EVERYTHING I BOUGHT FOR MY NEW PUPPY 🐶💗 Puppy Haul Essentials

two things i really regret buying this looks like a rabbit harness this is excessive this is another thing my family thought i was crazy for buying i'm a poo picking princess hello everyone welcome back to my channel today's video is one all about my little sunny to be honest with you i wasn't really sure whether i was going to film this video or not for a few different reasons one i didn't know if anybody would be interested in this but so many of you have commented on my recent vlogs of sunny the video where i introduced sunny saying please do a video of everything you bought because either you're getting a puppy soon or you just find it interesting or you've had dogs for years so i decided i do want to share with you everything that i bought for her beforehand obviously we've been in lockdown so i spent my lockdown researching every single item on amazon everything i bought had the best reviews i could find for the best price i haven't bought anything that is particularly expensive but i also haven't bought the cheapest of the cheap all the time i guess i've kind of bought mid-range the second reason why i was hesitant to film this video is because this is going to be excessive and i don't want you to worry if you're getting a puppy soon because you do not need to buy all this stuff i am a massive overthinker i think about every possible situation that could happen and i want to feel prepared for that but by no means do you need all of this stuff so like i said please don't let this video panic you go with my mum's advice instead she said to me han if you're getting a dog all it needs is a bowl a lead and love but if you are interested in seeing everything that i bought for my little pup this is the video for you my friends i feel like it's gonna be a long one so let's get started and if you didn't know here is the little princess herself hi her name is sunny she's a cavapoo she's now how old are you 11 weeks old wow you're such a big girl she was just having a nap so i'm gonna put her back down oh big yawn i'm gonna put time frames in the description down below for like the food section the grooming section so if there's a particular category you're interested in finding out about have a look in the description down below and you can skip to that time i think a good place to start is with the absolute essentials in my opinion so i'm gonna start with the real basic items of everything i've found i needed for a puppy i'm not going to include the prices in this video because some of you guys might be watching this from other countries so there's not much point in me saying the price of every single thing however i have created an amazon shop front so there's a little section of my dog essentials everything in this video is going to be linked over there so one of the most important things that i've found is beds for little sunny so i actually bought her a couple of different beds the first one was to go in our lounge living room so this is from silent night it's got a nice fluffy pillow but you can turn it over as well it's quilted on the other side however this pillow is too big for her when she first came home she couldn't get onto the bed because it was too high up so we don't use the pillow yet what we use is the base and a doggy blanket another thing that i got on amazon has proved to be really helpful so that's what her bed looks like and she loves it the other bed i got for her is one that was a lot cheaper it's a lot smaller but this one also has a reversible pillow it's pink one side gray on the other and this one we actually keep in her little like penned off area it was originally to go in her crate i thought so because we are crate training but then i saw that you shouldn't leave a bed in a puppy's crate because they can chew through it and swallow the stuff in so she doesn't have this in her crate right now but when she gets a little bit older this one probably will go into her crate at night instead i'm gonna quickly insert a little clip of me talking you through her crate and everything inside that okay so first of all this is sunny's little bedroom so this is our utility room and this is a little baby gate that i bought for her i could not recommend this enough it's proved to be so handy when we go out and about we leave her just in this little area and there's nothing that she can hurt herself on nothing she can chew and obviously normal baby gates have the gaps through the bars whereas this doesn't so there's no way she can get stuck in it either and then this is her crate so this is a 24 inch crate i also bought this crate cover because i heard that it helps them feel more secure and a little bit more enclosed and she absolutely loves her crate i don't think she would like it as much if it was all open so i would highly recommend getting a crate cover first of all the lining is this vet fleece if you've never heard of vet fleece get to know so it's like this little mat and the underside of it is hard and basically if puppies wee on this it soaks through to the bottom so that it doesn't stay wet on the top so if your puppy like weed in the night it wouldn't be sleeping in its own wee pretty much then this is her favorite blanket this is a furry baby blanket this is lamy we love lammy he is actually an essential i've seen mixed reviews on these i've seen that some puppies chew them and then can swallow the stuff in which is obviously really dangerous we were advised by a trainer to have sunny for a day and by the night time we would know whether she's a chewer or not we took it to the breeder when we bought her home and we had it in the car with her this basically has a little heartbeat so underneath it has a zip and inside here this is what the heart looks like so if you just press that then it vibrates as if it's a heartbeat this is a little toy that was given to us from her breeder it has the scent of her litter mates on it we have washed it since because it did smell really bad this is a toy that i'll talk to you about a little bit later we do put a puppy pad in there to be honest we put that in there mostly because it's a lot cooler for her to lay on that than it is for the vet fleece and it is quite hot at the minute she has never ever weed or pooted her crate because dogs don't really like to wheel poo where they sleep this is her little water bowl again i've heard some people say that you shouldn't give them water in the crate because they'll need a weave she doesn't drink loads during the night anyway and i prefer the thought of leaving water for her blankets blankets blankets i've showed you her two main blankets the first white one with the paw prints and then the furry baby but i also bought a couple of baby blankets because dog blankets are so expensive i do see why because they are good quality but i also thought i know i'm going to need a lot of blankets and i don't want to be spending 15 quid on each one so i bought a pack of two baby blankets i think they were like four pounds training pads now sonny's not really much of a training pad user she has no interest in them she prefers to lie down on it i think it just depends how your puppy is raised by the breeder while we're having the toilet talk poo bags i bought this box on amazon of these biodegradable poo bags i think this is a pack of 500. two things i really regret buying a poo scoop i underestimated myself i thought there is no way i'm gonna be able to pick up a dog poo it's gonna make me heave i haven't used it once waste of money but it is a good idea if the thought of poo is putting you off getting a puppy and then the other thing this is excessive this poo scoop i really underestimated myself so this one is like an arm-length one you haven't even got to go near the poo you just pull the lever it opens closes around the poo and you pick it up and put it in the bin again haven't used it i'm a poo picking princess i'm a first-time dog owner sonny is my very first pet so i did buy a couple of books beforehand the first is the cavapoo handbook they have these on amazon for loads of different breeds to be honest with you it was really helpful when i went to go and choose sunny because there is a section on things to look out for health-wise to check the puppy over and we did use that section but the other book that i have found really helpful is easy peasy puppy squeezy this is five pounds on amazon i really like the way it's written it's really easy to read and it's also got different sections that i think will be really helpful in the future oh i guess this should have kind of been in the bed section but i also got her a cool mat this basically is like a mat filled with gel and when she lays on it or even if you lay on it put your feet on it the pressure makes the mat cool okay next up we have the food section so the bowls that i went for for sunny are these ones they do have metal stainless steel bowls in them at first she didn't like the stainless steel bowls and we thought it was because she was scared of them i actually think it was because she didn't like the food we have changed her food now i've heard cavapoo's can be quite fussy she's definitely proving that also this has kept our floor really clean so i'd really recommend this i also picked up a snuffle mat this is not needed i've only really introduced this to her in the past week mostly to keep her quiet because she is eating her food fine now that we've changed it basically you just hide bits of food or bits of chicken or whatever inside the mat and she has to use her little noggin to find them lickymat lickymat lickymap she loves this you can spread their food onto it or you can spread cream cheese whatever you want that's safe for dogs you can spread on it and it takes them quite a while to eat it and then the other thing i bought is some silicone molds because i saw someone else making some frozen treats and i have made her the treats she doesn't love them i'm a little bit disappointed i used greek yogurt a little bit of banana and some of her peanut butter and i thought delicious i would love to eat that she's not a massive fan and then a portable water bottle now my family thought i was ridiculous for buying this but it has come in very handy any time we take her out in the car we take this with us treats have a couple of regrets with these treats so the first treats that i bought i actually bulk bought on amazon they're these coaches they're chicken flavored puppy treats from eight weeks up i bought a whole box of them to be fair it did work out a lot cheaper to do this i think there's like eight packs in here i also bought her a kong which you will see in a little while but i bought these to go inside at these kong snacks but to be honest with you i don't love giving these to her because one she really struggles to eat these out of the kong and two i don't know actually what's in it they just don't fill me with joy another excessive purchase i bought these cups for her food i was really worried about either overfeeding or under feeding her so these are really easy to measure like quarter of a cup which is currently in her bag of food third of a cup half a cup and you can just fill it up and you know exactly how much that you've put in there bowl would actually really recommend these food section complete the next section is going to be leads harnesses collars that kind of jazz i actually bought her a few different leads so the first one is the standard flexi lead i just got the plain black i also bought the poo bag attachment for underneath so if you open this up there's poo bags in there then i also bought just a plain pink lead this is from a brand called blueberry pet it's really nice quality it's plain pink it's got a metal clasp which i like because i heard that if they have a plastic clasp that can break and then your puppy like runs free and that terrifies me i then bought her this lead which as you can see still has the label on it this is a slip lead so she doesn't need a collar for this just slips over her head and then you can take her out i thought at night time when we take her out in the middle of the night she's gonna wander off around the garden we're not gonna be able to see where she is because it'll be dark so instead of having to put a collar on her and put a lead on her we can slip this over her head and take her out into the garden while she does a poo or whatever but she has been really good at night so she goes to bed at about midnight and we can generally see where she is then and then she doesn't wake up until around half six seven we haven't really needed this bit of a waste of money to be honest next up is her little collar so this one is also from blueberry pet it's in the same color as this lead i just thought that was cute i also have her name tag on here this is super cute i got this on etsy i'll also link this in the description down below i have recently seen that you shouldn't really have your pet's name on their tag and that you should just have your contact details but to be honest with you in the job that i do i'm constantly taking pictures and videos of her and obviously i can't have my phone number or my address online so instead she's got her name on the front i'd already had this made before i found out that info and on the back it just says i'm microchipped i am going to upgrade her collar as she gets a bit older but i didn't want to spend loads on a collar while she's so little because puppies grow fast so i've heard mine seems to be a bit slow at the minute i searched harnesses for a really long time i wanted a really comfortable one for her it all went a bit pee tongue just didn't go right for me so i ended up buying her this pink one which i do really like it's not the prettiest one it's okay it's like corduroy it's breathable mesh inside and it does feel comfortable for her i do like that it does also come with a little lead but i'm not gonna use that it feels really cheap to be honest i got this in a size small however most of her is fluff so this is huge on her it's also quite bulky for a little puppy i think maybe if you have a bigger breed maybe like a labrador or something this harness would be great because it does feel really comfy so i did actually have an emergency trip to pets at home and instead this looks like a rabbit harness but it's not it's sunny's and it fits her really well again it's on the smallest setting it's not my favorite one that was in there because i don't think it looks that comfortable as soon as she goes out of this she's going to be moving into this more comfortable one anyway but the main thing is is she doesn't mind wearing this i think because it's a lot less bulky than this one she doesn't even really notice that it's on most of the time which is great so her harness for now is this one okay then this lead is going to seem ridiculous it kind of is to be honest i bought a 30 meter training lead definitely bought this a bit prematurely because she can't even leave the house yet and i'm planning on using this when i take her to the park and practice recall so i can call her back and i know she won't completely run away forever you know how i mentioned me overthinking every situation that's why i bought this a super duper quick travel section the first thing i bought to go in the car is actually this car seat this bit straps around the headrest and it goes up against the back of the seat and then it's just like a little box pretty much it's padded it's really big way bigger than i thought it was going to be but when we go in the car with her we put this little bed in so it sits in there like that we also sometimes put a blanket in a couple of toys and then we also put this around the rest which is a little seat belt so it clips around like this it's a bit elasticated and then the metal clasp goes onto her collar and she's safe in there although around the collar doesn't feel the safest because if we had an accident i feel like it would hurt a little neck so i'm going to start wearing her harness in the car instead and clipping it to her harness i'm thinking of getting a soft crate to put in the back instead let me know your opinions or what you guys do with your dogs in the car sometimes i don't feel like this is the safest option i feel if she was in an enclosed space it would be safer i'm just learning as i go along the next section is grooming probably one of my favorite sections i have to say i really enjoy grooming you know when you're little and you have a little doll and you love looking after her and taking care of her that's what it feels like trying to get her used to it from a really young age from literally like a couple of days after we brought her home i started to brush her clean her ears clean her eyes and she's getting really good with it now she kind of just tolerates it she doesn't love it but she puts up with me oh i've just found some more poo bags these ones are in rolls so they look like this and they go into the um little thingy there so first of all for grooming the shampoo that i have chosen to go with i would highly recommend this it's from a brand called groom professional and it's in the scent baby fresh it smells like baby powder the smell lasts for ages i really feel like she's nice and clean after we use this it hasn't irritated her skin or anything like that and she smells incredible in fact i like the smell so much that i also bought the cologne so this is the green professional baby fresh dog perfume and i basically use this on her between washes i don't use this every day by any means i do a little spritz of this on her and also a little spritz of this onto her brush has the metal spikes this side and the softer brush this side really really handy i tend to use the metal side first to get out any knots she doesn't really get that knotty because i do brush her most days but then this side i think it just feels nice on her she likes it this is another thing i regret buying so it is this shower head now we planned to wash her in our like utility room sink just because we thought it would be an easier height so i bought this and it attaches to the tap and then it's like a shower head that you can use all over them but she is a little bit scared when she has a bath so we like to do as quick as possible instead we've just been using a jug of water obviously not like drenching it over her we're still very calm with it but we haven't used this it was a bit of a waste for us but something else that i don't regret buying are these grooming wipes i found that her head starts to look a little bit greasy after a few days because i think we're touching her head so much and other people touch her head so when it looks greasy i use one of these grooming wipes to go around her ears and everything because she's got long fur she genuinely looks a bit cleaner after i've done that also on her paws if she's a bit muddy they are earth friendly hypoallergenic and bamboo based then we have ipads and ear pads the ipads are okay they're a little bit dry i've heard that these do prevent tear stains and then these clean ear finger pads so these are basically this shape and it just goes on your finger and then you can clean in their ear obviously you don't dig around in their ear because that could be really bad for them and damage their ear canals but just the part that you can see sometimes if you've got a little bit of earwax you know happens to the best of us she doesn't like me doing that but i can't stand her looking dirty so she's gotta put up with it sorry sis this is another thing my family thought i was crazy for buying finger tooth brushes your finger goes in they come in a pack of 10. so far i've only used one i just keep washing it because i feel like it's a bit of a waste to just throw it away and toothpaste i know lots of people are going to think it's ridiculous and it kind of is i don't actually know whether you need to brush a dog's teeth or not but she doesn't mind me brushing her teeth so i think why not doesn't do any harm it's liver flavor so she's enjoying it also nail clippers now we haven't used these yet because we're terrified and obviously when they're young they go to the vets quite a lot so so far the vet has cut her nails once and i think they're going to cut her nails again tomorrow so we haven't needed to use them yet speaking of the vets i'll do a quick little medical section so this was actually recommended by our breeder pro colin i don't know why colin's so great but apparently we're pro collin a little bit tmi this stops them having diarrhea give them a bit of this and it'll firm up their poos glamorous and then the other thing is her wormer which was prescribed by her vet another thing in the grooming section a little doggie towel this is really handy it's like a microfiber towel specifically for your dog a couple of the corners have little hand pockets so you can put your hands in dry your doggy you're good to go sunny isn't the type of dog that i'm going to dress up each to their own if you want to dress your dog up absolutely fine no judgment i might put a little jumper on her in the winter if it's really cold or maybe a little raincoat or something i don't know but she's not going to be like wearing tutus and stuff but one thing i do think looks really cute on dogs is little hair bows oh hannah i didn't think you'd be that way but wait till you see these they're proper cute i've definitely bought too many so i started off by a multi-pack on amazon and i've come to learn that it's much harder to put an elastic on your dog's hair than i thought it would be i wish i didn't buy them and then i discovered charlie noodles on instagram they're all handmade in the uk so this is her gray one it's like a hair clip so it's not gonna pull at her fur so first of all i bought them in a size small got a gray one i got this cute little girly print i've got a pink spotty one i got a red spotty one i've got a peachy pink one i've got a burberry one and she's got a little party one so they're all in the size small the size small is massive on sunny right now it's such a shame but at least when she gets bigger she'll be able to wear them and then i saw that the girl actually bought outside extra small in a couple of bows so then i got her an extra small yellow one and an extra small pink one and i do fit her now put a little picture in of what she looks like wearing this they are so so cute and they're super affordable they're like two pound fifty each a couple more cute things that don't really have a category i bought these little um milestone cards you know like babies usually have bought some for my dog but these are personalized little cards hello my name is sunny sunny's first trip to the vets we've used that one already sonny's first bath we've also used that then the other cute thing i bought is a nightlight because i'm actually a very overprotective dog mum and i don't want her to be shut in the dark on her own because she does sleep downstairs in the kitchen in her crate so a little white nightlight i just got this from pound stretcher or poundland something like that this has been such a long video but the final section is the toy section woohoo so i keep her toys in a little box i actually bought these storage boxes on amazon these came in a pack of two so all the stuff i've just showed you was in this box they're really spacious all of that stuff pretty much fits in here this one is for her toys so most of her toys i bought on amazon in multi-packs because they're such good value for money and i heard that one of the most important things when getting a puppy is to give them different textures to chew on because then they won't chew your furniture and stuff so i massively took that into consideration when getting her toys and so far all our furniture has stayed intact first of all we have the cord toys these came in a multi-pack all of this is going to be linked down below remember she really likes these things like that are a little bit too big for her at the minute but oh the carrot is a new one she likes that then she has the soft toys so she's got an ice cream a banana star she hasn't found that one yet a lobster a watermelon they're super cute they all came in a pack together there's even more in here but i'm not going to show you all of them i also recently got her this silicone one from pet face again i got it on amazon she really likes this it's a nice like squidgy silicone she also has a few harder silicone ones like these this is a nylabone toy she really likes that this stays in her crate with her at night because there's no way she can damage herself on that but it stops her chewing her crate so she has that at night time these ones are her favorites they squeak i'm not going to squeak them right now because she is sleeping but she loves these i don't know what it is she just is obsessed with them i think this is like the highest rated dog toy on amazon madness got a little bee from pets at home she also loves this one this is another favorite ellie the elephant she loves that that's from pets at home too tennis balls this dog loves tennis balls but she can't fit it in her mouth so she just holds it by the fluff i did buy her some tiny tennis balls from pets at home look at the size difference but she's not interested in these because they're for puppies and she can't pull off the fluff typical this is her little kong how small is it it's so cute i am actually going to buy her the next size up when she gets a bit bigger because i get worried about this she's never going to swallow that but i still worry about it so yeah i also bought this toy from primark months before we got her me and my mum got it and said imagine if one day we had a little puppy she could play with this little did we know this would be as big as the puppy but yeah that is her toy box of all her different textures most of those toys to be honest with you i haven't given to her yet because i'm trying to save them when she gets bored of her toys or she stops playing with one in particular i'll switch it out to keep her interested in them she does not know the toy box exists yet which is great she just thinks she's got like five toys little does she know she's got a whole box i think that is everything if i've forgotten anything i will write it in the description down below but i'm pretty sure that is everything that i've got for this dog oh my gosh i bought an excessive amount but to be honest there's only a few things that i regret buying but like i said don't let this video panic you you do not need all of this stuff if you're gonna get a puppy like my mom said
