hello everyone happy lunar new year and welcome back to the channel i'm julie and i am back with a brand new feng shui video i thought the most apropos time to bring you a brand new feng shui video is on the first day of the year of the tiger in this video we are talking about feng shui in your front door how to attract wealth and prosperity into your home this year [Music] the feng shui of the main entry door is one of the most crucial aspects when it comes to feng shui this is where she enters your home the front door represents the heart of the home because this is where good chi or bad chi comes to enter as you might know from my previous videos qi is really just a universal energy of life it's an energetic life source that really permeates everything that it touches everything that it surrounds and everything that is surrounding your home and your space the goal of feng shui is to welcome positive qi into your home allow it to slowly course its way through take its time and be able to permeate through this space thus affecting all of the users and all of your family members in a positive and uplifting way there are so many ways she is able to do this but getting inside your front door is half the battle so you must tackle what's happening outside the door first before she enters your space there's almost nothing in feng shui that's as critical as your front door that's because it's called the mouth of chi the way your front door looks the size the shape the surroundings everything influences the quality of chi that enters your home thus affecting your prosperity and the good positive energy that you bring into your heart and your space let's start with the basics and all the important tips that you must remember and resolve a beautiful home is really a magnet for money wealth and prosperity they say curb appeal equals she appeal so if you feel as though the exterior surroundings of your front door are really beautiful she will believe that too you are attracted to beauty she is attracted to beauty so the more beautiful your outdoor surrounding space is the more chi will be attracted to come and enter your space so it's really important to remember that the quality of energy outside the house directly determines the quality of energy going inside the house [Music] get ready to take some notes because we're going to go outside and take a look at your front door [Music] you want to check to see that the paint is in good shape there's no wear there's no tear there's no chips there's no peeling if you see any discrepancies of course the first line of defense is to get that paint brush out you want to check to see all areas of chipped crack or peeling paint so the paint looks fresh and brand new you want to double check that your porch is swept clean no dust no debris no falling leaves no dirt no grime no residue one of the best ways to usher in a brand new year is to make sure your home and your front door entry is in clean and sparkling shape do you have any outdoor plants that are surrounding your front entry door are they lush vibrant and healthy if they look a little sad and lackluster make sure you replace them with healthy brand new plants to usher in better qi [Music] let's check the lighting around your front door are the bulbs bright is the fixture clean have you been meaning to swap out that wall sconce or that pendant light you want to make sure that the encasement is dust free and the glass looks sparkling clean is the door mat in good shape does it need a good cleaning if not definitely replace the door mat since that's the last thing you step on before you enter the home you also want to make sure that there is no visible trash can or container close by that you throw your garbage in trash equals negative chi and we don't want any of that negative chi permeating the space [Music] let's move on to that main entry door does that front door look auspicious does it feel positive favorable and uplifting here's how you can tell the size of the main door should always be the grandest one in your home it can't be too small which won't allow good fortune to enter the home how do you know what's too small well if the tallest person in the home has to crouch down to enter the space then it's definitely too small you also want to make sure that the front door isn't too large this will cause the family to lose their good fortune having it slip away if you have double doors only use one side as your main point of entry and exit it's really all about finding the right balance solid doors are more preferred than glass doors these front entry doors should be made of wood or some other strong durable natural material [Music] it should never be entirely made out of glass or this symbolizes the fragility and precious nature of the family and offers no protection for the home from external factors remember that feng shui is all about symbolism and how it affects your energy and mental state let's talk about the best paint colors for your front door once you give your front door a good going over you want to make sure that it's dust dirt debris free you want to make sure that there's no cracks in it you want to make sure that there's no dings or scratches if you want you can repaint the entire thing and give it a fresh makeover the best front door colors are the ones that correlate with the compass directions to figure out the direction of your front door you want to stand at your front door facing out and using a compass take note of what direction the house is facing my home is facing south and as you can see from this colored bagua map the best color for a south facing home is red to help determine the best colors for your main entry door you can also cross reference my latest video best exterior house paint colors to help boost curb appeal i have so many exact color matches that will help guide you according to the direction your house faces [Music] front doors shall open inward to a wide open space instead of a cramped narrow corridor you want to have ample space from the entry walking through as you do from the inside walking out what if you don't have this condition a simple feng shui cure if the door opens outward change the hinge position if the foyer is tiny or dim or both hang a bright light above the door and keep the lights turned on for at least a few hours each evening if the space feels dark and cramped no matter what time of day it is leave the light on all day led energy efficient bulbs really help to combat the electrical output if you have a diminero foyer or a dark corridor you could also use a mirror to help bounce back all of that light but remember never to place the mirror in front of your main entry door or else you're also going to reflect and bounce back all of that positive qi trying to permeate the space but of course that's going to transition into the next video which is all about your entry foyer and today we're talking about the main entry door so i want to leave this video with a really quick pop quiz let's go through these next slides and talk about what's a good entry door versus a bad entry door this door is made of solid wood do you think this is a good entry door or a bad entry door while the door is great it's made of solid wood the side light window panels has too much clear glass and that's going to affect how she enters the space it could rush in and it can rush out what about this cool modern pivot door like a door within the door do you think this is good or bad this is definitely a feng shui no no not only does feng shui guide against pivot doors but you've got multiple things happening here qi will get confused and might not even bother with your home how about this wide attractive modern door while i love the look of this modern pivot door the size of this opening is way too large and it may cause a family to lose their good fortune this is how all of your chi slips away how about this double door this is such a great example of having a large stately door and only using one side as your main source of entry what about this blue door is it good or bad again feng shui does not like glass doors so this is going to be a bad front door how about this one you've got a side light glass panel you have four little glass cut outs this is going to be another example of a bad front door there are too many glass partitions that don't feel solid or protected is this an example of a good or bad door this is a beautiful example of a solid wood door with excellent feng shui not only are there beautiful lush plants that balance out the front entry there's also symmetry in the lanterns above how about this yellow door while the solid door is an excellent example of good feng shui the side light panel is just as large as the front door so i'm going to say nix the side panel and keep the front door that's it for our front door quiz how did you
