somebody say hallelujah [Music] my god my god my god my god i feel the presence of the lord in this place and the lord is whispering in my ear that those of you at home can feel it too he said whether there be two or three gathered in his name he will be in the midst he didn't specify whether it be some over here and some uh worshiping virtually he said if they gather together we're together and because we're together god is up in this thing and because he's here i'm gonna give him a praise i don't know about you but i didn't get dressed up this morning i didn't walk down that aisle i didn't down so for the rest of this service you have freedom to worship the lord because it's been a long time since we've been in this sanctuary together and we've realized during kobe that this is a privilege so treat it as such come on everybody no more bondager but say no more no more [Music] lift up your voice and praise the name of the lord for he is worthy to be praised hallelujah hallelujah praise the lord praise the lord praise the lord hallelujah hallelujah if you're able please remain standing for our invocation gracious god we thank you for this day a day that we've never seen before father we thank you for allowing us into the sanctuary to worship you in spirit and in truth god we ask now that you would bless us in a special way strengthen us god for this journey and bless us as only you can we ask this prayer in the name of jesus amen and amen [Music] yes yes yes yes we serve a great god we serve a great god [Music] i feel like there's another hallelujah that we gotta let out into the atmosphere real quick i want to hear you say it everybody say hallelujah [Music] [Music] [Applause] hallelujah [Music] [Applause] i'm excited today i'm excited today how many excited today how many excited today i am excited to see your smiling faces one more time the lord is moving us back into the sanctuary and as we processed in here i had a a a vision of this church being full again and my heart got full it's like the songwriter says through many dangers toils and snares that's what it took for us to get here today we haven't reached the place that we want to get to but i can celebrate it in faith that's what faith is sometimes is seeing something and not having it but having the ability and the faith in god to just give him a praise like this place was full again give him a praise for the people who didn't make it to see this there's a lot that we have to give thanks to god for and i don't take it lightly to be in this position with you all today we serve a god who has the ability to turn things around [Music] joseph said to his brothers what you meant for evil god meant it for my good so i want to tell you all the story of my testimony how god turns things around yes there were times in my life when i thought i would never make it i was down [Music] again [Music] he my situation [Applause] [Music] oh come on [Music] [Music] is [Music] he my thought [Applause] he turned my morning into dancing dancing he turned my sorrow into joy and he gave me the spirit of praise for the garment of heaven come on come on come on [Music] come on do you have that experience with [Music] god [Applause] [Music] now this is a song no more no more no more [Music] [Music] oh yeah come on [Music] did he ever turn it around come on [Music] he's turned up [Music] turn yes he did yes he did he's given me the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness he turned you know romans 8 and 28 says this and we know that all things work together for the good of them that love god and to those who are the called according to his purpose whatever you're going through god is going to use it to make you better god is going to use it to bring glory to his kingdom you didn't go through what you went through just for for some happenstance but you went through for a purpose a purpose that's greater than you that's why god has no problem turning things around in your life because when he does it for you he will get the glory so whenever you're going through something i want you to say this there are no words so the enemy can hear what you're saying when you're going through something say this say this oh [Music] right there when you sing something like that god begins to to give you beauty for ashes he begins to give you the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness come on y'all help me sing it again [Music] everybody [Music] he's turning things around he's turning situations around he's making waves out of nowhere he's giving you sunlight the morning don't but that's when someone great [Music] i need somebody right now to get out of your seat and turn around get out of your seat right now and turn around get out of your seat and turn around turn around turn around let the devil know you ain't gonna keep me where i am i won't be here always praise the [Applause] praise the lord hallelujah hallelujah [Music] he turned it around he turned it around hallelujah good morning first baptist [Music] i am excited to see your faces this morning hallelujah we're happy that you were able to join us in person for the procession hallelujah whether you're here in the sanctuary or online at home on the behalf on behalf of our pastor dr dante r quick we welcome you we welcome you now if you're worshiping with us online we ask that you just drop a line in the comment section and let us know where you're worshiping from amen god bless you first baptist amen [Music] oh good morning good morning we will bless the lord with all our soul we will bless the lord with all our hearts we will bless the lord he's worthy is he worthy is he worthy did he keep you through colvin did he bring you through your finances has he kept your children is he worthy how many battles has he fought how many ways has he made how many tears has he wiped is he worthy [Music] is there a witness that when i look back over my life and i think things over i see the hand of god making ways out of nowhere fighting battles anybody been through chemo anybody survive radiation anybody filed for bankruptcy anybody been divorced anybody cried over a baby is he good is he worthy [Music] the lord is my shepherd i want for nothing makes me to lie down in green pastures sits me beside still waters restores my soul [Applause] he's good i will bless the lord with all my heart his praises shall continually be in my mouth [Music] he's good from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same he's worthy good morning first baptist it's our first time together and the lord has made ways out of nowhere now i got so caught up in the music i didn't put on my robe so you all have to forgive me this morning there are a few things that i believe in i believe that every pastor has priestly functions and everyone has prophetic functions and i'm gonna ask if you could uh just go get the robe for me we'll put it on in front of everybody we we this is a lesson this is a lesson for weeks we have been planning i've watched three four hour meetings trustees and deacons and staff to make sure that we loved one another enough that we came into this place vaccinated [Music] that we loved each other enough that we came into this place mask that we loved each other enough that we came into this place physically distant we as people of color suffer from what the woman is theologian called demonarchy black women in particular she said demonarchy is race class and for black women gender as the church we must lead the way you can go to a grocery store without a mask you can go to a concert without a mask but the church must live differently so first baptist we vaccinated more than 5 000 people i'm told amen we're going to lead this city this county this state we're going to show the world what it means to come to church and love each other enough where we don't see each other's nose or mouths my pet peeve is when i see a person with a mask on and i still see their nose so we're gonna love each other enough to care for each other while we're in the sanctuary amen for our viewing audience at home i want you to see what it looks like when you're human i made a mistake i got caught up in the worship and didn't go back and put on my robe but you'll notice a couple of things that are slightly slightly different their growth i don't believe in change i didn't come to first baptist to change anything i came to grow us so one of the growth things you'll see is our altar is in place because when we call the babies and parents to the altar we're not calling them to the pastor we're calling them to what paul tillich said was the sign and symbols of our faith the altar represents the presence of god the front of the altar reads do this in remembrance of me as humans we need signs and symbols to remind us never enter this place like you're entering a concert hall you enter this place seeking the sign and symbols of a most holy god the bible is open to psalm 42. each month the bible will be open to a leading scripture that guides us the candles represent the light of god on some occasions they will be lit but never forget when you come into this place you bring your own sense of holiness to meet the symbol of god's holiness but there's imperfection there's failure i want to demonstrate for you what you do when things don't go perfect because god did not call us to be perfect the scripture says we all fall short of the glory of god and one reason young people don't come to church is we front in our faith you all know what blue lights in the basement look like you all been to blue lights in the basement parties some of y'all danced to teddy pendergrass and y'all ain't always been saved sanctified and filled with the spirit stop fronting for your grandkids and tell them what the lord took you from and let god take them from something amen so i'm gonna put on the robe now [Music] now i was supposed to do that 10 minutes ago but i messed up first day i messed up next week i'm a mess up mels up but grace is sufficient anybody ever need some grace we gonna be a graceful place amen i'd like to call up grayson dylan his parents kim kim lon dylan jr and elisa mcknight i'd like to call up nyla strocker daddy ricardo and mom natoya i would like to call up austin [Music] dad ricardo mom rosetta zion charles [Music] dad nathan mom charity [Music] so [Music] me [Music] [Music] i've had the beautiful opportunity to meet and talk with each one of these families to explain to them what today is about as baptist we believe in believer's baptism we don't baptize children but we bless children that comes from our history and and one day i'll explain to you the term anabaptist and what the argument was for us to become baptist it was around this very act there was a theological argument what happens if a baby dies before they are baptized and the pope said well i'll charge you and we'll baptize them and and the anabaptist said no we believe that god is gracious [Music] so today we come and we offer two charges first is to each one of these families we have charged each one of you to convert three spiritual goals for your child [Music] who is the god you want to introduce them to and how do you want them to grow into that god [Music] the question becomes will they see that god in you they should see you argue every now and then if they don't they'll think you're lying the problem is not the argument they should also see you make up they should also see you fight fair they should also see respect love and courage we got to stop hiding from our children who we really are because one day they'll get old enough to figure it out on their own the second thing [Music] is we're still trying to convince the world that black lives matter protect them don't try to be their friend you're their parent i have a 14 year old and a 17 year old my my 17 year old is now taller than i am and he walked up on me the other day [Music] and i had to demonstrate [Music] he ain't my friend [Applause] and when he got up our parent-child relationship was realigned [Applause] that is not your friend don't tell him or her your problems [Music] guard them against people who don't deserve to be in their lives if you're single don't bring everybody to your home lastly teach them how to pray prayer is that thing that will get them through now my last thing my brothers and sisters so that we can move on i'm going to invite my brother deacon to come back up and are the servant of our deaconesses is she here as well or one of our deaconesses come on up this is not for you we've we've done this part the church has a charge we call ourselves a church because we have responsibilities you're going to see these children in the grocery store you're going to see them in the laundry room mats you'll see them everywhere you go let them see the presence of god when they see you [Applause] if you correct a child when they're running around the church correct them in love and respect we are the ones to develop the ministries that will get them to the next level we are the ones to train them to be in sunday school and to be ushers so our charge is to live our lives not just as an institution but as individuals not through fake faith but to let them know the struggle is real but god is real this is our charge as a church this is your charge as parents let us pray god we thank you and we honor you because you are good we lift up these your children your word says let the little children come unto me they are here allow your rock to fall on them so fresh god that you envelop us in your spirit and and mold us in your mind we thank you for parents who had the unction of the spirit to bring their children before you make us a community responsible and worthy that we can stand with you beside you behind you that these black lives matter and we rebuke anything and anybody that tries to reduce their humanity lord we thank you for a future president we thank you for a future ceo we thank you for our future barber we thank you for a future janitor we thank you god that you have set great things before them and we give you the glory and the honor amen amen and amen church would you stand with me for just a second and celebrate our newest blessed families and all that god is doing for them let's praise god for our future let's praise god for a growing church let's thank god for a sanctuary with the cries of babies the church is alive congratulations may god bless you and god keep you you may return to your [Music] [Music] seats [Music] god [Music] me [Music] [Music] is [Music] to me [Music] good morning family brianna here with the bulletin your weekly hey we give you grace [Applause] right [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] me [Applause] prices for every mountain for every mountain god brought anybody over a mountain you got a praise for for every mountain he's brought me over for every valley every tea i cry yeah every now and then it gets good to you deep down in your bones and you you just gotta say thank you lord if it hadn't been for you i wouldn't have made it [Music] long days for every mountain i want to praise god my brothers and sisters for the amazing ministry of music for my dear sister who led us in worship for my dear brother who led us in worship and praise [Music] i want to start by thanking sister rosetta and brother ricardo palais am i announcing pronouncing that correctly i was watching a little earlier and they demonstrated a way that we can grow we want babies in the sanctuary we want families and we should be committed to taking care of them it's been a long time since i've had a baby i watched daddy put his hands over his ears because it's a little loud and that's his job to protect his child and i thought maybe we should look at a way to get little baby earphones so that we can help parents protect every we want you here and we don't want you to have any worries while you're here so we're going to investigate that so that when you come back you'll have something to put over ears to make sure that you can worship without worrying about your baby's hearing this is what it means for us to be committed to families to make this worship experience the best it can be i'm going to get into our word i i don't want to get in trouble on two fronts being a pk kid is hard my children will be here next week so that my son doesn't get upset with me he is a very good kid he is taller than me he's a very good kid and my daughter is a beautiful young lady i also don't want to get in trouble i didn't do it earlier because i wanted to focus on the babies and the families but i am somebody's baby as she often reminds me it i didn't stop being her baby when i turned 50 as she often reminds me but my mother is here today and my entire family and i want to honor them today if if my family would stand up for me for just a second my aunts and my cousins and all of them are here and we praise god for them my mother [Music] [Applause] are all here so i have family members who are members and have been members of first baptist for a long time before my before i preach i want to give honor to the reverend dr deforesauries and first lady stories i want to honor them and that can we honor them [Music] [Applause] the man of god sent a message to me just a few moments ago praying for me via text and i'm i'm humbled for his prayers our word today comes from the gospel according to luke the seventh chapter in luke i'll be reading out of the new revised standard version of the text from verse 11 to verse 17 i should warn you i am not a professional homiletician preaching is not my strongest suit so pray for me as we try to divide the word of god effectively luke chapter 7 verse 11 through 17 and i'm going to ask you out of my baptist tradition when the word of god is being read we stand in reverence for it we don't stand in reverence for the preacher but the word that is being preached luke 7 verse 11 through 17 out of the new revised standard text reads as follows soon afterwards he went to a town called nine and his disciples in a large crowd went with him as he approached the gate of a town a man who had died was being carried out he was his mother's only son and she was a widow and with her was a large crowd from the town when the lord saw her he had compassion for her and said to her do not weep [Music] then he came forward and touched the briar and and the bearers stood still and he said young man i say to you rise the dead man sat up strange in the greek language the dead man sat up it's odd maybe the writer meant to say the living man sat up but that's not what he said he said the dead man sat up and began to speak and jesus gave him to his mother fear seized all of them and they glorified god saying a great prophet has risen among us and god has looked favorably on his people the word about him spread throughout judea and all the surrounding country i'd like you all to pray with me on this thought briefly we interrupt this regularly scheduled program we interrupt this regularly scheduled program lord we thank you and we honor you for your grace your mercy hide me behind the cross for i have nothing to say but but your word has spoken for centuries reduce my ego so the people see not me but only a manifestation of your faith mercy and we'll give you the glory and the honor amen please be seated my brother today we start the procession after long prayer for hours psalm 42 guided us to this moment the psalmist is crying seeking to enter worship we will deal intensely with the psalmist in a few weeks but to prepare for him we're going to spend the next couple of weeks exploring biblical processions the first procession we will look at oddly enough you would think it's a funeral procession but that's not my hermeneutical focus today see if you focus on the funeral procession you've missed the procession that really matters the bible says that jesus is coming to town says a large crowd is coming with him oh yes there is a funeral procession don't get me wrong this text could be preached by frankie beverly and mays joy and pain sunshine and rain life is neither one nor the other it's never always good it's it's never always bad it always involves this strange syncretism of drama and victory covet hasn't been all bad no i hear some people talking about covet weight now now you trying to drop your covet pounds because you're on your way to martha's vineyard or you're on your way to florida and and you want to put on a bathing suit that you couldn't wear three years ago so you're trying to lose some covet weight but but think about this with all the hungry homeless people in the middle of covet god blessed you enough to eat enough that you picked up some weight it ain't all bad [Applause] we were sheltered in place together my family's here and they came to my home last night and they asked which room was theirs and i explained that my home has a 48-hour expiration date after 48 hours if you're not paying the mortgage you got to go somewhere but we you family you've been in california yeah there was a 48-hour expiration date in california except doing coving my mother came to live with us for quite a while her and my children were sheltered in place for months it was beautiful until it wasn't coveted was not all bad but it wasn't all good without covet donald trump would probably still be your president he messed that thing up so bad that even the racists couldn't vote for him again kobe wasn't good but it wasn't all bad and even now almost 48 hours into registration it was full people who would come to church periodically are clamoring to get back into the sanctuary a rediscovery of god has now come upon the consciousness of people covey wasn't all bad but it wasn't all good life is never one or the other it's always a mix and two crowds come crashing together here jesus's crowd and the crowd in a funeral there's always a crowd in the new testament and we got to be careful not about being in the crowd we got to be careful about which crowd we're in you see there are some crowds that are codependent those codependent crowds will nurse your nonsense those co-dependent crowds will not hold you accountable in any way they don't want your growth because you might outgrow them y'all y'all know some of those crowds they they want you to be stuck where they stuck those co-dependent crowds speak negatively and and seek drama y'all know those crowds and if you don't know the crowd maybe because you lead in the crowd because it's hard to identify your own crowd every now and then and so this woman is marching in with her crowd we're told in the greek that if we exegete it enough it could mean the whole town don't get confused the whole town's probably not that big it becomes from the tribe of issachar it is probably a small town family oriented oh sometimes the worst crowd to be in is that family crowd see i don't believe in generational curses my bible doesn't tell me about generational curses because i'm not going to serve a god that would curse generations that had nothing to do with the original sin i believe in generational patterns and because they are generational patterns patterns can be broken some of us got some family patterns we need to break we got to stop nursing those things that keep us embroiled in non-productive activity there's one crowd and they're mourning and they have reason to mourn the bible says that she's not only a widow but she's lost her only son there are economic implications i'm i'm in the home of d free i'm sure y'all are all d free i i i'm positive that if you are driving a mercedes i'm positive that you have no debt you paid for it in cash you are not living off credit this is sorry's church i know all y'all d free and i know all y'all tithing and i ain't even got to talk about that but if not there may be some generational patterns you got to break one pattern is looking good for other broke people you know black folks will look good we'll have a gucci purse and it's empty we but but that's not about money that's about where do you find validation what makes you feel worthy in the eyes of other people this widow has lost all her income her husband can't take care of her in a patriarchal society and now her son can't take care of her the scripture points out it's her only son because there's nobody else in line so not only is she marching but her grief is double she got reason but here's my question is the crowd there to support her or is the crowd there to watch her because some people like to see you in your grief they feel better the worse you feel poor child bless your heart i wish i could help you you can shut up [Applause] because if you're not investing in me i don't understand why you're talking to me see we got to stop critiquing people without an investment plan for them see when you invest in somebody you not only see their pain but you develop a way of becoming a part of the resolution of their pain the crowd is marching and they run head first into another crowd jesus's crowd and they meet in a city called nine the hebrew the greek word the hebrew word literally means beautiful i want you to notice something about these crowds one is leaving a place of beauty and one is on the way to a place of beauty you better know which direction your crowd is going in because not every crowd is going to a beautiful place some crowds are coming to take you out of your beautiful place let me see if i can come close to your house anybody ever see a number pop up on your phone and you turn it over like you didn't see it because you know they gonna call you with some drama anybody got those cousins who call you on the 15th and the 30th like clockwork i know y'all don't have those folks some crowds walk away from beauty but jesus is always walking towards it and when the two crowds collide here's three things that i want you to understand about this procession the first thing is this procession involves divine disruption whenever jesus walks into your life jesus comes to disrupt something y'all better stop asking for the lord because what you're asking for might mess up your program stop seeking god because god's gonna come and disrupt whatever you thought should happen because god's ways are not your ways and god's thoughts are not your thoughts and you want him to be 6'5 220 drive a rims with 20 inches you want him to have 500 000 in the bank but he bankrupt emotionally god might bring you one who's 5-1 120 but he got them good government benefits and he gonna love you and your babies god has a way of disrupting and seeking what's best for you even when you can't see it god is not interested in your program god is not concerned with your dreams god's already got your path laid out the problem with many of us is that we're not discerning god's will we're trying to make our will what god wants and i'm a witness that i can fight and walk in any direction i want to and god will let me swing my arms until i can't swing no more but i'm going to end up where god wants me to be god disrupts this funeral procession to engage this woman and here's the beautiful thing the bible says when he comes to the procession he looks at her god's disruption always involves a focus on faithful people god may not give you a new car god may not bless you with a new house god may not give you a new job but when god looks at you god looks through you all you need is one look from god god sees who you are and god sees the potential when you trust that god sees you when other people only see what you can do see what your job title is when other people focus on your sexuality god sees you for who you are you are wonderfully and fearfully made you are made in god's image and likeness and when the world can't see you god stops and looks at you [Applause] oh to be looked at by god all to have god's eyes focus on you and then god not only disrupts by looking god disrupts by speaking you see the second thing in this disruption is a divine discussion the bible says that that after jesus looked at her he did two things and noticed the order in which he did it he spoke to her before he spoke to her problem woman stop your weeping could it be that some of us don't have the peace in god because we're so focused on our problems we get up talking about our problem we go through the day complaining about our problem we lay down dreaming about our problem we've given our problems so much authority she get on my nerves why are you always talking about me why doesn't my boss like me i can't sleep because stop talking about your problem jesus said stop weeping he talked to her first and y'all you can't talk to nobody you ain't looked at first church and faithful people need to talk to each other you know we talk about each other we talk around each other we email each other and now we have something i call keyboard courage you know people will email you and text you stuff they won't say to your face we got a lot of keyboard courage but intimacy true relationship requires that we go the extra step and see each other see each other's pain see each other's potential see beyond each other's titles see beyond bank accounts can you see who god has made me to be i am pregnant with possibility look at me i am black and beautiful don't see people because they're deacons they have pain too don't see ministers in robes they have problems too but if we could see each other first baptist if we could look at each other through the facade of american materiality if we could look at each other through the pain and the psychosocial degradation if we could look at each other and minister to each other and speak to each other how much power can we develop where two or more are gathered doom the sun has set free if we look at each other god will work through each of us to transform our lives woman stop weeping there's a divine disruption and then there's a divine discussion well he talked to her first then he talked to her problem psychosocially we have now what we call covet fatigue now psychologists are talking about post-covet psychosis we're going to focus on mental health here at first baptist one of the things that black people got to do is stop calling each other crazy [Applause] i've been in therapy for 25 years i'm going to zoom with my therapist next week you can't pastor black people and not have a therapist i made up my mind i wasn't going to let nobody drive me crazy get on my last nerve i don't even say it i don't even let nobody i don't even say you getting on my last nerve i'm not letting you get that far by the time you get on the first one we either gonna have a conversation or i'm gonna be like abram and lot may the lord watch between me and thee you can take that side i'ma take this side but god gave me peace that the world didn't give and the world can't take away i got to guard my mental health if you don't have a therapist we gonna create one for you we're not crazy 400 plus years of abuse you ain't nothing rape [Music] economic degradation the cultural social structuring of ghetto communities food deserts economic inequality who wouldn't be a little off balance every now and then you get scared when you see some lights pulling up behind you who wouldn't struggle with some anxiety every now and then but god can set you free and god can set you free through a good doctor every now and then a little medication and a strong exercise regimen the lord will set you free and i'm free indeed let's all walk through a new procession well i'm almost done my last name's quick the last d because i'm baptist so i believe in a liberation there'll be three i'll try to make the number the letters match you see i liked maya angelou but i can't write like her but like gardner-taylor i can create cermeronic points that have a heuristic value i've told you there's disruption i've told you there's discussion the last d is deliverance see i like these because my first name starts with a d both my children have middle names that start with d's d is cool he stops the procession because jesus ain't about your death walk jesus ain't interested in you staying stuck in depression and jesus wants you to do something to transform your consciousness yeah you single you lonely no you're not you're not lonely you better do your hair take yourself to a nice restaurant maybe to a movie look good for yourself cause if you don't look good for yourself you ain't gonna look good for nobody else every now and then you gotta look in the mirror and say oh i like that right there you you cute right there yeah you wearing them pants all that skirt hit you just every now and then you got to encourage yourself don't be thirsty out in this world cause thirst only attracts thirst mongers that wasn't even in my sermon y'all don't got me all messed up twisted around but every now and then the holy spirit tells me a little something i'm supposed to tell you somebody asked me pastor quick why do you have such a big house cause i want it well who gonna be in it with you me who else myself anybody else i anybody else nope not unless i invite them and guess what they got a 48-hour expiration date what you need six thousand square feet for because i'm big in the spirit stop living your life for the approval of other people that's mental illness stand up in what god brought you through walk in where god what did the singer say turn around and be free every now and god but what does deliverance look like my brother well so now he has come he's told the mother to stop crying he's told the boy get up and the bible says that a dead man sat up don't you know god can work through the dead just like god can work through the living what the word is telling us is there are no limitations on what god can do god can take your ex and make them the best god can do all kinds of things y'all stop telling people what god can't do where god can't go my god can make a way out of no way my god can raise valleys my god can make crooked rays straight i still believe in miracles science may not understand it but where the limits of science comes god is already there y'all ever wonder how we don't understand how the pyramids were made or how the mayan architects built what they built cause they had a higher relationship with god that kinetic religion understood some things about god that the western mind has been blocked from the western mind is cartesian let me break that down then we follow rene descartes renee descartes said i think therefore i am that's the basis of western philosophy every now and then y'all gonna go to school when you come to church and therefore in the west we base all humanity and thought on us everything starts with us the super ego the eye i am because i think i am but no bluetooth theology west african theology says i am because we are something existed before i came into the world somebody was before me and because i know that i didn't come here by myself i'm reliant on the ancestors who made a way out of nowhere i'm here because somebody made it through the bloody middle passage i'm here cause somebody survived the cotton fields of georgia i'm here cause somebody stood in front of bull connor i'm here because somebody survived ronald reagan i'm here cause george bush didn't kill me i'm here because my grandmama prayed for me my auntie cried for me my cousins ran for me boy get up and the dead man sat up now i got to tell you because i'm finishing and i'm going to try not to yell because the baby's looking at me and we ain't got ear muffs for him yet but i've been thinking brother charles all night in my exegetical work i was upset with the bible the bible said he got up and he spoke and i've been trying to figure out why didn't it tell me what he said i got so frustrated why didn't the word tell me what he said i've been frustrated all weekend because all week because i don't have cable i didn't have internet service so every now and then i had to stream something on my phone because what kind of life is it with cable with no cable or internet service i'm in the country i'm hearing cows i love it i don't want to hear no sirens but i needed some noise so my son said dad you got to watch all american i said okay so i went on netflix i started watching all american but they kept teasing me see the star in all american i ain't beyond season one can't figure out who his dad is and every now and then you think his daddy is the coach and then they throw some type of subplot to throw you off the coach's scent and that got me upset i just want to know who the boy's daddy is and they won't tell me who the boy's daddy is now i got to watch the next episode and they still ain't told me who the boy's daddy is so then i started reading the bible getting ready for sunday i get to this scripture they tell me the boy talked but they didn't tell me what the boy said i said now all american then got me all screwed up and now the bible got me all screwed up and then i joined the procession i came to church and it may have been that second praise and worship song what was that second praise and worship song y'all song freedom and then there was a a lyric that said god will turn my mourning into what dancing he he he turned it he turned it now all the teachers out there will know i'm using uh nuristic advice right now i knew what the song was but i'm trying to make sure y'all following me in the sermon that i haven't lost you that you still awake so he turned my morning into dancing he turned it and then i realized that's what the boy said the boy and his mama had a new conversation he probably sat up and said mama what you thought was dead god is brought back to life and i don't know who i'm talking to but there's somebody who's ready to have a new conversation you thought everything had died but god will turn your mourning into dancing what they thought was my failure god turned to my good is there anybody who knows god will turn it around and around and around god will turn your cancer around god will turn your stroke around you know how god does it god says let me interrupt your regularly scheduled programming you thought you were dying but i'm giving you new life let me interrupt your regularly scheduled programming you thought you were alone but i'm with you all the time let me interrupt your regularly scheduled programming i'm about to give you a new song anybody ready for god to turn it around anybody ready for god to interrupt your regularly scheduled programming if you're ready raise your hand if you're home and you're ready typing i'm ready i'm ready i'm ready [Music] the doors of the church are open for all the ready people when god told me to get up [Music] god said get up this divorce ain't going to kill you god said get up i'ma move you to new jersey god said get up everything you lost i'll replace tenfold god said get up and i don't know who i'm talking to but god sent me to tell somebody get up cancer won't take you get up and as we open the doors to the church we're not inviting you to church we're inviting you to disruption we're inviting you to a divine discussion and we're inviting you to deliverance and if you're ready for god to disrupt something in your life and to bring a new thing into your life a qr code is going to come on your screen you can point your camera up there if you're at home type in hashtag disruption i'm ready for god to change some stuff in my life i'm ready for god to take me places i've never been before i'm ready for god to change my consciousness i'm ready for god to give me a new identity disruption and if you're ready for god to do that in your life i'm just going to invite y'all because we're covert conscious but if you're ready for god to disrupt something in your life would you stand with me only those who are ready for god to disrupt something in their lives if you okay the way it is you'll need nothing from god you living your best life already you stay seated but if you know that you need the lord to disrupt something for you if you know you need god to step in and turn something around just stand up with me let me look at you would you look at each other would you see each other can you see that you're pregnant with possibility that what god's about to do in your life will explode beyond any measure that god is ready to take you somewhere you've never been before this is our invitation if you want to be a part of first baptist just point your camera at the screen and it'll take you somewhere if if
