Family time on the farm

good morning everybody how you doing today my name's Andrew I'm K I'm Grammy I'm Daniel I'm man Becky I'm Matt and we're some of the veggie boys girl and we'd like to thank you for stopping by if you're new here please consider subscribing because we can grow a lot of stuff on the farm but one thing we can't grow is this channel without your help we're getting ready to head over to the farm and get our workday started but Cali had to make sure she got the most important piece of work equipment on show us the work outfit cie yeah that's what happens when you got to go to work you got to put the dress on right is that your working dressing dress yes now you guys have seen in the past few videos and for a while Lauren's mother has been up here with us for quite some time she's gone back and forth uh to Florida but she's been with us for chunk periods just trying to help us out mostly because Lauren has not felt well and we've been instructed by doctors for her to take it easy so it's been nice to have the extra help around the house I can usually manage pretty well I don't need much help but the fact that we've had to go through all the clothes and everything that we've gotten it's been nice to have Mama Bonnie here it looks like Matthew has been hard at work this morning he's almost got the farm market all set up he only has a few things in the cart that needs to be put out and then we are all good to go I was a little late this morning cie originally told me no store and then later on told me I want to go store so I had to change up my plans but things are looking really really good ever since they've changed the way we've had stuff set up out here I think this is for the better I like not having all the palletes all these little uh like containers that we're using it just it looks so nice so for breakfast today Grammy's actually made some biscuits like fresh biscuits so we're having sausage egg and cheese biscuits and I also had some biscuits and jelly Callie is in Eating Her breakfast with Grammy mom just got home with a load of beef the Milkman is here we got a few things going on everything that came uh for beef we have to pull out of the van and then stack on a pallet so Matt and I are going to work on that Matt and I just got all the beef pull out of the van and just in time because Dad is now home from the wholesaler [Music] [Music] hey Callie do you want to make cookies okay yes ooh over here you're going to be helping Grammy ready all righty okay what you want to do first look at that the cookie yeah you want to make one put it right there push down good job look at the little bunny you want to do a little kitty one put it here now push down on the kitty help Daddy push down push push push push push we have a little kitty y a castle got to push it down so you can get it out look at that I just had to show you guys that that is so sticking cute well Callie is going to keep working on cookies and I need to get heading down around back to start working on [Music] chores it's pretty sloppy down here but that's to be expected we had some heavy rainfall again I like it if things would dry out but I don't know if it's going to happen anytime soon [Music] [Music] f it's a little dark back here so it's kind of hard to see but all the feeders are completely empty which is a good thing we try to make sure we have plenty of feed but you don't want too much grain sitting in the feeders that means it's getting wasted grain is of the more expensive feeds that we have but if all the grain is gone that encourages them to eat silage and go out and Munch on the grass that is still available D just got finished dumping all the bedding in for the cattle pen is looking pretty good usually once we get finished off with dumping saus in here all the cattle start running around like crazy they weren't doing it today so I think that's a good thing maybe they're starting to calm down no not likely we got wild animals around [Music] here [Music] we felt like because it's been so sloppy this would be a perfect time to bet up the cattle Dad is working on that right now Daniel is standing over here watching the gate we did have a few cattle get out but we wrangled them that's why we like to call ourselves part-time cattle Wranglers we're not doing it all the time just just some of the time [Music] [Music] I've recently had a few people asking me what that clicking noise was in my videos when I'm down working by the cows and it's this piece of equipment right here this fencer we have an electric fence that runs around our entire pure and it starts right here so this machine or this piece of equipment very important important for helping keep the cattle in uh and it pulses that's why it's click click click so if you're hearing that in the background that's what it is it's the fencer dad is just about done with bedding up the cattle so I'm going to get moved onto the chickens just the other day we had put straw for the chickens so I think they're okay but we'll give them a good check if they need more bedding we'll just have to run up and grab some what's up ladies I have found that the chickens are much more receptive when you talk to them every day that's why I always say what's up ladies right when I say what's up ladies they know I'm they know it's me they know I'm here to work back up girls I don't want to hurt you oh is my hand big enough oh five in one hand that egg looks a little different and look at that we just got a beautiful basket of eggs I just went into the older land hens and I got all those eggs collected now some of you may be curious why we did not take all of the chickens to the auction at one time and there's a pretty good reason for that if we took all the chickens at one time we would have saturated the chicken market and uh we would not have got a good price for our layers that we have taken now off the top of my head I'm not sure what we got I think Dad may know if we can find him later on um but that's one of the things you have to watch out for and uh it gives us an opportunity to go to the auction next week which we may be looking just to see what they have there next week I I love going to auctions I didn't get to go this past time but Matt and uh dad got to go and they had a great time well not just Matt and Dad um Grammy actually went along with them too so all three of them were in the truck and they said Grammy really enjoyed herself being at the auction these chickens are probably wondering why I left this bucket in here oopsie I must have forgot it getting the cattle all bit up this morning was a job that Dad really wanted to take care of uh going into the weekend we just went everything nice and clean and dry now right now I'm in the sawada shed and it is getting a little low in here so we're really going to have to fill this thing up we had talked to the people that we get the sawdust from and we let them know that we'll take whatever we can get so hopefully we'll be able to get in there a few more times get this filled up as much as we can and there's a good reason why we want it filled up one it's just nice to have the bedding around but two we got some big things coming up oh you just wait just wait and see and uh yeah we're going to need a good stockpile of bedding good morning good morning everybody look at him he he is just a thick individual looking good M you [Music] too when you look through and see all the casts with their heads down in the bucket that's good dad and I just got finished with getting the animals all taken care of this morning we did do a few extra things um Matthew was down here bagging potatoes so we did pop in and check on him uh we got bedding put down for all the cattle so that's a big bonus and then something really really big we got done is hay dumped in for the cattle so they should be good with that for a few days they should be good with bedding for a few days and that makes it a lot easier easier on you when you head into the weekend because you know everybody likes to take it easy on the [Music] weekend perfect we got our little businesswoman over here running register hey how much is this got it got it this is a buet oh okay can I have my card back okay thank you I was talking with Dad about some things that we have to do today and he told me there's nothing we really have to do now when you hear that it's always a little weird to hear it on the farm something I wanted to make mention got just under an inch of rain yesterday so 3 Ines of rain earlier in the week plus that inch rain it makes things sloppy I wanted to take you guys for a little walk down to see what Joel has been up to we on this channel haven't been down in the horse stable in a very long time quick pit stop though check this out we got this all cleaned and rearranged it looks good now we haven't detailed this tractor just yet this one actually gets used pretty heavily through winter and that's because this is our main plowing tractor so if the snow is too deep for the skid steer loader to move it around or if we have so much snow the big tractor comes out and pushes everything but let's see if we can find Joel and see what he's up to today oh There's the Man I'm looking for what's up we hadn't been down in the stable in a long time and we wanted to come say hi and see what's going on oh okay nice nice yeah take them around Joel I don't really know what's been going on I only watch the video so I have no idea what are you saying I show everything I'm doing oh okay okay yeah we just were going for a little walk we got all finished with our work this morning you see that down there those are horses you're welcome breaking news we didn't do too much looking around I just wanted to see what Joel was up to this this morning and it seemed like he was getting done with his morning chores right when we were so that all just works out for the best all righty all righty for lunch today it looks like we are having grilled cheese sandwiches that's good I haven't had a grilled cheese in a really long time it's been too long well lunch just started I took two bites out of my sandwich and someone showed up and asked for 75 bails of straw so eating on the go got to open this door there we go didn't want to open is it push or pull that's push oh it's dark in here well you can't see much cuz it's so dark in here but uh yeah truck's backed up we're going to start throwing straw down it is kind of a bummer um that they showed up at lunch however you don't get many opportunities to offload 75 bells of straw so when the opportunity prevents presents itself we're going to sell the St now when you're stacking these barns you do it in layers so you try and make sure that each layer kind of interlocks with each other and what that will do is stop your pile from falling over at any point we could dig like a hole into this pile and it wouldn't fall because of the way we have everything interlocked I can see daylight that went kind of quick because everybody was there nobody was off working on another job because you know it this lunch time so now all we got to do is close these doors up we are good to go it's like a family reunion up in here Uncle Jeremy's here Uncle Trey is here this time of the year is nice because we're not too worried about being busy um so everybody can kind of enjoy each other's company a little more we spent a little more time here in the farm market it's been been relatively busy which has been nice had a few Farmers show up got to talk to them a little bit it's it's been fun I I don't think we really have too much else going on today the animals are all finished Farm Market's getting ready to close up this is the time of the year that we're not really used to relaxing a little bit it has been nice um but there's just something I want to show you quick so right now Greenhouse number four is kind of empty but we are thinking about moving a lot of the equipment back into here we've already got our pot filling machine love this thing this has been moved in but all these tables and everything that we have in here might be moved back a little bit more and we'll just take all of our pots all of our trays that we need to bring up and put them in here there's a lot of stuff that you end up moving once you get towards Spring and if you can take kind of the stress off of you that's just nice so I'm just trying to think of that stuff it's not easy trying to remember all at once what you need so that's why we try and get started on it a little early all righty everyone after we got finished with work we went home I'm hanging out with Cali Lauren mama uh just having a nice time it is getting late though and we need to get some food we're doing some takeout tonight it's going to be delicious but anyway since we're getting ready to go pick up our food that means this is where we're going to
