Exploring Nepal's Muslim Community: A Heartwarming Eid Experience

foreign so last year I spent this time in the city of Pokhara I met Roland [Music] and he invited me to celebrate the morning of eight together I accepted the invitation and we went to the nearest mosque I didn't know much about the Muslim Community in Nepal I knew that it was a minority but I really didn't know much more when we got close to the mosque I started to see balloons and children and people wearing rutras and thobes but I was so shocked to receive the most unexpected welcome in a mosque named after my home country's holiest site Allah I'm overwhelmed you guys are very welcoming it was really unbelievable to experience this love and support so far away from home I was so intrigued by these people so I wanted to know more are you the Imam yeah pray for me you pray for us we follow Sufism you know yes so what's your good name nice to meet you and how long have you lived here we're local here you're local all Nepali [Music] Nepali Language not from Kashmir Indiana so what are the origins of Muslims here in Nepal because I know exact idea about this you know because we do we did not write out that's why it's like very very confusing as far as I know it's been like four or 500 years for 500 years we are so peacefully living in Nepal with other religious they respect us very respected there is alhamdulillah peace and harmony I was amazed by the strength of this community who had managed to keep their Traditions alive even in this very far corner of the world alhamdulillah [Music] okay now now I'm taking a video Mubarak [Music]
