Exposing The Prosperity Gospel

[Music] open your Bibles to Hebrews chapter 1 and we are going to review just a second from last week on the prosperity gospel where'd it come from and the book health wealth and happiness how the prosperity gospel overshadows the gospel of Christ I'm not going to go a lot into this today this book but it's still one that you need to get there's a lot of really good points and a lot of work was put into this to help people kind of take back the layers of where did this come from and why did they take couple scriptures and build doctrines out of it that have taken Christians into shipwreck and a lot of people aren't serving God today because of these teachings you know that and the emails we get from their kids aren't serving God they don't believe in God because they said this didn't work so this is serious stuff and we have to get back to the Bible and this is one thing I like in Hebrews chapter 1 it said verse 1 God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in times past unto the father's by the prophets 1/2 in these last days what has he done spoken unto us by his son with whom he hath appointed all errors of all things by homies also made the world's and verse 3 it says the word of his power Jesus and the word so God speaking today through his word and we have a lot of New Apostolic prophets that are saying God saying something new aren't you glad God doesn't trust flakiness to men because we'd always say well I don't want to miss it I don't want to miss it so I want to hear what the latest prophets saying so I God said he's spoken to us in these last days by his son so the Word of God is very very clear that we need to stay in the perimeters of his word right otherwise we're going to get off into strange goofy doctrines and what always happens with strange goofy doctrines is it's a little poison and we got to find where the poison is because they take scriptures they wrap it up in scriptures well it you know they're reading it out of the word there are scriptures in the word but it's not a matter of just taking a few doc scriptures and making doctrines out of that it leads people away from Christ and it draws people under themselves and this is part of the new world religion and the the if you haven't got that I've taught on that from years ago the new world order by ralph alfred a person look I can't think of this last name right now Ralph Epperson EP pers o n and he said in his book the the worship the new world religion will be the worship of man and his mind the worship of man and his mind we've been talking about these teachings are saying we're little gods now we talked about last week how it's all about our mind and our thoughts are their true scriptures about our mind in our thoughts yes but not to the point of where these doctrines take them we're supposed to think on whatsoever things are pure lovely yes there's some power in our words to create build people up but not create universes and create realities and go to these extremes so we're going to look at this but you have to know that in the last days God has spoken to us by his son we need to read his word get in the words lay down some of these books we've been reading about what men are prophets are saying about the word get back into your Bible that's where our security comes from okay now the prosperity gospel we talked about this last week is new thought and what is new thought it's science of the mind it all is about the mind remember we talked about the the new world religion will be man and his mind so we're born-again not anything to do with us and why do we pick up all this stuff and trying to work out our salvation by ourselves we have to remember it's finished we keep trusting in Jesus all the way through right there's a rest in that but the prosperity gospel is new thought repackaged and slightly altered that's why it's important to know history to know where these things have come from it's marked by religious beliefs but their beliefs that are not found in the Bible and we're going to prove some of that today marked by religious beliefs not found in Scripture what God is a force we read this one thing out I've got so much stuff going on here the one part I want to share out of this book today because this is what we've all heard the prosperity gospel does not point people towards Christ instead it points them to the lust of the eyes the lust of the flesh and the pride of life first John 2:15 through 17 while prosperities teachers talk about faith their understanding of what faith is and what faith accomplishes difference from what the Bible teaches okay biblical Christianity understands faith to be trust in the person of Jesus we pray and we believe for healing we're trusting in him we're trusting in his finished work we trust in his word we relax we rest in his promises right he accomplished at Calvary is very important at Calvary prosperities teachers preach preach quite a different doctrine that faith is a spiritual force a spiritual energy a spiritual power it is this faith force of faith which makes the laws of the spirit world function this is off of a book from the number one faith preacher probably in America right now there are certain laws he says governing prosperity revealed in God's word faith causes them to function faith causes them to function according to prosperity theology faces faith is not a God centered act of the will stemming from God rather it's a human centered spiritual force directed at God so now all of a sudden we are commanding we are using this faith at God okay faith is a spiritual force a spiritual energy a spiritual power what is this this is faith in oneself faith in faith or having instead of what having faith what is the Bible say in God we simply have faith in Him prosperity preachers believe that when the right amount of faith is manifested and course none of us know how much that is God grants healing and blessings this is because God is bound by the universal laws that have been established faith is a magic formula that enables believers to obtain whatever they desire to believe the gospel is to believe in Jesus and his power not our own can you say Amen to believe in the gospel is to believe in Him to believe in what he said not about what a prophet said he said this is where we're going in these last times okay so there they're talking that God is a force that the spirit of the mind is reality people are divine there's so many false doctrines in this prosperity movement that diseases originate in the mind thoughts can create or change reality this is paganism pagan philosophies part of Hinduism part of Transcendental Meditation science it's what I call spiritual high oh hush they say that our mind Creole creates reality okay now remember we went through this last week just a real quick their leaders that started new thought which is a metaphysical mind science they don't know how it works but its laws of the universe they're clairvoyance they are hypnotists they possess the power to look into heaven and hell and I say today we've got a lot of these so-called prophets and apostles that are saying the same thing that they can just go to heaven they can go see into hell they can see all this stuff clairvoyance but not by the Spirit of God God doesn't God wants us to live on the earth and there's a veil and these people think they can cross the veil whenever they want now there was a few people in the Bible and it was a holy odd they couldn't even talk about it but these people go and have pizza and light and they go and have parties they have splash parties in heaven something is wrong with these Gospels with these doctrines and according to the new thought they had God appeared to them and say you have to bring new doctrine to the church now according to Hebrews 1 here we found out there is no new doctrines Jesus said he's going or God said he's gonna speak through his son right this is very important because it puts boundaries on people that are saying God's giving him new revelation to give to the church because us as believers and new ones at that we don't ever want to miss God we want to hear what God's saying so it goes after the naive it goes after the simple it goes after those that don't know their Bibles and that are hungry for truth but they end up what getting deceived and sidetracked and now all of a sudden it becomes a salvation of works it's all the everything is on you what you have to do and it produces shame you're never quite good enough you're never gonna quite be that God is not a God of shame aren't you glad so this this whole thing puts you under a salvation of works you got to put the armor on you got to take it off you got to put it on guess what it's on if you're a believer it's on so they claim that they talked to Paul this guy they say they talked to Paul for a year they're also hypnotists with clairvoyant powers now what's a clairvoyant they have ability to gain information supernaturally and it's clear seeing mentally with spiritual powers but guess what that's forbidden in Scripture what is Claire Davitt divination it means to foresee to be inspired by a God well guess what the spirit world is very real there are many voices out there there's many spirits there's doctrines of demons out there but we're safe when we trust in the Bible but if you're open to thinking oh I'm just going to hear from a spirit today you're gonna get deceived and seduced to practice divination is to uncover hidden knowledge by supernatural means and is that in the Bible yes it's in the Bible in acts 16 16 there was a girl the slave girl that brought her master's much money by giving super natural information right well Paulin them what did they do they cast the devil out of her and she was glad and their masters were mad because they lost their means to make money so that shows you that this is not new this has always been around but we are spoken Christians should avoid any practice related to divination including fortune-telling astrology witchcraft tared cards I don't care if they call them holy ghost cards there's still tera cards what they're doing and a lot of these supernatural schools of ministry necromancing talking to the dead we are forbidden so God's not going to send someone from the dead to talk to you if he tells us you it's forbidden see you to mean it that would bring contradiction but they're all saying that this the spirit world that these dead people are talking to them what do they believe first of all you need to know that it's a metaphysical doctrine it's it's philosophies it's new philosophies it's mind science they believe and they say they don't believe in Christian science we've been taught faith it's not really Christian Sciences Christian sense is what we heard but it is it's science of the mind and it's they believe disease is really mental and the cure is you've got to change your mind you've got to change your mind Quimby one of the founders stated if I believe I'm sick I'm sick for my feelings are my sickness and my sickness is my belief and my belief is in my mind therefore all the diseases in the mind or in my beliefs this is what they taught a new thought what does it happen it's crept right along in our Christian churches now the metaphysics or the science of the mind they believe the mind creates and they control reality that's why they deny symptoms to exist they deny if you're coughing up a storm and they say I don't have a cough I don't have a cough I don't know they're afraid that if they say they have a cold it will give power to it and it'll create it and very sad because this has also been brought into our churches under the name of faith now Napoleon Hill I had no idea who he was I taught this at a woman's convention and I just expect arted to expose some of this I just started learning I had no idea that this was a sacred crowd cowl of many people because he wrote the book Think and Grow Rich he's also a new thought publisher a new thought and you need to know why would you follow someone that died penniless and it didn't work for him people don't know the end sometimes of these people and the guy that he studied under he also was poverty-stricken but they all talk about these laws that didn't even work for them so in page 9 of Napoleon Hill he said this book contains the secret and thinking a certain way will bring riches to you and with the new thought it always involves money everything's about money bringing money to you taught to Napoleon Hill he admits it that were spirits who posed as ascended masters and he released himself a gave himself to those to write this book and it's called channeling channeling that's also forbidden in the Bible we're not supposed to be given over to other spirits right Napoleon Hill was famous for his self-help book the science of getting rich believing in what in yourself first of all as Christians we don't believe in ourselves that's why we got saved believing in yourself and align your thoughts and beliefs with your greatest desires an appeal to man's lowest nature of lust and calling it spirituality guess what Satan is the ultimate the greatest salesman there is he knows how to sell anything right now in the thinking Grow Rich I want to quote from his book just think of this how this goes against Christianity but it's being taught motivationally and it's also being taught in a lot of these things that sell products and stuff they're using his books because they want this is how they dangle these carrots in front of people he said I am the master of my fate I don't want to be the master of my fate deal he said I'm the master of my fate I am the captain of my soul on page 86 Think and Grow Rich Napoleon Hill died penniless penniless and in a sick hospital yet he stated you are the master of your own fate it's a mind science it's anti God it's anti truth and the doctrines of demons teach and it's right into the church under the Christian labels just one of his chapters and I'm not going to go through much of this but Napoleon Hill wrote first in Chapter three I know I have the ability I have the ability we are supposed to be depending on him I can do all things through Christ who strengthens ability we are abiding in him and aren't you glad that's what we got saved we knew our own ability was nothing well now we get in the church and it's like all of a sudden now the self-esteem self-confidence has to be built back up and you just have to discover who you are we know who we are we're a wretched sinner without Christ we get born again now we live in him we move in him we have our being in him well he says I know I have the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose in life therefore I demand of myself persistent continuous action towards its attainment talk about works I realized the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce himself an outward physical action and gradually transform themselves into physical reality I will concentrate my thoughts for 30 minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become thus creating in my mind a clear mental picture I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use again they go back to what saying it's a force on and on he goes I'm not going to go I will sign my name to this formula run whenever you hear the word formula commit to memory and repeat it aloud once a day with full faith that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so I will become a self-reliant and successful person back of this formula is a law of nature which no man has yet been able to explain the name by which one calls the law is little importance in the world they call it the secret and some of the churches they call it faith the important fact about it is it works for the glory listen to this who's it for his words it works for the glory and success of mankind guess what we're here to live for the glory of God we're here to do all things for his glory you guys doing okay Galatians 1:8 says the we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel then what we've heard what does it say let him be accursed so there's gonna be lots of Gospels there's gonna be a lot of doctrines that you've gotta sift through you have got to do your own research you've got to find out what's God what's not of God what have I learned that's real what is it and it is a grievous process because we were all so young and hungry for God that this stuff we all thought was God but now we're learning God's showing his his true church you know come back to me get get your dependency back on me trust in my words not the words of false prophets because there's going and I think part of the shaking is God is exposing false doctrine all we can do is warn people people that don't want to hear they're going to go on their merry way but one day they're gonna face reality too it's going to hit them and they're gonna have to say everything I was taught was wrong ah how come I can't control the situation because we were taught we were so special that nothing bad would ever happen to us and sickness should never happen to us though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel what does it say let him be accursed Colossians 2:8 beware beware be on guard don't just put your heart down and let anybody talk to you lest any man spoil you through philosophy this is a philosophy this is wisdom of man and vain deceit and after the tradition of men and the rudiments of the world and not after Christ were warned this is going to happen aren't you thankful he's showing you what he's opening it up your eyes and kind of in a nutshell here the conclusion here is the new thought prosperity gospel what do you have to do speak the right words that causes success with words and having faith in oneself we don't have faith in ourselves our faith is what in God rest in his promises do we still believe there's a lot of things we believe yes but we're not going out trying to make all this stuff happen because we're doing it putting faith in ourselves the new thought mind sciences define thoughts as forces that create reality and the reason you're poor the reason you're sick the reason you're unsuccessful is because you have negative thoughts this is what they believe they've taken and they've made a religion out of it humans have the power to get whatever they deserve because they're godlike sickness should not be experienced if you admit it shouldn't ever be experienced according to the mind sciences but if you are sick then you broke a universal law it's it's definitely your fault and here again there's all the shame there's all the condemnation that's why a lot of people are backslidden sickness should not be experienced if you admitted it in your body then you broke a universal law you gave to XIV its power by thoughts and by words does this make sense and sometimes we have to repeat this because we have been taught so opposite and they know brainwashing just keep repeating it over and over and over and you're gonna believe it well to unlearn it sometimes we got to repeat it repeat it repeat it they believe since reality's in the mind nothing can invade or attack people unless there's something wrong with their thinking health doesn't matter if it's health if it's wealth if it's a husband if it's a healing the method is the same if you want a wife control your thoughts call her into being control your thoughts and success will materialize like this one guy says I was believing for this woman and then I saw her at the class reunion 40th class reunion and the ground shifted and everything about her was oh my god I'm so glad God didn't give her to me a new thought philosophy everything exists in order to pursue money we are not to pursue money now we seek first the kingdom of God and he said these things will be added to us in fact in the prosperity message if you said it I always preached on the dangers of prosperity because I always saw it I was hearing all these peaches preach this and I saw them falling into lust and covetousness and it's like if you have money you got to be careful with it and you got to be sure you obey God with it because we still have to stand before God with what we've done with what he's given us even though if we've been taught false stuff by all these preachers we're there's still a truth about giving there's still a truth about serving there's still some truth so we got to find out what it is but it's all about money you must visualize believe speak the right words repeatedly how many times I don't know but but that last time might get that law in the universe to work for you just that one more time and you will see your circumstances change new thought religion is not being set free from sin this is the other thing you're not going to hear a lot about sin and these the new religion that's coming which is man in his mind which is new age you're not going to hear about sin you're gonna hear loving your neighbor it's all about of the law of love to them Jesus was not the Son of God now the New World Order there will be a new religion the worship of man in his mind and it says that the Bible will be rewritten to fit with this new religion a new religion will be created with qualities of all other religions combined to appeal to everyone I just did one and do this yourself New Living Translation xposed look this up yourself these translations are omitting so much in John 3:16 admits it takes away the only begotten the word begotten is taken out that should be enough to say I don't want that Bible Jesus has one begotten son they teach there are many begotten sons now we are sons but there's only one begotten right that's a very important word so Deuteronomy 4:2 says you should not add under the word which I command you neither shall you diminish or take away you don't take out those words that are very very important that that make Jesus who he is right well in this whole thing there's too many scriptures that are taken out words that have been changed entire verses omitted pages after pages of these new translations they're being perverted slowly well they're just so easy to read that's what they save they're so easy to read but so much is being omitted and taken out this is all plan of the New World Order a new religion and the worship of man in his mind very important so it's not being set free from sin the Gospels of new thought is acceptable to everyone because it emits sin and each person defines the gospel for himself so pretty soon you can find a church pretty much that tolerates any sin we'll just all get together and create a new Jesus a new gospel we'll have our own Bibles that's why God says right in the very beginning he said now I'm speaking to you through my son so we aren't confused so all these new Bibles are coming out and all these new churches are rising up and all these new so-called Bible schools with their going to visit heaven and all this this is all new gospel this is all new this is all part of the the new world religion which is to take us get us back into our mind get us back under works and forget Jesus forget the cross forget the power of his word even though they say they're preaching the word they take a couple scriptures and they make you know like beloved I wish above all things you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers they take that one scripture that's a salutation that's a greeting that's not a doctrine and that also means their prosperity actually has looked it up years ago because when I was studying this before you have a safe journey have a good journey everything you need on your journey God wants us to have everything we need on our journey it's not taking a doctrine enix and giving us excuses for lavish lifestyles that's caused the world to laugh and mock and say that is just even my brother who is not really walking with the Lord he said he brought this stuff up to me he's like this you think this is Christian the world knows it's not but we have hook line and sinker thought well I don't mind if they have jets and I don't mind if they have this or that and listen where does it end where does it end the prosperity message is preached without Jesus on the cross and it's human focused religion it's human focused religion can I say that again it's a human focus religion it puts it all back on you based on their own works thoughts and efforts in order to succeed in life we are sinners and we must rely on Jesus work on the cross Ephesians 1 5 through 6 we live for him and we live for his glory not for the lust of the eyes the lust of the flesh and the pride of life our faith is in Jesus in his words amen I'm gonna close with that our faith is in Jesus and his words so where did a lot of this prosperity come from from new thought from the mind sciences that takes us into another realm in other words if you're you can just sit and listen to the secret the law of attraction it's the same thing the secret saying you know we're all Christ consciousness and this is this is part of the new age that it's not just about Jesus dying on the cross after all we're all part of the Christ consciousness he this is the New Age thinking rather than being in its subtly into the church now and then they've raised up a lot of preachers that are on TV and a lot of people are never going to get saved because they think that this is that they already are saved they just have to confess and believe in themself have power in their own ability do you see how dangerous this is and they don't preach in Jesus in the cross and the finished work they preach on it's all about what we have to do our faith is what in God get back to our Bibles and sometimes you just need to turn some preachers off because it's self-help it's a self-help gospel when Jesus came and there's some things we can learn but sometime when you're going through the discovery of trying to find truth sometimes you got to shut it all off let the Lord show you and then add on teachers as the Lord brings to you because I don't know about you but we've had a huge housecleaning where I've me and my friends like this this is totally new age and different clothing it's very subtle but this this is infecting our churches and it's infecting Christians and God doesn't want us to see if day men Father we thank you for showing us the roots of some of these movements and thank you for opening our eyes that we don't have to be deceived and we can only warn people have to study they have to unlearn they have to do all that we've done but the truth is there if they will study to show themselves approved you'll the Holy Spirit is who we live through they give no power to the Holy Spirit father we thank you for the Holy Spirit he empowers us he gives us the ability to even understand what you've written in your word and we all give you the praise and the glory and everyone said [Music] [Music]
