Fairly OddParents 10 Years Later | Butch Hartman

hey art fans okay it all started with this drawing right here but now let's see what the fairly oddparents would look like ten years later check it out [Music] okay first up is going to be Wanda you all know Wanda Timmy's fairy godmother with the big pink hair well the high voice like this one is actually based on several different characters when I was first designing her I wanted her to have some iconic look to her I wanted her to kind of look special I was coming up with her hair I thought you know I really wanted to have kind of a unique look and I remember watching The Flintstones as a kid and Willow Flintstone had this big bun in the front of her hair I always would always look at that and thought wow that's really an interesting shape and so I thought hey I'm gonna you know adapt that shaped my own character Wanda so I did that then one is original hair color was originally going to be blue her name was Venus number one but I wanted to change both because I thought Wanda was better because you know magic Wanda she has a magic wand the blue hair just wouldn't stand out in front of Timmy's bedroom walls Timmy's bedroom walls were blue and one is blue hair would have vanished against that blue color so I decided to make it pink voila you have yourself a fairy godmother Wanda okay well first off Wanda ten years later I kept thinking what can I do what can I do because fairies you know they don't age you know they are immortal they can kind of look over they want but I I guess if we've got to kind of suspend our disbelief for this video we've got to let the fairies be able to age and let them just change their look whatever they want so I thought I would do the Cheryl Hines version of Wanda from the 2010 Nickelodeon live-action movie fairly on movie grow up timmy turner this is sort of the Cheryl Hines version of Wanda as a fairy and she's kind of got that side swirl on her hair if you look at the images from the movie she has kind of a cool hairdo and she has kind of a long Philly address and this is what she would look like with some more human proportions you know kind of Cheryl Hines done now Timmy's getting older we'll reveal him later but so what I would probably want to look a little older to kind of go along with Timmy and maybe she overshot a little bit maybe she I thought you know I'll go ten years oops I went 80 years so this is sort of Wanda aged a little over the ten years oldest she's sort of a grandmotherly look instead of one swirl apparent she's got three she probably has a little sweater on with a little dress a little cane to help her kind of float through the air and of course these I'm sure these are false teeth in well these can't be your real teeth so this is sort of Wanda as a little bit older than 10 years and she kind of you know a little bit okay this next one I thought Wanda you know aging yourself up she wouldn't really know how to do it she might want to look around and say how do I make myself look older what do I do here and no so she gets a look at Timmy's mom and goes aha and so she sees Timmy's mom's got a little bit longer legs than her mom kind of wears a just a regular shirt wanna tries a different hairstyle she does some little mom hair on the sides of her ears here and so this is sort of Wanda combined with Timmy's mom a little more human proportions but you know just giving yourself a different look so this is Wanda / Timmy's mom 10 years later all right so this version of Wanda I figured you know okay so baby poop is getting older right he's he's he's 10 years older as well so Wanda needs something to take care of so of course what does she do she gets a cat and you know no cat person is happy with just one cat so she gets a second cat and then third cat and before you know it Wanda 10 years later has become a full-on full-fledged 100% crazy cat lady okay one more version of Wanda 10 years later is I think you know Timmy's Llorona poop has grown up Kosmos off doing whatever 10 year old or fairies do and so I think wanna just cut me got tired of you know trying so hard I think she just you know one day woke up it's a gentleman to keep my bathrobe on and I'm gonna keep my crows in my hair and you know what I'm gonna gain 40 pounds and I think that's probably what this would look like the good news is she's magic and can always wish it away if she wants to I want to say age I don't really mean age like she's getting older but I think she just like I've adopt a different more mature look like instead of her hair going up away from her head maybe it drops down a bit she would just want to kind of maintain that 1950s retro look she's got what she you know does so well instead of a yellow top and black pants she'd probably go for a black top with yellow pants just for the heck of it instead of one big swoop on her head she'd go for the three land down on her head she just wants to go for it and she you know whatever what she wants you know Wanda being the lead fairy and wanted to keep a sense of reason I always wanted to draw in our dress and I drew some drawings of her in a dress which I didn't really care for but I wanted us to keep her like in a pantsuit that she has so this is Wanda 10 years later all right next up is everybody's favorite green haired fairy Cosmo all right Cosmo is one of my all-time favorite characters to draw not that Wanda's not I love one to play Cosmo there's something special about him when I first created Cosmo he wasn't gonna be in the show it was just gonna be Timmy and Wanda having a boy with his fairy godmother but I never seen a fairy godfather before so I thought it'd be kind of cool to add a fairy godfather to the mix and that's where Cosmo came in and Cosmo is kind of looked the same his whole incarnation started with green hair he still has green hair I always had the tie I just shaved off the bottom of the time you see the drawing back here his ties kind of pointy at the end he always has a long-sleeve white shirt I don't know why I did that again it was kind of 50s vibe I was going for Cosmo is if his voice though is the thing that's changed the most his voice and his personality because he's sort of started off with a you know kind of a used car salesman voice I had daran Norris come in and we started doing the boys more like hey whoa hey baby he was sort of like that almost like a newscaster and then we sort of kind of kept evolving and evolving him and the bothering you but eventually he's became kind of a total and the Dumber we made him the funnier guy so Cosmo this is you pal and thank you for all of the laughs over 20 years all right so like I said with fairies they are immortal and they don't age and they can kind of be any age they want but like I said with Wanda she saw Timmy aging so she thought she'd ain't yourself up to go along and the same with Cosmo Cosmo is gonna just keep trying new looks over the course of ten years to see which one he likes the best so here's the first look this is kind of beatnik Cosmo hey baby yo yo man that's a guess and I gave him a little tiny beard here you know I got a little kind of a goatee he's got like the the turtleneck here like he's in a jazz club but he's just swinging baby swinging man and I gave him some cool glasses that don't help his vision but help him pretend to be smarter which you know you couldn't get a pair of glasses big enough for that anyway so this is that version of Cosmo this is beatnik Cosmo yeah man right so Cosmo like I said he can change his look you know he's gonna try and look 10 years older to kind of keep up with Timmy so I think it's kind of funny he goes well you know human temper seeding hairlines I think I'll give myself one yeah chicks love Zapp so it gives himself a receding hairline and kind of wears the 1960s dad sweater you know a little v-neck and I think as he's getting older some of his energies kind of waning he's getting you saw energetic but he wants to get his energy back sweet has a giant cup of coffee with him at all times highly caffeinated of course so this is Cosmo this is caffeinated conservative Cosmo this is old man Cosmo because like Wanda he thought he aged himself up ten years but I think he went like a hundred and ten years no because he's Cosmo so this is Cosmo like aged 110 with suspenders and a hearing aid all of his hair is gone and he's just bald and he can't here take mine but and so he's got this cane but you know he's he's an older fairy but he's just so charming and just so loveable I would I probably put him in the movie up if I could now this version here I want to have a little fun because of the live-action fairly odd movie grow up timmy turner in 2010 we had Cheryl Hines and Jason Alexander star as Cosmo and Wanda as real people so I just thought I would draw Jason Alexander in The Fairly OddParents tile as Cosmo with his little swirly haired wig and his little sweater vest that he had on little buttons you know and this is Jason Alexander as a version of Cosmo I guess this would be ten years later but I just wanted a joy because it's cool okay now this I think is one of the ultimate versions of Cosmo ten years later you know he's kind of got slicked back old man hair fuzzy eyebrows they're kind of getting a little little you know shaggy there but the main thing about Cosmo ten years laters and he'd have his nickel Philip and Philip would have aged up to quarters so this is Philip and Cosmo ten years later and Philip twenty five cents ma'am nice going you know so in this one I thought I would just do Cosmo is an older guy but I've already drawn them glasses many many times I did them in father time Fairly OddParents a long time ago when they were hippies and I was doing the blue line of the glasses here and I thought well I'll just bail on that they've already seen that before but again the fairy stone age so making them ten years older is kind of tricky because the fairies kind of aged the way they want to and I thought just Cosmo was just gonna go full on stereotypical dad here he's gonna have a receding hairline the hair on top will go back to the back like the ponytail and they'll have like a fairy mugs and I'm the world's greatest fairy dad and III don't even think that's a coffee in there I think it's just a big cup full of smoke that's kind of magic so this is Cosmo ten years later okay and baby poof one of my favorite characters to draw mostly because he's so simple it's just a circle one of the cool things about baby poop we introduced him in the episode fairly eyes baby back in 2008 it ended up being our highest-rated Fairly OddParents episode ever we got a gigantic rating on that because everybody loves babies I guess they tuned in for him I just want to thank you all out there for doing that but poof's introduction was a big epic moment for Fairly OddParents designing poof was interesting because we didn't really know how to design him every time we tried to design them like a regular fairy he looked too old and then one of my artists just ended up taking the body off leaving the head if we just thought he's just a head would with with legs and arms and he's kind of like a frog like that side we like oh that's how fairies that's how fairies grow you're set up as a head then the body forms this kind of dangles off like a little like a little bell clapper and before you know it we had the proof design and really had a good time with that so this is baby poo alright an aging proof up ten years I gotta be honest with you there's so many possibilities I didn't really know where to start he's sort of looking like just a regular 10 year old boy here you know a lot of fun swoopy hair I've really wanted to keep that key shape in his hair the letter P now if you notice babe move has a or PE on top of his head it's his hair but we kind of snuck a little pee in there for poof and give him a little striped shirt his crown of course and it's one easy move from a rattle to a wand so this is version one of poof as a ten-year-old boy kind of getting into it now another version of poof as a fairy boy and this is it this is what uh you know this is your standard fairly oddparents design poof would have probably bigger eyes than cosmo or wand a little bit big swoopy hair I gave you suspenders you know because it seems like it's a thing a kid would wear the suspenders a little star and shirt to emphasize the fairness of him so this is another version of poof as a ten-year-old boy he is so cute version three poof I think we're going to give him attributes of everybody in this one he's gonna have a Cosmo hair point and then I'm Wanda hair swirl then I'm gonna give him a Timmy Turner hat instead a little floating ball on Timmy's hat that won't put a crown out there and he's got a backpack I think he wears for school we put a pea on his shirt for poof and then I think he'd have to have a cell phone because all cool kids have cell phones now so he's got a little fairy cell phone with him and this is kind of a cooler more hip pouf if he was a 10 year old boy all right so this version of poof like I said before you know when fairies grow their bodies he showed up as a head and then the body kind of just dangles down almost like a tadpole like frog so I thought we'll just draw a poof as he's in mid body drop MBD mid body drops and this is sort of a stretched out version of poof his eyes are really big his body's kind of elongated and he's got the little wanda hair swirl up there and this hey I really like this version he gets really funny so this is another version of baby poof at age 10 okay poof he was the biggest challenge of all because 10 years later I don't think 10 years is a very long lifespan your life is a fairy I don't think a lot of change happens to them but I do think that in the case of poof was a baby fairy for quite some time and for the sake of this video since I've got to age them up a little bit I thought I'm gonna have to do something with them so I wanted to kind of do a mid-range fairy aging drawing where I think all fairy start off is a little ball like like poof is that that's their head and then their bodies kind of drape off of them like a tadpole so this is kind of poof let's say poop was gonna become Cosmo eventually this is poof moving from his little ball fairy soap into the Cosmo or Wanda fairy so where they have a head with a body of it Keith now is developing his body and his giant head is now kind of you know slowly pulling down like it almost like a teardrop coming in somebody's eye or like a drop of water the body's starting to form so I took the the poof hair the letter P shape and of course as his hair is getting longer he's eating more hair on his head he's gonna happen nose and a mouth more like Cosmo and Wanda his eyelashes are still there because he's still young and I definitely wanted to keep some some kidness about him some teenagers about him so this is poof he's got like a cool iPhone with his a ear phone inside this year and this is just kind of you know poof he's got purple hair which is not a Cosmo or Wanda color it's a nice combo of both baby-proof ten years later okay here we go last but not least everybody's favorite buck-toothed pink cat wearing ten-year-old timmy turner but when I suppose coming up with Timmy I didn't have a name for him what am I gonna name this guy I was gonna name him after my brother Mike but we had a fight that day so I've decided to mmm for my my other brother Timmy Hartman so this is named effort Timmy Hartman and I was gonna call him Tim Taylor but there was a show on back then called home improvement and Tim Allen's character was named Tim Taylor so I couldn't even that so I thought the next best name was Turner so he became to return I always liked the alliterative names like Clark Kent Peter Parker Timmy Turner I always thought that was really cool so that is how Timmy Turner came about all right now how do you age up timmy turner how do you age him to be you know 10 years older we've aged him up in the show several times as a 16 year old European supermodel and love at first height he was future Timmy and channel chasers like a superhero buff version of himself we've aged him up a lot in the show so try to come up with original ideas for Timmy aging up it's kind of a challenge but anyway here's the first one I thought since timmy turner is Timmy's dad's son he would kind of look like Timmy's dad aged up a little bit so this is Timmy age 20 kind of a lie elongated his face his teeth are still a little bit overgrown and I kind of get my long lanky body just like Timmy dad you tell you would become and he's got longer hair of course cuz he still kind of got that kid mindset this is one version of Timmy Turner aged up 10 years just like the dad all right this next one even more of a body that looks more like a human body like years got longer legs he's kind of filled out in the in his body a little bit a little more muscular and of course you can have a little bit of facial hair a little scruff here and I thought this point is like if he still got braces to straighten his teeth out so I had the braces on there here's a little bit Shaggy and he's gonna kind of a confident look you know he's growing up he's finding his way in life and of course hairy arms come on so this is another version of Timmy years later okay when you're doing something like this trying to ease your character up I character you've been drawing for 20 years yeah you just kind of go for it I was just kind of going for anything here I thought we just age him up keep his hair long his teeth are still a little overgrown had some facial hair on to him again I put my kind of a goofy pose like hey I'm ready to rock and roll everybody so I think this is total nerd to me this is the Timmy that would go to a comic-con that's what I think and so you know he's wearing shorts with the long sleeve shirt and just kind of going out there and just trying to try for us Willie who knows what this is another version of Timmy and just cuz I was having fun doing this I wanted to take the Drake Bell version of Timmy turn of a live-action version of him from the fairly odd movie grow up timmy turner 2010 I thought it'd be a lot of fun just draw Drake as Timmy Turner so this is Drake Bell sort of sketched out as Timmy the way he appeared in the movie my cartoon version of him I think Drake did a really great job and a lot of fun casting Drake and we had such a great time we did three movies together we did the first one the second one was fairly on Christmas then we did the third one freely at summer and just had a great time doing all of them so Drake this one is for you this version of Timmy Turner is based on the Timmy Turner design from the very first episode of The Fairly OddParents series the big problem where Timmy wishes he was older with an ease of being older than fatter with no hair and a 5 o'clock shadow and so this is kind of a little bit before that version right before he got there this is Timmy kind of letting himself go he's getting a little bit of weight he's eating constantly his hair is kind of receding and yeah this is just what Timmy would look like if he was a little bit older and wasn't really watching his waistline that this version is based on a design from the oh brother episode of Fairly OddParents where Timmy geisha gets an actual brother named Tommy Turner played by mr. Jason Bateman who did an awesome job also this version is based on Timmy Turner at age 18 from channel chasers I kind of combined the two this is basically jock Timmy Timmy grows up he's in college he joins a sport in this case football or maybe it's just for 10-foot folks it is only a drawing but anyway Timmy this is jock Timmy he's a little buff he's got kind of a little chin going on there his teeth have straightened out his hairs a little shaggy a little 5 o'clock shadow but yeah this is what jock Timmy would look like and you know what I think he might just succeed in football you've got fairies after all so you know he might just be pretty good at it however this he loses the ferry so he just might be a terrible football player I don't even know okay this one now I thought it would combine Timmy Turner with you know myself because I already did one where Timmy Turner looks like his dad but he's kind of really descended for me cuz I'm the one who created him so this is Timmy Turner combined with Butch Hartman ten years later it's a lot going on here it looks a little like rip Studwell meets timmy turner because there said well is also based on on me as well so fortunately for all of us though this is the only place we'll ever have to see this drawing okay and of course we know that when Timmy first got his fairies one of the first wishes he made was to go into a comic book and read Crimson Chin maybe Crimson Chin and become his you know sidekick cleft the boy chin wonder well 10 years later timmy is still fighting crime with the Crimson Chin only now he's cleft the mansion wonder so you know he'd have a much longer body more manly legs manly arms I mean just really buffed out so this is Timmy Turner as cleft the man chin wonder this is just Timmy as just a grown up dude just a grown up dude you know just hairy arms little hair in the face kind of shaggy hair he's 20 years old he's getting bigger he's getting better he's getting you know just more manly more filled out and you know regular legs and longer pants and yeah so this is another version of Timmy 10 years later so finally the weird part is drawing timmy turner you know a lot of the other sketches I did were a lot more extreme than this I kind of went you know from one extreme to the other but in this sketch I decided to keep a lot of what Timmy really is I didn't really deviate too far from his actual Timmy self I am you know I kept the the buck teeth even though he's 10 years older than 10 he's 20 years old it still has to kind of look like him and the weird thing about this is that timmy turner has actually been in my life for 20 years I mean when I say this is fairly oddparents ten years older timmy turner's actually 20 years older because he started off 20 years ago in my mind and having him be around in my life for so long it was really awesome so it I think I'm gonna have to do eventually a fairly oddparents series where we do the entire clan 20 years old and then what do you guys think all right The Fairly OddParents so close to my heart all right we actually aged above 10 years which version of which character was your favorite movie favorite leave a comment down in the comment section below also what other characters you want to see me age up 10 years 20 years 30 years some of my characters some other characters out there again let me know it'd be a blast to draw them all right on the big board this week we've got all the fairies up here I think and we just did a whole video about fairies and of course where there's fairies there's mr. cracker so we're gonna draw him on the board here we go ah all right hey heart fans subscribe here to keep up with me Danny Timmy Dudley bunsen and the news network my new app full of cartoons shows and games downloaded here click over here to watch my most recent video and here to start a playlist related to this video whoa check out the awesome fan art to be featured here use hashtag hark fan art can tag me I'm on every social media platform known to man cartoon whooping ansel drop

I used to love this show as a kid, but stopped watching it as I grew up. I think it started to go downhill whenever they added that dog and baby fairy.

Cosmo was my favorite. I actually chuckled the other day when I was pumping gas because I saw a nickel on the ground and thought about Philip the nickel, haha.

That makes no sense, unless it is non cannon, as the cannon everybody in 10 years would look exactly the same!
