Ezekiel's Vision | Ezekiel 38-39 | Mike Golay

so we have a guest speaker this morning his name is Mike Golay and he comes all the way to us from or comes to us all the way from Minnesota he tells me when he left home this week it was 17 degrees so stop your whining okay Mike is part of a ministry called behold Israel and how many of you have heard of behold Israel okay so there's a fair number of you but probably about half of you this will be new behold Israel as a ministry may be a name associated with it you would would know is a mere saathi if you've never watched any of his teachings online he he is excellent and the gentleman who's going to be speaking to us today is also just does a wonderful job at the subject that he's going to be talking to us about Michael lay joined behold Israel as the director of operations in September of 2019 before this Mike was a lead pastor for 16 years at a church in Minnesota in Shakopee Minnesota and the name of his church was friendship church and he's also a member of the Air Force Reserve he serves continues to serve today as a chaplain and he happens to be a mere Surfaris brother-in-law and so it's it's he's got some great insight and some great experience that he has gleaned over the years not just working with a mirror but he actually lived in Israel for eight years and that is where he met his lovely bride and he has led a bunch of teams over there to Israel while he was in Israel living in and around the Galilee he he did different types of ministry outreach one of which and probably one of the most effective things that I've ever heard of is the Jesus film project and so can you imagine doing that how much fun would that be showing that Jesus film where Jesus walked I mean talk about full circle it's pretty pretty exciting stuff and actually it was it was a ministry ad that was placed in the newspaper that led to a mears salvation and so it's really interesting how you know I think of what Paul said one man plants and other man waters God causes the growth and it's it's fascinating to look back over our lives and see how God brings people in our paths that ultimately lead us to him a couple of the things about Mike that are interesting to note is that he is proficient in Hebrew and he has of course having lived over in Israel quite a bit of experience with Jewish culture and he just has a love for the Bible and he has a love for the body of Christ and he has a love for Israel and and their role in Bible prophecy and so he teaches in churches and at conferences all over the country today and he and his wife Sharon have three children they reside in Minnesota I think I mentioned at the beginning but I want to tell you kind of what the mission of behold Israel really is and it's it's justthis it's to provide accurate reporting on Israel and current events based on God's written word and most importantly lead people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ here's what I like about that it's what is stated at the very end of that statement leading people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ I don't know if you've ever had this experience before but I have where people that know about prophecy and they study Bible prophecy and end times events and what's going on in the Middle East I find that there's kind of three camps that they fall into and I was talking the other day with a younger brother about this and he's and he actually pointed this out to me and he said you know there are three kind of groups that you can see people are afraid people who are confused and people who are right and he said right like air quotes and it's really true isn't it a lot of times when when we hear on this subject sometimes people can be a bit dogmatic about it and and and it's you know and sometimes that's part of what creates the confusion in fear what I love about Mike and his ministry the Ministry of behold Israel's I feel like it's very biblically solid and balanced and the message that that he brings he brings in a very bold but humble way and and he is gonna encourage you to be like the Bereans he's not gonna say take my word for it he's gonna say take God's word for it and so my my desire and having Mike come and share with us is he's really whistling the same tune he really wants everything to be tested by the Word of God and he's going to encourage you to trust the Holy Spirit to give you understanding of these things and so without further ado would you join me in welcoming Michael a [Applause] it is an absolute honor to be in a Calvary Chapel we love Calvary chapel's that's our homeboy base this is where behold Israel got started my brother-in-law started speaking at Calvary chapel's in California the great late Chuck Smith was a very close friend of our ministry for many years it all started with tours they started taking tours they got a mirror he was working for Salvatore's at the time and this exploded into a whole ministry worldwide where we speak all around the world about what God is doing in today's day and age and we see it happening in the Bible and I'm gonna be walking you through as kind of a tour guide through the Ezekiel 38 and 39 passages and so we are going to address some of the political and sociological issues going on in the Middle East insofar as they align with the Bible I'm not gonna get up here and pontificate on politics you can turn on the news and you can get as much of that as you want okay we're gonna have a Q&A later on we have a booth outside I also have Jason Coleman's with me he's our administrative assistant and our in resident journalist let me make the disclaimer some of you have accused us of releasing a classified information due to a Mears ties to the IDF and my ties to the US Air Force it is not true we would never dare doing that that is something that's in despicable we we love our countries we love the information that should be intact everything that we talk about either today or online or on our channels are all unclassified material through valuable sources that we really really put high stock into they prefer to remain private and we respect that but it is not classified okay there is a day that we live in where you and I and all of the culture believer non-believer are fascinated with the future we're fascinated with the events of the Middle East and there's no shortage of people that you can find online or TV trying to figure out and putting in an interpretation to prophetic events I know that I'm entering into this world this more with you I know that some of you as the pastor says are scared maybe feel insecure you don't know enough you may feel overwhelmed last night we had a wonderful service I gave all kinds of information all of what we're gonna do this morning is gonna be online so I want to ask you to sit back and relax and allow the Spirit of God as we read his word to address specific areas first in your life to glorify Jesus and then to understand what the times are so that you can have a firmer confidence in God's Word because we here at calvary chapel and the church as i come from it's the Word of God that directs and guide us not feelings not the times not the cultural values that shift and change like sand of the sea no it is the Word of God I don't know if you remember this gentleman by the name of James Randi who was the ex magician who had a show in the 80s to debunk so-called psychics and future predictors and people that claim to be able to have paranormal behavior at their disposal for manipulation he's the guy that carry around a 1 million dollar check stating that if anybody was a bonafide prophet psychic or future predictor that he would give them 1 million dollars now the caveat was they had to come on his show and they had to produce their prediction or their magic art and if it was real and he couldn't debunk it being an ex magician and illusionist himself he knew the tactics of the trade and so he ran this show for many seasons and not a single person could prove that they were a future reader or a psychic or somebody with supernatural capability keep in mind this was a sceptical period of time for many people and they even looked at the church in you and I had to pay the price for this because they accused us of taking fantastic information of the Bible and saying it's not true it's fake it was made up by men I'm here this morning to give you a very compelling case that there are events that are happening in our generation that have been clearly predicted in Scripture that if I was to take you back to the year 1500 or the Year 900 the Bible was the same back then in the Bible fold out what it knew would happen today you're the generation and I'll demonstrate this that I believe is watching specific prophecies in Ezekiel 36 through 39 happen I wish James Randi was here because I'd be a millionaire just kidding when it comes to unfulfilled prophecy ie passages of scripture that haven't appeared to be fulfilled where if you take them literally and normatively as we have the ones that have been fulfilled a lot of people aren't comfortable with that we have scriptures that predicted Jesus birth specifically in Bethlehem Micah chapter 5 verse 2 we have Isaiah 52 and 53 that predicted the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus we have Daniel chapter 9 verse 26 through 29 that predicted literally the years leading up to the birth and crucifixion of Jesus and we read them plainly but there are scriptures like Ezekiel where they haven't happened yet in that way so a lot of people due to their insecurity perhaps their uncomfort with the the times have chosen to allegorize and view them as a metaphor until recently until about 1948 when the nation of Israel was born people started to look at that and after the Holocaust you see his II keel chapter 36 and 37 God takes Ezekiel and he shows them a valley of dry bones which are the Jews that the children of Israel and then he asks Ezekiel can these bones live Mzee kigo says those know your God I don't know me you tell me and God says well let me tell you not only are they gonna live and I'm gonna put flesh back on them you know kind of like the the bones resurrecting flesh coming on they're becoming not only are they gonna have flesh but they're gonna become strong they're gonna become mighty and God is going to breathe not only their not only flesh on that he's gonna breathe in them a new life the fulfillment of Jeremiah chapter 31 this is the Ezekiel passage where he actually predicts that the resuscitation of Israel's land and the people and their faith will be reborn in a period of time and then after that when they're secure and comfortable while faith is growing in the Land of Israel and Jewish people are returning there will become an army and a coalition that brews from the north consisting of regions that we will discuss this morning of Russia Iran Turkey supported by Libya and northern Sudan coming from the north and that's supposed to happen after the resuscitation of Israel now that I've whet your appetite what you're gonna hear this morning is as the pastor said just gonna let the Bible speak for itself I'm going to of course comment as a tour guide would and you will have to go home today and sit with the Holy Spirit sit with the word of God and ask hard questions but let me be clear if you walk out of here scared we've failed if you walk out of here absolutely confused and frustrated we've failed if you walk out of here wanting more of Jesus you know your walk with him if you want to hear from him if you want to be more dedicated to him if you want to read more of his word then we will have succeeded this morning because there's a lot of data on when he throwing at you but the data can never replace the the relationship that you have with Jesus some of you are here this morning and you didn't want to be here some of you were drugged here by your spouse some of you students are here because your parents wanted you to come but you are here and so this morning I want to jump into there's the James Randi will he be able to give us a hall of million dollars look at that smirk on his face this is part two of a two-part series last night these are both modular you didn't have to be at last night to be here today although if you were it'll definitely help we're gonna be looking at the coming invasion of Israel as defined by Ezekiel 38 and 39 will give you some context here's what we know about the biblical names mentioned in Ezekiel and that's the question what do we know about the biblical names I'm going to stand off to the side here and we will walk through some of the cool things that you're gonna see this morning and again keep in mind this will all be posted online in Genesis chapter 10 very much at the beginning these were the sons of Noah and there was Shem ham and Japheth sons were born to them after the flood the sons of Japheth which is of particular interest to us we're go male Magog Madai Javan 2-valve Misha and Tina's isn't it interesting that when you look at the names of literal people they end up being actual region regions one of the most boring dry places of Scripture is 1st chronicles chapter 1 onwards and when I when I first got saved in Jesus I read that and I looked at that and I was pushing through it with fatigue I even had a drool coming down my my my face I had to slap myself after taking 12 caffeine tablets followed up with an energy drink and it didn't occur to me until I started to speak Hebrew and live in Israel and I started reading the Bible in Hebrew now I was like oh the lights went on like Christmas trees everywhere and the Halos of heaven opened up and I began to see wait a minute these aren't just names they're regions of the world in Hebrew let me give you some examples Magog was a literal person and he settled in where today is Russia Magog is the region where Moscow is did you know that ham for example was one of the one of the children of of Noah he was the brother of Japheth and and also you can see here ham and Japheth and and Shem Shem was the father of the Middle East the Jews then ham was the the filthy pig eating Gentile that loved ham and he became his region was Africa let me put this this this is a little bit I hope this comes through clear this would be my book and then you have in our passage which we're going to look at later you'll have intersecting concentric circles of regions that is modern-day Turkey then you have paths or Persia in the Ezekiel passage which is Iran coincidence you decide you have put over here in Libya remember they didn't have clear borders like we do today so we're looking at regions and what we're trying to do in this game is to align the region of the ancient Near East writing to the modern-day region so that you can see who's occupying that land today but it all goes back to biblical names and the ancient writers really God through the ancient writers gave us this Intel here is Sudan and then Egypt that's part of put as well and you can see from the arrows there there is going to be an invasion according to 38 and 39 of Ezekiel led by a coalition of someone in Russia or Magog if you read in into the text there you'll see Yvonne was one of the sons of japheth and guess what the Hebrew name for Greece is today in Hebel in Hebrew language Yvon go mare is north north east Turkey Gomer Bhagat Ashkenazi as the scriptures say Ashkenazi is Europe in fact any of the immigrants of the Jewish race that come back to Israel they have a name for a European Jews they call them Ashkenazim Ashkenazim those from the tribes of Ashkenazi in Europe there's Ashkenazi Jews those Mizrahi Jews which were once from the east they're Sephardic Jews they're from Spain and onwards we go in the passage of Ezekiel 36 and 37 we talked about the vision of the dry bones last night we showed pictures of Holocaust victims and how they looked we're talking about six million Jews that died on a global scale we've never seen anything like that and in terms of dry bones literally in any period of human history in chapter 36 he talks about calling the land that's dead and desolate and he calls the land and the trees to give forth their fruits and their branches in Chapter 37 he calls the people of Israel the Jews from the four corners of the earth wherever they've gone to come back to the Land of Israel in both chapters it predicts that the Jews will come to faith in the Messiah and he will breathe life into them with a new heart and then in Chapter 38 immediately after that he says there will be a coalition of forces that we have on this map look for example at jazzy keel chapter 37 verse 14 this is an example of what God's endgame is not only for the Jews but also for you sitting here in this room and I will put my spirit within you and you shall live I will place you in your own land it's pretty clear right there's many examples of that in 36 through 39 it goes over and over again this is a summary statement you can find this repeating itself then you shall know that I am the Lord I have spoken I will do it declares the Lord you ever get scared about what other people say about the future what other faiths say about the future different versions of Armageddon in Hollywood creates all kinds of emotions do you know the word Armageddon is a Hebrew conglomeration for huh Meggy done which means mountain of Megiddo which was the strategic place in the Jezreel Valley that Napoleon when he was there said this is the ideal place for a battle means amazing Mark Twain who was the great English writer said when he arrived in the 1800s this place is dead and desolate and bankrupt I can't believe nobody's developing this country the soil is so you could produce what you want from it but nobody lives here it's desolate in the late 1800s Theodor Herzl how many of you have heard of Theodor Herzl just real quick few of us in the room this is a Hungarian journalist he goes to Paris on a mission to write about a case that Napoleon and his Napoleonic French armies had accused a man by the name of Dreyfus for secretly selling French plans to the German government and Theodore Herzl uncovers this whole story and he reveals the fact that the French government is pinning the breach of secret intel on a Jewish man by the name of Dreyfus he was a captain someone leaked information to Germany and how convenient let's just take a Jewish captain and pin it on him because the Jews are less than this is under the Napoleonic Wars Theodore Herzl is Jewish he's shocked he sees this and Theodore Herzl said unless we get our own state back the world will come against us on a large scale and seek to kill us people thought he was nuts Theodor Herzl in the late 1800s held what's called Zionist Congress and they had these Jews from all over the world and they started to emigrate back to Israel and during the process of the late 1800s into the 1900s after World War one thousands tens of thousands and now we have hundreds of thousands of Jews coming back to the land modern day terrorism as we know it with the Muslim countries began and Jewish people could not be stopped regardless of the regulations of the British with their white paper regardless of other countries and camps in Cyprus Jews made it back to the land and one of them was my father-in-law who escaped the Holocaust one of them several of them were Amir's parents they escaped the Holocaust and once once the Jewish people were able to make it back into the land they developed the country they have water technology they take humidity and make water out of it ah-choo I sneeze you drink they have the largest tower for solar energy that produces the largest amount of energy in the Middle East their military is rated the number one in the Middle East some actually raid at number one and the entire hemisphere food cybertek some of the things going on there are absolutely amazing they are growing like wildfire in breadth and depth the real estate market is off the charts I could never afford a home there Amir says to me should move back to Israel sometime yeah but where would I live he's like oh yeah that's a good point look at the ministry and the funds that we make there's no way so it's easy for me to live here I like my Minnesota space and my Nordic roots it was 17 when I left the day before was minus 17 just so you know be grateful there are several things I want to discuss with you this morning and that is let me go back here this is Mark Twain in the late 1800s his frustrations were fulfilled by Theodor Herzl who by the way never got a chance to experience living in the land of Israel Herzl predicted World War 2 and the Holocaust over fifty years before it happened and he wasn't a Christian could it be that God is moving and fulfilling Scripture in our generation Eliezer ben-yehuda who was Jewish he said we have no language to speak when we the Jews are coming back to his beacon gariand we speak German do we speak English we speak Russian and they said we must do speak Hebrew in ASL the must to speak Hebrew what are the language he dished now this is for the Polish Jews we needs to speak April Eliezer Ben he he took the Hebrew language of the Bible and built a modern Hebrew language and that is the national language today how would you like to resurrect an ancient language and have an entire nation speak it fluently the Israelis wrote the Stuxnet virus in 2010 to sabotage the nuclear centrifuges in Iran and it slowed their program down six months when Symantec Corporation parsed it there was Hebrew characters specifically and intentionally put in there with a code so that the Iranians would know that this was done by Jews Israelis when asked they said couldn't be quite sure of who writes did such things maybe yes maybe no but one thing's for sure your nuclear program it's not going so well like you thought it would we can at least agree so today I want to make and by the way this is what Tel Aviv looks like beautiful even more than this the coming invasion of Israel reveals five factors of God's plan ironically each of these five factors of God's plan for Israel as revealed in this very specific passage this morning are five factors that you need to consider in your relationship with Jesus this morning first his plan is specific not only for Israel but for you as well he is the engineer he is the architect he is the executor he is the service department he is the customer service he knows everything about Israel he knows his plans they are specific they are determined there's nothing anybody can do to alter them no matter how bad things get God is in control but that is also true of you isn't it crazy how many places we go to for self esteem and significance and we doubt whether God cares sometimes or hears us in Ezekiel 38 verses 1 & 2 it says the word of the Lord came to me son of man set your face towards GOG he's the person of the north and the land of Magog Russia the chief Prince of Meshech and to vow which are all those regions just north of Israel and prophesy against them and so you have Russia Magog mentioned here and this is a time when he's called by God kind of like Pharaoh who hardened his heart was used by God these nations think they're so smart they think they can craft ideas which of course they do and this is their own will you ever notice how somebody is gonna do something anyway and God just knows that and he uses them for his purposes you ever notice that we parents often do that with our kids right we already know what they're gonna do and we have a crafter your plan and then we use them so that we can have their best interests in mind they didn't see it coming gog is the leader and this is gonna happen when the nation of Israel the Jews are living safe and secure and where they say we don't need anything did you know that Israel's secular leftist society that they have right now exceeds even the United States globalists that is the movement of global shared value system beliefs and their comfortable calling good evil and evil good there's no values it's right and wrong or determined in the eye of the beholder everyone does what they're right in their own eyes and and if somebody comes up with a plan the globalist will put his arm around them just typical of a lot of people today and today society globally and they'll say go for it explore what it's like to be this sex or that sex explore what it's like to go into debt after all someday someone else might pay for all of that explore what it's like to go and do what your heart desires and the globalist agenda is clearly visible today now we could spend time talking about that but I'm gonna get back on track we also have Turkey in this passage which is mentioned and I want to go into some of the other countries that appeared on our map Persia Coosh put are with them all of them with shield and helmet so they're getting ready for battle go mare and all of his hordes bit togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all its hordes with his hordes many peoples are with you and he's talking to the leader of Magog which is modern-day rusha coincidence you just you just have to decide so here's the players folks Iran which was ancient Persia Sudan which was ancient cush also Egypt by the way Egypt has a fundamentalist Islamic government and they voted that in years ago keep an eye on that Libya which is put I don't need to for those of you who are 50 and older I don't need to remind you of what's been going on in Libya even in our lifetime and what will happen in Libya then you have Turkey which is a conglomeration of concentric circles and ancient civilizations all over the whole country including Gomer togarmah etc did you know this picture was taken recently of three countries that are in Syria right now and have been for several years that is Russia Iran and Turkey each of them have an agenda they want the resources of Syria and each one of them has has said multiple times this is not news this is not classified information each one of them would love quote to have the resources and the accessibility that the country of Israel affords right now some of these countries are seeking for deals with Israel because Israel has found natural gas they are cyber tech geniuses and food geniuses and textile geniuses these countries that want to revive each of their own empires like they had in many years ago want Israel for their own purposes Iran is desperate right now they're on the verge of a civil war the mullahs cannot control the globalists in the country you've seen some of the riots Iran wants the last caliphate assuring in their version of Islam for the world's to submit to God Islam is an Arabic word for submission Islam means submission Muslim is the duration of that word which means one who submits Shia is Iranian theology Shia is the branch of Islam that views themselves as the authoritative branch that dates back to the actual biological lineage of Muhammad it's bloodline Sunnis that Saudi Arabia and all the Sunni Muslims they say no Sunni Islam is the theological integrity branch of Islam we know the truth although we're not biologically tied we know the truth we are the true Islam and so they fight in faction amongst each other that's why later on in the passage you're gonna find that the region's occupied by Saudi Arabia are looking on and they don't want to get involved and so my friends where are they all right now where was this picture taken none other than Syria and according to Isaiah and you need to do your homework you need to read your Bible in Chapter 17 an Oracle concerning Damascus this hasn't been fulfilled yet behold Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins until today Damascus anxia Damascus all the way today has been a major Middle East city and right now as we speak almost one half of the city has been destroyed through all of the wars with all of the factions going on with Isis that's been destroyed rebels that have been suppressed and all of the warfare going on with these three countries Damascus is already almost half destroyed I've seen with my own eyes certain cities that have been utterly destroyed in Syria and that interesting is that a coincidence I guess you'll have to decide this is what Damascus looks like see how big and vast is it's been bombed it's been cut collapse places have been completely abandoned absolutely amazing now we get to chapter 38 verse 13 sheba and dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its leaders will say to you have you come to seize spoil they're asking the coalition this question have you come to seek spoil have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder to carry away silver and gold to take away livestock and goods to seize great spoil and Iran Russia and Turkey we'll have to say of course duh why else are we here but Saudi Arabia which is sheba and dedan of ancient times doesn't want to get involved they're just asking the questions that what you guys are here you guys be careful man and they look at Saudi Arabia and they say stay out of it and Saudi Arabia's staying out of this you know I want to know who else is staying out of it who also recently pulled out our troops from Syria you following the news we left the Isis camp last year the turkey the Turkish government said we'll take care of it and it's a mess now believe me it's a mess but Trump did not want to be in this mess he has literally asked these countries what you doing there are you go you guys have good intentions of course our intentions are good for us not for you but for us and it's almost like word for word in the prophecy you have to decide we're air the Scriptures did we not these are the regions did are they not if you don't don't believe me look look look online and you can see where all these ancient regions are people agree so my friends it is as true for Israel as you and me his plan is very specific and that's pretty good for specificity and to put the gas here these these annexed these next points come a little faster his plan calls for readiness this is an overlap of what we talked about earlier he says be ready and keep ready you and all your hosts that are assembled about you and be guard for them after many days you will be mustered in the latter days you will go against the land that is restored from war the land whose people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste its people were brought out from the peoples and now dwell securely and all of them the enemies ready these nations are readying up Israel feels secure and they feel ready are you ready for the next temptation the enemy is he is seeking whom he may literally devour like a hungry lion beast waiting watching sitting like those cats do he's ready these nations are ready you see what success and blessing can produce if we allow it leading us into spiritual apathy right now Israel is one of the strongest countries of the world and right now they want to vote in a very moderate leftist government that's gonna go light on security and the Lions of the north are waiting they can't do it right now because Netanyahu is too strong if they strike he will strike back tenfold and they're not gonna take that risk they're not that stupid but if you get somebody in the office they're in Israel by the way elections are gonna happen very soon they may be interested in a strike I'm not saying they will they may I'm just asking you to watch the situation but in your personal life are you ready for what the devil has for you readiness is what God is calling these countries to because he's gonna use them for his purposes because his nation is asleep basking in the fat apathy and prosperity and it's precisely the case of Israel today I wish I could tell you and bring you there and listen to what some of the Israelis are saying we don't need military so much like we did before we have never been that's not playing well for many years last time was when we were coming into Lebanon but now we have to deal with rockets so we must do it relax maybe put some of the money into social programs we are very safe here in Israel security is an all time figured out well calculated system back in the day man when I was coming in out of the country they'd screen everything today they have systems and it's easier there than it is here and it's very safe it is more dangerous to get into a plane in situ I can fly to minneapolis it's more dangerous in fact the biggest danger in Israel is overeating all that wonderful Israeli food stock market is skyrocketing the GDP is oh well over 40,000 per per person right now fastest growing economy in that hemisphere 30% of Nobel Peace Prizes have been won by Jews many of them now Israelis it's talks about unwalled cities in the passages you'll have to read the passages tonight before you go to bed read 38 and 39 in one sitting the unwalled cities the nation times you step walls around the cities today they don't have any walls a few walls here and there but there's no walls and friends the enemy's ready Israel feels like they're ready for an attack are you ready not here to scare you I'm here to sober you I want for you the same thing I want for me I want a growing sober relationship with Jesus and that is precisely why God is allowing this army to raise up to jolt the country and bring them back to him because according to Daniel there will then be seven years by the way it'll say seven years after this war they'll be cleaning up the mess after God wins it for them even 7 months they'll be cleaning up specific messes if you read chapter 39 3rd I told you we would put the gas his plan glorifies himself this plan isn't meant for me to be glorified the pastor to be glorified behold Israel to be glorified this is meant for you and Israel to glorify God look what it says here in verse 16 chapter 20 38 you will come up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land he's speaking to Gog Russia in the latter days in the latter days many days after this was written that's what it means I will bring you against my land that the nations may know me when through you O GOG I've vindicate my holiness before their eyes vindicate his holiness the world is scoffing at God the gospel and Jesus like never before God wants to use this one example to vindicate his holiness where the nation's will go ho ho ho wow they may not believe they might not come to faith but they'll say that's that's that's a capable God that is a that is a holy God you ever played chess chess is irrelevant how many pieces you have as long as you have a plan and you're smarter than the next guy you can even lose your pieces to create a false allusion to the opponent a false confidence that he's gonna win and all it takes is just two or three moves in checkmate even if you have just a few pieces on the board folks I know it looks like in the world that Christianity and God are being mocked and that the nation is moving more towards a direction of godlessness but mark my words no mark the Scriptures words God's holiness will be vindicated it will be vindicated my friends look at this this is verse 23 of 38 so I will show my greatness in my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations they will know that I am the Lord what do they believe in him or not that's we'll see but they'll know you can know something without participating in it look at this verse 7 of 39 and my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel and I will not let my holy name be profaned any more and the nations shall know that I am the Lord the Holy One in Israel they will know it do you know it is God's holiness something that you know that you respect that you revere that you say I need to walk with you Lord I want that same holiness in my life so that others around me say that is a version of Jesus I see Jesus in you tell me about that ever of a co-worker take you aside and say tell me why don't you ever fly off the handle like other people do around here what is the source of your patience and your joy and your peace tell me where do you get your people where do I need to who do I need to pay to get that piece but you don't need to it's already been paid for his plan culminates in victory his plan culminates in victory look at this I'm gonna be throwing some some clusters at you right now like pine cones falling from conifers that have seeds and seeds have seeds that bring conifers and those conifers bring seeds and pine cones this is what I'm gonna be throwing at you right now look at this verse 25 of 39 therefore thus says the Lord God now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel and I will be jealous for my holy name there it is again they shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from the enemy's lands and threw them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations boom verse 28 then they shall know that I am the Lord their God because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore and I will not hide my face any more from them when I pour out my spirit upon the house of Israel declares the Lord number-5 and we will conclude with this friends his plan should not be confused some of your saying we'll wait a minute wait a minute hold on there is a there's a war of Gog and Magog at the end of the millennium in Revelation chapter 20 is that the same thing I do not believe it is let me walk you through some of the differences and then I want to give you a gut punch I want to give you a mic kool-aid got punch ok you'll see what I mean gog and magog appear twice once here and then once in Revelation 20 many people have viewed them as the same event but I don't believe they are for several reasons ok I want to walk you through those in Ezekiel the coalition comes from the north in Revelation they come from the four corners of the earth it says it's specifically in Revelation in Ezekiel the enemies are a coalition led by a specific person in specific countries in Revelation it is led by Satan himself Ezekiel says that the Dead will be buried for seven months and have seven years of using the weapons as fuel and in Revelation this is at the end of the millennium and we immediately go into the great white throne judgment there is a chronological disconnect so what gives here's what we know we know that the Bible uses different events and words as a spirit of four a metaphor of a like-minded event that will happen in the future for example the Tower of Bevelle mcduck Bevelle in Hebrew was the tower where all the nations came together as one and they were sharing the same beliefs melted together even though they were from different nationalities and they had a very similar ideology than we that we have today in the world and they raised a tower up to God because they themselves view themselves as God God came down and ironically confused the ranked languages and that's where we have babbling in Hebrew little bell orb of a lawn or McDowell bevelle comes from the root of confusion babbling melting and mixing then there was an actual city of Babylon which is modern-day Iraq and one of the ironic tactics that they would use when they would capture their enemy is they would bring them back into exile and they would begin speaking the language of the people eating the food wearing the clothes and they would melt away they'd be confused their their identity and the national died entity would be lost and then of course Babylon is used by Peter to refer to Rome and so you see that when John refers to gog and magog he's saying the last gog and may god will be the same spirit of rebellion just like the first one it'll be the same spirit to destroy God as it was to Israel it be the very same kind of invasion on a larger scale we have these signs there are many more if you've missed everything I've said this morning do not miss this when Jesus was here and he was talking to his apostles trying to give them and equipping for the future he says now when these things begin to take place he's mentioning not only these signs but many signs you can read the passage and see what signs he's referring to straighten up and raise your heads because your redemption is drawing near so also in this verse 34 31 so also when you see these things taking place you know that the kingdom of God is near in Romans chapter 13 ironically a completely different author Paul says besides this you know the time that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep see we are in the last days and have been since the first century it's just unclear when these things are but you get the privilege of seeing Ezekiel fulfilled in this generation so that means oh my goodness oh my goodness if the resuscitation of Israel happened and then we after the dry bones and you have the coalition already assembled in Syria you got to at least a mint you got to admit there's something to this look for salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed the night is far gone the day is at hand so then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light let us walk properly as in the daytime eyes and ears we're gonna close now I'm gonna ask that you just take in what we've said I'm gonna ask that you consider what the Word of God has said and I want you to close your eyes if you're comfortable with that I'm gonna ask you some hard questions and I'm gonna have the pastor come up and we're gonna close where is your soul this morning my friend I know the enemy's ready he's lurking do you have a secret sin that you just haven't been able to overcome darkness is where sin prospers comfort leads to apathy do you need a new vision for your relationship with Jesus right now I'm gonna ask that you pray with me or Jesus I want to renew my relationship with you will you show me in new ways how to walk with you and experience the sheer victory you accomplish for me on the cross will you allow me to live in a lifestyle of holiness show me Lord lead me guide me Lord we thank you so many more things but we bask in you Jesus thank you for raising from the dead thank you for conquering sin demonic forces and death in a weekend thank you Lord for raising up this church in Olympia calling them to be a light to this community thank you for pastor John who has a vision Thank You equip these people bless them allow them to see your hand right here in Olympia as we continue to watch the signs that encourage us to turn more to Jesus it's in his name we pray amen
