It is said, the first being was the sum of all things good and evil. Light and dark. Physical and mystical. Joy and sadness. The one cast off does not simply disappear. And that darkness the primeval Welcome back
everyone, it's Charlie. Marvel just announced the brand new Galactus during the new Fantastic
Four movie I don't think it was somebody
anybody was expecting, but it's an amazing actor. It's a huge win for them. There have been so few the last couple of years,
but this is a big win for them. Galactus is meant to be a huge character
during the movie, literally and metaphorically. There'll be a couple villains during the movie,
like Doctor Doom is going to appear during the movie. A couple of their lesser or Fantastic
Four villains from the comics will appear. Galactus is just meant to be one of the bigger villains
in the actual story itself. so we'll break it all down. And Galactus is origin story
because his origin connects with a lot of what Marvel is doing right now
heading into Avengers six Secret Wars. It also gets into the origin of the Infinity
Stones, too. Like, there's an interesting connection
between those two things. if you're brand new to the channel, be sure
to subscribe to get all the videos they're ramping up. That's why they're making so many announcements
about the Fantastic Four movie right now. if you haven't seen the news recently,
Marvel just cast Ralph Ineson as the new Galactus. Some of you will remember. He previously starred in the first Guardians
of the Galaxy movie as one of Yondu Ravagers. This is him in the background here. he was only credited as a Ravager pilot during that. So his character didn't even have a name. just a super tiny role in comparison. making as many size puns as possible here. but he now joins a list of actors
who have played multiple Marvel characters. Probably the most famous example is Chris Evans,
because we're talking about the Fantastic Four movie here, and he was Johnny Storm, Human Torch
in the original Fantastic Four movie. we've also started to see lots of Easter eggs
for those original Fantastic Four movies in Deadpool and Wolverine. So I would not be surprised
if Chris Evans also has a Human Torch cameo during that. most people,
when they think of Galactus in the live action movies, they think about those original Fantastic Four movies
in the awful, awful cloud version of Galactus. I am expecting some kind of joke
about that in Deadpool and Wolverine. Maybe they'll confuse Elias
for that cloud version of Galactus. Like, is that Galactus?
No, no, no, that's something totally different. Ralph Ineson is mostly known as a character actor
who's been in a ton, a ton of really big stuff. like he was in the Harry Potter
Deathly Hallows movies as Amicus Caro. he was on Game of Thrones for several seasons. Is Dagmar Clef job
one of the Ironborn serving under Theon Greyjoy when he led his revolt against Winterfell
before Ramsay Bolton captured him. he's mostly known for doing drama roles,
but he's also done comedy too. He was on the original British version of The Office. The list is endless, though. Like his IMDb is a mile long. He's been in everything. This is him in the creator. This is a good example of what his live action roles
actually sound like, and he sounds amazing. For someone like Galactus. that deep, rumbling, low voice is just perfect
for someone like Galactus. the other major thing you have to remember, because we're talking about Galactus here,
the role will largely be a combination of just pure voice over and motion capture,
bringing things back around to that terrible cloud version of Galactus
and that original Fantastic Four Silver Surfer movie. he never actually spoke in that movie. But in all the comic book and animated
versions of Galactus that tried to be more comic book accurate, he looked more like a celestial sized man
in a giant suit, and he actually spoke. The scales are getting better. All is as it was. I know, there'll be a bunch of questions
about how Galactus is different from the Celestials. Is he more powerful than the Celestials? I'll get into that later in the video. Galactus is not meant to be a celestial. He's a totally different type of cosmic entity. He started life as a humanoid then was eventually
evolved into this state that you see here. Which is why he still kind of looks like a person. what they'll probably do
in the new movie is just mostly go voice over, but make his facial features
look similar to Ralph innocence underneath that helmet. maybe if we get Galactus, his full backstory
in the movie, or flashbacks to his origin story, he'd be the original human sized version of Galactus
when he was still Galen of Ptah, the scientist. as it just so happens, one of Ralph Ineson
specialties is voice over only roles. He just did Final Fantasy 16. He did a ton of voice over for Diablo four
as the Lorax character. this is, what his voice overall sound like,
and they sound even better than his regular live action roles. carved three soul stones from pieces of the world stone crystalline prisons designed to contain
the malignant essence of a primeval sapphire from the fist of Herodian found masses still,
and after much struggle, imprisoned them. amber for bayo and crimson for Diablo. his voice has that quality to it
that makes him sound fearsome enough that if Galactus showed up and sort of talking to you
in that voice, you knew you were screwed. RIP planet. there's been a lot of speculation
about why Marvel is setting the new Fantastic Four movie, mostly in a different universe. It's not supposed to take place in the regular 616 MCU. Maybe there'll be like a post-credits scene
referencing the main MCU, but the whole backstory of this version of the Fantastic Four
is that they come from an alternate universe. They had their origins story, they got their powers
during the early 1960s on their Earth. They've already had a ton of their adventures
from the original Fantastic Four comics face a ton of their villains, like they've already faced their version of Doctor Doom
and become huge celebrities in the process. sort of the way the Avengers became celebrities
after the events of the first Avengers movie in the MCU, so regular people
running around on the street became huge fanboys of them, like Spider-Man, was a huge Avengers
fanboy before he got the spider bite. Same thing with Kamala Khan. Before she got her powers. She was a big Avengers fan girl. it seems like based on some of these Easter eggs
in the first look that they released, that the movie will be set sometime
after Kennedy's assassination. In part of the movie, will adapt the coming of Galactus
storyline from the original Fantastic Four comics. During that, the Fantastic Four face the Inhumans. Yes, that's right, the Inhumans. everybody wondering
if we're going to see them again in the MCU. their battle causes a massive explosion
that Silver Surfer detects across the universe. Learning of the power on Earth,
he leads Galactus to Earth to feed on it. His whole main task as his herald,
is to find energy rich worlds for Galactus to feed on. That's why he's known as the Hunger. his cosmic role is to basically consume energy
rich planets, dying planets so that more stars, more planets can eventually be
seeded, more new life can grow in their place. Technically,
it would be like a farmer doing a controlled burn on their fields to enrich the soil,
allowing the next crop to grow back. Even stronger. whereas the Celestials
main job kind of precede that their job are to create new suns, new galaxies
that can grow into full systems with planets. They can grow celestial seeds,
creating more celestials. So the Celestials job is essentially
to create more Celestials. But in order to do that, they have to create
more systems, more stars, more planets. so they kind of exist in a symbiotic relationship
with Galactus. in the comics, Galactus
usually gives Celestials a wide berth. If Galactus were fully topped off,
he could probably fight the Celestials. But the Celestials are meant to be like
one of the most powerful cosmic forces in the universe. Next to actual cosmic entities,
in most of the time, Galactus is not fully powered. his origin story in the movie. Seems like it'll be similar to his comic book origin,
and it ties in really well with the overarching multiverse saga
Marvel is doing right now. Their big Marvel reboot is happening after Avengers
six Secret Wars. both Galactus and the Infinity Stones were created in similar types of events
that are supposed to go down during Secret Wars. we kind of got into this
when the Eternals movie came out. I made a couple videos about it. Just because it gets into the origin of the universe,
the multiverse. during that movie version,
the judge gets into the backstory of the universe,
but he lies a lot about what actually went down. particularly
when he said that he created the MCU universe. That's not true. their origin,
the Infinity Stones origin, Galactus origin all goes hand in hand with the multiple
Big Bang Theory, which is based on a real life theory but the theory states
that you basically have the Big Bang. The universe is born,
it expands and eventually starts to contract. Once you start to have the heat death of the universe
in, eventually it'll contract back down to a single point
with so much mass that it causes another big bang. then the same process happens again over 100 trillion
years, like the next universe is born slowly. so essentially just keeps happening
over and over again. You have a cycle of big bangs. They just happen over many,
many hundreds of trillions of years Each time another big bang happens,
the next version of the multiverse is born, and so on. In the comics,
when a big Bang creates the new multiverse, the living entity
that embodies that is called a firmament. and during the comics. Galactus is from the sixth version of the multiverse. He was originally a scientist
named Galen, of one of the last living beings
to witness the heat death of his universe. His multiverse? he only wanted to observe things like he just had
curiosity and wanted to see what happened. Like the end of all reality as he knew it. when it starts to go down, he is contacted by the
living embodiment of that version of the multiverse. Like that firmament they make a bargain firmament. I've come to bargain. make all the Dormammu jokes that you want. their bargain is that they'll both combine
their essence to survive the death of their reality. Like the entire multiverse that they come from. so essentially, Galactus is the combination of Galen,
of tall humanoid scientists in the entire remnant power of this entire six
multiverse. that's why he's so powerful. The combined Galactus entity is basically hatched
in a special incubation chamber, while
the next Big Bang is in the process of going down. The released cosmic energy of that Big Bang
sort of acts as a catalyst for their transformation. soon as they're emerging from their little cosmic
incubation chamber, the Celestials are being born again. The Infinity Stones are being born again,
essentially are created again. I would say the Infinity Stones
backstory is a better comparison for Galactus origin story,
Because the Infinity Stones are the remnants of that previous version of the universe,
all distilled into six stones. So the six stones have the power of an entire universe
divided between them. Now Galactus is. Power levels always change
based on how much cosmic energy he's consumed, but at full power, like when he's totally topped off,
he can stand against the Phenix Force, which is basically one of the most powerful things
in the universe next to like the infinity Gantlet or the highest level cosmic beings
like the beyond the living Tribunal, the one above all. in the new Fantastic Four movie,
if it's closer to the original story for Galactus, he won't be fully powered when he shows up to Earth,
but still way more powerful than anything but the infinity Gantlet
that they've shown in the movies before. During that original story,
the Fantastic Four don't actually kill Galactus. They only convince him to leave
by using the threat of the Ultimate Nullify, which is also one of the most powerful weapons
in the universe. Created by the watchers back
when they were still a conquering race. Maybe we'll also see a live action
version of The Watcher during the movie. Again two. We saw them during Guardians of the Galaxy two. all the stuff with the watcher
we've seen the last couple of years has mostly been the animated version that Jeffrey Wright
has been doing, as you want to the main watcher that you see in the comics
that they also met during this original Galactus story. but I think the main reason for setting this Fantastic
Four movie in an alternate universe early theory here is, so that they can show you
what it looks like when the Fantastic Four lose. Galactus does wind up consuming the Earth. R.I.P Earth in an incursion
winds up destroying an entire universe like the Fantastic Four's universe
winds up being destroyed, but they survive somehow. Maybe also Galactus too.
And that version of Doctor Doom. There were all those Easter eggs for Doctor Doom and
Secret Wars during the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer. We'll see what they wind up
adapting from the comics for actual Avengers six. They tend to change the comics quite a bit, so I'm not expecting it to be a
1 to 1 copy paste kind of situation. but part of the idea is that this version
of the Fantastic Four will continue to be the main version of the Fantastic
Four going forward in Marvel Face Off after Secret Wars, so they have to wind up
surviving the death of their Earth at some point. but everyone post all your reactions in the comments
below. Honestly, I think it's a big W for them to get. Ralph Ineson I think he'll be fantastic version of Galactus
to make as many Fantastic Four puns as possible to. they'll be filming the movie this year. So we should get some actual footage
of what they actually look like. I know there's lots of questions about what it's actually going to look and feel like,
so we should find out pretty soon. Be sure to enable alerts for my channel
so you don't miss any of that. And big reminder that we also have
the X-Men 97 finale happening next week. Click here for my episode nine Video. It goes harder than pretty much any episode of X-Men you've ever seen before, and click here
for that other Fantastic Four teaser Thank you so much for watching,
and I'll see you guys in the next one!
