I've made two videos on the topic of weapons the best weapons in each game highlighting the utility and ease of access of certain weapons making them a godsend right out the gate and another the strongest weapons in each game making note of the raw power and might and Stat boosts provided by them those videos were sick and talking about awesome weapons was a fun time with the hundreds and hundreds of weapons across the over 30 years of Fire Emblem it is no surprise though that some weapons forged from the brains of intelligence systems ended up being disappointing downright detrimental and complete waste of resources this video highlights the low lights of fire emblems weapons and why these particular weapons are bad gleeper Sacred Stones disappointing Legendary Weapons pop up every now and then in Fire Emblem but few feel as lacking as Sacred Stones is gleep near this dark tone features an impressive 23 might the highest of any weapon in the game and gives plus five skill when equipped with a base hit of 80 the same as the most accurate dark Tome flux so how how could this weapon be bad two reasons first it's the only legendary weapon in the game to not be effective against Monsters so while a 20 might weapon like garm gets doubled to 40 sacred weapons being doubled might instead of tripled gleer might remains at 23 what's worse though gle's absolutely massive at 20 we without body Rings both Yuan and null have eight Constitution as a promoted Druid or summoner meaning they lose 12 points of speed just just by picking this thing up even a Siege T like Eclipse only weighs 12 weight this absolutely massive book is the heaviest weapon in the game by far the only thing you're doubling with this is a zero speed intuned and without being able to on-shot most enemies gleeper is a relic that should have stayed in Grotto's treasure room Luna Sacred Stones the bad news for dark Mages and Sacred Stones doesn't just stop at their Capstone spell the incredibly overpowered Luna from fe7 got heavily Nerf in f8 that it's bordering on useless going from 95 hit all the way down to 50 meant that the spell once meant to provide guaranteed damage was now missing more often than not to make matters worse most enemies in fe8 had extremely low resistance and unlike fe7 with its Valkyries and Sage bosses fe8 featured very few enemies that even used anima magic meaning the Magic Triangle isn't going to help your accuracy either Summoners were really good in Sacred Stones but it sure as hell was not because of dark magic the steel axe binding blade axes are Fire Emblem bandits' favorite weapons and the steel axe is a pretty popular one in binding blade eventually the steel axe would get threatening but if you've ever played Fire Emblem 6 you might remember this acts as that weapon that can never hit anything while almost every weapon has lower hit in fe6 compared to every other Fe game the steel axe is particularly egregious at 50 hit and 15 weight for 15 less hit and five more weight than an iron axe all you're getting is three more might the significantly lower hit hit and speed for such little payoff certainly puts the fe6 steel axe in the Armory of Shame slim swords but especially intellus a weapon introduced in fe4 as a lightweight option between Iron and Steel and might the slim sword has never been above three Bas might in any future iteration you might not remember it because it was so bad but the slim sword existed in every single F game from genology through radiant Dawn in every game since fe4 until Engage The Iron Sword is at least two might stronger is light enough to never weigh down any sword wielder has more uses and is cheaper it can potentially have The Fringe use case in F6 to provide more accurate hits to seal a kill where you don't want to risk RNG screwage its weaker might is also less of an issue in GBA simply due to enemy bulk being less than intellus and to be fair the slim sword in engage was given a significant Dodge stat boost to encourage its use as a defensive anti- crit tool that's the only version that does this the slim sword offers the player a measly 5% crit an incredibly small amount that will rarely be reliable but does admittedly allow players of the Japanese version of Path of Radiance to exploit an underflow glitch to get maximum crit so that's something it technically sees a second use as well if you equip Ike with one before chapter 313 he becomes weak enough to get killed by a heavily invested Dawn Brigade unit neither of these are normal reasons why a weapon should be useful over another but that's it it's inexcusably terrible in Path of Radiance and in radiant Dawn in fe9 Mia starts with one but literally doesn't need it as she also does not get weighed down by Iron swords and has high enough skill where the marginal difference in hit rate wouldn't matter in fe10 the slim sword is even weaker than a bronze sword and exists to Nerf elinia in chapter 2-p by giving her one when she like Mia is not even weighed down by Iron swords these swords are actively detrimental and are for some reason more expensive don't knife Path of Radiance speaking of weapons that weaken their wielders were revisiting knives in Path of Radiance for some reason the devs thought thieves shouldn't use swords and pre-prom stages don't deserve a staff rank instead it invented the knife the only weapon weaker than a slim sword at two might one range and locked to the lowest strength class in the game you eventually got stronger variants in the form of a four might dagger and an eight might armor effective stiletto but unless your vul is incredibly strength blessed you're still stuck dealing single-digit damage to most enemies and it's even worse if you're trying to use so or Ashera forbid a sage in melee with a knife daggers would eventually become incredibly powerful one to two range weapons but the humble Path of Radiance knife isn't a weapon that belongs in the battlefield the double bow specifically in Path of Radiance another Path of Radiance invention is the srank double bow not in the sense of double might or crit but in range yes a four range locked bow not two four not 3 four just four having high range is always useful because of the extra tiles you can attack from but why for the bow is also limited only to snipers like the long bow so no Warriors or paladins can use it either only Ralph or shinon it's weak enough that you will probably need a crit to one round any Target and with such an awkward range there's nothing in the game you'll be able to Counterattack on enemy phase one Niche use of the double bow is to let you shoot through walls as Path of Radiance increased the number of tiles a wall counts as to prevent archers from shooting through them like they could in other games unfortunately the only m with walls on it after you get the double bow is the very map you get it on so even this use case is basically pointless thoron radiant Dawn present in every game except guid in Shadows of Valencia and the GBA games thoron represents all things Thunder magic wants to be high might reasonable accuracy maybe some crit but radiant Dawn absolutely ruined the spell for an srank in Thunder magic something only Ilana or pelus are likely to even get you get a spell with nine might 11 weight 65 hit and five crit keep in mind radiant Dawn is a game in which weapon weight is reduced by strength enemies have reasonably High Resistance and even though you deal triple damage to dragons that's still nowhere near enough to one round them even assuming you hit or double but for one of the most recognizable spells in Fire Emblem thoron deserved so much better than what radiant Dawn gave it gunga Gap Fire Emblem Fates Fire Emblem Fates was Notorious for making its high rank weapons nearly unusable to try to balance the lack of durability between silver lances that add stacking debuffs and legendary weapons that have your stats it's hard to pick just one but Ginga Gap is probably the worst of the bunch for an aank magic toome you get a weapon with 15 might and 65 accuracy that halves your magic after you attack with it until your next attack considering in Fates the majority of your damage comes from your stats and not your weapon having a next attack debuff is bad enough but this applies until you attack again no matter how long you wait or what weapon you attack with making your Mage borderline unusable until they attack again is horrible and with the only upside of this tone being slightly more base might with pretty poor accuracy there are so many other TOS you should use if you need player phase burst damage use lightning to double if you want a toone that doesn't debuff your speed use a forged Thunder tone the high power of Ginga Gap is incredibly situational and is usually not worth the massive debuff a workaround for this is setting up your Mage to dual strike to reset their magic stat but you're micromanaging a lot just to deal with a shitty side effect the hammer three houses one of the most classic Fire Emblem weapons the hammer has been in almost every single game and has had its share of its ups and downs but perhaps no version seems as outclassed as its three houses appearance at 10 m 15 weight and 60 hit the hammer is quite heavy and inaccurate by three hous standards its triple armor Effectiveness is still useful but even on that side of things it ends up falling into an awkward place because it's not the only armor effective axe it's the middle of three the mace has less damage but is way more accurate and significantly lighter and the axe of ukan vasera or the axe of zolan come early in part two with significantly better stats across the board at a time when hitting a rank and axes isn't going to be that uncommon considering it's a requirement for wyvern Lord one of the best classes in the game and even if you don't have either of those you can always use a combat art like Helm splitter for double effective damage with a stronger weapon so there's very little reason to use a standard hammer in three houses the master Lance engage last on our list I wanted to include was at least one weapon from engage and Leaf's Master Lance has to be it people familiar with thracia might recognize the master Lance as a one to2 range Brave Lance and that's basically what it is an engage but making the brave effect player phase only and having its base might to7 while retaining the horrible 55 hit and 16 weight of the thy original makes it a worse than useless weapon for one main reason adaptability because the master Lance is an emblem weapon you will only have access to it while engaged with Leaf engaging with Leaf also activates his special skill adaptability which makes the game automatically choose what it considers the best weapon end quote whenever you get attacked the exact calculations aren't important but what is important is that the game will always prefer a weapon that can counter and will always aim for a triangle Advantage even though that literally doesn't matter on enemy phase and engage so long as you aren't getting broken what this means is that the master l a player phase utility weapon will be equipped on enemy phase more often than any other weapon if you're being attacked at range by a sword your unit will likely weigh themselves down with 16 might miss their attacks with 55 hit do little damage if they only hit for seven might and potentially get themselves doubled because you get no choice in what you equip with when engaged with leaf and even if you take all your bad weapons off so you can only have one weapon you can't turn these emblem weapons off once you hit the bond rank to unlock them they are there forever the master Lance might not be Leaf's biggest issue in engage but it sure does not help can you imagine how good Leaf would be if he wasn't bogged down by these weird skills proing all the time and that will do it for today's video on the worst weapons we could think of in Fire Emblem there are probably a bunch more weapons that we could list Fire Emblem Fat's srank weapons are also notoriously bad silver weapons have these unfortunate trade-offs for stats I'm sure there are some other engage weapons Venom weapons are kind of a meme and I already talked about them before but they would arguably make a good spot in at least some of the games like in Shadows of valentia but these are the weapons that we think are just uniquely terrible with that said let me know if you have any weapons that you think are very very bad that we didn't mention and don't forget to leave a like on this video too after you comment as that helps boost this video in people's recommended feed and with that being said I'll see you in the next one deuces
