today I'll be showing you step by step how to download and automatically install an entire working mod list for Fallout 4 with hundreds of mods all in the right load order and working together and all of that just in a few clicks without any hassle of understanding how to actually mod a game as you guys know it's our Dream to make modding accessible to everyone and with the new Nexus mod manager Vortex that's now possible the beauty of this mod manager is that whenever we update the Fallout 4 mod list you'll get notified and then you can automatically update it with just the click of a button so this mod list is never going to be outdated or become broken in the future because it will always be kept up to date just like our Skyrim mod list and every other mod list we make this particular Fallout 4 mod list though aims to overhaul the game's Graphics textures and improve the AI it also adds loads of quality of life improvements and generally makes the game look incredibly beautiful but in the future we'll also be adding on separate mod packs that overhaul things like combat survival mode and much more but those will be separate optional modulus collections that you can add on that will be fully working with the core graphical mod list for Fallout 4. we basically want to make it as easy as possible for you guys to personalize your gameplay experience in whatever way suits you so make sure you subscribe for those future updates but in this video we're going to go over everything step by step including installing a fresh install of Fallout 4 setting up Vortex mod manager from scratch automatically installing the Fallout 4 script extender or f4se as it's also known and then also installing the entire a modulus collection which is honestly the easiest part and then finally we're going to go over how to install an ENB as well if you're wondering what kind of powerful PC you need to run this mod list you can check out our partners Apex link down below after buying my wife's PC at Apex I asked them to partner up with me so we could set up these custom PC builds for you guys as well these computers are also fully customizable so you can swap out any of the parts you like to suit your needs and then have them build it for you you can also get a discount by using the link in the description below starting out we'll be deleting Fallout 4 and any mods we previously had installed so we can begin completely from scratch as not to create any issues later so open Steam and find Fallout 4 right click on the name and then go to properties then click on local files and then press browse this will open up the Fallout 4 files you may already have some mods installed within this but what we want to do is remove everything so we can start from scratch and avoid any potential issues so come back to the file path at the top here and click on common and now you can see all the games that I have installed we want to click on the Fallout 4 file and then delete it and just so you know this does not delete your game saves your game save should be separately located in my PC my documents my games and then in the Fallout 4 file and as you can see the save games are in this folder now if you previously installed Fallout 4 script extender make sure you go ahead and delete that here as well as you can see all the save files are right here so make sure you don't accidentally delete that file now go back to steam right click on Fallout 4 and go to manage and uninstall press yes I'd like to uninstall it once it's uninstalled completely go back and reinstall Fallout 4. choose where you want to install it press next and it will start installing once Fallout 4 is reinstalled you can right click it again and go to properties and then go to files then browse and this is what a fresh install or Fallout 4 looks like so feel free to pause and compare and now before we do anything else we'll launch Fallout 4 at least once this will do a bunch of things such as setting up the game initially installing any creation Club content that you may have and so on because we're going to be using an ENB and some other mods that affect lighting later on we must click here on options and starting out just press Ultra graphic settings for the best settings possible and then we're going to increase the resolution depending on your PC specs to your own preference make sure that anti-aliasing is on TAA best quality that will smooth out the edges to make sure you don't get any Jagged pixels we're going to be using anisotropic filtering 16 samples as the max setting which reduces blurriness and visual artifacts I'm also going to be playing in Windows borderless so I'll tick that option as well however if you do experience any lag or stuttering I would recommend playing in full screen mode instead next we're going to click on Advanced just over here we're going to want to come down to ambient occlusion turn this onto Ultra just down here some enbs will require this to be turned off however secondly weapon debris should be turned off in unmodded Fallout 4. it'll actually crash the game but turn it back on later next we need to turn off rain occlusion and motion blur and then if you click up here on viewed distance currently this is all maxed out but if you're using a lower end system you can reduce these view distance settings for better performance the same can be said for resolution as well if you're struggling with FPS you can just turn it down to 1080p for example to increase performance next we're going to press play and make sure that you play the game before you install any mods this is extremely important at this point I always recommend starting a new game and just to do the prologue where you leave the Vault and you've just entered the Wasteland then make a few saves after leaving the Vault and then you're basically starting this mod list with a completely blank canvas a clean save will usually result in better performance as well alternatively you can just load your old character saves and then make a few new saves with the new unmodded version of Fallout 4. and then later you can just load these saves again after we fully remove modded Fallout 4 together our next step is to install Vortex which is a mod manager for Skyrim modding which is from the official Nexus mods site so if you click the link Down Below in the description you can find this and we're going to download the latest version of it which takes you to the vortex modding page and then you can scroll down and download the manual one-click installer now to download any mods for Skyrim you will need an account with Nexus mod so I'm going to log in then navigate to your download file and then you can double click Vortex and it will start installing so now you've installed Vortex and you've logged in Vortex will usually automatically find any games you've already got installed as you can see we have Fallout 4 here and it's currently got zero active mods if it doesn't don't worry we'll fix it in a moment before we install any mods though we need to go to the settings tab on the left here and there's two tabs here the mods Tab and the download tab now the download tab is whenever you download a mod with Vortex it will store it in a file that you choose down here these are the downloaded mods and they're just stored in packed up files and then the mods tab is where those mods will actually be installed now I've selected two different file locations for downloaded mods and mods that are installed now I would recommend that you choose a location where you're going to store these mods I've selected my local disk F Drive I've got a separate drive just for like storing mod and if I click on this you can see mod store downloads as a file I made and then I've got all the games so I'm basically telling Vortex to put all of my downloaded mods in this file here but I'd recommend not saving them on your local disk where you've got windows installed because it will just take up loads of memory on your computer and then secondly we're going to go to mod tab just up here and this is where the mods are actually installed in Fallout 4. so we're going to go ahead and open this file now I install my mods on a SSD which is the same SSD I have Skyrim installed this isn't essential but if I go over here you can see Vortex mods and then it's got all the games that I've been modding recently and if I click Skyrim special edition you can see currently there's no mods because we don't have anything installed but this is where it would extract the mod files and basically install them into the game so this is where my mods are stored and that's how I have it set up storage wise you don't need to do the same but I'm just showing you that next we would normally manually install the Fallout 4 script extender or f4se for short this can now be done automatically in our next step which makes your life a lot easier so next we'll be installing the entire model list collection automatically including the Fallout 4 script extender to do this click the link below which will take you to our website once there you'll find a link to the high-end mod list collection and another to the micro mod list which you'll be using if you have a lower end PC you can find the system requirements for each underneath each of the mod lists and on the right you also find our add-on mod lists which are optional extensions to our main mod list these will include overhauls to survival mode combat and other aspects of the game that work flawlessly with our other mod lists together I'm going to be using the high-end mod list because thanks to your support on patreon I have a Mega PC if you then scroll down on this page you'll find all of the mods listed in case for some crazy reason you want to install them all manually but I recommend installing it automatically in instead by clicking on this link which takes you to our mod list collection page once here firstly make sure on the top right that you're adding the latest version of our modelist collection via this drop down menu we'll constantly be updating and improving the collection based on your feedback and then just press add to Vortex Vortex will then pop up with this notification you can then choose to create a new profile where our mod list is installed separately to your main profile or personally this will just be my main mod list then we're going to press install now we're then going to go to the collection page which is a tab on the left here and as you can see it will automatically start downloading and installing all of the mod list and setting up the correct load order so you can just sit back and do nothing however if you do not have a Nexus premium account you'll instead get a pop-up for each mod that you install stool that will then link you to the mod page where you can download each file individually using the vortex mod manager like this this obviously takes a lot longer to do but it's completely free my suggestion however would be to instead pay Seven dollars to upgrade to premium for a month then install the entire mod list and just cancel your membership once you're finished however I am not getting a share in any sales from the Nexus for you signing up to premium membership or anything so it makes absolutely no difference to me what you decide to do so at this point it will auto download and install all of these mods and sort out the load order and fomod selections automatically and so on in the collections tab along the bottom here you'll see the percentage of the collection that's been downloaded so far as well as how much of it has been installed as well which will give you an idea of how long it's going to take towards the end of the auto installation Vortex will pop up with a notification to install Fallout 4's script extender if for whatever reason you miss it or cancel it by accident just go back to the collections tab press view on mod list Collections and then press the resume button on the bottom right of the collections Tab and it will pop up again the notification says that Vortex is about to open an external web page and you're going to go ahead and press continue and then it's going to show you to the Fallout 4 script extender or F4 SE the script extender is needed for a lot of different mods that make changes to AI animations Quest mods and tons of other script Changers it is pretty much Essential for any complex Fallout 4 mods once you get to this page right on the top here you'll see the Fallout 4 runtime and then it will just be the latest version here it may be a different version for you because Bethesda sometimes still update the game randomly so just click on the 7 and Zed archive right here like so and now as you can see it's going to be downloading and installing Fallout 4's script extender automatically without any of the previous hassle we used to go through after doing this you may need to resume the mod list at the bottom here just go ahead and press the play button to resume the downloading and installing of the mod list as you can see on the bottom left here it will then tell you the active download just here and if you go on the download tab on the top left hand column you'll then see your download speed at the top here the Fallout 4 texture packs are probably going to be the last thing you installed just because they're so huge after everything is installed it will then say collection installation complete if you come back to the collections Tab and double click on it you'll get brought to this screen if there's ever an update you'll just be able to click update over here or you'll see it in your notifications on the top right of vortex it's always good to check if you have the latest version also if you get a notification saying loose files may not be loaded just press fix to resolve this if f4se is installed correctly it'll work now very importantly every single time you now launch Fallout 4. you no longer want to do it from Steam you're actually going to come back over here to Vortex and then go to the dashboard at the top here and you can either launch Fallout 4 using this dot exe Fallout 4 script extender shortcut from the top corner here or alternatively if you scroll down on the dashboard at the bottom in the toolbar you will find the Fallout 4 script extender launch button it's important that you launch this version of Fallout 4 otherwise the script extender won't work however if you press the three dots over here you can press set as prime rate so let's press play now in order to check if the script is extender is working we're going to press the at sign or apostrophe sign on the bottom right of the keyboard and then the console command window will pop up like this type in get F4 version and then press enter and as you can see it now tells me the Fallout 4 script extender version that is running and if this comes up you know that it's installed correctly and we can carry On To The Next Step the next and final part of this tutorial shows you how to install an ENB and an ENB preset in be completely transforms the graphics and lighting of Fallout 4 to make the game look truly next-gen and really change the feel of how the game looks so firstly we need to download ENB series which is required for any ENB to actually work so if you click the link in the description and then come to this page and scroll down you'll find a list of games of which Fallout 4 is listed just here so we're going to click click on Fallout 4. you then want to download the latest version which is 0.468 for me however make sure you click on the most up-to-date version and then you can find the download link right at the bottom of the next page just over here so just click on that and ENB series for Fallout 4 will start downloading the second thing we need to download is an ENB preset you can install any ENB preset you like but we have actually made our own available from the link below the ultimate immersion EMB is specifically tailored to the weather variants that we're using in our mod list once you arrive on this page scroll down and you can download it from this link right here next we must install the ENB series for fallouts 4 which we downloaded earlier to open this packaged file you must use 7-Zip or WinRAR I personally use winrom but if you don't have it installed you can download it from the link below in the description once you arrive on this page page click on the download link just here and then click on the download link at the bottom here not the buy one click the download one and then it will start downloading just on the top here if you then double click the installation file you can go ahead and install WinRAR once WinRAR is installed you can then right click on EMB series Fallout 4 and then you can go to open with WinRAR it will come up with a notification to say please purchase WinRAR license but you can just press X on this you never actually have to buy it it's completely free to use once this is open we're going to click on the wrapper version just here next hold down the control button and then select the following file d3d11.dll and d3d compiler underscore 46e dot dll we're going to right click on these and say copy files now we're going to open up steam again and go to Fallout 4 right click on it and then go to to properties and then click on local files just here and then click on browse this is going to open up the game's data folder as you can see and once here we can then right click and click paste and now we've installed EMB series next we must install the ultimate immersion ENB for Fallout 4. that's right Schumer if you're installing a different EMB make sure you check the installation instructions open the file and then copy everything the ENB series folder and then the ENB local and ENB series file and then paste them all into the Fallout 4 file it will then ask you if it can override them and you should say yes now we've successfully installed the ENB but I should also mention while we're in the Fallout 4 folder we can actually create a shortcut to launch Fallout 4 with the script extender just find the f4se loader.exe in this folder right click on it and then go to create shortcut just down here it will then create a shortcut to the Fallout 4 script extender loader and if you just go ahead and drag it onto your desktop now every time you double click this you'll launch Fallout 4 with the script extender enabled instead of having to go all the way to Vortex go to the dashboard and then go to the Fallout 4 script extender launcher but now we've installed the whole model is so let's go ahead and launch Fallout 4 because there's still some final things we need to do and if this text with ENB series appears on the top left then you know that you've installed it correctly and ENB is indeed working so now we're going to go ahead and jump into the game because there's some final Corrections we actually need to make so I'm going to go ahead and load that new unmodded save I made previously from when I left the Vault so once you load into Fallout 4 you'll have this announcement message pop up welcome to natural and Atmospheric Commonwealth firstly just click on Knack hard tape at the bottom here and then instead of going launch default climate you're going to want to click on keep vanilla climate because that's what the ultimate immersion ENB is created around so click that now if you also go ahead and open up your Pip-Boy and you go to inventory and then go across to miscellaneous just over here at the top you'll find The Knack holotape and also better companions configure iterations these basically how these are basically mod settings that can be changed in game so for example the NAC holosafe if we click on that you can change the weather and climate back from vanilla if you wish you can also set the time scale and most importantly here under Knights and interior settings if you click on that you can actually change the knights so that they're brighter and same with the Interiors you can make them brighter or darker so if I click on brighter nights just here you'll see now it says right tonight one if I click that again it will then go to Brighton nights 2 which makes it even more bright so you can adjust the darkness of nighttime or Interiors yourself on this menu however this is just the core graphical mod list we'll be creating other mod packs in the future that also Auto install for different optional gameplay changes like Extreme Survival mode with camping combat overhauls and balancing changes and all of these are going to be separate modulus collections that will function with the mod list that you just installed so you can easily pick and choose what other editions you want in your game based on your own preference so subscribe for updates on those projects or check out our website to check if they're out already but before you go if you're an advanced modder I should also mention that you can further customize this mod pack by changing the faux mod selections all you need to do is simply uninstall a mod you want to change and then reinstall it and then the faux mod options will come up and you can change it to your own personal preference like no underwear you naughty little battle brother but if you found this video helpful please do drop a like on it and a huge thank you to both ultimate immersion and Ducks without them this mod list would have not been possible to create it took many months of work and Ducks it's already working on the next mod list from another Bethesda game if you want to support the project you can also donate on our website via the link below thank you so much for the support
