family of god we join them we begin in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen the grace of our lord jesus christ and the love of god and the communion of the holy spirit be with you all and with your spirit our brothers and sisters in today's gospel jesus reminds his disciples about the right condom toward recognizing the faults of others jesus does not prohibit correcting those who who make errors or are in a sinful state the governing thought of jesus is that passing judgment should be done in the spirit of prayer great humility compassion and love hypocrites are concerned only with the splinter of one's eye and do not recognize their own self-blinding plank do we humbly recognize our sins and errors do we pass judgment with arrogance and with pride we ask the lord's forgiveness i confess to almighty god and to you my brothers and sisters that i have greatly sing in my thoughts and in my words in what i have done and in what i have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most grievous fault therefore i asked blessed mary ever virgin all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the lord our god may almighty god have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life amen [Music] foreign [Music] is [Music] [Music] [Music] song [Music] [Applause] [Music] the police is [Music] [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Music] foreign god [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] me [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] let us pray grant us the lord we pray that the course of our world may be directed by your peaceful rule and that your church may rejoice and trouble in her devotion to our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit one god forever and ever r the need for being prudent in words and actions is among the father's counsels assembled by cyrux the first reading a reading from the book of sira when a shift is shaken the husks appear so do and so do one's fault when one speaks as the test of what the pattern molds is in the four lays so in tribulation is the test of the just the fruit of a tree shows the care it has had so too does one speech disclose the bent one's mind praise no one before he speaks for it is then that people are tested the word of the lord thanks be to god lord it is [Music] it is good to give thanks to the lord distinguished [Music] to proclaim your kindness throughout the night lord it is [Music] shall flourish in the voids of our god lord it is [Music] [Music] whom there is [Music] after the apostle paul explains to the community of corinth the reality of resurrection he concludes it with a triumphant soul death no longer has effect to those who believe in the resurrection of christ the second reading a reading from the first letter of saint paul to the corinthians brothers and sisters when this which is corruptible clothes itself with incorruptibility and this which is immortal clothes itself with immortality then the word that is written shall come about that is swallowed up in victory where or death is your victory where or death is your stain the sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law but thanks be to god who gives us the victory through our lord jesus christ therefore my beloved brothers and sisters be firm steadfast always full fully developed devoted to the work of the lord knowing that in the lord your labor is not in vain the word of the lord thanks be to god let us give honor to the holy gospel oh [Music] shine like lights in the world i see you hold on to the word of life the lord be with you and with your spirit the proclamation from the holy gospel according to saint luke glory to you jesus told his disciples a parable can a blind person guide a blind person will not both fall into a pit no disciple is superior to the teacher but when fully trained every disciple will be like his teacher why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own how can you say to your brother brother let me remove that splinter in your eye when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye you hypocrite remove the wooden beam from your eye first then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother's eye a good tree does not bear rotten fruit nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit for every tree is known by its own fruit for people who do not pick figs from thorn bushes nor do they gather grapes from brambles a good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks sisters and brothers the gospel of the lord praise to you lord jesus christ today jesus tells us of some very important things in the life of a christian and especially for leaders in a christian community be careful with choosing whom to follow lest you stumble into the pit alongside your blind guide i know if it's a begin a blind person cannot indicate the road that is ahead of him because he simply cannot see and so for us to follow a blind person is a crazy idea we will definitely fall into the same place where he will fall in fact to tell us today that we have no business trying to be guides for others unless we first ourselves can see clearly there will be many who will present themselves as teachers wisdom claiming special capacity telling others they have certain powers only in the end to be seen as poorly themselves informed too idealistic too blind to see the realities of life and therefore are truly blind guides my dear friends when a person begins to judge others it is so easy for him to forget that as he judges others imperfect he too himself may be imperfect when the person begins to feel he's better than others nothing self-righteousness and fails to acknowledge his own sinfulness that is definitely a person who is a blind guy your spiritual pride has those are the persons who definitely will enter into the category of what it means to be blind when the person begins to be judgmental unable to see his own that too is definitely a blind guy when a person is unable to see his own defects and has not come to terms with his own inability his own mistakes his own weakness his own being many times in his lives he will never ever be a good guy they will tell us that subconsciously sabine among psychologists we detest the things that we see in others which are actually the things we detest in ourselves we judge others it fi we find it difficult to judge and to convict ourselves but so much easier to convict when we see the same defects we have in others i say instead of working and trying to change ourselves we try to change the rest of the world when we are this definitions why because you pretend to be someone better than who you truly are when we see a person so rigid so judgmental so strict extraordinary rigorous with regards to others and certain things it could be that this person a certain unresolved problem with the very things he condemns in others my tendency a teacher goes into his classroom and tells his students today i'd like to ask you a question so said please look at the blackboard and it was a blackboard that was superbly clean but instead of using a green chalk or white chalk she decided to use a black chalk and then he began to place a dot in the middle of that blackboard now tell me what you see well of course everybody as i would myself i did making drawing and then it tells us that seems to be the natural tendency of all of us to see only that black and able to see that in the midst surrounding that surrounding that black is a huge swipe at which the planet has been placed i know eb [Music] unable to see the so many beautiful things that we can yet see in a person psychologists tell us we begin we highlight the defects of others psychologists tell us now many times in a highlight nothing in an underline unable to see the goodness that the person may have in himself we seek for darkness rather than for light we see the little dark dot rather than the broad blackboard that remains to be white we focus on the evil rather than on the goodness of each one and yet if you want this world to be truly a beautiful world then we must ask the lord to give us these two graces um the recognition of our own defect to be humbled and to resolve the problem that we first are unworthy of whatever position we have [Music] will he not he will not become but the lord wants him to become a more understanding person a more forgiving person because he has already forgiven himself a merciful person because he has accepted that he is not worthy and that he himself is a sinner someone said this in our spiritual life we are more disposed to fix our gaze outside of ourselves when coming to understand and able to understand that the greatest greatest lesson is firstly the awareness of our own effective reality the lord tells us today the beauty of this is that we have a god who looks at us and says the only thing that is most important is first to accept what we have done good is what in the end is most important to the lord yes i'm still looking for the perfect woman [Music] he said i finally found the perfect woman [Music] herself was looking for the perfect man the lord has introduced himself into our story to tell us who we are we are being loved by him we are being given mercy by him he's able to understand us and he invites our church which is a church not a perfect of perfect people but of people wanting to be perfect not of saints but of sinners who are desiring to be saints but the lord is with us to tell us i will give you the strength to continue in your struggle to become who i want you to become important see aristotle aristotle would one would one day tell his his students i count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies for the harvest for the hardest victory is victory over one's self foreign and harry truman agrees with aristotle when he said i'm reading the lives of great man and i found that the first victory was won by these persons when they had victory and discipline over themselves discernment firstly means and then maybe once we have understood once we have begun to be merciful once we have begun to accept and confronted our own defects and accepted them can we become good guides good teachers for others let this be our wish and let this be our prayer amen and so we proclaim i believe in one god mother almighty maker of heaven and earth of all things invisible and invisible i believe in one lord jesus christ the only begotten son of god born of the father before all ages god from god light from light true god from true god begotten not made consubstantial with the father through him all things were made for as men and for our salvation he came down from heaven and by the holy spirit was incarnate of the virgin mary and became man for our sake he was crucified under pontius pilate he suffered death and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father he will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end i believe in the holy spirit the lord the giver of life who proceeds from the father and the son who with the father and the son is adored and glorified who has spoken through the prophets i believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church i confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and i look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come amen let us pray to our heavenly father that we may see his son jesus among sinners and look upon them with mercy and with compassion with humility and trust we pray lord listen to our prayer lord listen to our prayer may pope francis bishops priests deacons and all church leaders see their ministry not as superior over anyone but as humble service for god's people we pray lord listen to our prayer may those who govern our country become conscious of their role as the words of god's people who encourage and recognize the potentials and talents of their constituents we pray lord listen to our prayers may we live patiently by bearing each other's imperfections and not keeping a list of faults and failures of others we pray lord listen to our prayer may we receive the sacrament of reconciliation often so that we can build a community that cultivates the healing power of god's compassion we pray lord listen to our prayer my medical and health care professionals and social workers ease the pain and burden of the sick the handicapped the elderly the depressed and those who are undergoing different forms of crisis in life we pray lord listen to our prayer may the almighty father continue to protect our viewers the homebound and their families and through the powerful intercession of our blessed mother grant all intentions and requests offered through this mass we pray lord listen to our prayer for our beloved dead that through the saving mercy of god they may reach eternal life we pray lord listen to our prayer let us pray for the urgent concerns of our community and our personal intentions we pray lord listen to our prayer i would like us to pray in a very special manner for the people in ukraine for the lives that are now being wasted and used for for nothing for the sufferings that people are experiencing because of this war we pray that the lord the god of peace may bring peace firstly into the hearts of those who are involved that they may be merciful and loving listen to the purse of your children lord and grant us the capacity to forgive from our hearts so that we may be one with you who live in rain forever [Music] is [Music] broken bread [Applause] [Music] is [Music] bring me your friends that your sacrifice and mine were made acceptable to god the almighty father may the lord christ for the praise glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church oh god who provide gifts to be offered in your name encount our oblations as signs of our desire to serve you with devotion we ask of your mercy that what you grant us as the source of merit may also help us to attain marriage reward through christ our lord amen the lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your heart we lift them up to the lord let us give thanks to the lord our god it is right and just it is truly right and just our during our salvation always in every way to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for when your children were scattered afar by sin to the blood of your son and the power of the spirit you gathered them again to yourself there are people formed as one by the unity of the trinity made the body of christ in the temple of the holy spirit might to the praise of your manifold wisdom be manifest as the church and so we company in company with the choirs of angels we praise you and with joy we proclaim [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] you are indeed hold you lord the fount of holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the jews all so that they may become for us the blood and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you [Music] in the summer the way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saints take this all of you and drink from for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins to this in memory of me [Music] the mystery of faith [Music] oh my gosh [Music] therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the blood and that of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with the fancies of our pope with our bishops and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god with blessed joseph her spouse with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have blessed you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you to your son jesus christ through him and with him and in him in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours almighty father forever and ever [Music] god is our loving father merciful and forgiving he asked of us to be merciful and forgiving as well we now pray the prayer jesus himself taught us [Music] so [Music] [Music] me [Music] is my
