First day of seeding 2021

so good morning ladies and gentlemen my name is austin and i work at full line ag a farm equipment dealership located in the beautiful province of saskatchewan so today it is sunday the 25th of april and we are in the sas tune store before i go too much further i'll show you these quick tool boxes holy these are really really nice so as you can see this one still has the plastic the white plastic on top and it is that stainless steel otherwise but i kind of like like that white because it looks like a real fent then it's got the orangey red wheels the green and then the white just like how it is on the roof but still there's something about still something about that messy red that i can't get enough of but like i was saying i'm in the sasktune store right now and i need to pick up a bunch of parts and bring them out to purdue we're getting awfully close now to seeding and guys are getting into their sprayers they're getting into their drills and getting everything all ready to rock and roll so pick up a bunch of parts throw in my truck to make sure they're out there bright and early for tomorrow in purdue we got a bunch of morris parts we got some clutch kits going on a cart a cable for it i already took out the other stuff in the purdue pile and there's just quite a bit of stuff that needs to get ready to go because customers are going to be needing it here to get all their their equipment ready for seating and that busy crazy time of the year so now here in front of me is a fent tractor that is pretty stripped apart it is a brand new fent tractor but it's getting a little bit of work done and it is actually getting the front three-point hitch and the front pto so this tractor was brand new the customer when he was buying it wanted front pto and three-point hitch so here we are installing it the one really really cool thing that i wanted to show you is how much space is between that front axle and your frame so that shows how much that front axle can actually move and when you're driving that front axle is constantly moving constantly providing the best possible ride that a tractor can provide so the other cool thing with that tractor being in the back here is there's a whole streamline of trades that went through that tractor so that tractor was sold and we took in this massey ferguson 6180 on trade and two videos ago i went to a customer's place to look at his ford tractor because he was interested in buying this so we ended up buying this and we took that ford tractor in on trade and now we got to sell that ford tractor so you can kind of see the progression from selling the one taking it on trade and then selling the trade and taking another trade in but this tractor is going to a really good home and this tractor is an absolute gem it has actually a workbook inside with all its documentation of everything that's ever been done on it filters changed oil changes everything so this tractor is just getting a little bit of tlc bring this paint back to its glory days and get a couple new decals on it and then it will be going out to the customer's place so here we are on day one of seeding 2021 it is the 27th of april it is extremely extremely dry out but we are seeding nonetheless we are in a versatile 550 four-wheel drive pulling a 60-foot morris quantum drill and a 9650 morris cart and we're seeding wheat right now we are seeding about two bushels an acre and about a hundred and ten hundred and twenty pounds per acre of fertilizer and so far it's been going fairly smooth it is the first day so we have ran into some hiccups but the verse styles running good the morris is running good we just had a little bit of connection a little bit of connection issues there on the back harness going to the clutches on the cars so other than that it's been actually fairly smooth we actually got stopped by the police on the highway there right behind us it is a busy highway right outside the city and the cops like to hang out there and it's right at mont's end so we had to they had to pull out some scales and put some scales underneath the one truck they were hauling seed back to this field with and yeah we didn't get a ticket [Music] so so since this whole field is very very dry we were actually able to you can see the slough right there we went with we went with a sunflower disk and we went disks around this field we gained back quite a bit of land which is which is really really nice that's the only kind of positive and benefit with these really dry years is that we can kind of regain and reclaim some more some more land that we previously lost because of sloughs but it's fairly fairly rough in that slow bed so we're cooking along at 4.9 miles per hour we can see we're on past 16 now and we started that about halfway through here we had to restart because we had to fill up and we ended up shutting off the tractor and all that stuff and yeah kind of kind of screwed up by not saving the field but we we're all fixed up now and we're rolling and we're just about home free just got this last little bit to do around here but the sun's going down and it feels nice to be just about done and now we just finished for the night here we finished this field off and all went very very smooth we got the tractor parked up here the drill and the cart we're supposed to maybe be getting some it says snow tonight but i don't think it will be because it doesn't even really look like we'll be getting any rain at this point but i guess we'll see and play it by ear and yeah start again tomorrow morning then go get some more fertilizer and keep this thing stocked up so this keeps rolling throughout most of the day and keep rolling on and moving to the next fields so that is going to be it for today's
