Chewbacca I got us a new clutch hub kit from Ford so we're gonna put that baby on here not the belt that runs the 8c but when it runs AC is a stretchy belt there's a desolate right Harold plain old plain old belt there give you much room on that attention to do this something monkeys there we'll crack that one guy loose I'll do the rest underneath the little guy lives right here under this cover which is the entire Thunder liner so much dirt I think this loose hopefully t30 bit you're gonna find a bunch of these we're up here looking a little angry when it's not comes right out boom maybe this one here Oh actually get looser now [Music] a couple of these little plastic push nails there looks like one more screw back in here and then one back in there by the heat guess where this direction I think that's all [Music] [Music] think being the keyword oh is that one or two ha there it is this is what we're going after now this has a stretchy belt out so there's no tensioner I'm gonna try to use a universal remover let's see if it works if not we'll just chop it off make sure you're spinning into the right direction though I'll tell you that see background is a snitch here trying to get it started so this is basically inclined plane that you will I think it's supposed to just roll off the edge the tool is humongous frankly I've never had it work because it just does stupid stuff like that so we'll try it again we'll go round to it I always just end up cutting these belts off or using a screwdriver like everybody else in the world which is what we're gonna do I should get behind there we stretch-fit belt about this dumbest thing I've ever seen see of course we don't want to break anything see if we get behind here with something oops oh there anyway if tala if you'd get them started off the edge usually that's all you need of course guys tripod rate my way [Music] sometimes put them back on I just use the zip tie I've got about every tool they've invented particularly belts on and off and the only one I've seen work is the one that you used for Subarus I've got gate ones I've got daikon ones I bought the ones from Lyle some manufacturers say not to reuse these I'm in the Fortin book it tells you you know under stretch it stretch it back on but I did get new belts for this car we're gonna pull this piece off might be a shim behind here that looks like the end of the bearing there's some more bearing because if I really loses balls 22,000 miles in this part thing 22 or 24,000 get some snap ring pliers how are you holding down comes with a new ones I'm not too worried about locating this one else there we go so there's our snap ring that's off now typically please pull off this one does look at that bang I made the right call anyways its lucky thing didn't seize up on him now we've got to get the magnetic clutch off which we've got to unplug I don't know well I got a tape off on this connector that's interesting see if we can hit the release tab on it and actually let me get a pic I can't let's reach me an idea get some gravel in it I can't just lift the tab up and said they're trying to fight through that tape so let's suck it off okay wiggle that off now there's one more snap in there sometimes these snap rings have a tapered side of flat sites you gotta kind of pay attention once you get it off you have to tap a little bit [Music] sometimes that's all it takes [Applause] snap ring moves in that direction move in the other direction here that moves in both directions oh snap ring players give up the ghost on me I'm gonna get a different pair see if we can't bring these ones well that's not very handy the ends that we tap loose if you lens it there we go talk to me just working out of the groove just when have I left undone work it in the groove let's see now that dead oh we're gonna throw something to man Oh sugar let's see come on down it's like the price is right I think that's the show they came on down hey so pay attention here is this got a tapered side I think it does I think this inside edge is tapered well look at the new one it's nice and flat here on the back we'll keep it this side up so we know and then these are usually press down a little better you got a tap LeMond let me get some prying devices see if we can sneak behind this okay oh there we go what I'm too bad sometimes they're a little worse than that so there's our magnetic part of the plunge we got to get all this shmoo off here otherwise the new one might not sit on as far so we definitely got to get this corrosion off if it could give you a fit getting your snap ring on that could be why our inner one was so tight also let me get a little WYSIWYG ones that right around that thing sit under here keep it genuine Motorcraft one probably have to give this a little bit of luck baby nope she fits right up on her nice no there's a little notch it SS get in feels like it's not all whaling me find the appropriate snap ring are correct it is beveled it's probably really hard to show on camera but the beveled side you know it's got a slight taper facing in make sure you put that in in the right direction otherwise you got impact at the time trying to get that snap ring on just see it no it's not all the way right now give it a little push one here click did not click okay make sure Magnus is where he needs to be you give it a little tap in so we watch it drop in the group that side dropped in that side dropped in no twist here just make sure no one that may be coming loose on you I seen both the ends drop in yeah that's it all the way I just wanted to be sure to grab the magnet or something magnet that will bury itself bearing in the inner part of the clutch here subtitle it again it's a little nicer than the other one alright we're going to take and plug it back in okay that's cancer out three botnets get the other snap ring and this one is also beveled see if I can step it up flinging on me if I Ain't careful get up there you ever try to work around the camera and a tripod yes sir there that one is in fo-sho you're a little tweak Davis to be sure careful your seal there okay that is fully seated now we need to see what the air gap is supposed to be we've got a whole bunch of shins we've got the outer face start watch here you're gonna stick shims in the hole to set the air gap cuz we're gonna put it on without a shim first just to see where it's at it's probably scraping yeah that's great fences so slight that back off let me see what they use for an original shin here but not get out of the old hub don't come out so we're just I just put the original shim inside they were just gonna use it for a big fat guess right now at least give us a baseline can't make sure it's Steve in there okay that's not hidden we'll get a measurement while I'm waiting from our fantastic internet to reboot there's a little felt washer that goes in here oops there's our shim let me just make sure that gets stuck in there oops Oh its purpose is it I guess it's keep junk out of the sea there stay no more just keep right on the end here then I guess I thought it would stick in there a little bit but that was more wrong Oh looks like iron your nets back up and running it's to kill Jim back in there I'll get us a measurement after much digging 12 to 24,000 should have just took a guess so let's see we're at about a 25 right here our fingers that slips in very easily usually you check them in a couple two or three different points but all right let's pull that out see what we have for a shin let me get one a little bit thinner I didn't measure it I just picked one that looked thinner okay don't flip our feeler gauges here we'll go 15 we'll see where we're at I can say it was quite a broad range we can use okay 15 it's got a little bit of drag make sure the 25 doesn't sit there with no in between or we need to be it still fits oddly enough let's go to fair amount of drag over there I tell you what let me let me bust the bold in it we can make sure we're tight let's go back to our 25000 that has that's actually pushing the clutch out a little bit there oops you just come over to this side these things don't sit perfectly straight on this side I cannot slip it in well forcing it so let's go to the minimum side of our scale was it 12,000 just to make sure 12 slips in there nicely and it does so we're somewheres between 12 and 24 spatulas 12 to 24 so we're gonna leave it that's not really rocket surgery there I'm gonna melt that kind here corsets we put our new Bolden factory specs I swapped out our inner belt with the new one that I got I'll get our stretchy belt here get this slit up and around our insulation to what we can try to give that it go which I do not believe it will work because they don't put the little wing here that's supposed to kick the Belden when Lyle made this tool they don't they don't put it in far enough so I think it's just gonna make our belt ride up around the edge of the pulley which it typically does it always makes the belt one groove off this tool in my opinion is virtually worthless I've never had at work I've tried it multiple times so we're gonna go old-school stretchy belt install stupidest things there are they creep and crack and make all kinds of racket sometimes you can just throw as if tied through the pulley and throw all the tools in the garbage you just got to get it to go coming out from the bottom we don't want to do that that's the worst part is you got to make sure you stay in all the other pulley grooves cuz it's gonna want to kick over on you latter technology going there we're now in the groove on the crank we're in the grooves on the AC these belts are almost twice the cost of a regular belt this kind of say they're kind of foolish if you ask me usually you try to slip your belts over a smooth pulley everything it's in the old layer turn on the water pump the temperature we should be good see if it makes noise if you compressor nice and quiet this thing is so freaking loud when we started what are you gonna manage you guys saw that bearing 8c look I just heard it quick that's it folks AC compressor clutch on your 2012 Ford Focus like this little guy was low miles for having you know complete bearing eruption in there 20 27 24 27 22 less than 30 let's call that that's what it sounded like when it was running just a lot worse genuine ford motor craft one fit nice came with all the kibbles and bits set in the air gaps pretty forgiving like I say their specs pretty big just landed between 12 and 24 somewheres and that's it let me know your thoughts on stretchy fit belts what you guys think about it if you've been running across them in the shop we see them quite often like I say if you know of a universal tool that works good let me know I've bought I got about six of them over there none of them really work well other than you know
