fighting genre if you know you know Guilty Gear 2 Overture Guilty Gear 2 Overture is not a fighting game it didn't even use Sprites which the series was famous for at the time Overture is what happened when you combine Dynasty Warriors with DOTA in a pinball machine it's also not a spin-off it's literally called Guilty Gear 2 and is allegedly all part of the Canon this was part of that absurd era of this franchise where designer Daisuke ishiwatari wanted to Branch out of traditional Fighters a bit so you run around fighting people in Lanes exactly like an average MOBA but you also summon dudes with points you get for knocking out minions and damaging Heroes these summons get stronger and more expensive over time to help you take out bases way faster the problem is this game is freaking hard you also have to learn how to navigate menus that are hard to read the combat is also extremely Jank it tried to use some interesting directional inputs but has what feels like a similar depth to a muso title which I love but it really fails the Guilty Gear name however Overture was the first in the series to have English voice acting let's check it out I cleaned up the mess damn that was like crazy you're just what I thought hey why am I still bad do you know me or something thing hmm I see I think this one's disappointing because it was actually trying to do something really unique but the controls and concepts are so high and weird that it's difficult for your average player to understand on top of that actual one-on-one combat feels super stiff and very unlike one of the smoothest fighting franchises of all time I guess the one big Hook was that it was playable online and I believe it still is with the steam port and it seems like there's still one or two groups still going at it to this day godspeed or Heaven or Hell let's rock Overture wouldn't be the only Japanese exclusive Xbox 360 title to come out actually far from it you generally don't think about Japanese developers and like RPGs being closely associated with Microsoft's red ring and machine but there were actually a lot of exclusives it just didn't help that a lot of these games didn't come Stateside because American Xbox Gamers just wanted to play like Halo Call of Duty and uh that's it Microsoft has always had trouble with the Japanese market and I'm not really sure why I guess part of it is the fact that they were going more portable at the time but some of those Xbox 360 sales figures in Japan are straight up depressing allegedly 2.3 million Xboxes sold like every Xbox put together yeah that ain't great but it's a shame because of how many cool exclusives they were getting I remember when Microsoft was starting to team up with various Publishers across the ocean and things felt almost uncanny I will never forget the outrage that happened when Final Fantasy 13 was announced for the 360. that was a wild time I think the most obvious and not forgotten of the bunch are missed Walker's blue dragon and Lost Odyssey two enormous jrpgs brought to you by some of the original creators of Final Fantasy sakaguchi's the bomb lost a lot of sees my can in Final Fantasy 13 and no one can change my mind if you're into strategy RPGs you've got operation darkness and spectral Force 3 the former being one where you fight Nazis both published by Atlas and both of them not great but having this type of variety on a console lacking it is good otherwise we're still just playing band of bugs dirty otaku had Auto medius excellent a spiritual successor to gradius where all the ships are anime girls anime girls with lots of assets I started recording this while I was in the background of my girlfriend during a meeting and uh I'm so sorry there's also 99 nights and it's sequel 99 Knights 2 which is bad grammar these are essentially glorified Dynasty Warriors clones with a melodramatic narrative that we're closer to Tech demos than anything else even if the sequel runs very poorly I'm not so sure about 1 million but there are a lot of dudes on the screen I think I would actually kind of like these if there were more colors on the screen but you're mostly staring off into the void of 7th gen Grays and Browns also some of these levels here were designed by masochists why are all these dudes just standing in a line were they just waiting how long have they been here more traditional RPG fans had Eternal Sonata Resonance of Fate enchanted Arms and you know it Square enix's Seminole classic infinite undiscovery I hope you're hungry you're not triplets but look we're not talking about dinner or food or that game that infuriated me as a teenager I want to talk about project silfeed this thing pulled me in really hard look if you want to grab my attention you just gotta combine in space and Anime this thing felt like it came out of nowhere when you think squeaks should probably think of Final Fantasy Dragon Quest classic jrpgs and battle in Wonder World but you probably don't think of Space Ace Combat project silvied Arc of deception is proud of what it is its anime is all hell and Embraces it with the back of the box saying by the makers of Kingdom Hearts which was almost shocking to see in 2007 when this came out interplanetary War tests the limits of friendship yeah you know what we're getting into technically developed by game Arts the people behind my forever love Grandeur project sulfate is actually a spiritual successor to their previous release silfeed you play as not to Star Ocean protagonist Katana far away yeah no that's real it's your standard space drama with High personalities and kids running military institutions relationships crumbling and millions of people being exploded into the vacuum of space the story you can take it or leave it the interesting thing is everything else for example it kind of Sophie went really hard into the Ace Combat style of plain video game a niche that was already deep down in the sweaty Zone it actually feels really good the problem is that it is extremely repetitive and the overall Loop is so paint by the numbers that individual stages lose all significance levels are broken up by cut scenes and there's a lot of them it's okay Brandon you'll do better next time but the problem with being a plane shooter exclusively in space is that it all feels samey it's also hard to take some of these cutscenes seriously when you're sitting here watching a bunch of anime youths mourning a character named Brandon Brandon Shore he was a kind young man who was loved by all who knew him project selfie does a game with a lot of potential of banging soundtrack and some really neat flight combat it just Falls a little short due to the lack of variety in both the missions and Aesthetics even so if only for the fact that it's anime sci-fi I've got a soft spot for it though switch the IP to Outlaw Star and we'll be cooking these days the amount of XBox exclusive Japanese titles is way less almost non-existent but you do find yourself something like a Hi-Fi Rush from time to time and that one was pretty good which brings us to our next topic licensed games I don't know why but there are multiple Xbox Live arcade exclusive licensed games and uh none of them are good these things were dime a dozen in the 2000s but only Microsoft had SpongeBob SquarePants Underpants Slam and I think we probably know why there was a period of time where you couldn't go more than 10 feet without stepping in a brand new SpongeBob SquarePants video game and Underpants Slam might be a strong argument against video games as an art form it's an incredibly simple game you pick a character you run around grabbing underwear and once you hit 99 you win literally back to the main menu in less than five minutes that's the whole game the timer increases each time you grab one and I think sometimes they can glitch out of existence causing you to be unable to finish very good this is really a nothing game one that I paid nine dollars for but at the very least it has voice acting oh it's fun hey by the way this never stops how about Pacific Rim the video game made by ukes the people behind countless WWE games and Rumble roses baby in these early Digital Store days you'd see something like this pop up out of nowhere and typically it wasn't very good I mean there's a novelty for punching giant Kaiju and robots and big Arenas or big batches of water but it's incredibly limited and lacks depth this one's been delisted so you can't acquire it by normal means anymore but there's such a middling amount of content here that it's not really worth it still a neat thing when it comes to licensed games on the 360 a vast majority of these were multi-platform with the PlayStation 3. things like Afro Samurai and Fist of the North Star Ken's rage while memorable are stuck on Old consoles without any modern or PC ports but if we peel back all the layers and go licensed game Xbox 360 Xbox Live arcade exclusive then we come to something like South Park tenorman's Revenge I'd understand if you want to unpeel tannerman's Revenge is what you would probably expect it's a South Park game and actually at the time this came out it might have been the best one I mean it doesn't really have like any competition pre-stick of Truth was rough Timmerman's revenge is technically a follow-up to that one episode where cartwheel makes a duty chilly and nothing else happens and it goes through all the tropes that you would expect although yet might not have been expecting this to be a discount version of new Super Mario Brothers It's a standard platformer type of deal where each of the kids has their own abilities you run around collecting little orbs which give you extended time for a higher score which is exactly what SpongeBob did too I guess this is an Xbox Live arcade staple each kid has an additional superhero power up to do puzzles but I mean it all just kind of looks lame from a distance tenorman's revenge is very mid it's got that hit or miss South Park sense of humor and considering we already knew Stick of Truth was on the horizon this wasn't worth anyone's time forgotten for a reason at least the developer other ocean would go on to make the PlayStation 4 medieval remake what oh also two in television Amico games those are definitely coming out Timmerman's revenge is at the end of the day not great but not terrible either look if I had to pick between that and SpongeBob I'll pick the thing that lasts more than five minutes however while we're down here in the crap Zone we might as well talk about a few games that are frankly completely terrible if there's one thing I've learned about modern Gamers and their expectations is that they've completely forgotten what a really bad video game is the seventh generation and specifically the Xbox 360 are packed with them look all I'm saying is that some of you all need to go back and play darkest of days a game about time traveling through historical Wars to restore the proper flow of time one that feels really bad yeah something about this doesn't sit right although having automatic Future Weapons in ancient Rome is amusing the seventh gen feels like it might have been one of the best and worst generations of video game consoles ever it was filled with copycats franchises still having a hard time in 3D some of the biggest licensed disasters and enough useless plastic peripherals to fill up multiple landfills power gig is still one of the worst ideas of all time any old Google search will come up with a list of garbage to sift through but a lot of what appears are your more notorious entries like Bomberman act zero the time Konami legit thought that people wanted a cool Grim dark version of this cute Not only was the idea bad but so was the gameplay the music the visuals everything Konami in the 7th gen an incredible match if there was a case for worst Xbox 360 game this would be high up there and everyone knows that which is why I want to talk about Double Dragon 2 because this is worse in every way Double Dragon 2 wonder of the dragons came out a year after Double Dragon Neon and I'm not sure why they are reboots of the classic NES titles but both are developed and published by completely different companies created by gravity the Korean developer who brought us Ragnarok online of all things dd2 is a side-scrolling beat em up that consistently runs at less than 20 frames a second no joke my Xbox 360 is not dirty this is actual gameplay footage and it is always chugging the hit detection is shy and inconsistent the cutscenes seem to be weirdly mistimed from the audio the soundtrack is Bare Bones and the special moves were designed with the idea that using them punishes you you have to manage your health and a stamina bar that work together and the way that works is that you can get juggled for a very long time by Bosses like this guy can't kill me despite the fact that I have no health because I regen stamina too fast oh come on at least whenever you die you can press the Revenge button to continue thanks guys Double Dragon 2 Wander of the Dragons is not only a terrible name but a very bad game and I have no idea why this was given the green light after the much more well-received neon but hey it did achieve something it's the lowest reviewed Xbox 360 game on Metacritic two points less than ride to Hell retribution I don't really feel like talking about that Hulk Hogan's main event or a girl fight right now in fact I don't really want to spend too much time rolling around in the dirt so what's next every now and then I like to go to like a retro video game store pick out a console and just sit down go through every single title they got a through z and try to find something that I might not have heard of before I mean some of these consoles have literally thousands of games to look through and that was the case the other day when I was going through my old stomping ground in New Braunfels Texas the d-pad I found myself a copy of morph X morph X more simply swarm is a title that can be defined by one word Euro Jank like the most Euro that's ever been janked developed by a Russian group Tankian games who don't seem to be around anymore this originally released on PC in 2008 and came to the states in 2010 for the 360. and this one is weird taking place in the far future of 2011. Earth was mostly wiped out by an invading Alien Force leaving only a buzz cut Marine looking dudes the dialogue definitely feels like it was overdubbed in English because the cutscenes don't always line up with what's going on where's the hospital speak come on near the pavletski that area is still ours this whole thing starts with you playing as a dude waking up with amnesia so you don't even like have a character name to go off of so I guess we're Mr morph X guy uh Gourmet Fusion of Infamous coal and Commander Shepard this is a third person action game where you smack and shoot evil military guys and aliens in the quote hostile world according to the tutorial like really you're just kind of like murdering people and watching ridiculous ragdolling before eventually you get the power to I guess consume alien life matter and absorb their powers it's barely explained but you fight an alien and then you just kind of fall over like oh what's wrong it's like comedy instead of carrying do I look dead to you huh son of a morph X really Treads the line between kasage and actually bad and I can't decide if I love or hate it the main stick here is that when you're leveling up you get to play a casual game of pipe Mania alongside new weapons and psychic alien abilities you'll get little like pipe pieces that you can assign to create paths for leveling up your passives it's a really strange decision in a game that's already bizarre in every way on top of that as you play through the campaign fighting and absorbing different and newer aliens your character slowly begins turning into a bug man at a certain point you're not even holding melee weapons anymore you just have massive crab claws there are brief moments where it's kind of fun but it's so repetitive and you die so fast in this thing that it's just not worth it even on the normal difficulty you'll be mashing the retry button that's on top of the Euro Jank gotta love it when a cut scene ends and you start getting attacked from the side immediately look more facts might have a 33 on Metacritic and it does kind of suck but put that upside down and it's a uh whatever that is in my heart games that we could talk about but I'm kind of a hater and I don't want to do that look I'm sure we're going to get to it one day but for now we should talk about the exact opposite of that which would be like a Hidden Gem no doubt the Xbox 360s got him but this video is getting a bit wordy so let's do a little uh Hidden Gem rapid fire like one two minutes okay go what happens when you combine Mr driller with platforming you get Rascals a super charming and fun puzzle platformer racing title one that's backwards compatible and can be snagged for a tenor you're mashing through blocks stomp it on your friends heads and trying to get to the end first this is like a perfect example of a good Xbox Live arcade title you can't play it online anymore but Chrome hounds was amazing Sega made this super hardcore Mecha Sim that was all about strategy this thing had a pretty strong cult following for a bit I loved it myself massive Maps massive battles it was like Mech Warrior and armored Core smash together where you're grounded with a ridiculous amount of customization I missed this one a lot speaking of robots Vortex senko no Ronde is a terribly misunderstood gym it had pretty middling reviews and didn't sell too well at all but this thing was unique and fun as heck weirdly published by Ubisoft despite being a Sega joining arcades war tech is what happens when you combine Touhou with a fighting game you're battling an opponent doing a bullet hell while also trying to create your own bullet hell there were really no other games out there like this especially at the time well at least until the last few years one in 2017 it would get a sequel cenko norande 2. It's not for everyone but for a very specific few it'll scratch an itch like nothing else absolutely Dreadful American box art though considering the game looks like this it's been left in the dust these days with the original Xbox 360 version of prey is something worth your time it's a weird shooter that came out in a time frame between the sixth and seventh generation first person shooters it's kind of like what if Doom 3 had lights and a cool Star Trek aesthetic it's unfortunately been delisted from Steam and the series was rebooted with another game which is also supposed to be pretty good but just like Wolfenstein 2009 this thing is worth a look and last I gotta get an RPG in the mix Magna Carta two first off the idea of Magna Carta 2 on its own is hilarious but also this is a sequel to a PlayStation 2 game made by Korean developer softmax and when we had slim pickings for choices it stuck yeah rest in peace it's got a battle system kinda similar to Final Fantasy 12 but with a little more button pressing and while some of the characters are generic it's a neat throwback to a genre that was fading away at the time really the biggest issues are all related to the Seventh Generation it takes a while for this thing to get some color in it it may not be as good as Lost Odyssey which is like not even fair for me to say but Magna Carta 2's got some heart you definitely gotta appreciate the genre for this one same with Resonance of Fate you can skip enchanted Arms though and so here we are at the end of the compilation Style video and I have one more thing I want to talk about today and do I have a treat for y'all this is probably extremely stupid but whenever I think about forgotten Xbox 360 games I think of two specific titles kind of like a yin and yang if the Ying as Cameo elements of power then the Yang would be bullet witch and you don't want to mess with that this is bullet witch I'll like 15 frames a second of it bullet witch was developed by cavea the people who brought us near drakengard and Naruto zamaki Chronicles if you're aware of kavya in the slightest then you know how this is gonna go except you might not know that you're looking at the true real Bayonetta that's right 2006 baby this is a third person shooter that runs like absolute crap the entire time you're playing it but I actually somehow lost my 360 copy in the trash probably so I'm playing the steam pc re-release from 2018 where surprised they didn't re-render any of the cutscenes so on my 1440p monitor it still looks like this in bullet witch you play as a witch named Alicia also known as the bullet Witch she's got a big old gun and a non-existent attitude because she barely says or does anything at all [Music] prayers can bend over 90 degrees though which is a pretty cool Talent if you ask me I'm gonna say this right now I mentioned kasoke from morph X earlier but bullet Witch is the prime definition of casalege there are just so many ridiculous decisions made here that I don't understand that it almost feels like a parody first off levels are huge like unnecessarily massive it feels like they had a set design for the world but then decided it was too small so they just upscaled it Alicia could only move at a certain speed which is extremely slow so you spend a lot of time just walking and walking and if you get turned around which you probably will considering there's no points of interest anywhere all of which is obscured by 360 fog get prepared for a lot of this oh this too oh my God that's better now and to top it off some stages are so small you couldn't barely fit through the doors what's going on after each level you get to upgrade your witch spells and guns and there's something interesting here just it's not the UI you'll unlock new shot varieties for the gun raw but you might as well just stick with the shoddy for any level with hallways because it's nearly an instagib also shooting just doesn't even feel good you do get spells including some cool ones that do a lot of environmental damage which is honestly the coolest part of this entire game but using them as a pain and usually not worth it over blasting dudes with a Gatling gun I can never tell exactly what I'm supposed to be doing I learned if this tornadoes fell and it had me essentially fighting waves without any indicator of what's coming or when it's gonna end for a solid 15 minutes before deciding alright that's enough also can someone explain this you like shoot a plane's exit door open and burst out of the side to then be on the top you know what screw physics it's fine I'm gonna let bullet witch do her thing I've got some bad news too an engine took a hit there is no Universe where I can give an honest recommendation for bullet witch it's really bad but I also love how bad it is and I'm not even getting the full experience I got too many frames but nothing will ever beat the fact that in the States this was published by Atari I don't think of you as a witch anymore no I think of you as a beautiful woman and I'll never forget you so there you have it a bunch of weird and forgotten Xbox 360 video games in the bag I've really let the run time get away from me on this one but there's just so many strange Seventh Generation titles that I could really be here all day so if there are some y'all think I should talk about in the future let me know down in the comments always looking for weird games to talk about the fact that a lot of these are stuck on the Consular in some cases delisted makes experiencing these a huge pain in the butt and when you had such a high failure rate with this console let's just say we needed more backwards compatibility if you liked today's video make sure to check out today's
