just want to uh we just want to shed light you know shed light on your situation share light on yourself share light on your story you know uh this is a historic story you feel no right you could have went to CNN with that Mark you know you could have went to BT s you came to dju TV yeah I appreciate you man tell us uh tell us a little bit about yourself though Louie what side of Chicago are you from I'm from the south side see a lot of people they really think I'm from the old but I'm really from 62nd and Calumet okay but you know I'm still old block too but that's originated where I'm from where 60 seconds Calumet so you can Calumet Builders yeah right there's a lot a lot of people you know a lot of people from you know what I'm saying yeah and the building so when the buildings went down you had to migrate yeah that's when you moved to old block no I never once lived in Parkway okay I was just always around not staying at people's cribs in yeah but I never like lived in had my own place and then like that okay because I was looking at uh some pictures from back in the day I saw a lot of pictures with you and Chief Keef oh you know that's just that's what it was yeah but you know that was that was old pictures though so right man it's the past yeah but that's that's what I mean like back then you had you had a close relationship with Sosa back then I mean we was in the studio so I mean yeah I say but other than that he was around I can say that he's around but overall though what was it like though for yourself growing up in Inglewood uh both parents at home any seven and stuff like that what was your what was your uh household like I got I got six seven seveners but two of my daddy said and I got five on my mama's side and then I got a brother that's older than me well that's what's up man so when you was all coming up between 60 seconds and Calumet Parkway you say you never stayed at Parkway but you know that's all in the same area you know uh around what age did you like jump off the porch and get involved in the streets to be honest I can't even tell you that because it's like I just always been me yeah so I can't anybody like give you no exact answer like when I jumped off the porch because I always been in it yeah so like outside running around just bad as hell doing a little [ __ ] I was always one of them yeah I definitely was that's what's up man what's one of the uh what's one of your craziest childhood memories or childhood stores you won't mind sharing with the views uh because if you want from old block how you end up over there now you know they used to come to the building all type of stuff so it was last summer I ain't gonna say I don't know but I know you got the crazy story about the builders because then was the days I mean I ain't gonna lie it's this person's name c Mack he used to always throw up money and that was that was one of the members yeah you know back in the day if they get it they'll throw it up man he hit it so like on certain days he had threw it up and that was that was one of my favorite memories yeah so when he when he threw it out like what's the reaction from from everybody else everybody's scattering for the dollars nah he's he's throwing up more than dollars he got out of it he had got them and throw up 500. yeah or probably more than that depending on how you feel but it was never just no dollars because everybody ain't gonna be doing all that for no dollars so I got to do something that's worth it so when along along your journey that you meet came on I'm making one God damn it when he when he moved the whole block okay like I ain't really normal when he was over there in the war but when he moved to Oakland then that's when we got a closer relationship you remember the first time you met him that's crazy you just said that because I don't well I can't even remember the first time I met him yeah but overall though what was it that uh what was it about him that made you you know uh you know connect with him click with him I mean he he just who he is like it's just really unexplanatory like he did a lot of stuff from the heart and they really care about if you pay it back or whatever the case may be so and yeah he just took a like in me I don't know why he liked me how he liked me but on here be able to tell you yeah he definitely took a strong like it to you for sure you know what I'm saying like you could tell like he he kind of like if I was was proud of all his friends you know what I'm saying he was happy to Showcase all his friends you know and when you look at King Von's career you was there with him down there every step of the way so so so well you are real tight well obviously I'm assuming you are a real type before he even start rapping I mean it's crazy you say that because we was close but we weren't like we was we want to see Star rapping okay it's like once he starts rapping like for some reason we just got a little closer and that's that's what made him God damn it let me get a room out there at the crib so for yourself you you had to have seen the potential and it came on you know what I'm saying as a rapper what were some of the early signs when you knew man folks from the mess around and blow up I can't even lie to be honest when he said he was going to be a rapper I couldn't believe it and then like he just out the blue just like doing certain stuff then he got them going on shows with Dirk and his daughter from there and then that's where it started it so that's really when I stopped believing in them once I sing well he was actually on like he really taking the serious yeah that's when I started believing him yeah for sure and along his journey man I know he he needed help with some things you know because artists be having so much going on and when you coming up it ain't everything that you could do you know so what were some things that you was like helping find out with as far as you know his day-to-day I ain't gonna lie it's crazy you say that because I really can't say what I was helping him with because he got his own man and whatever he want to do that's what he was gonna do it that's that's that's that's a good point uh he definitely led the way you know uh so when you so let's talk about like when he dropped his first the first joint uh grandson right grandson volume one yeah uh that was the one that caught everybody attention then when he dropped LeBron James that's that's what caught the labels attention right yeah uh but tell us about you know when when tell us about the success like the Pete when things were going on you know the fun y'all was having stuff like that our we was having so much fun it was just it was just like a natural life like doing shows going on the road and stuff like that was just his life yeah which city which city are the child hit that you would never forget was one of them wild crazy toy stores it's crazy you said that cause I [ __ ] lost his life and I mean I guess I'm here to talk about it that's the only way I could think of it a lot of more people say they got shot but I'm just saying what up from what I know um for me it was a it was a gloomy day to start with how was Vaughn acting that day was he acting was he being himself or was he acting abnormal gonna always be yourself but I don't I don't know it's just it just seemed like a regular day I don't know if it seemed like a regular day to him but I thought it was just gonna be a regular day but have a deli it went sideways I almost lost my life two people I already lost they like so yeah and the reason why I asked that question is because uh I was seeing a lot of a lot of people saying like like Von was tweaking that day like he was he wasn't acting himself um I know he was excited because we had the album release party that night you know uh we were celebrating boss top birthday that night you know what I'm saying um and you know when we look back at the album release parties you standing right there behind her you feel so it so before the shooting occurred how far does your memory go like you remember all the way up until the point in which you got hit I ain't gonna lie to you I don't even know how I got hit that's it's crazy you say that because I really don't like remember a lot of stuff yeah all I can remember is what people was telling me and it's crazy you said that because my little sister she went all the way back and she said she sent me holding my pocket so it couldn't have been none of my pocket but money the reason I'm holding my pocket and she she said that's what happened she knew it was money and uh that's what she said right she says he knew all the money and uh cause I was hauling my pocket man that's crazy bro so I guess the million dollar question for real is do you know what made King Von walk up on quando Rondo and start punching them I mean like I said he gonna be who he gonna be and he already said when he catching what he was gonna do so at the end of the day I feel like somebody could have said something but Vaughn just being Vaughn yeah and to be honest that's really how I went how I went and wasn't stopping him if he had his mind made up on what he wanted to do the thing about it right and everybody knows that I already know that though okay because you know you know of course when it happened a lot of people were saying you know what his Entourage should have been doing you know what I'm saying they should have been the ones stuff like that but like you said if you know he gonna do what he want to do you know what I'm saying you survive a head shot thank God once you hit this once yeah that's it just once what you was gonna say I think a midday for sure for sure for sure um I understand you you was in a coma how long were you in a coma they said like they said like uh I think they said like two months or something something like that too much I didn't make it to the funeral at none so what's the world what's what what what the road to recovery been like you know trying to get yourself back physically mentally emotionally all right I ain't gonna lie I just been taking one day at a time going to my doctor's appointments that stuff like that that's really all I can do but it's been going all right though yeah that's what's up man I ain't gonna lie this this this this definitely is a this is like a miracle story you know especially being from the rack bro like for real um you know going back to them ATL days like you said man you you thought it was just a regular day like like who would have thought that would have happened you know especially in the eight you feel but yeah man so so so we we in recovery mode uh future goals and aspirations you know the the real get back you know what I'm saying getting ourselves back together and I ain't gonna lie I just want to get out of Chicago and go live a life somewhere else that's just how it is now what make you say what make you say leave Chicago knowing that you know obviously tragedy Could Happen anywhere it happened down in the a we thought he was moving away from the bus you know when we moved to the A h hey I ain't even trying to move it up just somewhere peaceful somewhere away yeah ducked off moving on bro it's been a lot of a lot of uh drama going on in oh block you know what I'm saying do you still keep in touch with any of the any other guys at o'blanc I mean I keep in touch with who keep in touch with me but someone yeah but you know I really don't try to get into all that every two months and that's just being honest yeah what keeps you going on a day-to-day basis and you know as you as you as you work on getting back to your normal self my mom my sister now probably a couple of guys and I can't give up on myself at that so of course me if ain't nobody is I am right you've been working on some new music how many years I don't I already know if I want to do that no more for real I'm still trying to see I don't really know yeah well you definitely got a story to tell bro whether it be through the music through interviews you know what I'm saying however which way you would like to you know present it but it's definitely worth you know what I'm saying it's definitely worth presenter once y'all over there smoking now I see it say best buds oh yeah that's his
