Finishing My Art Ideas #2

[Music] oh my God hey it's me today I'm doing another video finishing a bunch of my random art ideas this is the second video I've done like this I guess I'm gonna keep doing this until I've finished all of my random art ideas it might be the first time in my life all my ideas are finished finish or will I just keep adding more ideas and it'll be just an ongoing project for the rest of my life if you missed the last time I did this basically I have a list and I type in art ideas that come to my mind some of them are weird some of them are weirder we're gonna try to do them all I spent a lot of time in the last video reading through probably the first half of the list I'll pick another couple from that list there are no rules of how to complete these art ideas I can paint them on a box I can paint them on a squishy do a digital drawing of them it's more about just the idea let's get into it now alrighty so I'm back at my super beautiful deal list maybe I need to design this or bedazzle it or something it wasn't originally intended for public viewing but here we are looking at it the one idea I knew I had to do today was the blob one a Big Blob and a small blob that are friends the small blob has big hair and the Big Blob has two hairs brilliant okay brilliant I'm gonna make this dream come true on my iPad jumping right into this with a basic lob form oh yes I know the blob form is very Advanced I am quite experienced with blob Anatomy I'm sure you'll get there one day my friend for the Big Blob I'm thinking I want quite the rotund kind of fellow complete with several luscious rolls of extra blobness oh yeah and an ice cream cone the smaller blob was a little bit trickier I tried a couple different things I'm not as happy with little blob as I was with potato oh yeah his name's potato I wanted to have them standing outside of an ice cream parlor I do want to keep it simple back there but just enough where you know what's going on after cleaning up the sketch a little bit little blob got another minor face transplant no big deal I'm going to start in with the color now I do have kind of a tried and true go-to style for my digital art it's wonderful well okay wonderful maybe a little exaggeration it's good it's fine but today I want to try something a little different I want to go for like watercolor kind of style weird things are happening for example the ground has suddenly become liquid why is that why is it waving I'm trying to put some effort into the background it's a big Temptation for me to just leave the background blank or solid colored or boring but when I do take the time to make a thoughtful background miracles happen and it's beautiful and I hear what is that instrument with the strings I hear the harps I like the art so much more but that's it I can't take any more right now I'm bored of the background already let's get to the characters I decided on Green for the small blob and I didn't realize that by making this Choice something very interesting was going to happen in um it's broccoli I've just created broccoli as soon as I saw it the broccoli standing there I thought oh not good not good but then it kind it counted me and I realized there's a bit of a connection here between potato and broccoli we got a vegetable theme going two Health Foods kind of potatoes aren't that healthy but you know eating junk food as if this wasn't already a highly sophisticated concept we've just taken it over the top in the realm of Enlightenment welcome my fellow philosophers once I had enough color down to kind of go off of I removed the sketch lines all together I want to go lineless where did the Big Blob with the little hair and the small blob with a big hair idea come from it came from a real life experience like so many of my other intriguing Concepts remember this Jewel one day Jordan and I were driving through a parking lot and we saw two boys one was very tall with a buzz cut the other was very short with a big old pile of hair and I said that would be a great character friendship I guess Jordan liked the idea and held on to it because later on he ended up just adding it to my art idea list the ice cream parlor idea comes from the fact that the two boys that we saw were coming out of a Sweet Frog which is a frozen yogurt place I changed it to an ice cream parlor because cones are a little easier for blob Hands to Hold also ice cream is just cuter but no hate on Sweet Frog big fan Sweet Frog the fact that the Big Blob is actually a potato I just made that up I drew him and immediately I knew you know sometimes you just know I just knew he was a potato now this little green thing on the other hand it took a lot of exploring to understand this being eventually I realized that she is a girl originally I was going to keep both the blobs boys but the concept statement mentions nothing of them both being boys so she is a girl and her name is broccoli broccoli broccy Hallie Cali now this style of drawing I will say was a lot more time consuming than my normal digital art style but I did enjoy all the layering and blending it was kind of fun I added a pink bow into Cali's hair just for extra cuteness Factor also I felt like we needed to break up that green a little bit it's strong and then my favorite part the background just kidding I hate the background I want to clean it up and refine it a little bit but I actually don't want to bring in as much detail as the characters and no it's not because I'm lazy I don't even know what lazy means I want to keep the background in the background and not take away from the main event so I'm using a little bit softer of detailing softer of colors to keep the background from becoming distracting and then there's the open sign ah let's just try not to look at that too much okay is my handwriting bad yes my handwriting is bad moving on other thing that we should try to avoid noticing potatoes left arm it looks a little like a saggy boob this happens sometimes with blobs okay their arms can kind of take that shape but we all know that this is just his arm okay potato does not have one enormous saggy boob I think this came out really cute I like it a lot I love the style of it I'm glad that I tried something new I actually really enjoyed making this it was just an overall positive experience besides the background the handwriting and the mildly suggestive blob arm so I believe it's time to travel onto the next art idea and the next idea I chose says ugly cute simply worded but oh it's a complicated challenge I'm heading straight to my comfort zone on this one squishies opened one of my bins happens to be good old Animals number two there's always Animals number two no it's not I don't know what I'm talking about took a gander and then aha it happened again the moment you know you just know I have found you it's a sloth holding a heart with a stage six neck grip in case you're not clear on the ugly cute concept my goal here is to create something that is both ugly and cute at the same time which is very hard to accomplish but I'm gonna try starting by sanding my squishy gotta make sure the foam is prepped for paint now about this rib I'm adding some puffy paint in there to act as glue once that's all dry I'm applying a quick white base coat so I can start my design bring in the color the thing about the ugly cute concept that makes it a challenge is that I think most ugly cute things actually kind of occur by accident some of my characters may fall into that category some are just ugly some are just cute or maybe there's a rare one that's both at the same time other examples of ugly cute um bush babies maybe I've never actually tried to make something ugly cute before but I'm thinking the best strategy for this is going to be choose some cute elements choose some ugly elements and then put them together so I've started with this very interesting color scheme here I'm turning the sloth into a monster and I'm adding some pink fuzzy Stripes to him so orange and pink pink is cute oranges well no offense lovers of orange I myself do like orange it has its place in the world and in the rainbow however I do feel like of all the colors orange gives ugly Vibes wow I just a little just my opinion I also feel like these colors together they're kind of loud and obnoxious and they almost Clash but then again they almost look kind of cool together once I got him all striped the real challenge Begins the face I sketched out my idea here and then I'm going in with the painting I decided on some bright green eyes I thought a pop of green would look really cool against these colors but also be slightly creepy I've also made one of the eyes intentionally larger than the other so I don't know that's something and oh boy here's the outline This Is Where We Make It or Break It oh no I've gone too far I think we're leaning a little too ugly so I ditched the eyebrows because those are not doing anything for me then cleaned up the outline a little bit hopefully that helps then I added some nice blush to the cheeks which I thought may bring a little life to it we're still leaning a little too ugly for me so I added freckles freckles are cute right and last I'm painting in the heart to match the eyes I do feel like I chose the perfect squishy for something that is ugly cute only problem is that face well this was my attempt at ugly cute I think I got the ugly down I mean okay I actually love the colors the fuzziness of the stripes but the face you know that bug eye that under bite I don't know if I nailed this one I'm a little undecided I knew this was going to be a challenge if I could do it all over I may have designed the face a little differently he's got no brain cells but it's not bad for what I was trying to do I've really been having fun finishing off some of my art ideas so I I hope you guys are liking this I'd love to continue moving down my list
