ITS EMERGENCY DISASTER SERVICES SENDING OUT TRUCKS OF FOOD AND OTHER ESSENTIALS. AND HERE WELL IT PICKED UP A BUNCH OF NEW SNOW IN THE MOST RECENT STORM AND EVERY BIT HELPS, AFTER A DRY JANUARY AND FEBRUARY, THE SNOW LAB SAID RECENT SNOWFALL HAS REACHED 6 INCHES AND THE DRY WEATHER HAS LEFT IT FAR BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. >>> WE WILL DISCUSS THAT IN THE DRAMATIC CHANGE IN THE SNOWPACK FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR UNTIL NOW BUT FIRST WE WILL LOOK OUTSIDE WHERE RIGHT NOW WE HAVE CLEAR SKIES AROUND THE BAY AREA AND GOOD VISIBILITY AS WELL AND THE NUMBERS ARE UP TODAY WITH THE 50s AND LOW 60s AND A LITTLE BIT OF A CHANGE IN THE WARMER DIRECTION FROM YESTERDAY, WHICH IS SETTING A TREND AND THE WEEK AHEAD WILL BE WARMER. AND DRY. AND BECAUSE IT IS CLEAR AT NIGHT, IT WILL BE COLD AS WELL WITH NUMBERS BELOW FREEZING IN SAN JOSE AND IN TERMS OF THE SNOWPACK, THIS IS WHERE WE WERE ON JANUARY 1. SO GO BACK THREE MONTHS AND IT WAS ABOUT 145% OF AVERAGE IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL SIERRA HAD 164% OF AVERAGE IN THE SOUTH 173 SO FOR ALL OF THE SIERRA, WE WERE AT 160% OF AVERAGE SNOWFALL. OF COURSE THIS WAS AFTER THE RECORD SNOWS WE HAD IN THE EARLIER PART OF THE YEAR. THAT WAS THEN. THIS IS NOW. ABOUT 55% IN THE NORTH SIERRA AND 58 AND 55% AND OVERALL WE HAVE COME DOWN TO JUST TWO THIRDS OF AVERAGE SNOWFALL IN THE SIERRA AND IT IS GETTING LATE IN THE SEASON AND NOT MUCH PROSPECT FOR US TO PICK UP MUCH SNOW CHRONOLOGICALLY AND WE DON'T GET THAT KIND OF SNOW UNTIL IT STOPS SNOWING AND HERE IN THE NEAR TERM WITH NOTHING BUT CLEAR SKIES HERE IS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND IT WILL BE SUNDAY BEFORE IT GETS SUNNY AND TUESDAY AND TUESDAY EVENING, IT IS CLEAR SKIES THE NEXT TWO DAYS. BY THE WAY, THIS HEIGHTENED PRESSURE IS BUILDING UP AND THIS IS A LOW THAT CREATED THE WIND WE HAVE A FEW DAYS AGO. SO WE DID HAVE THE WIND AND A FEW SPRINKLES. NO BIG DEAL. BUT THEN IT GOES OVER THE ROCKIES AND INTO THE MIDWEST AND IT CREATED ALL OF THOSE THUNDERSTORMS THAT PULLED THE MOISTURE UP FROM THE GULF AND CREATED THE TORNADOES THAT KILLED SEVEN PEOPLE THAT JULIET WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT. AND IF WE DIDN'T HAVE THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS, WE WOULD HAVE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WEATHER SITUATION HERE IN CALIFORNIA BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE NOTHING TO STOP THAT WARM AIR FROM WORKING ITS WAY INTO THE STATE BUT IT CAN'T GET OVER THE ROCKIES AND THAT IS WHY TORNADOES ARE SO RARE IN CALIFORNIA. FOR US WE HAVE CLEAR NIGHTS AND COLD TEMPERATURES SUNNY AND CHILLY WITH HIGHS IN THE 60s AND WARM AND DRY AHEAD WITH NOT A DROP INSIGHT AFTER MID-MARCH. THE HIGH TEMPERATURES TOMORROW WILL BE WARMER THAN TODAY IN THE MID-60s AND HERE 66. OVER 35 AT HALF MOON BAY AND PACIFICA, 63. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AFTER A CHILLY NIGHT IN THE EAST BAY AND WALNUT CREEK WILL BE AT 68 IN BRENTWOOD AT 71. UP IN THE NORTH BAY 71 DEGREES IN SANTA ROSA AND WE ARE LOOKING AT TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 60s AS WELL FOR THE NORTH BAY. AND UP TO LAKEPORT AND CLEAR LAKE HERE YOU SEE 70. THE EXTENDED FORECAST, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THINGS TO BE SUNNY AND WARM FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR AND THE READINGS WILL BE IN THE 60s ALTHOUGH IN A DAY OR SO IT WILL BE 70 IN SAN JOSE TOWARDS THE LATTER HALF OF THE WEEK AND TUESDAY IS THE WARMEST DAY OF THE WEEK FROM THE INLAND EAST BAY AREAS AND 70s THE NEXT TWO DAYS AND ALONG THE COAST IT WILL
