FA-18C Hornet vs JF-17 Thunder: BVR Battle & Dogfight | DCS

hello valued viewers I hope you're all doing very well a couple of weeks ago we did this battle f-16c versus jf7 it was a good fight but the F-16 smashed the jf-17 you guys made some requests of how to change the jf1 17 for the next battle this time though it's taking on the F-18 the two requests regarding the JF were first remove the fuel probe which slows it down slightly so we've removed the fuel probe as well as that we've allowed two different Loadout versions one with this twin sd10 rack which really slows the plane down and another version with just single racks and it's up to the boys which variant they want to run because we had real problems getting the JF up to speed the third idea you guys had is to make sure that we do Loft the aircraft when firing the missiles at long range and I'm pretty sure we did that in the previous battle but I'll make sure we do it this time as well well so otherwise it's the jf1 17 with either the twin Mount sd10 so that is four missiles or two missiles and the pl5 Chinese side winders and an internal Cannon starting 100 miles away everyone starting at 26,000 ft and 600 knots so nearly Mac 1 we have the f-18s they will be in this load out we're not going for full murder spec because it's really unrealistic to have 12 or 14 missiles or whatever it is and we won't need them anyway so we're going to six a120 C's the best missile that can carry in core game and two a9x side winders and internal Cannon we'll make sure we mix the teams around and mix skill levels because we are a mixed skill group and that's it we have data links enabled in terms of peer-to-peer and awax on both sides guys predictions who's going to win this battle and why think the Hornet's pretty pretty well Superior Roger well remember the F-16 really won last time because if it's amazing kinematics by the time it fired its first missile it was doing Mark 1.7 that allows a first really strong shot but also a really good chance of dodging a missile the F-18 as good as it is and is a very good plane does not have that kinematic ability so I think that's been a bit more ealed out that said at the end of the day it can go a bit faster and it can or is carrying more missile so you've got to go for the F18 in that case I think welcome round one uh myself Simba and dark are in Jeffs I'm in a four missile Jeff dark's in a four you in a two missile Simba a firm I'm going to go for Speed right so me and dark have got four missiles let's see what happens against Hornets push bird and cannonbolt guys I think they probably still have a better plane how we're going to do this well I'm going to I'm going to go ahead and hit an orbit to try and get speed so when I enter the fight I'll be at a high kinetic or the best kinetics I can get right so me that's dark uh what altitude do you suggest is best for firing initial shot Simba with this airplane I probably wouldn't get any higher than 30 cuz you're just not fast enough see we're running into poof what a great match guys I did get the Jeff up to Mark 1.3 no you did look at that Simba and I want to say that S10 almost gets to mark four so the question now is what's better uh 0.3 extra Mark yes it does it gets over mark four uh 0.3 extra Mark or an extra two missiles I'm going to take the two missiles guys welcome back um bird and cannibal don't have the Jeff so they will have to stick as Hornets today um I am now in a hornet so it's myself bird and cannibal versus dark push and Simba well their missile has the better range than ours it's just hard to get speed in this bird like in the F16 was to help with the Loft on your Am ram I I think if we stick together it I don't know if it will confuse their missiles but it may just make us a quick three three ship dead Roger well in 3v2 bird starts pummeling everything everyone on twiz gets push Simba gets double our initial plan was I was going to come in high and fast and turn at least two of you cold and then I was going to fall back and be the awax that fell apart before I could even get turned back nose hot strangely the only reason I managed to kill dark is cuz I had a radar malfunction or or I did something wrong with my radar and I got artificially close to him and that's how I got the kill um so it's weird so it would have worked otherwise zimba but that's just the LW of combat I've went into combat mode which is still not advisable and I burned through so much fuel in the beginning and uh the last like probably 5 minutes of the fight I was on less than 1,000 PB now this B this bit oh you were there you were there I knew it because it had I saw the Russian engine so I look behind me viewers right there I saw the Russian engine which is unmistakable and I said Cannonball I'm coming out to se shoot the thing coming out to se at that point Simba doesn't fall for it he turns away just as the missile is fired and it locks on to me and kills me but I did get hits on you then it was just a magic man hunt of everyone trying to find s and he kept nice and low oh look at that oh yeah it didn't register I don't know didn't kill him for some reason battle continues oh it it actually right behind him yeah hit right behind me so I took like Flack damage but it wasn't a direct hit and yeah I knew that you got they were going to try and pull me out to see and I was just like not happening and then I'm sure and then I heard I I saw the gunfire come from behind me and I'm like oh he's got to overshoot I spray got nothing for it deciding round myself and Doc are Jeff Simba and bird are horny it's all right so I just turned cold SYM ofies it me I fire at Simba both Dodge each other's missiles I uh goal was to try to single you out because we had you out to see I was trying to do the same to you uh dark fires everything pushes the everything button against uh bird I fire at Simba bird evade Simba outrun up by a mega Bunch I'm chasing Simba and I know he can't turn and he knows he can't turn uh so I'm coming for you now comes for me here's the error Simba should have just waited it out but he turns in hot I meant a shot he Fires at dark I take this shot he Al or or does he who no I I locked up dark mhm and then my missile changed to you oh that's what we were seeing with the um how about that modded missile the other day remember Simba when it just hooked and turned there you go that's that's that's the thing even if the friendly fire hadn't have happened I would have it would have been two on one at that point I don't think there's much better could have done because look he was squashed he had my sd10 hunting him right now too so three really good matches guys all for different reasons and you know mixing a matching pilot skill which we do it actually had the Jeff winning which I none of us predicted that question is why I felt that bog was better kinematically I could get faster I could turn harder and I could turn tighter the missiles as far as I'm aware about the same and you know I haven't measured them lately but let's assuming they're about the same avionics are about as good as each other close in bogs better it turns better and it's got a helmet Mount display but rarely did we actually get close in so why did the Jeffs win was it just that's what happened on the day I think it was just you know the situation um in that last match we were too split and you guys were in the right positions to help us um it's unfortunate that that Simba missile decided you know what this F18 looks better than that j17 certainly not a scientific oper observation but it looked like the uh the a220s were slowing down when they got into thick air quite a bit faster than the S10s were Jeffs were just out running them a lot of times like right there here's the interesting thing the F-16 thrashed Jeff and this is all the same Pilots but bog slightly lost to it isn't that an interesting thing I think there was an update to the m120 maybe that's yeah maybe that's changed it no also the F16 is just a better aircraft kinematically uh the radar is a lot nicer the twizz mode on the radar on the F16 is so much better than the F18 I reckon it's the speed of that F-16 because I remember them coming in at Mark 1.7 and going out a mark 1.7 flat now that's a hard thing to fight whereas the max in a level I saw uh an F18 was Mac 1.4 it's still Ian it's still better than than the Jeff but viewers I'll ask for your feedback we've done everything as fairly and squarely as we can there's not much sure what else I can do with that I hope you enjoyed
