Finally A New Animal Crossing Inspired Life Sim - Hokko Life Gameplay Part 1

well hello you wonderful humans and welcome to hoco life this is a brand new uh life sim that just released on steam early access and a lot of people have been mentioning this game and i've been excited to check it out uh so it is available on steam early access i have not played it yet we're gonna basically be doing our first look at the game right now so i do hope everybody enjoys today's playthrough and thank you so much for coming to hang out with me today you're wonderful wonderful humans mohawk i'm digging the mohawk maybe we'll go with that um but that being said i do hope everybody's having a great day thank you for coming to spend some time with me we got a lot of things happening over the next couple days uh we've got the new ark survival generations update coming out today uh supposedly so we'll see how that goes um we're gonna be covering that quite a bit so expect a lot of ark survival evolved content and obviously if y'all enjoy uh hoco life make sure to slap that like button and uh hopefully we all enjoy it of course i'm sure we're taking over our grandfather's farm i like that it uh is very reminiscent of the first the very very first og back in the day animal crossing and you know what i kind of like the ice the art style of it i'm not gonna lie so far you know the controls are what you expect them to be so that's that's always a good sign i suppose yeah very reminiscent of the first animal crossing we arrive at night in the rain our future unknown of course the shop is locked i mean it's the middle of the night what's with this tree intriguing abigail how are you doing emily colleen megan what's going on we should probably go into the one building that's lit up but curiosity has okay yep never mind i'm no longer curious i like you are what do we got i don't see no coffee used to be quite lively here not too long ago but folks started moving away off to make their money in the city i imagine or it was all the talking animals uh we did have some good times though didn't we uh where are you from oh i didn't even get to see where i was from i clicked the button accidentally how come you ended up here i fell asleep question mark on the train oh dear oh dear that was the last one for a while i'm afraid of course so we fell asleep on a train and now we're stuck here forever uh they don't run often anymore oh no you know i actually can't remember the last time i saw someone use the station here let alone saw a train so basically what they're saying is we're kidnapped the theory the protagonist died in the train oh you know what maybe this is one of those ash ketchum things don't suppose you've got a place to stay absolutely not sir absolutely not does that mean so we're gonna get trapped here and then we're gonna owe an elephant like 15 billion dollars aren't we well now that is unfortunate what happened to that old guest room of yours omar now that you mention it i could let you stay in it for fifteen to figure out what to do about it i bet we're gonna learn how to uh chop some trees stay here for as long as you need thank you alma um oh you can also take a nap to relax which is fantastic uh just morning chungus get a good night's sleep i take it this blasted thing fell over in the storm last night is blocking the path into town you tried dragging it but it won't budge you got a big old elephant if an elephant can't move it what do you think my scrawny butt is going to do i've gotten tired myself out can you take this axe and see if you can sort it out thank you i will take that axe you have a shovel how do we how do we exit a question uh oh the way the person's run is funny why are you making fun of people man why can't you just like let npcs live their lives you know uh the today the residents will be pleased if you're hanging around for a bit you might want to go and say hi introduce yourself to the other residents that kind of thing it's so quiet in town i'm sure they'd love to meet a new face uh i'd best be getting back to the shop the axe it's mine now well you keep it thank you uh so one thing that's really cool about this game is you can actually create pretty much anything you want as far as furniture and decorations go it's got like a really cool building system which i think is interesting and yes it is only available on pc at the moment there's a total of 24 villagers all of which we can get on the village uh so you aren't limited to a certain number and you can expand pretty much as much as you want and uh looks like we get a sign here it's oleander yes customization we got walls and roofs we can actually customize their houses too that is nifty i like that it basically has a lot of the things that we've wanted in animal crossing but have never and probably will never get but it is also you know quite a bit smaller than animal crossing it's like animal crossing beats story of seasons the junkyard baby ah some seaweed at least this doesn't look like somebody diarrhea all over the beach get like a junk pile here is it coming to the switch i don't think so i have no idea though you got to remember for like an indie developer it is a lot just to you know like make a game on one version let alone paying all the fees and stuff you have to do to get onto a console you are one lanky elephant oh my god you have a human body and longer than a draft's neck isn't that bad man some haters up in here neck shaming god locked oh it's a workshop you could do your own furniture on this game with another yeah i know that's it's pretty exciting actually i think that's gonna be really cool which button did i press to do the thing there we go it's q by the way what do you have against giraffes giraffe shaming out here oh yes this game is early access on steam um i do not know if it's going to be releasing on any other console i imagine if it is it won't be for quite a long time but it is early access thing this is our first time playing i really don't i know about as much about it as all of you i really like to try i didn't watch any gameplay of this before i played it it's like try and go in and give my first impressions of a game as much as possible you think you can harvest those yellow flowers you're probably right can i oh maybe if i take my hands there we go okay look at that butterfly over there hey nosa how are you doing should i maybe not become like the destroyer of worlds and deforest everything it seems like a pretty not good thing to do there are fishes over there maybe we can replant one go into our inventory and stick this in her hands hey sprinkle some of them bad boys or not i'm assuming i need better hands or like a so there's no terraforming in the game for those that are curious let's go talk to our landlord is this game i believe it's 20 bucks i'm assuming i need a shovel and a hoe and you know the traditional things oh hello good sir ma'am oma tell me what should i do oh no we're piss off i want to pee all over this bushes it's no wonder residents have moved away really yeah one grumpus you know what it ain't gonna change much just moping around these things i reckon if we based on our moves my theory is they're all monkeys and costumes that's potential it's a potential thing don't worry happens to the best of us what can i do for your benches please fixing up the town are we great i can definitely help out would be nice to make this place a bit more less run down let's see i can whip up some benches no problem although you know i'm all out of wood i got some wood these benches are gonna be the key to success though like people will be rolling in on the train and they're like oh look at those benches out there and then they'll sit on them and then they'll be stuck here forever how do you get on i got you some benches homie you know what why don't you take those and find some nice spots in the town center for them eh let me know when you're done i got you visitors i could certainly do with more customers you never how about you cold call some people about their extended fishmongering warranty because you're gonna be cutting up some fish here at some point i can tell by that knife or something i don't know tag is a human after all we've been trying to reach you but i swear to god i swear to god i keep getting the police after you once that's the worst so i had a thought we had a really nice beach here it used to be popular with folks who like to fish a lot of trash and seaweed has washed up over recent months and no one's gotten to clean it up do you think you could go and collect all the rubbish over there and bring it back i can throw it away with the trash here let's do it baby we just pick up the garbage [Music] oh they're walking everywhere and everybody spent like half the time we were there just picking up garbage and wishing they would die and i was like well uh she's like i hate them amanda joanne thank you so much for into my butt please [Music] thank you no grass tufts oh well i didn't want that log anyways i guess it's like fiber nintendo e3 looking at all them remakes yeah no new games ever nintendo yeah let's water isn't that nice i bet we can put a tree on a cliff too look how close it is to the water it's kind of sad how excited we are about a simple place where a tree would actually grow deforestation once again i should be getting the new telescope in today i won't have clear skies for like 10 months to use it but i do get to like look at it which is pretty sweet i feel like that's enough wood for now and there's only one type of wood right you know that soft wood bs ain't nobody want no soft wood i miss the astro streams me too me too they're gonna be coming back with a vengeance got a big old telescope literally almost three times the focal length of uh of the telescopes that i had been using in the last streams so we can get like real up close to some space things like we'll actually be able to photograph galaxies like extremely clear up to about 40 million light years away can i dig up stumps oh you know what let's find out i assume that's what shovel boy is for boom baby [Music] oh no oh no hey [Music] be stumpify [Music] how did i get into astrophotography in the first place the community on well i woke so i tend to go on weird things on well not weird so i used to i found stuff about it on youtube long story short and then i started talking about it during live streams and the community was like if you don't do this we're going to unsubscribe and then i so i bought a small telescope and they're like go big or go home you and that's exactly what i proceeded to do so we got a whole bunch of big telescope stuff and um now we do astrophotography live streams that's like the long story short but also incredibly accurate almost verbatim with the verbiage used too that was like directly taken from a super chat that was sent um hey there what should i do uh you don't much efficiently i don't have a fishing rod you dirty elephant [Music] plant six conifer trees and return to sally i can't believe you said the p word i've never heard you say that that was literally what the super chat said i remember it because it took me a bet i was like ah what oh no i got my telescope yesterday but i'm missing the adapter from the camera adapter to the lens that is a nightmare the adapters for astro stuff is is literally the worst part of it i just got one in that i had to wait six months for that i had to have made trees done baby let's go can't wait for those little fellas to grow into big old trees more wood for my creation [Music] and you know it'll look nice too yeah whatever hey have you checked with moss to see if he's got any more town improvement ideas well let's do that your six-year-old is obsessed with space it's a good obsession to have i cannot wait to do things with the kiddos this year unfortunately it was entirely cloudy basically all winter so i couldn't do anything with like everly or caden like while they were awake so now i have to keep them up super duper late to do stuff with me what you got moss chungus is here to save the day i was having a good old think about things we could do to freshen up the town see there was a gardening program i watched and they were using uh buckets oh yeah buckets buckets but it's planters and i thought maybe that's something we could use to add a splash of color to the town i'm sure sally could whip up some nice little planters look at this we ain't got no planters and an animal crossing i mean we do but nothing that we can customize i've only seen one type of flower around here take these seeds they'll take a few days to grow but we'll get a bunch of different flowers that way those are pretty hearty you just need to pop them in the ground and they'll grow by themselves baby all right don't need to water them or anything what kind of flowers are these that currently lives in someone's attic don't judge me in my attic self bat have a wonderful day i i'm guessing your character's about to scream buckets hey i'm straight to the point kind of kind of person you know look at that grass can i shovel it up boom what yo elephant boy look what i can do did i dig up dirt what is this hey i like that we directly absorb it through our butt like there's probably more efficient ways we could do it we got yellow flower seeds purple flower seeds shazam i wonder if we can get like color mutations similar to animal crossing hey erin how are you doing um yeah this tree is kind of jacking up my entire life right now gotta kill it [Music] poor man just trying to learn about telescopes and nightbot ruins his whole life uh you can start with a camera and just a telephoto lens it'll be the cheapest way to get into it so i guess we'll do a whole patch of purple flowers it's getting dark there's got to be a quicker way to oh there is indeed a quicker way how did i do that your prison wallet is like the tardis it's bigger on the inside oh no oh look the flowers like rotate different directions too so that way it doesn't always look exactly the same the trees do that too oh that's so cool i'm sorry but one thing that really frustrates me with animal crossing is everything always looks the same with like the flowers and the bushes and the trees and everything but there's like some some changes to the directions which is i think is actually pretty nice or does that by the way wonder how this game is with a controller it feels very much like it's meant to be used with a controller i suppose we could find out you know i bet it is where is my controller [Music] what do we got oh i just pooped out some wood uh case casey thank you so much for the the end of your line you'll alter what kind of fish are attracted try experimenting with different kinds of bait to see what fish are more easily caught and the rate combination is part of the fun i'd say tell me about fishing well then let's see it's not too tricky i'd say once you cast your line out be patient and wait for a fish to start nibbling don't be too hasty but when the fish takes a bite
