FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THE LAW IN VIETNAM (lesson learned)

good morning everybody good morning from the train so today we're uh we're going to start pushing towards um danae which is about two days from here and that's how long we're gonna take to drive there yeah we have a few things that need to get done in and there's kind of a time crunch so we're going to have a couple really long days but i think the drive is also supposed to be spectacular so how you feeling for yesterday pretty tired it's going to be three straight days of uh driving yeah i guess this is the real test this is my second day on the motorbike we have what like a nine hour day i need coffee before i can [Music] it's gonna rain again i ripped my poncho sweetheart [Music] you ready [Music] well we made it out of the city it's been about an hour it's still raining still raining really look at my gloves right i don't know if that translates yeah it did i think i saw you but this road is so cool it just goes on and on and there's like cows over here it's so green it's pretty cool out here oh there's a truck first truck we've seen in a while what's really fun is that when trucks pass you in the rain you just get like yeah we were on the highway for a while and the water would just come and hit you like a wave and it was really warm which was kind of nice take a nice warm bath every once in a while but i'm glad we're on a country road now yeah this is awesome so we've completed our one of our seven hour journey today yep and we're on track it's really nice i think i like it more when it's raining lightly like this because it keeps you cool otherwise it's really hot are you not as much of a fan i like it when it i'm dry my toes are still looking here you stole my right driveway yeah i'm still soaked in here oh man condensation in there yep this is a backup phone my uh my primary is worth in my pocket nice and dry smart and then this is not turning on at all you know it was running for more than five minutes but you know gopros it's starting to rain harder again tia wants everybody to know her keychain is doing well [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so [Music] beautiful how you doing love you good wet good look at my fingertips they're all pretty oh yeah thank goodness for all these little coffee shops everywhere this is like a little cup of heaven it's sweet and creamy and perfect and these places are really nice they even have hammocks in case you want to just wait out the uh the rain and take a nap but unfortunately we don't have enough daylight for that how so if anyone's wondering what a bathroom looks like when you're road tripping across vietnam look at this so there it is nice squatty potty this one actually has toilet paper which is awesome sometimes actually most time you don't don't get that but yeah it's not bad it works um and then this one has really cute pigs over here oh my gosh little babies hey mama but this is definitely one of the best views i've ever had next to a bathroom oh my gosh so pretty all right it stopped raining it did we waited it out so let's hope that it stays like this for the rest of the day thank you for navigating yeah no problem you're doing a great job i love you i love you [Applause] [Music] just down the road there uh tia and my dad both just got flagged down by some police officers so i'm gonna wait here for a few minutes and see if they make it through otherwise i'll go back and check on we weren't speeding or anything i think it's just a routine thing no one really drives the uh the type of bike that my dad has so i think they saw that and they probably thought he made an easy mark so we'll see so trivia's dad is negotiating with the police right now and they said they're going to impound our bike and detain our licenses for the next seven days if we don't give them enough so hopefully what we got is enough for uh all right here they come [Music] what happened they took all of our money they took all your money you have the decoy wallet they said first that we didn't have proper licenses uh he said he's gonna impound my bike i just said i pay the ticket now and he said it's gonna be two and a half million per yeah so at that point i showed the guy in my wallet and i had like 600 000 in there and you always think you're not going to be one into one until it actually happens to you tia looks upset yeah also just to be clear you guys we weren't even going 50 kilometers an hour so we were definitely not speeding but you can't really argue with them in that situation no all right so we just bought some gas we have a little bit more money hidden inside of our bags so we should be good but man what a damper on today it is what it is [Music] [Music] all right so after our shakedown with the police it immediately started raining again um i just stepped in cow poop and uh jason's uh gopro just melted to the charger so you know we're having a little bit of rough time right now on the bright side though this is beautiful this is stunning you've got this river here and all the clouds are clearing up and you can see it's just like 360 mountains all over and the roads are much better quality than they were like 20 minutes ago oh man she is having a rough day i'm having a little bit of rough one but yeah it's part of this part of the adventure right right yeah we need to find something good to eat yeah we're about three hours away from our destination and uh at this rate i don't think we're gonna make it there before dark the bikes are doing absolutely amazing though may delilah and dad's bike chad chad we're really in the sticks now yeah this is a little farm town you can see like all these houses around stilts and they keep their cows underneath it and they cut cow cut is like wander free in town it's really cool we just stopped at the first restaurant that we've seen in what like maybe an hour and a half yeah in the first town that we've went through in like two hours we've got hot dogs on a stick because they're out of everything else but you know honestly these look amazing how are they well it tastes like hot dogs yeah protein all right yeah as long as it's hot i'm really happy so as we were sitting here a group of kids behind this wall right here and right here came up and uh i think we're quite the attraction yeah they're just sitting here staring at us for the last like half hour and laughing giggling they're so cute i don't think they've seen tourists in a long time i don't think so they're so cute all right are you ready let's push through okay we got uh just a little bit longer to go feeling fresh ted um yeah sure all right it's a relative term you know yeah gotta let the cows pass look how big they are [Music] so [Music] so it's about to turn dark but the weather is very clear and this road's nice and quiet so we decided we're gonna push through and right now these guys are booking the hotel for us [Music] we made it that was a heck of a drive i think that's the most difficult driving day i've ever had in my life overall but also one of the most fun sorry you guys we're all delirious but cheers cheers thank you guys for coming with us on this one see you tomorrow subscribe
