[Music] [Music] [Music] while traveling through New York State I decided to make a pit stop in silo city just off the highway as you enter Buffalo New York there it is one of the city's large abandoned grain elevators we got some boats kind of interesting there just left here the last time this one was registered was 2009 we're gonna duck out this back door this would be a whole lot easier at night more boats 1995 a raft it looks like it's dry but then you break through the top layer and that's wet here's the huge variety our winches for the chutes not really sure what they were used for so if you know let us know in the comments unless you climb our rope there's the elevator see the pulleys you walk up these stairs you step on the belt or the on the platform onto the belt and these chutes were there to force you to put your arms in because if you didn't they didn't want you getting caught in the opening I guess that was deemed safer regardless the whole thing is kind of terrifying odd interesting so you could ride this all the way up to the top and then you would come down that side step off right there there was probably a set of stairs on that side as well well there's a door you don't need to go through I wonder how much space in each floor would have been taken up by equipment that's been since been removed and scrapped here's another rhythm smells awful I wonder how much space in each floor would have been taken up by equipment that's been since been removed and scrapped the rest of the place doesn't smell like anything and there's not really dust or anything there's so much wind the dust is all gone so there's one piece of equipment left in this whole Factory and it's this oh so that goes up to the next floor I think nope this isn't the top floor there's another floor on top of this there wasn't a single sign I said no trespassing do not enter nothing there was not a single sign at this place issued any shoot they all go to the same place down so that beam fell into that position that is a solid steel beam this looks like where the elevator motor would have been Liana because Tribune there's a ladder on the other side or there's another staircase on the other side up one more at least two more floors this place just keeps going up and up let's see what's down here you could climb in one of those bins if you want it to and then slide down and fall under that and then die hey somebody was from Ohio so here you've got a man elevator I found one in Chicago there's one that's still working in Chicago so that looks like the tracks and they were probably mounted right there and you could ride the elevator up on a belt it's called a belt endless man lifts a platform looks super sketch I don't know if I can take it anymore it is so I so high it's so sketchy this is the top Wow [Music] would you look at that pulley I think for my four foot diameter or bigger I'm not sure what it ran unless that's the flywheel to keep it going that's got all the weight on the outside that would make sense [Music] 2014 last set of stairs forgot about these I was wondering how that ran now I know into the gear that runs it and then there would have been an electric motor that sat right here ran that chain and then that keeps it from going too fast so uses centrifugal force and as it spins it kicks out and applies pressure to these friction discs and makes it slow down so it doesn't get too fast and you know do damage the equipment it's your tip of the day folks actually your tip of the day is always stop always get the picture force yourself to go check it out let's see who made this us number probably a patent number and I'm pretty sure that's what this is this is a flywheel to keep it going because it's moving heavy heavy heavy loads so they put a big flywheel on there so it makes it hard to stop and then this is some sort of so this was mounted downstairs I think this connects to the center shaft to keep the axle from spinning because this was bolted to the floor down below it's really really really windy and there's that everybody in the world can see you know what that means if you want to see more adventures like this don't forget to subscribe like the video comment show us some love show us that you like what we're doing and we'll make more of it and as always be safe out there I'm getting out of here time to fly the drone [Music] you
