that illegal now the confusing part the very confusing part is the first part of the rule says if the batter interferes with the catcher the plate umpire shall call interference the batter is out and the ball dead no player may advance on such interference and all runners must return to the last base that was in the judgment of the umpire legally touched at the time of the interference so ozzy has to go back to first and the batter is out for interfering with the catcher on this throw the only problem where it gets really confusing is mike estabrook after making this call so layers out right so that's fine he called interference ozzy is being told that he's also out and he's like what and s brooke says yeah that's three outs now that's where you have confusion on top of confusion because he lost track of the count so he thought that solaire struck out and that was the third strike so that's an out meaning if he struck out and then interfered with the catcher then there has to be a punishment for interfering with the catcher on this play on the stolen base so the punishment would be the runners out as well because you can't punish the batter he's already out and now the runners out too for punishment for the interference does that make sense that's the rule that he's putting in place here so they tell ozzy this and they're going to explain it and so there's like okay i have no idea what just happened and ozzy's like what happened and then mookie betts comes and says yeah what's going on and then he lets him know and dave roberts is like i'm so confused but i'll take the double play i'm not gonna ask a single question so he tells him well he struck out so ozzie's out for the interference and mookie goes oh classic i have no idea how that would make sense but i'll act i think i got this man i think i don't know and they're trying to figure it out they're like we're going to figure this one out him and mickey's hey manny hey manny come here come here is this what happened and the umpire says 1-2 he goes back he's like yep it was one and two it's one and two count he goes back batter is out yeah so he goes back to first batters out there was only one out on the play and ozzy's like wait i go back and him and mook here like i guess so that makes sense he's like wait huh no that doesn't make sense what's going on and you can talk to the umpire and he's going to ask him like wait so i go back to first i don't get second base it called out though he's like cause what because i had no idea i was just running i didn't know mookie's like this and then they tell him no no no no and he's he probably tells him right there no the batter's out for interference like whoa what and then movie's like oh on the back swing on the back swing and ozzie's like oh or he leaned into the catcher and he's like yeah so he's out they're like why would i have been out and so there's like okay so i don't get to continue the at-bat i'm still out and muncie's like man i got no idea don't ask me and i have no idea yeah i mean i was wild he's like what's going on here so there you go we've all learned a little bit we're all touch smarter you can take this knowledge you The more I watch the replay, the more convinced I am that Soler didn’t interfere with the throw.

Pretty huge call, too. Took us from a situation with about a 65% chance of scoring a run to one where we had about an 78% chance of not scoring.
