[Music] [Music] well good morning church welcome to all of you are joining us online as well today is our mission focus sunday but it's also the fourth sunday in our four e's series which means we are on the extend sunday we're going to be talking about extending the kingdom well it's a special sunday today very special because we have a special guest with us we have a partner missionary partner in the middle east north africa bashar kharkafi and he happens to be here in ontario for home assignment so i invited him with us today to share about what's going on uh in lebanon the middle east north africa and the ministries that god has given him charge of so would you welcome him with some warm bbc love bashara [Applause] good morning so happy to be with you today and thank you pastor josh for uh the invitation uh to be today with you guys uh in order to share about what's going on uh in mena area which is middle east and north africa area and how the lord jesus christ by his love and by his mercies and by his grace reaching out people of mena area the arab and the islamic communities and in the same time how the lord is working through our local churches here through the church planting movement that taking place all over ontario and quebec for god's glory uh uh first of all as a family ruler my wife uh uh jonathan and robin our kids we we thank you for your prayers and while we're serving in uh mena area as pastor josh mentioned the lord is moving in great way and uh i want to share with you uh lately about mena area and what's going on there but first i want to share with you about the vision that the lord laid on our heart to reach out ontario and quebec for god's glory as you know or some of you know that as a family we're serving with central ministries uh second slide please and uh with uh uh with fellowship international as a machinery is overseas so uh on the fab central level um uh by god's grace we are the lord laid on our heart to plant churches among the arab and the arab and the other cultures uh backgrounds here in the area and so far the lord bless us by his grace to plant uh nine new churches in ontario and quebec and by god's grace we have also another church that planted already in uh in halifax and right now we are working to plant in gatineau by god's grace so please pray for the church planting movement across the area and the good news of this uh ministry that we are witnessing uh dozens of people converting from other backgrounds to christ we're witnessing that here in our area the other day a lady called me over the phone and she uh you know introduced herself i was uh you know driving uh on 401 you know stuck in in the middle of the traffic there and then she introduced herself she's uh living in ottawa and she was journaling searching for jesus searching for hope and she's for from another background so this lady while i'm i'm talking with her i discovered that yeah she visited many churches but somehow she didn't yet meet jesus on in in person yet the lord didn't cleanse her heart or you know you know had had this experience you know to be born again by god's grace and for an hour you know conversation over the phone praise the lord she she give her life for jesus and right now she gets baptized and she's serving the lord right now in our arabic church in um in ottawa praise the lord for that so please pray for our church plant movement uh planting movement are in in ontario and quebec in in canada and please pray for our planters five out the ten planters that already the ten plants that already planted five out the ten planters they are from other background they converted to christ and most of them they converted after the arab spring that hit the area of mena area middle east and north africa i call it politicians call it arab spring but i call it arab hell because more than 30 million people scattered across across maine area and across the globe as refugees and and but the lord brought out of this chaos he brought hope and the beauty of his grace and right now we're witnessing many people converted to christ in this area and to talk a bit uh it's okay if the you know this guy frozen uh talk a bit about what's going on in in middle east and north africa so somehow my wife uh with our kids the lord somehow laid on our hearts to lead and serve the vision to see a church planting movement and discipleship discipleship making movement take a place across the area in mena area starting from lebanon to middle east and north africa so four strategy goals please pray for that so the first strategy goal that we're serving through and open in the area there is the church landing movement and the discipleship making movement because we believe deeply that whenever we plant the churches we see clearly how the gospel of jesus break through and we see people converted to christ and we see people discipling other disciples for god's glory so please pray for this strategy goal uh the second strategy goal is we also planted seminary programs or leadership and theological programs so praise the lord for that so far the lord blessed us to i was in egypt actually 15 days ago and i passed by turkey uh and and for 12 days between egypt and turkey and we launched a seminary in turkey where 24 pastors they are participating in the theological program and by god's grace please pray for my next trip in february to launch four new churches uh who uh right now we are we are preparing to plant in in egypt and i hope that uh you know a leadership team from here with pastor josh will will join me in this trip or late summer i'm not sure we're praying for that but just to launch new churches so okay those that the arabic church is here in the the central area in brampton uh kitchener london berry ottawa mississauga montreal hamilton gatineau halifax uh so praise the lord and this picture is from the latest uh greenhouse that we did when where we launched couple arabic new churches last august by god's grace so next please uh so this is those are the four strategy goals that i shared with you the humanitarian ministry is the third one the fourth one is the missions the missions academy or the mission academy where the lord laid on our heart to prepare local missionaries national missionaries in lebanon in egypt in syria in iraq and turkey and send them out to mena area to share the gospel of jesus so pray please for those strategic goals that the lord laid on our heart to reach out the mena area which is consist of 24 countries arabic countries with turkey we are reaching out almost 350 million arab and islamic people living in this area so please pray for this area and for uh the church planting movement and the discipleship making movement that taking place there next please so uh in order to accomplish the vision we really we are certain that we need partnerships for that reason we're we're we're inviting our churches to visit us uh our canadian churches our fellowship churches to visit us uh and to do a vision a vision trip for seven days so far i believe more than 11 churches they visited us with their leadership team and if you look up to this picture on the right hand up you see in the extreme far right you see pastor steve and pastor josh they visited us on the field and we had 10 days ministry in the area and the lord blessed us in a great way and we visited also egypt in the same time and right now by god's grace we're planning for the future to see short mid and long term uh mission trips taking place and somehow to be the churches and the leaders to to uh to attend uh or to serve with us in the area so please pray for the mission and vision trips and we praise the lord for the great gift of friendship and partnership uh in the lord with you guys with bramley church uh what we are doing here in canada and what we are doing in mena area it's possible because of your prayers and thank you very much for all the partnerships that you already supporting the ministry and supporting you know the programs that we are doing in mena area next please uh in this slide one of the programs that you're praying for as a church family and you're supporting is clementia life center in lebanon we have 650 000 syrian refugee kids who they don't have access to proper education for that reason the lord laid on rula's uh heart my wife to launch or to uh somehow to equip eight leaders in order to reach out to the kids refugee kids syrian refugee and iraqi refugee kids in lebanon and last year we had 101 refugee kids participating in our program the team of eight leaders with sister rula they are teaching them english teaching them math arabic science and every morning they do a chapel where in every morning they're singing songs kids from other backgrounds they're singing song for jesus and hearing the stories of the gospel and the last couple years until the moment by god's grace the lord gave us this privilege as a family ruler and the team to see dozens of the kids converted to christ and accepted the lord jesus christ as savior and lord praise the lord for that this is how jesus is working but this is how he's moving and to him only all glory so this year by god's grace because the kids they graduated from clc at the age of 12. so this year the lord laid on rolla's heart also to launch a vocational program thirty kids well participated those thirty kids they they graduated from clc usually what happened their parents their parents they sent the kids 12 13 years old to work in the market and while they're working their the atmosphere is very abusive and all kind of abuse taking place in their life for that reason by god's grace we're we're planning to teach every graduated kids to get uh you know to to you know to get some knowledge in computer in hairdressing uh you know electricity blah blah blah to train them up to 15 16 18 years old and then when will they will go out they have jesus in their life they will work in dignity and no one will take this dignity from them so please pray for the kids and pray for the gospel to continue working in their lives the next story that i want to share with you is uh the stronger together plus ministry that brahmali uh a church and praise the lord for that we partner together to launch stronger together plus ministry stronger together plus ministry we're equipping leaders uh planters pastors from other backgrounds from so right now we have 22 leaders who they are young passionate leaders in mid-20s beginning 30s they they have a heart to plant churches and they are planting churches right now in lebanon in syria uh uh all over among the arab uh you know communities and the refugee communities mainly home churches and rabbit churches and rabbit churches they are underground churches where the the persecution is so high so the 22 guys in stronger together plus we equip them on leadership and theo theological level and they are all converted from other background to christ during the arab hall or the arab spring and right now by gas grace we're preparing a new generation of emerging people from other background to reach out the whole arabic word by god's grace with the gospel of jesus christ so please pray for stronger together plus ministry also another story quickly i'll share with you from the field it's uh another story oh yeah this story so already we launched as i mentioned in uh lately in egypt the new seminary in turkey we're preparing the platform to launch a new seminary and what happened there in turkey please next slide if that's possible okay so while we are launching new seminaries also we are working by god's grace to plant a new plants and to launch a discipleship ministry among the refugees across the area so please pray for the church planting movements and the discipleship making movement we are already by god's grace the lord bless us to partnering with more than 50 new churches across the area uh rabbit churches underground churches and the new church plants in in mena area so please pray for this movement also there uh and the next uh uh story that i share with you from turkey i was as i mentioned 12 days ago in turkey where uh i visited uh uh you know aya sofia i'm not sure if you know i sofia sofia is the old you know byzantine church it turned to mosque and right now it turned to museum and right now to mosque i was visiting there and many people there coming to aya sofia to pray uh for that aya sofia became a mosque but guess what while i was praying there the lord was moving across turkey planting new churches for his own glory so play also for what's going on in turkey and all the movement taking place there at the end thank you very much at the family uh the last uh picture that i want to share with you is uh as as one family we want to share our greetings with you and we want to say thank you very much for all your prayers and support with you by god's grace we can do what we are doing here in canada and overseas for god's glory so thank you and god bless you abundantly thank you will you join me as we pray for bashara his family and the ministries that he's just shared about it's truly a joy an honor and a privilege for us as a church to partner with him in their teams to be part of what god is already doing there so when we partner with them please realize that this is not just the money that and support that we send the prayers that we give but that you and i as a church even as individuals we are actually becoming part of the amazing things that god is doing in the mena region so let's pray father god we just thank you so much for bashara and his family and for all the work that you are allowing them to be part of in your kingdom on that side of the world lord we pray for your blessing on him and his family and the team we pray for your protection we pray for wisdom we pray for guidance in all of their decisions father and again father we pray that your holy spirit move forward and press into the darkness that we will see more and more droves of souls come to you lord jesus come to the foot of the cross and recognize you as their lord and savior as their god we pray in jesus name amen amen thank you brother well before i forget today is the first sunday of the month that also means that it is our food drive sunday for our food distribution ministry at nicebridge and lisa so we're going to have that food drive between two to four today in the afternoon at the atrium if you've already purchased goods then you can drop them off during that time period or if you haven't yet feel free to drop by the church office between tuesday and friday this week between nine and four pm and you'll be able to drop off your goods there and if you remember at the end of august we did a back to school backpack distribution in both nicebridge and the lisa communities it was an amazing day we spread it out into two days with a saturday and nice bridge and sunday actually here in our parking lot for the residents at lisa it was just a great time where god opened up doors and avenues for us to connect with families pray with them people who were really opening up even crying as we prayed for them so god is on the move i want to encourage you that god is not only in the move you know thousands of miles away in the main region but right here in our city in our neighborhood here's a quick clip of what that day was like uh [Music] food [Music] [Applause] we are here at three nights bridge and we are here to distribute school bags for the children who are returning to school it is a part of our love knightsbridge ministry and we are here to show and share jesus's love with the people who are living here we have a fantastic group of volunteers here today serving but we also had a large number of volunteers earlier in the day packing this 160 plus bags at church and we thank all of them for doing this service it's not volunteer as pastor josh says it is it is indeed a service and it is all service to build up the kingdom of god [Music] we give them these backpacks it will be a blessing to them but most of all that they will also receive your love we pray for uh just a smooth time we pray for open doors to pray for open hearts and at the end of the day you will be glorified through all of this and that we would see people come to the foot of the cross we would see people come to you lord jesus and we pray this in jesus name [Music] father we come to you today acknowledging that you are here in our midst where two or three are gathered in your name you are here with us and we submit to you we ask that your holy spirit will speak to our minds and open our ears and our hearts but also that you would move father within us hover over us lord and let your will be done in our hearts in our lives today in jesus name amen it's the fourth sunday of our four e series which means again as i mentioned earlier we're going to be talking about extending the kingdom or evangelism jesus before departing this world gave his church a very clear and specific task and we all know that that's found in matthew 28 18 to 20. so if you have your devices or your book bibles with you turn to them or look upon the screen as i read as jesus came and said to them all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit teaching them to observe all that i have commanded you and behold i am with you always to the end of the age that's jesus's clear final words for you and me for this church and the church universal now unfortunately many of us think that this is not for us it's maybe for a few specially called people or full-time missionaries paid staff or even worse god forbid that we think it's somehow insensitive to preach the gospel or share the gospel to other people that we might offend them or that we might be politically incorrect or even worse god forbid that we think the church should simply be busy with programs and events built to suit my needs and my desires and my wants now can i say emphatically brothers and sisters that that is a complete no extending the kingdom is the most important task that jesus has given to his church the task is important because of three things that i want to share with you today number one the task is important because the task is the heart of god it's the very heart of god the father it's the ultimate message of the bible it's the whole reason why why you and i are actually seated here spending this hour and a half on your sunday morning it's the whole reason why you and i have chosen to believe in jesus it's the whole reason because at one point in your life in my life god decided to extend his saving hand of grace and pluck us out of the mire this is god's heart now jesus uses examples in the new testament he describes to describe god's heart and he uses the example of the shepherd and the lost sheep we know that story where he goes and finds that one out of the 99 and takes him and brings him home jesus tells us about the story about the woman and her lost coin and how she she relentlessly looks for that coin and then jesus also tells us about the father and the prodigal son but god's heart this missionary heart didn't start in the new testament we actually see it when god reached out to adam and eve when he sought them in the garden right after the fall he didn't wait for them to come to him he went for to to find them we see it when god calls noah and he saves his family and he uses the ark as an archetype of christ we see it when god calls abraham and gives him the promise we see it when god calls jonah and tells him to go to the ninevites to preach salvation we see it in the raising up of israel as a missionary nation to reach the world for god we see it in the prophets where god raises up individuals to speak to his people to come back to him we see it ultimately and finally in the incarnation of his son all of this exemplifies god's heart to reach the loss to bring his lost creation back to himself the story of redemption does not start in jesus story it starts right after the fall god's heart is all about the task do you ever wonder in your christian life what god thinks or feels i remember when i was a little boy growing up in a christian home being you know exposed to church and sunday school and all that there was a time maybe i was about six or seven i started to think well i wonder what god is thinking i wonder what god is feeling and immediately you know because everything's being taught you know god loves you he sent his son to die for you he's there with you he listens to you he loves you and he's your child and he and you're his f he's your you're his child and he's your father and i'm like i bet you god is thinking about the toy that i want for christmas right or he's thinking about that prayer that i prayed the other day or he's thinking about you know that that that banana split that i'm looking forward to on sunday after church obviously that's not what he's thinking about maybe but that's not the heart of hearts we laugh at that because it's a story about a six or seven year old child who's all engrossed in himself but does it end when we're six what is god's heart john 3 16 to 17 the most famous passage in the bible for god so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life verse 17 for god did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but in order that that the world might be saved through him we all know verse 16 and i'm pretty sure that if i pointed to each and every one of you you could probably recite that verbatim but i think it's quite unfortunate that most of us forget that verse 17 is the continuation of verse 16 because it's all it's all one bundle you see verse 16 tells us about god's love his fatherly love but verse 17 tells us about his desire his motivation to save just like pastor paramount mentioned in his message last week god is savior not because of his saving acts through history but because that is who he is that is his heart right god didn't say oh you know what i'll save adam or you know what i'll save eight people through the ark you know maybe now is a good time to save the israelites or maybe now is a good time to save the ninevites no it's not these random acts in history where god kind of feels like he wants to save people this is his heart his whole essence of who he is is in his saving heart in his saving love god is savior because that is who he is if you focus on the word in verse 17 the greek verb save that's sozo and that means to keep safe and sound to rescue from danger to save from suffering to make well and restore to health you see god's love for the world is not just this unconditional accepting kind of grandfatherly perfect love it's a saving love that's what it comes out of that's what it evolves from this is god's heart the task is god's heart i remember the first time i felt the fatherly love was when my son caleb was born and you all probably know his story about being very sick when he was born he had to take him right into newborn icu and i remember the first time i held him in my arms which was probably a few days after he was born and i had this unconditional just overflowing love from my heart that it felt like my chest would literally rip apart it's the first time i felt that father he loved and because of his sickness because of his condition there were three separate instances in life in his life very young life where the doctors told us it could go either way it was 50 50. and i look back to those moments i remember this uncontrollable insatiable desire in me to just save him to to to snatch him away from the claws of death to do everything i could to take him out of harm's way that's verse 17. you see verse 16 is that love that you feel when you're looking down at your child where it's this unconditional unconditional and just perfect love and of course it's nothing compared to the father's love a sinner like me and yet when he was put in harm's way when i knew that it could go either way i had this insatiable uncontrollable desire to save him to do everything i could i would have moved heaven and earth to do anything i can give in my life to take to to for him to have his life that's the saving passion of the heart of the father you see the task flows out of the love of god the task represents the heart of god and that's why as individuals brothers and sisters as a local church body and as a church for universal it's so important for us to execute and complete this task what does this mean to me what does this mean to you well it should change the way you and i see or view our god this should change or turn up our benevolent distant grandfatherly vending machine perception of god upside down it's not about the toy we want for christmas it's not about the banana split after church the heart of god beats for the lost we should destroy any idea if there is anything in us that makes us think that this is about me then we are completely off the mark this should affect how we react and we deal with people around us the masked the unmasked the vaccinated the unvaccinated go on youtube and find out how pitiful our world has become when you're driving and you want to go on the 401 at the 410 and there's a lane that turns into the 410. you know this everyone's getting in queue right and it takes longer because you'll hit red before you get there and then you see this guy whipping by on the left side oh he's probably going straight but no he cuts in right onto the ramp without his blinker welcome to brampton this is a guy who the father's heart beats for and i'm not saying this because i'm perfect i changed the horn on my car all right it's no longer a meep meep i got the horn get out of my way honk that how dare you oh get in line that the queue is back there right i changed it but i'm preparing this message and god's saying why did you change we need to see that at the very heart the very center of god's heart is the lost soul is a loss so we focused on this on the equipping sunday last sunday pastor paramount preached a powerful message about the importance of equipping ourselves right the gist of his message was that we sat the more we saturate ourselves with the word uh through the power and the illumination of the holy spirit we become godlier right and he said good is not necessarily godly they're good people out there but they're not godly so the idea is the more we invest ourselves and our time into the word the more we study the word the more the holy spirit has these tools to work into our minds and work in our hearts and change our lives so that we become more like christ when we become more godly we start to see things the way god sees things you see the purpose of becoming stronger within is not just to become strong the purpose to become stronger within is so that we can fulfill the task do you see that that's the whole reasoning why we have the epistles paul and john and peter they're teaching the church what it really means to have this relationship with god and with people so that we're strengthened so that we can fulfill the task it's always the end result it's always the goal it never ends within my minute and insignificant life god loves you he loves me he also loves everyone else who has not yet come to him through his son jesus and that's why he's given us specific clear direct instructions to reach preach and teach people about the gospel so that they can become his children too so that they can become disciples who make disciples as well the task church is the heart of god number two the task is not only important because it's the heart of god but the task is important because it's the goal of the church it has to be our goal if we have any other goal than that then i am afraid we're on the wrong track there's a story of a farmer who told his wife he was going to go out and pick some ripened fruit in his field so he goes he gets off he gets up early and he goes on early start he gets on the truck but the truck doesn't have enough gas so he goes to the store to get some petrol but on his way his way to the store he notices there's some pigs that weren't fed yet in his in his barn so he goes to the corn crib he's gonna pick up a sack of corn but then he realizes beside it there's a sack of potatoes that's sprouting right it's growing old so he let go of the sack of feed and he takes up the sack of potatoes and he's he's heading towards the potato pit but as he goes he passes this wood pile and then he remembers his wife wants him to chop wood so he lets go of a stack of potatoes and grab some some wood and he starts chopping wood but as he's chopping wood an ailing chicken passes by so he drops the axe he forgets about the wood picks up the chicken then he goes back and he forgets what he's doing by the time he's done it's noon and the fruit is already bad without a goal a church is on its way to destruction with the wrong goal a church is on its way to despair with the right goal but with distractions a church is on its way only to disappointment which church do you want us to be hopefully none of the three we want to be a church who understands its goal keeps its goal in front of it and is not distracted so that she or he the church the local church the universal church can complete the task that jesus so clearly gave us before he left otherwise we'll be heading to destruction without a goal we'll be heading to despair if we had the wrong goal or we'd be heading to disappointment if we're distracted the goal of the church and my prayer is that we keep this church the goal of this church to be to accomplish matthew 28 18 to 9 20. see the first three e's the exalt the worship portion the embrace the fellowship the equipping the training that's all about who we are that is about we we love god we we embrace each other we're equipping we're strengthening ourselves the more we worship the more we fall in love with jesus the more we embrace each other the more we learn what it means to love one another the more we equip ourselves the more we become like jesus and all of that a culminates in the last e the last e of extend is both the goal and the result of the first three that's why it's so critical for us to have the extent because if we are all about just the first three then we're missing the mark we're about to enter a critical stage in our life as a church steve pastor steve has moved on with his conviction we need to move forward in our commission it's extremely important for us as a church to remember our goal if we don't will be lost without any direction oswald j smith says any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the great commission has forfeited its biblical right to exist and can i tell you brothers and sisters it's a sad truth but there are churches across the globe who think it's all about the first three e's loving god oh so lost in your spirit lust and worship loving each other oh i love you and accept you the way you are i forgive you strengthening give me more of that i learn so much more all good but if we miss out on the fourth e we're done for we're done for the church does not it does that does not evangelize will fossilize pretty heavy stuff but i think he hits it right on the mark so what does this mean to me what does this mean to you in the mental aspect we must eradicate eliminate destroy demolish remove think of all the the negative terms you can think of any hint of consumerism in our mentality of church and the unfortunate truth and this is not just north america it's probably more true here than other parts of the world but the unfortunate truth is the church because of the distractions and because of the deception of the enemy has tricked the church into thinking that it's all about us into thinking that this is for me this program's for me and this is for me and this is for my kids and that it ends there a church is not an all-you-can-eat spiritual buffet it's not just filled with programs and events that will suit your needs or or tickle your desires or scratch your itches okay don't get me wrong the church can do that and it's great at doing that right we're here to help we're here to level here to serve but that's not the ultimate reason why we exist and if you question me about that don't question me go back to our scripture today that's why jesus gave his last words to the body to the church his believers his disciples back then this is what you need to do that it can't get any clearer and simpler than that we exist because there are still over 7400 people groups who have not heard the name jesus we exist because we live in a country of 296 people groups 61 of still are considered still unreached we exist because we live in one of the most diverse cities the one of the fastest growing cities in our country in which thousands tens of thousands of people from those unreached people groups immigrate to every year that's where god has placed us that's the reality of where we fit in to his task that he's given us what about the practical aspect how can this affect you how does how should this change us when we need to enroll register with pastor paramount in those equipping classes so that you can become more intimate with jesus experience his heartbeat that's the point right it's not just the accumulation of knowledge it's that through that knowledge and the power of the holy spirit we're transformed into his likeness when you and i are transformed into his likeness what happens we start to beat the same heartbeat he's beating for the lost that's why we want to grow stronger within you can strengthen your spiritual life by sharing jesus with others ins it becomes a joy rather than a chore join us as we serve the nice bridge community join us as we serve the lisa community as we build bridges with these people groups i've been talking about some of them i met i met a hindu woman who had never held or seen a bible in our life pray with us mission focused prayer nights every month that we don't have a mission focused sunday the first sunday night of that month is a mission focused prayer night join us as you pray you know what happens you might say you know what i'm not really into mission i don't really understand that you know what i don't even i can't even do my devotions every day it doesn't matter come and join us the more you pray the more you sense the holy spirit moving and he'll direct and shape your heart so that it starts to beat like his in my next mission focus sunday we're going to be talking about another thing you can do is go go jared walinga young 19 year old i think he's just turning 20 one of our youth god speaks into his life changes him drastically he goes we set up he set up a way for him to get to pakistan he just came back he was there for a month and boy did i tell you i'm gonna have to share more about it next time the stories of how god used this young boy amazing why because he was willing and available to go join us as we plan for short-term mission trip to lebanon in the mena region next summer folks the success of a church is not measured by its seating capacity but by its sending capacity there are a few famous pastors who've said that and i don't know which one i can actually accredit it to but it wasn't my great idea but it's true it's not about how we can fill these pews it's about how we can raise up a generation who will lay their lives on the line and go when jesus tells them to go the task is important because it's the heart of god the task is important because it's the heart is the goal of the church and then finally the task is important because it remains uncompleted there are approximately 17 416 people groups in the entire globe and as i mentioned earlier 7004 of those are considered unreached that's if you count each people group in every country that they live in either way that's approximately 42 percent of our world population past 3.2 billion people who still need to be reached with the gospel god's plan the end result the end picture the finale or the end product if you will of the task of the church is this revelation 7 9-10 after this i looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count from every nation every tribe people and language standing before the throne and before the lamb they were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands and they cried out in loud voice salvation belongs to our god who sits on the throne and to the lamb all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures they fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped god saying amen praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our god forever and ever amen this is a finale this is the beautiful end picture of the task this is what we're heading towards as we mentioned though earlier we're far from that about 7 400 people groups unreached people groups far from it but see god desires that those 7 400 people groups unreached people groups come back to him we see that in second peter when he's talking about the last days in second peter 3 9 says the lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some of you understand slowness instead he's patient with you not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance you see paul understood this gap he understood the task he understood the gap between the task and the reality that he was living in that the people still needed to be reached paul took a hold of the task no to put it correctly the task took a hold of him and that's why in acts 20 24 paul says this and i want you to think hard on this because these are some powerful words however paul says i consider my life worth nothing to me my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the lord jesus has given me the task of testifying to the good news of god's grace the task remains uncompleted and god wants to use us to complete this task he wants to use you and me every time someone gives their life to jesus we're one step closer to that task so what does this mean to you practically speaking what does this mean to your everyday lives after you leave this sanctuary and you go out the door and you head back into your everyday life what does this mean well i think this question sums it up it's a hard question and i preach it to myself as much as i preach it to you what do we really value in life what is it all about is it material possessions is it money the accomplishments status family people what is it that really matters that's a question i need to ask myself so that one day when i stand before my savior my lord who gave his life shed his blood for me that i might be saved he looks at me and he can say good well done my servant why because i exalted him a lot because i embraced a lot because i equipped a lot maybe all that but at the end of the day why will a master tell his servant that they did a good job why if that servant completed the task that the master gave him to complete that's where the good well-done good and faithful servant steps in it's not just about us trying our best to live these christian lives yes that's all part of it but the task remains the task it doesn't matter where you are in your spiritual journey it doesn't matter if you were saved yesterday or 25 years ago the task remains the same the task for the church will never change until jesus comes back am i ready and willing and able to stand before my master and my lord and say i did my best with the holy spirit i stuck to the task and here i am that's a question we all need to ask ourselves this is not a guilt trip people like i said i preached this to myself as much as i preached to you but god i pray that this be a wake-up call for us for all of us we sang earlier that there's nothing impossible with our god no nothing he longs to see the lost come back to him he wants to see that task completed through you and through me and through this church if you have said this before if you're a follower of jesus then you are a servant and you are on mission whether you feel it or not believe it or not refuse to accept it or not is the truth will you accept that today and can i say this can i boldly say this people our lives are no longer ours my life is not my life it's not about what i want it's what god wants me to do it's not about ambition it's about our devotion you step out those doors i step out those doors and we think we're the lord of our lives we decide on what we do we decide what we do we do this we do that we choose our life is no longer ours we were bought with a price that price is so costly that he still wants so many to come back to him because of that price as a follower of jesus can we say can i say like paul said in acts 20 i consider my life worth nothing my only aim is to finish and the race and complete the task that the lord jesus has given me the task to testifying to the good news of god's grace as a church as individuals we need to always assess our priorities we need to review our identity of who we are as servants on mission we need to strategize our schedules our budgets so that we can always remain being part of that task and to see it to completion the task is the heart of god it's the goal of god of the church and it still remains uncompleted will you be part of that task let's pray father we thank you that you allow us to be part of what you're doing and i just pray lord jesus that your holy spirit will take what's been spoken remove what shouldn't have been and use what you want to use to bring transformation in our lives that we might be part of what you're doing and complete the task that you've given us in jesus name we pray amen amen thank you josh and bashara for just reminding us the importance of the tasks that we have as a church go ahead give them a hand again both of them i just want
