american murderer chris watts so i've been receiving lots and lots of messages since this first came out on netflix i think it's trending at number one at the moment believe in bruce cast your eye over this and tell me what other people have missed obviously there's been a few body language videos out there and what i'm going to try to do remember i do this is my job this is you know this is what i do i'm not just someone who reads a book and then comes and commentates or says well this person is laughing up this person scratching their cheek this is what i do and i've done it all over the world for the past 20 years so what i want to do with this particular video is babies point out what some other people have missed maybe to go that laby look to give you an idea of some of the neuroscience psychological profiling psychometric profile other reasons about personality evaluations about what has went on here what have other people not seen what were the tells that were present within the body cam footage that other people have missed so you can start seeing stuff on more granular level and putting that picture together it's a topic i just want to put a little sort of warning out there if i can um it's about a person who murdered his family and i know the regular viewers here on the believe in bruce channel you know that i've got two daughters myself so i even felt my throat going there when i watched the program last night it was just total silence for an hour and a half me and my wife just looking at thinking how on earth can this happen so if any of the content or the images that i use in this video upset you it's not my intention to but i need to put them in here and i need to speak freely as i do backed up by the science and the neuroscience about why i'm talking about and why i'm giving you my opinion so yeah the body language and i also want to give you an insight on the believer in bruce chan i always talk about digging that little bit deeper that involves the questioning of the subject who you're talking to all right the setup the words that you use the inflection that you use the space that you give them everything to take control of that situation from them to you so i'll be talking not just about chris watson's body language but the techniques the tools and the systems that the fbi or the police cerebrally used in order to get chris watts to break which he eventually did and i would just like to say this if there's anybody out there who's trying to keep some secrets from your partner who you might have cheated on your partner you want to hope and cross your fingers that they are not watching this video because by the end of it you might find yourself in the interrogation chair and i also will share with you again i always like to go to that extra level or an extra level about the exact and i'm being specific here the exact moment where i knew the police knew that chris watts was lying [Music] so welcome to the believe in bruce channel if you're a subscriber welcome back if you're new take two seconds out to show some love and subscribe below if you're interested anything to do with body language psychology trying to present the best version of yourself and trying to control the people around you if that really interests you then subscribe below because this is the channel for you and also with this video if i get if the video does well and i get 5 000 likes or more i will do a short a follow-up video that based on neuroscience psychological profiling personal evaluations i will give my opinion it might not be palatable it might not be acceptable it might not be popular about the trigger i believe or the reason why this actually occurred and it's not all to do just with chris watts so yeah if you're interested remember comment below give us a thumbs up if i get 5 000 thumbs ups i'll do the follow-up video but just before i go giving you the examples here what i want to do is just take two seconds and i want you to understand that chris watch knows he is guilty he knows he is guilty all right without a shadow of a doubt he knows he is guilty why is this important well when you're trying to lie about something unless you've got certain mental conditions you cannot kid yourself that you have not done it all right this is where the limbic system comes in this is where the fighter flight comes in this is where the adrenal dumps come in so although he thinks he's in control of that situation as soon as he starts getting asked questions that amygdala starts kicking in you can't control those autonomous reactions all right but the fact is just like you if you've done something and you know you're guilty we're already primed to react like we are guilty and that's what the interrogation process all interrogation processes really zone in on the fact that you know you're guilty so we're going to crack you by that by giving you the space to admit your guilt just take some structure and some time and that's what you see here with chris watson just bear that in mind throughout this video chris watts knows that he is guilty therefore his behaviors thoughts and feelings are associated with that of a guilty person in here most of the footage is from the body cam so it's not fantastic you can see what's going on but the audio is very clear so the first bit of footage i want to talk about is right at the start of the documentary where you'll see chris watch so there's um shenan's friend who dropped her off the night before she's come across i don't know a brother upon her whoever that may be but chris arrives and the police is there and what happens is that we're talking about a baseline normal here if i was investigating if i was interrogating if i was questioning if i was being curious and trying to pull out some information i'm going to be looking for what would a normal person do in this situation now if a person doesn't do that or does less of it or does more of it it doesn't mean they're guilty but i will be asking why are they not doing what a normal person would be doing because often that's the little crack that if you can shoot down you start exposing more stuff so when chris watch turns up here sort of runs across and shakes the policeman's hand as if he's giving him a high five like hey brother how are you doing no what's happened to my wife where's my kids what's going on here you know to the family friend i thought you dropped off the night before like zero emotion that you would expect in a situation like this take a look okay scott how you doing so this is the only vehicle she would have the only one that she would drive oh it's interesting because here is where chris watts starts to try to tell a narrative remember he knows he's guilty and you'll see what he does is he starts to introduce chapters if you will of a book about well this has happened and then this has happened and then he's trying to paint a picture and one of the first things i want you to do is do this when he says all the girls blankies are gone they never go anywhere without their blankies so that bit of information what i call the secondary bit of information wasn't needed but it's the way that all the guilt again there's no emotion there's no inflection there's no cadence and that's because the amygdala is kicking in he's trying to control everything within his brain and when you've got some fear in front of you everything everything is reduced because you're trying to there's that many plates going on inside his head that would give an obvious explanation if you know what you're looking for about why that energy is not there that you would expect in that situation um they're blanking they sleep with they don't leave anyone done good quick succession we get another one here it's where shannan's phone is found and rather than i mean he does something weird with his hand it's like he wants to pick it up but he doesn't think there's something going on in his head there when he goes to pick up the phone but again it's an unneeded bit of detail a bit of accuracy that if i was the police officer and i was trained to be able to listen what am i expecting what's happened and what's not happening what's prison what's not present is which it's her lifeline so the the girls wouldn't go anywhere without the blankies shenan what i'm saying is she wouldn't leave the phone and this is her life right i've had all the words in the world to use and what i've said is this is her lifeline i wonder you understand that a story i'm trying to paint here is very much very much that they've just upped and left does she work yes she works from hello oh from home in that story that he's trying to tell all the girls blankies are gone this is her lifeline what i would be looking for is confusion here i want somebody running in as a baseline normal to not set off my spidey senses like what's happened where are they you were with the last have you seen her what's going on where's my kids like panic confused i've got no idea what that's what i want in this situation and we are not getting that in the next one the next one he brings in the ring all right the ring in such a weird uncommon unneeded almost presentation type this is the rig it just doesn't go with the scenario he's like bring it if i'm gonna take my ring off kelly i do love your doll and i'm just using it for demonstration purposes it will go back on as soon as i have done this but he brings it in like and he's looking to see everybody look i have found the ring and he just and he just looks at it but it's over go back on kelly it's overdramatical it's over dramatized it's it it's everything it shouldn't be [Music] and then it moves on to the neighbors area all right so they went into the neighbor's house bearing in mind if this must be a dad of two young girls all right so i think i can connect here and admittedly my baseline is different the chris has been slain but i'm a dad of two young girls as well and he goes at the neighbors the neighbors have got the cctv the never brings up the cctv and he's not even looking at it i'll be like stop zoom in rewind what was that oh it was a bag of crisps okay but oh stop there who's that who's is that car you don't get anything of this you don't get anything what would be expected in this situation to the point where he's actually more focused because he knows he knows that he backed up the car and put the bodies in he knows that i came around by he's operating from a perspective of a guilt the standpoint of i know that i've done that but what he's really trying to do is he knows his neighbor knows he knows he knows he's never knows that he usually parks his car in a different place so what he's done here is he's come in with a reason to try and validate it to try and calm the neighbor down and the neighbor picks this up in the next video but when he's reversing in he's like giving such a digital answer on the reason why he reversed his car into the garage he's answering a question that nobody asked again that would alert my spidey senses why are you giving me all this detail when i haven't even asked you i didn't ask you if that was your car reversing up against it oh why did you do it but you just went into war of the roses about why you just parked your car in the position that you did that's uncommon all right that's coming that's not needed boom boom boom all these warning signs are going off and that's because he knows his neighbor knows he doesn't usually park his car there driving from this street from history this is him at 5 17. let me report [Music] because if there is any sort of action out of this camera i would have got it like i had i had issues the other other week when people were kind of stealing stuff out of like garages and stuff like that and i have park control i have your remark right here yeah now this bit did get us he's at the nearby house at the end of that conversation and he looks towards the tv and you see the fetus on the tv now again it's been widely reported that shenan was pregnant he even says 14 or 15 weeks old in this particular section of the video and there's a trigger there all right there's a trigger he sees the trigger the image he's going to talk about i'm not saying he had to talk about it what i'm saying is he gets triggered we all get triggered by images sound smells anything to do with the senses why is this important well it plays out later on in this video so keep watching but there's a trigger that the interrogators try to use that is not unlike what you see here in the tv but take a look she's pregnant as well and then when chris leaves the neighbors the neighbor's like this is not him this is weird he was moving backwards and forwards now he may be nervous but he wasn't nervous when he was next door remember we're looking for a baseline the policeman says oh well if you put yourself in his position etc etc then you might be nervous well stop he wasn't nervous next door his baseline's changed when it's coming here and the neighbor says he never parks his car there that's why his baseline behavior has changed because he knows the neighbor knows he doesn't park his car there that's why you get the behavior in his house and then when he's come to the nearby that's the difference and if he only knew what he was looking for there that could have been on that a little bit quicker this i find a bit weird at the end abnormal uncommon let's see at the end of the conversation when the police guys are leaving what he says look here's my contact details give us a ring and what you'll hear chris watts says he says sweet like what if that again i can only try to put myself in that situation with my two girls i'd be like well is this your current number i'm going to try it stay there i just want to make sure it rings what happens if i can't get through you when can i ring it is there anybody else i can ring none of this all he says is yeah sweet as if they just arranged to go for a beer at the game as far as all the friends that we could think of do you want my card or anything i'll i'll take it okay just call that number so i don't want to answer that phone 24 7. and then just leave your contact and then we've got chris watts outside where he's been asked a question by a reporter in front of a camera and says now look this may be a tough question but did you have an argument or it's something along those lines and what you see christopher said well it wasn't an argument it was like an emotional conversation something like that but what i want you to do is watch his arms his arms are crossed now there's no self soothing here what he's doing is protecting himself and when we talk about behavioral clusters congrats that amygdala firing that limbic system fighting up that fight or flight the self-preservation that there self-soothing doesn't go with what he says at the end or actually what his face does which is smile i just want them back he's smiling as if he's just told the joke in the bar there is no emotion there whatsoever apart from him not connecting at all with the fact that his wife and two young daughters is missing it's you know it's just not there so you couple that smile up in that situation which is nobody would do nobody who was not guilty would do as well as his arms that he's actually starting to protect themselves so although he's trying to give this off his arms betray who he was really trying to protect which is him this might be a tough question but did would you guys get into an argument before it wasn't it wasn't like an argument we had emotional conversation but i'll leave it at that but it's i just want them back now here what we've got is the interview and i want you to just point out this is how you set up an interview scenario i want you to have a look at the position of the first interrogator he's not sitting across the table from him he's sitting right next to him this reduces the space between you and i me and the subject there's less place to hide you are i can see the full front of your body i can see everything that's going on so and you know this now i'm not doing anything there verbally but what i'm doing is i'm positioning myself to start praying in your amygdala to start framing you to say right okay i'm uncomfortable in this position one of the options i've got is to just tell the truth to get out of it there's a number of other options absolutely but that is one of them and you do that just by positioning yourself correctly so again if you've got a cheating partner go up to them boom make sure you can see all of them yeah make sure you can see all of them before you start asking your questions and that's what they do and they're not going straight into it what they're doing here is they're getting them to slowly start opening up to build that rapport you'll notice that the interviewer is leaning away a little bit and with his arms crossed he's got a nice almost monotone voice that's coming over but what he's saying is like i'm not sure of you chris just enough to start praying many system for chris to want him to like him because that's what he's got to do chris has got to want that person to like him in order to get off to get free to you know to walk away without the conviction to get away without being nominated for actually committing the crime that he has committed and you'll see this where the position of the person the arms crossed in the lean back but the monitoring voice it's all part of the initial interrogation process have a look so i know it's hard to talk about you mentioned that there is a hard conversation too if you had about you're buried can you really get into that conversation and then it goes to the next part to remember this conversation's been going on for a while and now what you'll see is he's got chris warmed up chris has come remember chris knows that he's guilty it's only a matter of time if you've got the correct structure the correct space and the correct questions it's only a matter of time the drivers will present themselves the enablers will present themselves but you'll see what he's doing he almost leans over so his body's positions change from this to now you know now we are in a rapport bear situation to i'm listening to this story it's like storytelling very relaxed yeah chris i'm your friend i'm your friend just keep coming keep coming keep offering the information but notice the change in his body position in order to further develop that rapport with chris in order to keep chris talking and you also see where chris says look you know i wasn't sure if she had just left but then also after that he said well you know the cause of being around the canine units but somebody must have knew her to take her away there was no forced entry there was no you know there's no broken glass anything like that if you could just listen more when you listen to what's being said especially in the situation try with your partner just listen to what's being said very often they're actually giving you exactly what's being said just in a roundabout way partial telling as we call it just by balling on a few words you actually get the truth but listen to what he says she must have knew them though she must have knew then there was no boy she did your husband if someone took her it would have to have been someone she knew because there's there's no sign of anything like being disturbed broken and now we've got the polygraph chest now i really like this female interrogator she's put she plays the bad cop the gentleman plays the good cop he's the car one he's the relaxed one she's the one who's like you did do it i know this like she's really good at him she's really firing off his amygdala system he doesn't want to engage with her so because of that threat you've then got the good cup one he comes in and he's calm and he actually plays this out later on he's calm he's got that rapport with chris chris wants to engage with him more in order not to have to engage with her but it's all part of the system but she says about the polygraph test oh polygraph test is not 100 percent accurate it could be ambiguous etc but look at it is not as a truth or lie look at it as part of the system part of the structure to get chris to break because if it did come up like that and it was chris was obviously proved to be deceitful then what you've got to look at here is that there's another thing there's another bolt on here that's for in his amygdala response he knows he's guilty he doesn't need the polygraph to tell him but now what he's got is an indicator as a factual indicator that somebody else knows he's guilty such as the polygon and he believes that the interrogator knows that he's guilty as well all of this is just cracking cracking cracking pressure pressure spears question pressure in order to get chris to tell the truth if you had nothing to do with this disappearance like we're going to find that out today and obviously i mean i hope that you know if you did have something to do with their disappearance um it would be really stupid for you to come in and take a photograph today right like if you really know like you should not be here right now sitting in this chair if you had anything to do with shanann and then little girl okay and she does this beautifully as well by she's primary system even further and she says it's so just like in a stride you know the really cool thing about this is at the moment only you know if you know what happened to shannan or not but within five minutes i'm gonna know too how cool is that if she said really but the way she says it the amygdala fire she's priming him for the test thing about this is right now there's only one person in this room that knows what the truth is in about five minutes there's gonna be two of us so another indicator here that he's not being truthful he says before before 2018 before 2018 did you ever see anything out of anger to a loved one and he says yes and then he says no why would you say no we've all been annoyed we've all been frustrated hell we've all been annoyed we've all been frustrated we've all said things we didn't want now so for him to say yes then change it to renewable straight away again my spidey senses that's abnormal he must be the most angelic person i've ever met in his whole life before 2018 never to have said anything and get to someone who he loved before 2018 did you ever see anything out of anger to a loved one yes no yes no yes no and then this is it the bit where i know the fbi or the police knew that chris was lying so you'll see the polygraph tests over she starts winding up the wires she walks back around it christens you know it's very hard to relax etc and watch what she does when she walks out to the room she says yeah i know now in context the old pinocchio moment yeah i know she knows that like she's been watching the screen she's feeling uncomfortable now which is what you get that for it's not coming from chris it's coming from here but in the context of the situation her brain is here she's not saying it but her brain is processing that information of the guilt which is what we see further in the video you know we know that you've kelly we know you knew that you were going to feel the polygraph test but she shows this just by that touch of the pinocchio nose it's kind of hard to relax [Music] and then this is where the take control this is where chris he was never in control but now he knows he's not in control there is no other option there is no other narrative that the interrogators are used now other than you're guilty tell us the truth you knew you're going to feel the polygraph test tell us the truth even to the point where when the female interrogator is say look you've come in here you knew you were going to feel it you basically tried it i don't know why i told you that we would find out if you are guilty or not but there is no like oh well we're not sure this guy no no you're guilty tell us the truth tell us what happened talk about the here okay so um it was completely clear that you were not interested in testing i think you already know that um he did not pass the polygraph test right okay so now i need to talk about what actually happened i feel like you're probably ready to do that even to the point where chris starts trying to give a response and the guy starts saying no chris just stop stop stop i'm in control here we want to know and he takes that even further by taking this control i said look just breathe and even the taking control of it that extent they're taking control of chris watts now knows he's got nowhere to run nowhere to hide which is why he then asked for his father i didn't i didn't lie to you on that polygraph i promise chris i i try to stop it's time all right i'll stop for a minute take a deep breath i want you to take a deep breath right now and then towards the end before chris says can i get my father she uses the trigger the picture of the kids you know what i said before about in the neighbor's house like there's your kids look at your kids how can you do how can you lie about your kids tell me the truth now show us that but then she plants a seize now i don't believe she meant to do this but chris watts latches onto it and she says did shanann do something to the children do something to them did china hurt the children and then you responded why is this important i'll show you later on because this is the reason why he gives his father but take a look at this part and remember the female interrogator just putting that out there did shannan do something to the kids here you go did you do something to them no i don't know did you do something to them no i don't know i'm serious i have no clue that you wouldn't know this and then lord behold he's never mentioned it before he's never said anything to the interrogators never said anything to anybody else but the interrogator fed in that line his father comes in remember it doesn't matter who you are you're impostor syndrome you're probably the same person in front of your parents as he was he's a five-year-old boy or girl and that's what chris has got going on he actually obviously he's trying to broach a subject with his father but rather than tell him what he's done he feeds back the exact lane that he just heard five minutes before from the interrogator have a listen i'm gonna protect you what i want to protect her don't want to protect me i don't know what else to say so all of that structure all of that body language all of that interrogation techniques the body position the body posturing the movement between the interrogators and actual chris watts has resulted in him not quite telling the truth now because obviously that comes out later on but he did admit to kill him because of that structure put in place one of the biggest things about his conscious he knew he was guilty when you know you are guilty it's always hard to try to push back against that lie simply because you've got those autonomous body reactions unless you've got certain mental conditions then you're always going to know you're guilty and that just shines through which is why chris watts wasn't doing what he should have been doing and he was doing what he shouldn't have been doing so hopefully you've enjoyed that please subscribe below if you want to hear more about body language interrogation techniques questioning techniques if there's anything specific or more detailed you want to know from a technical perspective let me know below remember if you are interested in a further [ __ ] that this will be a shorter follow-up video to the psychological reasons based on psychometric profiling etc etc about what i think the trigger was that's gone on there between chris and shannon because it wasn't just chris that's even in the documentary loads of evidence to suggest that this party has got something to play then if i get 5000 likes below i will follow that but really but also leave your comments below i'm always interested in educating myself and what you've picked up and some of the stuff that i might have missed as well but yeah subscribe i hope you stick around but more important than any of this believe in bruce remember to be kind to yourselves and each other especially after some type of evocative emotional video on this type of topic i'm off to give my daughters a hug take care of yourselves
