[Music] okay so first thing you need to do is activate the adhesive one more time Brad there's this say you're going to put that right there what's up guys you probably found this video because you're interested in wrapping a car and it's probably the first rap you've ever done we're nearly done wrapping this Porsche and it's the first car we've ever done we certainly learned a lot and we're here today to show you some of the tips and tricks we learned to hopefully make your first rap a lot easier now guys before we get started showing you all the tips and tricks that we wish we would have known before we started vinyl wrapping this car we're gonna get into a couple of the tools necessary to do a great job first you got to pick out a vinyl we used vivid premium plus vinyl now the mistake we made is we didn't order enough at the beginning this is about 75 feet of total vinyl including the box so take that into consideration when you order vinyl for your car first time I think we ordered like 45 feet which was way less than adequate on top of that we screwed up a few panels so we definitely needed way more than even 75 feet the thing that you'll need is knifeless tape especially around like bumpers and other places where you want to have a perfect cut an exacto knife is great for just making cuts but when you want a perfect line or you have to go around an edge knifeless tape is the way to go you need a squeegee you need an exacto knife isopropyl alcohol to clean the grease before you hit it with the wrap attack as well as a trusty dusty pika yeah that's right can't do it without a heat gun now all this stuff is linked down in the description so click down there by what you guys need again this is all the stuff that we used one of the things that we did that really helped was we started to work the vinyl and get acclimated with it so let me show you over here take some sort of scrap piece and put it between here and here okay now what we want to do is we want to heat it up but we'll take a quick look at these imperfections in the vinyl this new vinyl is so good that with just a little bit of heat this will go all away right so check this out heat it up heat it up heat it up look at that disappears disappears now the second thing I want you to do is go through and really work the stretch now watch this I can really mess with it okay now watch this with a little bit of heat it goes right back and relaxes do something that has a little bit of curvature like the front fenders now I laid it down and you can see these fingers right here so this is something that what we were doing before is we were taking the squeegee and just working them out and like totally screwing this up but if you start looking the vinyl needs to be stretched down this way so you always want to put a spot like this where it's completely flat and then pick it up with your hands and what we found is you get under to where that finger is and then give it a little feet just a little bit you can feel it on your fingertips and then lay it down with a squeegee you'd be able to just it right out so what you'll want to do is just start playing with the vinyl play with the scrap piece set it back down you can see that there's some some bad spots here and all we'll do is is hit it and watch it disappear just like that we're now gonna actually lay some glass here and give you guys an up-close-and-personal look on how to do that so I'm gonna need trav if you have a friend get a buddy because otherwise it's really tough to lay glass by yourself [Music]
