In this video, I'll be showing  you how to fix Valorant lag, ping,   and packet loss. These issues are commonly  caused by connection or internet issues.  The first and most obvious solution is  to try to restart your modem or router.   Be sure to leave it off for at least 60  seconds to ensure it resets correctly.  Next, you can try flushing your  DNS and performing a Winsock reset.  Open the start menu and search for "cmd". Right-click on command prompt and open it as   administrator, and confirm permission if asked. Next, you will need to enter in all of the   commands we have here one by one. You can  copy and paste the commands from the link in   the description. Be sure to press enter after each  command and allow time for each process to finish.  Restart your computer once all the  commands have finished, then try Valorant.  If Valorant is still lagging  then open the start menu.  Search for "control panel" then open it. Make sure the view by option is set to category,   then select "view network status and tasks". Select your connection on the side.  Open the properties. Select Internet Protocol Version   4 (TCP/IPv4), then open the properties. Check the option to use the following   DNS server addresses. Now you need to select a   DNS server to use, typically the Google  or CloudFlare DNS servers are used.  For CloudFlare set the preferred DNS server  to 1.1.1.1 and the alternate DNS to 1.0.0.1.  For Google set the preferred DNS server to  8.8.8.8 and the alternate DNS to 8.8.4.4.  Click Ok when done then try Valorant again.  If you are still experiencing lag, high ping,   or packet loss then we recommend opening the  properties again and removing the custom DNS.  Next, try closing applications that may be using  your internet, such as Chrome. Some applications   will minimize to the hidden icons tray when closed  so be sure to close them completely. Be sure not   to close anything that you're unsure of. When possible we highly recommend using an   ethernet connection, however,  this might not be an option.  If you are using Wi-Fi then you may have 2 Wi-Fi  channels, a 2.4GHz option, and a 5GHz option.  Open the start menu and search  for "Wi-Fi Settings" then open it.  Choose to show available networks and see  if you have two options for your network.  In most cases connecting to the 5G option  will work best as it provides faster speeds   which is optimal for gaming. However, if  you are a long distance from your router,   modem or nearest extender, then you  may want to use the 2.4G option.  The next option is to update your network drivers. Open the start menu and search   for "device manager". Open the device manager.  Expand the network adapters category, then select  your adapter. Your adapter name may be different   so be sure to select the right one. Right-click on your adapter   and choose to update drivers. Choose to search automatically,   then complete the update if provided  with one. You may need to restart your   computer once the process has finished. The next solution is to make sure you're   not connected to a VPN. Even if  you have closed a VPN program the   connection may still be active. Be sure you  disconnect and try playing Valorant again.  Another option is to try to limit how many devices  are active on your network while you play. If the   lagging or ping issue is a new development  then it's unlikely that this is the cause.  The lag, high ping, and packet loss  issues will now be solved in Valorant.  Like the video if you found it helpful,  and check out another Valorant video here.
