Fighting a 1000+lb Monster Sawfish for Hours

I went out fishing my good buddy max and our goal was to find giant schools of migrating baitfish along the beach there were huge tarpon and other large predators feeding on these schools and identicals long to find one big pot a tarp indeed giant pod did your good good good good okay I'll tell you to do okay even right there leave them right there or jet into quick everybody a little bit real a little bit real them a little bit did they're going they're going for they're going for it did they eat it looking for it's ready reel it reel it reel it now they didn't eat it dude they're looking for it recast it right now tree cats a realtor you can reconstitute hats out in front - okay just a straight over here past it cats cats cats feel out your left reel reel it reel it stop stop right there oh you bum he turned away yeah all right we spooked them slanted Rome that's tarpon liked it see I'm still black tips everywhere how you started going left yeah he's going left straight towards my baby now we're in the real 50 tippers are you gonna right past my bait right now are you seen cruising left right there there there there there's an instant brake you gotta let immediate yeah I did now I can't let him eat it you got to sit right away you gotta set it right away all right just it coming right at us right here on the right throw it right here think my gosh do it in front of him in front of them oh yeah oh yeah he's right underneath it dude while we were fishing for sharks max hooked a jackal ball and we decided to keep it for bait at that moment we realized that we needed more bait for shark fishing so we decided to go offshore to a nearby wreck and look for blue runners we came out here to catch bait for blacktip sharks the black tips are super thick right now which is kind of crazy it's summertime but anyways throughout the spot with a glass artist for the bait is and we just saw a bunch of guys and gosh you know I just can't not come out here and not try to catch one I got a spinning rod it's gonna be absolutely miserable let's give a shot oh gosh there yes there is why am i doing look at the look blue look at the scarves [Applause] ah you guys stop driving you're gonna cut me off Maxie help get over here get over him took the ride I'm done dude help me help me Paul I'm pulled up or I put off pull right up I can't move my god alright catch a nice humble black tip now oh I love catching go ahead no not spent a week so I've regained my string from the Goliath fighting those things on spin is no walk in the park but now we're fishing for Black Caps you got our bait max is fishing for snook and earlier we saw about 5200 block fish so we know they're here I got a blue runner on my line I see his first buddy on your bait no I don't know what he's doing it's right there though look at that a shark do you know what this is oh my gosh Oh a dead bait on the bottom there should be a shark yeah I think it's a ray Haynes all right yeah okay you come here what a weird fish fight not weird this is weird man it's not sticking on the bottom dragon now you're dragging he's dragging us yes oh my gosh ahna you know it could be a hammerhead nude like that is going slow man you think he doesn't care you know I might be a stingray then dude hey yeah that's a stinger I did good thing it's gonna be it's cute if it's a rough tail I'm gonna freak out it's what a rough tail I've never caught one before a rock to a rough tail i rattle toastin right it's like one way really do you dream fish of mine are they like in this area largest thing Ram that you can catch from Florida or just in North America yeah yeah oh you haven't even seen this thing dude I can already tell you I'm outmatched this is a big black tip here I know we're missing the Goliath River that's not you're not supposed to do that wait is that the short rod that we were fighting the group round yeah oh my did ya we literally hooked almost caught a 500-pound grouper on that yeah this fish is way bigger than that dude I'm telling you this is something weird we got one little problem right now that ten in our way lightning matte coefficient helping yeah whatever this is up before that comes our way tell you one thing this thing is big dude I'm just having trouble look at look at that I can't even move up there's some trouble thing I can't even move them it was insane but look at that any unbelievable I mean he's kind of stand down like good vehicle I get a dead bait on the bottom it's not a shark hunter percent it's not a shark driving us around towing the boat he's got us in this current what we call a CMOS folks we don't know what it is yet and this is the beautiful fish in the ocean never know what you're gonna hook out here yeah go go go go let's go that's the left two years ago when I was with John B and lunker's II kept chanting Alex Parekh we hooked extremely rare sawfish oh dude I'm starting to believe that two years later a rare fish like that has just happened again you might have fun on there it seems almost a thousand pounds bro I don't I don't dude look I hooked that Goliath through and I could stop him who's for 500 pounds yeah this thing I can't move it yeah now that you say that eight I'm actually starting to think this might be a saw fish dude the head chicks are insanely violent yeah then that dude that's probably sophis he's yeah this thing that would make a lot of sense actually I mean it's so heavy do this dragging the boat wherever it wants to yep I'm almost like I'd almost bet money that it's a sawfish dude it's probably a big one - yeah we're in a 17-foot boat we could have a fish on its longer than it could be 17 18 feet if we see him I got a call at W cedar yeah we gotta follow all the snips yeah all the steps guys endangered species - ancient fish dude look at that that is ridiculous a dinosaur that is ridiculous literally a Donna this thing's close to a thousand times it's crazy yeah that's right a little bit but apparent like like you didn't know any better you'd think you were snagged oh yeah and then also did it shirt dumping you like right now I got cut like that don't think you think if you think you have you're stuck in the bottom lose and then all of a sudden just does that come on Josh show us this thing show us what this thing is it's coming up what is see him I see him I see him I see I see color hold on he's coming there you go there you go pump that oh oh my god all this dude you just do the size of that thing dude all right I got a call at the ABC that's confirm that thing is smaller than this poem this is a hobble how big this boat that saw looks like two feet thick that's so dangerous guys to get closer than that thing could one second the kid you got okay so this is the most dangerous fish by far the most dangerous fish in the world to him dude this thing is buoy 19 dude I knew those headshakes were from us Amish man nothing is too dang strong come on there is dude that thing is huge Oh can't move him can move these over a thousand are you going yeah I'm trapped travel whatever way whichever way when upon whatever way you [Music] five away drive away drive away drive away drive away drive away gosh yeah I don't like this it's 13 feet deep in here so this might be a rock wall ah gosh right there yes well okay take me in here five feet take me a TV in this way I got a minute it's a really delicate situation he's gonna go towards the back of the boat right here yeah I'm jumping out bro okay okay I need to go further down the beach get the boat away from this I think it is too that's it didn't like that angle gosh that hurts it wasn't until the following day that I realized the pain of losing this fish I mean in the moment I was like but then just it's settled in and I think I went back and looked at the footage guys and I think my not failed the FG not I should have tied a PR nut but that F G knot that went through the guides probably good I don't know 50 times and just wore down if the PR not is a much stronger not in the FG 9 oh they sound the same the very different one the requires a tool one of them doesn't and you know the reality was I wasn't fishing for something this day I wasn't trying to kick something out over a thousand pounds just this is what happens fishing the ocean you never know what you're gonna hook and unfortunately but not just wore down and that last you know as pulling as hard as I could that last second you took a run he shook his rostrum and just like that was gone I was over and I'll tell you what I mean like I said I was definitely not the right tackle for a fish of that size at that caliber but there's really awesome to see one of those again I'm it's such a rare fish so I mean I'm very grateful to have that experience but that fishing guys to lose a fish like that I always tell people I remember the fish I lost more than that fish like cod and that is one that's never gonna leave my mind so until I see one next time I'm always gonna have that fish in my head but I hope you guys go this video make sure you guys check out max McKinley from maxxtow charters I couldn't have gotten as far as a day without him so check him out link in the description also guys make sure you turn on your post notifications if you guys want to watch more of our videos post some kitchens we'll help you out make sure you guys hit that like button few guys enjoyed watch this video it really helps out just tap that like fun right there thanks for watching and we'll see you next time black tip h fishing is brought to you by Rob togs designed for you created for the outdoors and sudoc or nutrition [Music] [Music]
