Farthest Frontier - (Medieval Frontier Village Builder) [2024 Update]

all right farthest Frontier just got a big update it's actually had a few updates since the last time I played it but the big one that just came out is the the combat update uh it adds in we can recruit Soldier types new new Soldier types and some Horsemen units or whatever uh it also has added in some like ranching things goats and chickens if you haven't seen farth this Frontier before it's sort of um sort of a next the next step in like a banished thing where we've got a medieval settlement Builder and it came out here in 2022 um from what I think I think they mentioned that they're supposed to be hitting 1.0 this year as well so we'll see um Nook smouth we call this one so our terrain we're going to leave this as Trailblazers style it's fine um we got different different places we can go to here I'm just take random you know we's just do random Map size we'll keep us nice small map it might be kind of difficult that way that way we're forced to trade and stuff um I'm interested in seeing I am actually interested in seeing some more hosle forces but we'll do we'll do Trailblazer that's probably a good a good one we can do here actually we do this way um I want Raiders to be tough everything else is fine though but I want more Raiders cuz I want to I want to see the fighty bits so let's try this out I've played I think I've done a couple different two or three different towns with this game life can be harsh everywhere but in the old world [Music] [Music] [Music] Destiny I I fully intend to get swarmed by Raiders but that's we're here to see the combat updates let's see it this is a pretty tough one it's um I think banish I I always compare this one to banish I think banish is a good comparison where like that especially that first year it's real tough to like get things set quickly um and established before you know people start starving and all that kind of dying of how cold it is or whatever so we'll um see if we can uh keep this thing got a big hunk of land they had these ruins in here which were added last time I played um most of the game is sort of focused around making sure that we we keep an eye on certain resources like for instance that is I think coal back over there um got a nice Hill up here and there's some ruins we can go and explore do we have any water what's the fertile uh fertile is f so nice fertile spot there or somewhat fertile there's a little Pond there we can get some fish out of oh there's a lake okay um I'm not I think this little uh this little spot right here next to this either up on this hill then we can put like our Farmland over here that might be okay it's going be difficult building on that Hill let's just put it like deep in the trees here how about over here reset stuff back there how about over here it's kind of hilly too hilly a little too hilly let's put it right there right next to that ruin yeah all right everyone get to work we seem to be in a a very foresty spot and so we've got we've all got our Santa Claus coats on we're ready to go okay uh the wagon at the moment works as our storage jard and um I'll see if I get reacquainted with some things I know some of the UI has changed since the last time I played so I'll do my best here but we'll figure it out we can go Harvest resources we do want to harvest some things let's go ahead and just kind of clear out everything that's sort of in this spot here clear out this area so we got some eggs nearby some bird nest we got some herbs that's good for health we got some gold nearby uh those are more herbs I can't quite see over here what is all this is that is that what those are those are blueberries those are blueberries not or blueberries I was close h Hawthorn over that way um more blueberries there's a lot of blueberries I hope these people like blueberries there's a lot of blueberries lots of herbs over there and some deer over that way all right well while they're doing that let's go ahead and get a couple things done here we can go and make let's go to Road first just to kind of plan some things out and I think we're going to be kind of building like probably around a lake like this will be Farmland over here we'll build maybe our house are on this side industry can be kind of back over here I suppose um this is going to be the whole town is centered around blueberries so I hope everyone here likes blueberries if you don't like blueberries you might as well just leave cuz this isn't the place for you wonder if I can change the name of my town let's do something like uh something like that and I do want to go ahead and get in um while they're building that which is coming in pretty quickly uh let's go ahead and get the firewood guy going here real quick because I don't want anyone to die let me push the right button and then we'll make this it's not all okay so R does that they also changed some some hot Keys how do I rotate things rotate there it is rotate tab okay I'm not sure that may have always been tab I don't Bill berries what's a billberry I don't know what a billberry is may want some houses oh is that done already excellent excellent uh let's back uh so we'll add in um Martha Cheeseman she may already be here but now we got a Martha achievement again and so we'll see if we have some names popping up people we going to want some houses here and yeah they'll get there we got to get these trees chopped and I think what we'll do for um I think our house is going to are going to be over here somewhere maybe over in this patch over here this the town where the Bell Rings really loud I think so I think so uh some herbs over this way let's go ahead and start up with oh we're going to need a well I think yeah I think I think water place or or Homeland is going to be over here let's do that we'll have to get some rocks cleared out do we have any rocks nearby any good siiz rocks could be a rock around here somewhere I just want to just give me a rock there's a rock okay we'll go chisel out that rock get us get us some ston so we can make this well uh and then let's get uh a few more roads this is one of those games that like I um I end up playing for a long long time because I just get lost in it really well done City Builder let's go like we can do like stuff but everything doesn't really work I'm tempted to do it just just have troubles with this with this these houses um we can always like line with like since it's kind of crooked we can line it with plants and things to try to negate the the negative things there um save a little bit of travel time but I kind of need everyone else to be kind of nearby there as well um once we get to where we can you know maybe we get some storage or something over here that might help out or a food store I think food storage goes somewhere else doesn't it yeah root seller is where we put where we put that stuff yeah cuz things are going to spoil 50 gold what kind of town do I and the other one uh a market would help generate some gold track new settlers okay so let's go ahead and get the hunter cabin I'm going to set him kind of like off in the distance there's deer back over this way so we'll set him I did it again I just cannot get my mind to not hit R to rotate set him over here and over here by these deer it's a long way is there any do we see any other animals I think that was it I like that little tool tip that pops up whenever you put it in there it's kind of Handy there's what pigs over here that that what that is oh there's deer and pigs over here huh we do that then all ways out here but um I think it's okay we can always do the another one and um he's going to be doing a lot of walking okay yeah something like may have always been tab but something tells me it used to be R because I am just my my muscle memory is telling me it is R to rotate things and that that is one of the things that is updated was keybinds have changed in fact I can change um I think do we have houses for everyone yet we do seem to have houses maybe not for everyone we do we do have enough houses for everyone um I hopefully have enough I have enough firewood okay I the the smoker in Smoke House I'm I'm going to leave this is something I think people don't want to live by but we toti go over here where the firewood is I almost hit tab just slap it over there because that's where kind of all the resources are going to get hauled too so he'll carry the dead deer in and we'll cook it up over there okay time to get snowy the main in the main menu the music's level up uh and then I is water okay and then we know f is fertility okay um after this winter comes through it might be we could look at some farming and get something set up over this way we don't have a we don't have a big farming patch but we can try to get something in there um I we need some food let's go get a um where's that Market at there's a saw pit we can do is it there we need for it I need a saw pit first and this and the storehouse we can get a root S now too root seller there and I think I'm put it I going put a second one in do I have enough stone for that maybe not we'll just do one for now and then it wanted a storehouse before I got my market a predator where's it at okay can we can anyone else come handle this oh yeah they didn't look oh you almost almost got chewed on to time yeah that was this one this game um it would be cool to have like a game that has sort of like festivals in it and a little more social not the Sims style but a little bit more of that I think that's kind of that's kind of what guess there's a couple that kind of tried doing that but not really where like you're playing you're building the town of stardew Valley kind of thing where you're rather than just focusing on the keeping people alive you're trying to keep people happy as well with a town square and festivals and and farmers markets or whatever you know denter well that's not good sure you just just get a nap you'll be all right oh my person with a disent ter is the one that is my hunter I kind of need you you're fired okay good like double forger here uh how do I I can change the yeah here we go build redo your target area so we don't have so much overlap like that you can cover that's fine hey Thunderclap okay roads are in there's the sicko we have do we have we the other one I guess we got already over there we get bar he can hold some food this will save up on my foragers from having to run all over taxes no no taxes they think they can just live here last time I played and um the uh oh there's Dalia Dalia's back she's fine she's fine she slept it off she's fine now she was known as she was a sicko um barrels are really important trying to keep things from rotting because everything rots um it might be a good idea there always lag when I click on him um I'm going to move him and like set i'm temped to set him up like kind of like over here cuz we got stockpiles all around this way but then we can have someone that's like hanging around we'll put them over here here not sure if it's a good idea or not but that way they're kind of nearby the houses and the that thing we got one new villager and a couple uh babies born so let's get a couple more houses I was starting on oh new things are are opening up Market should be opening up okay A little patch of houses there that may not be our permanent housing but oh man okay Market is this a thing that people want to live by yeah it does it is where's that that's the mine right there guess I'm going to do like right there I can throw it over here and it's a bit of a walk for anything let's do that bit of a walk if we get attacked we're going to be in trouble cuz I am really spread out but if they do attack last time they only really came after the main place or the place that hold held the money so I just get my fence kind of built around that will be okay I'm I'm really want this way see that's all there um let's go ahead and look at some crop Fields these this is one of those games where we need a lot of food lot of food am I prepared to get rid of some berry bushes yeah we got plenty something like that we got to deal with like in PK and all that kind of stuff too this is a real big one let's do that we'll leave like a road we'll save the berries for now cuz miraculously I have over a Year's worth of food but most of it's going to spoil before then little farm set up and see what we can get over here so there's planks and stone is short uh well they're saing away saing away their with their dentary fingers uh do I have any more Stone nearby I got one I got a few over here let's get those any more Stone around very stoneless map there's one right there okay okay it's going take a lot of it's going to take a lot of work to get this done yeah the fields so the fields need to be big um and and we have to deal with the nutrients and so you have to put in like a a clover to replenish nutrients before you put in something taxing or corn or whatever hey gold well the ground Stone isn't the kind of stone we want it's really Stone's only really valuable whenever it just Peaks up out of out of the ground then you know you've got the good stuff bunch of coal over there could good we got a lot of berries here so I think maybe um I think maybe a forger over here would be good as well I know it's a lot of foragers but I I sort of have this problem when I play these kinds of games people always die um it's a little thing about food um always real bad at real bad at Food um I'm try I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying to do better Predators speaking of food oh got him nice who's that oh darlot oh she's hacking them up she show that wolf who this is me claim him he's 40 good age good age however it's like 1,600 so he's not going to make it too much longer here we go plenty of stone um what do we have left let's look at all the other stuff we got camera Center Village professions there's that button uh all my stuff in storage we know what that one is building menu Harvest resources we can we can clear stuff we can manage my walls we can flatten terrain which is a button that I've got but it it takes it takes work so like like those fields over there they have to actually go in and flatten the terrain it's not it's not instant like Sim City or whatever dirt roads oh there's a dirt road button uh and an exploration point we can send folks out to go and like uncover the fog of War over there when we get infantry units we can we can deal with them also uh which is we do have Towers a lookout tower it must be manned by guards so I don't have any guards I don't have any money so we can't really do that just yet uh when do I get something a Barracks requires tier 2 Town Center which once we get some planks starting to come in now and we need we need more more Stone actually we can almost do it is that market done oh it is good good okay that'll keep everyone over here rather happy and your um your desirability of your house should be it's 11 we need to be 30 before this house will upgrade and we can do that by putting in pretty things decorations um got like this Trail which will do nice oh yeah I guess I put them right I did didn't I why did I do that it's not what I meant to do but I can put these things in here this is going to give us 3% so we we can put in a few decorations and having a temple temple will help out a lot good time 1600's no dentist back then yet um yeah yeah those are the good old days okay let's go and get a road and you know what we're going we're going curvy Road this time because we're going to connect up over here what building is in the way oh that guy yeah just to kind of connect that up a little bit more um we'll need one over here I'm going to go get go we'll go through one of the berries Maybe oh we actually don't need a road here I do want one to connect up to these guys though okay crops okay here we go so this is complicated let's add some crops so we got things like beans or whatever and you see what beans do I'm sure there's a there's a good system here to kind of figure this out I think I've done it before where I've kind of figured it out um we got to deal with fertility weed level there's a lot of weed so we want something that's going to like suppress weeds best way of doing that is going to be just working the fields um I don't remember seeing hay before oh yeah we have other animals as well also don't we it's like what is the best weed suppression it's probably going to be us people deal with weeds but I want some food in there let's um we'll get some turnips in there everyone loves a good turnip we're a little late and then we will work it and then there's my so we we can add sand we can deal with Clay it's a little rocky so we'll work the field and then we'll throw in some cabbages cabbages need to be nice and fertile for cabbages we can't do cabbages there yet I have time um fertility dependence is 10 out of 10 how about something like some peas let's get some peas in there next season we're going to Clover it up clovers and then carrots um and then buckweed is very good at suppressing weeds put buckweed in there I can't something that's that's quick and I guess like those are quick I think the only really quick is as us oh nothing's quick so it's going to be a it's going to be a clover and carrat year and when you get that rhubarb and then the next year that that is Bean year beans and so we're going to work it once in three years well we'll get the clovers the next year we double Bean it we can put some Ry we get some rye going but Ry needs some good fertility it's very tolerant of everything though put some cabbages work the field I try getting working the fields in there it wouldn't fit I could get rid of carrots and put turnips in there again turnips won't take very long you see the distance how long it takes or I can put in uh peas maybe we do that maybe maybe we forget those how we get them out of there switch and switch them out for how do I get out of here I don't know how to cancel that one I don't know how to undo it anybody see a button to undo it you know what maybe we do carrots I can't figure out how to get how to undo the carrots it there it is expand the crop field huh uh and then we'll put in these it's really not much different can I fit myself in here now yeah there we go that'll work that'll work okay I don't know if it's going to work or not but we'll it's something um we'll have to get some fences around this because animals come in here and they're going to chew on it those jerks so if we've got some yeah let's do that yeah we got some wood around here so let's fence this place up it also works as a very nice animal trap like that and if I can get a gate on that road that'd be great if not I'll just move the go move the road back I can excellent okay so we we'll fence in my field so we'll keep all the animals out cuz otherwise the deer are going to come in here and start chewing on it we don't want that hey double gamer7 gamer let's level up upgrade okay do I have enough houses I do I do okay looking good water's going to get carried over there I guess another well is uh is in order here I suppose we can throw one in like over yeah over there where's this at ah you don't like my fences do you well that's too bad buddy that's just too bad look at all the resources I got all of a sudden just by kind of ignoring things for a minute lots of trees are need and chopped but other than that let's chop these clear some of these out and there we go okay so now we're working on what are we on now uh peas a lot of weeds in this field maybe a good maybe a good setup is just to go in there and just like the the first year just work it over and over and over again and get it weeds taken out get the Rocks taken out whatever and then go and start planting things let's see how this works is that um oh there deer over there yeah lots of deer that's what the Hunter's doing over here so yeah I remember last time I set up like a hunting cabin next to my Fields cuz they kept on walking in here and so we ate them we ate them and we ate turnips oo level two okay we need a lot of stuff to upgrade but that should unlock some new things for us yeah lots of new things okay what do we want first there's lots lots of things um suppose we should kind of just focus on whatever the houses need to upgrade so they want to be nice and they want two different types of food right now they're like we're getting tired of blueberries we tell them to get out of town cuz that's that's what we do here they also want some some they want it to be nice so we may have some better decorations or you know what I should do um well first off we'll get a let's get a Barracks cuz we do have scary place I I need 250 gold for this thing maybe we set the barracks up on the hill it needs to be kind of near center of town cuz that's where my money and that's where they're going to attack so I prefer it to be over here somewhere slope to steep I can fit it there no I can fit it there guess that works I just flatten whoops I meant to do Road [Music] oh my um my Smoke House can we do something about that can we handle that we don't go in there oh [Laughter] no we need a well over on this side of town too something something tells me a well on this side of town would be a good idea The Smoke House is safe time to go on break there we go all right all right uh it's expensive we really need to get some money in this place I don't know what I don't know another way of getting money well I guess I do know once we get these upgraded we have we'll have money in really especially when it first came out it was real heavy on making sure that you had trade trade was a big deal and uh I think they toned that down a little bit people are complaining about it there we're at 47 which is kind of low especially since we just went through a uh Clover Clover year but if it gets fertilized this year well did it just get fertilized CU at 54% now maybe I need another this this stuff might be a bit a bit much um I could switch out do have quite a bit of weeds as well and we'll let it be for a little longer hey that last how's it going geralt oh he he almost
