hello Electro heads today is the Battle of the electric folding bikes which one of these four are gonna tickle your pickle let's find out so in the blue Corner we have go cycle and in the green Corner we have my rider all of them have earned their place in the market as being one of the very best in terms of electric folders so today I'm going to run you through their key features and differences and help you find out if any one of these four can fit into you fit into you to help you work out with any or a good fit in your lifestyle let's go time but who are go cycle and my rider well first up they're both British but go cycle they are pretty much 20 years old now and they are basically The Godfather in the Evike folding market so the founder he is actually an ex McLaren class design engineer and you bet he has brought with him patented Tech and expertise and knowledge and performance that is going to make you drool but let it be known these products are premium which does mean a premium price and my rider they're actually fairly recent newcomers they've only been on the market for about four years but their ethos is to bring forward a much more Affordable Electric folder that doesn't let you compromise on quality or style so I think it's about time that we take a closer look thank you let's kick things off with pricing at the time we filmed this video the prices are as follows in ascending order as Flagship my rider won a single speed with rear suspension and a great selection of colors starts from 1595 pounds the newest offering from my rider is the GB3 kitted out with three gears to conquer varying terrain plus all their latest r d packed inside which will set you back 2 495 pounds moving on to go cycle the G4 is the Baseline for their latest model it's lightweight and Sports bespoke Go cycle features like their patented motor and clean Drive amongst other things this will set you back 3299 pounds the g4i builds off the G4 and is packed full of incredible features like predictive electronic shifting and a carbon fiber mid frame it comes in as the most expensive today at an eye-watering 4999 pounds now let's dig a Little Deeper by running through the standout features of each bike and make sure to to use the chapters in the timeline to hand pick what you need to know but to be fully cleared up you'll want to watch the whole way through all of these e-bikes in today's video have a 250 watt motor and hit a Max 15.5 miles per hour in line with UK regulations let's start with the my rider one which has a range of 45 miles is a single speed it has cable brakes but you can spec that up if you wish has 16 inch wheels weighs 17.3 kilograms and takes a Max ride away of 120 kilograms pretty decent for folders the myrider GB3 is very similar with 45 miles of range however it does have three gears instead of just the one has hydraulic brakes 16 inch wheels also and weighs a little bit heavier at 19.4 kilograms moving on to the go cycles and the G4 has 40 miles of range three gears hydraulic brakes 20 inch wheels and weighs in at 17.6 kilograms and finally the g4i has the largest range of the offerings today with 50 miles it also has three gears but has electronic shifting which I'll talk about later it has hydraulic brakes 20 inch wheels and weighs in again at 17.6 kilograms both of the go Cycles can take 100 kilograms for a Max Rider weight so just 20 kilograms short of what the my rider offers added extras with the go Cycles include Bluetooth connectivity with the gocycle app the G4 motor the clean drive and also a USB charge port I think it's time to go for a ride [Music] the main difference between the my rider 1 and the GB3 which I have here is firstly the handlebars are just 20 millimeters wider which gives you a bit more stability and control when it comes to using the 16 inch wheels on the my Riders secondly the seat is an upgrade it's so Royale and it's very very comfortable you've also got an LCD display color and the biggest difference of all this bike is a three-speed The Marauder one just the one I've got 99 problems whether my Riders really shine compared to the go cycle is the fact that this has a boost button so there is a little bit of delay when you start pedaling on the my Riders however that is combated by the fact that you can then put the Boost button to use which means that you are shooting off at the traffic light so I'm actually here at the moment at a red I'm going to show you exactly how it works when you push the Boost button you get a really quick boost that pushes you off and you're being everybody else at the traffic lights you can also use this when you walking along here we go you just engage so quickly and it's really great and it really gives you the upper hand compared to everybody else on the road you also can use the Boost button whilst you're walking along it's used as a walk assist for up to four miles per hour but you cannot use this if you're not pedaling and it just means that when you're cycling along and you need a little extra boost that's right here for you and also the power on this bike for illegal electric bike riding this up the Hills this handles incredibly well I get so much power you really aren't working that hard when you're going up if you're in level five assists getting up the hills is an absolute breeze so all those things are small they are very very mighty [Music] so our features on the my riders for me are like I mentioned the Boost button compact storage rear suspension they look awesome particularly the my rider in Orange and you can basically pop a wheelie with how talky they are and you can carry 20 kilograms more in terms of Rider weight than the go cycle my one gripe with the my Riders and there's only one is the fact that I'm used to a much bigger wheel and these are 16 inch which does mean that you have to get used to the style of ride it's a little bit more Twitchy there's a little bit less stability when you get on them but if you're used to that size of wheels and that's absolutely fine but for me it just took a little bit more getting used to [Music] my rider also have Wicked Aftercare every single bike is built in the UK and there's a little sticker right here with the signature of the one individual who built the bike and the Aftercare itself is great so you get two years on the warranty that includes two years on the frame two years on the battery and also all the electronic components like the LCD display the wiring the brake cutoffs and of course the throttle and you do get a year on stuff that is a bit more wearable like the lights and the charger itself so if you're going for a bike like this like my rider you know that you have Aftercare sorted there are very few differences between the G4 and the g4i which I'll quickly run you through now so first up you get 25 more range you also have this F1 inspired cockpit which shows a little bit more information than the G4 you've got your battery life you've got the amount of torque that is being put out by this bike and you also have your gear selections speaking of Gears the gears shift themselves so you don't have to and it's an absolute dream when you're in stop and start traffic it's just one less thing to worry about you also get updated handlebars for these Ergo cushioning that you get here and also an updated seat for extra comfort you also get removable pedals which is fantastic for storage because that means you just get a little bit extra shaved off the edges and really good if you need to lock it up somewhere take those pedals off it makes it a lot harder to seal you can also adjust the height of the handlebar on this one which you can't do with the G4 and the design is just that bit more clean because you haven't got any wires poking out of it like the G4 has you can really feel the difference on the go cycle in terms of its geometry because this bike has the same touch points as a larger cycle so the my ride for example when you jump on that it does feel like a smaller fold but you really don't get that with the go cycle G4 and g4i you'll have noticed as well that The Wheels On The Go cycle are bigger than the my rider which does just mean naturally there is more stability when you're taking corners and taking the roads however this does mean that storage wise the my rider definitely wins it's a lot smaller to fold down but this as well in terms of comfort overall is fantastic it's really lovely to ride it really does soak up the bumps as well it doesn't really look like a cushy bike to ride but it's very bouncy you see that very bouncy indeed can we quickly talk about the speed on the go Cycles so the display doesn't show you how fast you're going and I wonder if this actually goes over 15.5 miles per hour I mean it's just a hunch and it probably doesn't but it feels very very quick what I do miss however between the go cycle and my rider is that that boost button on the My Rider is such a dream and actually I much prefer it so although the my rider does take a little bit of time to kind of kick into gear without that boost button this one it does kind of like get off at the lights and it is great but that boost really does just like give you a bit more control over when you're going to be dashing off the lights [Music] there is a lot to sing about with the go cycle but my star features have to be firstly the go cycle app with Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to personalize your riding Style by adjusting the motor assist and seeing health and ride stats the clean Drive is also an amazing bonus so you can wear anything you choose from skirts to lose trousers it really opens up the possibilities of where and when you can ride your bike the electronic shifting on the g4i is just an incredible feeling to experience and bonus point for the go cycle is you do get way less sweaty when using them compared to the my Riders so that is something to consider as well if you want to get to and from work with as little effort as possible onto the small print which is oh so crucial and that is warranty and you get two years for the battery for the components and three years for the frame wear and tear like tires and brake pads are not included so those are my star features but however there are a few bug bears that I have about the go cycles and first of all all that is let me get through this first there we go first of all that is the display I just think it's a little bit over complicated I kind of like get that they were trying to do that F1 cockpit inspired design and it's very different but it's not simple to read it's like you do need to adjust to it also if you're on switch when you press it you don't know if you've actually pressed it in enough because you don't get any feedback or there isn't a clip or anything like that so again I'm definitely picking holes here but if I could improve the go cycle it would be a button that gives you some feedback and finally one that we're all thinking about the price they're very expensive aren't they I mean you get a lot for your money but my god do you have four or five grand to spend on a bike let me know in the comments foreign ERS or go Cycles take your fancy in this head to head then click the link in the description below or
