Forging a copper hammer / mallet

[Music] hello there today I want to make a copper hammer or mallet this tool is going to replace a wooden mallet that I use when I'm doing this operation here and I'm just keep burning the wooden mallet up and it doesn't have enough striking power so I think the copper mallet will be much better for this I need to offset that wrapped around handle twice without marring it it sure doesn't look hot what it is [Music] [Music] compare it with steel this is like cutting through butter [Music] for copper it's very hard to judge temperature by color as opposed to steel [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I want this as soft as possible and quenching copper accomplishes that as opposed to steel [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] here's the finished copper a mallet I think this is going to work perfectly for my need catch you guys next time [Music]
