Every WWE Return in 2022 so Far

as soon as 2022 started we started seeing wrestlers from wwe's past return to the company at the day one event the miz at edge went one on one after weeks of verbal and physical attacks between them the a-lister was accompanied by his wife maurice and she of course did much more than just stand and watch the match however edge is also a married man and his wife beth phoenix made her wwe return during the day 1 match phoenix scared off maurice which distracted miz and gave edge the opportunity he needed to finish the match with an ending like that you knew this feud wasn't going to end there the couple spent the next several weeks going after one another ultimately resulting in a tag team match at the royal rumble miz and maurice weren't pushovers but they could not stop the true power couple of wwe edge and beth won the match putting an end to this rivalry for good at the 2021 extreme rules alexa bliss not only lost the match but she also had her doll lily destroyed by charlotte flair after that night bliss would disappear from wwe however on january 10th 2022 alexa would return we would see her visiting with a therapist but unfortunately it didn't go too well since then alexa bliss has continued to be seen in therapy sessions she seems to be getting better but i think they just need to call dr shelby the same week alexa bliss returned we got another surprise on smackdown wwe hall of famer lita made a return on the blue show she revealed that she wanted to get back into the ring one last time and announced she'd be entering the women's royal rumble this seemed to ruffle the feathers of the smackdown women's champion charlotte flair as she interrupted leeda's announcement flair warned lita about competing again but lita wasn't phased in fact lita gave charlotte a little taste of what she could do we'll talk about lida's appearance in the royal rumble in a bed the next week we got two small but pretty cool returns backstage eric bischoff was giving adam pierce advice on leading smackdown pierce put what he learned to use right away and set up a match between sony devel and her rival naomi also backstage rick boogs and shinsei nakamura bumped into jeff jarrett and introduced themselves to the hall of famer also on the show we saw wwe legend summer rae make a return who was joining lena in the royal rumble speaking of which the royal rumble is where he witnessed a ton of returns the first surprise of the night came right away as molina made her wwe return as the number two entrant in the women's royal rumble everyone was so excited to see her that even the number one entry sasha banks had to smile not only was molina accompanied by the paparazzi but she even did her signature splits on the reigning friend unfortunately molina was eliminated in about a minute by sasha banks and if that wasn't bad enough the boss also mocked molina's flexibility luckily we wouldn't have to wait long to see another wwe veteran as kelly kelly entered the women's rumble at number 4. the blonde bombshell did manage to get some offense then but when she tried to eliminate sasha banks kelly put herself in a bad position and the boss ended up eliminating her instead after a while we saw another veteran of the women's division make a return michelle mccool the former women's champion went into the ring and took charge she hit her finisher the faith breaker delivered a massive big boot and even managed to get an elimination mccool was pretty impressive as she lasted longer than many of the other surprise returns in the women's royal rumble shortly after mccool's return things got funky as cameron who we haven't seen in wwe in nearly six years made her return the former funkadactyl made an immediate impact but her rampage came to an abrupt stopped and sony devel who had been chilling at the announcer's table ran in and eliminated cameron luckily naomi came out shortly after and got revenge for her funkadactyl sister at number 18 we got a different type of return ivory came out and was wearing her right to censor attire the wwe hall of famer walked towards the ring with the microphone in hand and shared how disgusted she was with the women in the ring ria ripley did not care what ivory had to say and she picked up the rtc member and threw her out of the ring the entire time this was happening ivory continued to shout into the microphone which was really funny right after ivory a woman from a different era made her return brie bella's awful auto-tuned music started playing as she ran into the ring luckily we didn't have to listen to bree's music for long as the next entrant soon came out the 20th entrant mickie james rushed towards the ring and not only was her impact wrestling theme song playing but she was also wearing the impact women's championship around her waist james old rival michelle mccool immediately went after her and the two legends started fighting mickie james proved to be the better woman as she was able to get mccool over the top rope and eliminate her while mickey continued fighting the reign alicia foxx made her return the first african-american demons champion used her experience to get some offense in but it was soon interrupted by summer rae to raise credit she brought a lot of energy to the rumble and managed to fight off natalya unfortunately charlotte flair eventually got involved and that's about the end for the legendary summer rae shortly after that the second bella twin came to join her sister nikki bella entered the royal rumble with a louder reaction from the fans nicki brought the pain and soon reunited with brie to dish out even more it looked like they were going to join up with alicia fox 2 but the bella twins weren't feeling it and eliminated her unfortunately for the bellas their plans were almost foiled by the 25th entrant sarah logan the former riot squad member used her viking-like strength to decimate the bella army sadly for logan two against one is always better and nicki and brie got sarah out of the ring and eliminated her the bella twins didn't have much time to celebrate as lita made her in-ring wwe return once she got inside the ropes the former team extreme member began fighting with her old rival mickie james both women put up a good fight but lito was able to get the upper hand and remove james from the ring lita kept holding her own and even got an opportunity to hit the twist of fate unfortunately the numbers are just too much and lita literally got the boot and was eliminated after leta a superhero joined the match mighty molly made a heroic entrance but before she got into the ring she was attacked by nikki ash nikki resembling more of a super villain beat up molly before throwing her into the ring mighty molly continued to be berated by nikki ash until nicki finally eliminated her after that there was one more surprise or turn in the women's royal rumble the buzzers sounded for number 28 and out came ronda rousey the baddest woman on the planet took charge as soon as she got into the ring interestingly ronda wasn't all about brute strength she cleverly got the fellow twins to fight each other leading debris eliminating nicki with one bella down it was easy for rousey to eliminate the other rowdy ronda rousey kept playing smart which allowed her to make to the final four and then the final two it was down to ronda and charlotte and rousey's reflexes allowed her to dodge a big boot and throw flair over the top rope and eliminate her not only did ronda rousey make her wwe return but she also earned herself a championship match at wrestlemania on the men's royal rumble it wouldn't be until entry number 21 that we saw a wrestler return drew mcintyre who had been out for about a month with an injury made his comeback his first order of business was to take out the men who injured him happy corbin and madcap moss after the scottish warrior took care of him mcintyre focused on winning the royal rumble a few entries later someone no one expected came out bad bunny ran down the aisle and made his return to wwe even though he isn't technically a wrestler bunny held his own and looked impressive he hit matt riddle with a canadian destroyer and actually eliminated sheamus entirely on his own on top of that bunny and rey mysterio teamed up to eliminate dolph ziggler after the bunny came the money shane mcmahon hustled into the rumble and dished out his signature punches they did the trick and ching was able to eliminate kevin owens drew mcintyre bad bunny and shane managed to stay in the ring but the 30th entrant had other plans the beast brock lesnar came in and wiped everyone out first he took off bunny with an f5 and eliminated him then lester took shane mcmahon out of the ring drew mcintyre was the last man lesnar needed to eliminate and while he put up a valiant effort there was no stopping brock lesnar quickly decided that he would face the universal champion roman reigns at wrestlemania on the smackdown after the royal rumble the tribal chief in the bloodline came out and didn't talk too highly of brock lesnar their belittling of rock came to an end when goldberg's music started playing and the hall of famer came out and made his return goldberg grabbed a mic and told reigns that he was coming for him and the universal championship this means goldberg and roman reigns will fight each other for the first time at elimination chamber hopefully it's not like when undertaker and goldberg wrestle because taker nearly died in that match to see what happened watch the video on screen
