First Rock Hunt of the Season on My Favorite Beach

Well, spring's finally getting here to northern Michigan. We've had some weather in the 50s like low 50s a couple of times. Today it's 25. It's supposed to get up to 32, but the ice is finally melting off this beach. This is the first time I've gotten on this year. I drove by here earlier like a week ago and there was still ice floating in the lake, so this is the first chance I've actually gotten to get on this beach. I'm pretty excited to be here. Hopefully there's some good rocks that have been pushed up by the ice over the winter. There's a Petoskey stone is it on the other side it's pretty good back sight isn't great I should probably take that with me but I'm not going to just Potter to putting stone I don't think it's a very good one but we'll take a look not too bad on that side but I can do better by putting a stone that really small little piece of Jasper in there kind of pretty though another putting stone this ports in there though not much Jasper Petoskey stone tiny dog and Ottilia you're putting salt on a home tumbler sighs guy the nice one there's another Petoskey stone yeah that looks like one of the hard types sometimes they get not too much so okay mm or something and they they just don't polish up very well nice slope Petoskey stone that's a keeper solo Petoskey stone hiding down here oh that's no good with the other side but now not a keeper little hardcore I don't usually pick up the worn coral once in a while yes like they're really wait lines like that notice they putting stone here not a very good one actually this caught my life with a piece of eunuch ight that's your pretty nice piece really nice piece I don't think I need any of this right now you saw my you know kite epidote video kind of up to my ears and this stuff but that's a nice one maybe somebody else will pick it up just turn the camera off and spotted a putting stone out here that's coming home with me already oh that's a nice one that's a really nice one love those lots of Jasper that's pretty no no I do I do with it so the pudding stone hiding underneath the ice Thank You frozen in yeah not a good one nothing much there that's cool that's going in the tumbler for sure I don't know what that is that's awesome it's a nice one the big putting stone out here it's very good but we're kicking over and I thought it was that's late it's nice besides not should we just have a little bit right through here that's pretty good but that's too big for my saw so I'm gonna leave it behind plus it looks kind of heavy what is wrong big chunks of Jasper in that one nice big putting stone little piece of Jasper and a cool Oh big though this piece of unifight don't need more eunuch right but that's nice one oh it's collecting this today I'd be taking that one home a bad pudding stone but it's not a great pudding stone I could fit that one in a tumbler but yeah I think I'll be optimistic and think I'll get a better one big piece of driftwood here pretty cool my father-in-law carves fish and he looks for stuff like that to mount them on so I might bring that home for him I'll grab him the way back there's Taos Keystone waters not actually that rough there's just these big rollers coming in they're just here on this point we've got her once I get up that way a little bit more I don't see them rolling in there a whole bunch of cool rocks right in this one area this is a green thing I have no idea what that is that's pretty cool I take that on home and cut it up see what it looks like and then what else they see oh there's this pink one so I won't bring home just pink quartz with kind of a brown stripe through it then there's this one that's kind of cool what'd I do with that but it might be going into Tilly but it doesn't have any the Reds that he usually has it and usually there's red granite in there and then there was something else I saw over here Stacy oh there was a pudding stone somewhere on the pudding stone go he was rolling around in the waist here you know I don't see any more it wasn't a very good pudding stone anyhow this was kind of cool yeah let me know as cool as I thought oh there's the pudding stone okay here got a good one almost got me just kick this one in from deeper water like a Christmas rock kind of cool it's found this big fossil here usually this stuff's called flattop aura but usually that looks more like this like smaller little branches these are great big things might be famous IDs I'm not really sure cool whatever it is haven't done very well toss keys today but I just found a nice one okay yeah that's a keeper last look like yeah not very good in the back sounds pretty good coming up is the most exciting part of my day and the most disappointing part of editing when I realized that accidently had my camera and take relapsed mode so I slowed it down to about 5% and just to get a bunch of still images here but imagine me being very excited as I picked up this piece Oh banded iron formation or jaspe light and you can find this just up a new ski and Lake Superior and I've never found a piece this nice anywhere so it's very surprised to find it here and then there's also piece of ice that I found it was formed over some glass it just found the pudding saw a man holding out for haven't picked it up yet and it looks amazing that's a good one oh my gosh look at that that's awesome I think I might be going home that's why you come here I think it's time turn around got one more little pile of rocks to look at here and it's mostly sand from here on out here's a big Petoskey stone not any good but big pretty much no pattern on it and it's got the brown spots all over this pot place that's kind of cool-looking thanks for coming along with me today that's a great day on the beach these two rocks are by far my favorite so they made the whole trip worthwhile but this scenery really makes it worthwhile also so
