ESTHER'S SURPRISE 18TH BIRTHDAY PARTY : Adventuring Family of 11

[Applause] [Music] okay [Music] uh hello welcome to another day at the norps today is very fun tomorrow is esther's 18th birthday and she was has been like nervous and not unsure about like what kind of birthday party she wanted to have and so we just decided to throw her a surprise birthday party and if you really want to surprise someone you do it before their birthday so this evening at 7 p.m we are throwing esther a surprise birthday party and so right now we're going first the local missionaries that are doing the same thing that elijah and daniel are doing in different places one of their bikes lost apart and so we're going to pick them up to help them get that part that they need because they don't have a car and then we're gonna go and grab balloons and decorations and food for tonight's party which then we'll then have to kind of put away because esther's gonna come home from work and then head out with her friends we enlisted the help of one of esther's closest friends ava and they are going out for a photo shoot because we knew that you know it's hot today that if we got esther out of the house she might just be wearing like an old t-shirt or you know old raggedy t-shirt and some old shorts or something and that would be kind of a bummer to show up to your 18th birthday party like that so we needed an excuse for her to put on some nicer clothes and try to look a little more put together and so that's what ava came up with which is great so they're going to be gone and bring her home at seven andrew did all the invitations and let everybody know where they should park and all that good stuff and um yeah so have we ever done our surprise party in our family no i think so so this will be the first we're excited or i did notice that it was like kind of felt loose like the wheel and then i didn't really register like oh maybe there's actually something going on here hey elders hey i hope you don't mind being on camera oh no worries no worries so why don't you introduce yourself and tell everybody where you're from you grab that door one more time for me didn't quite get close i am elder anderson i am from nephi utah nifa utah just a little small town of about 6 000 people so awesome and i'm elder gray from cedar city utah both from utah and uh elder gray you're going home to your family in just a matter of weeks right at this point yes but you really spend a lot of your time doing service yeah what kind of service do you do a lot of moving a lot of moving i've done a lot of woodwork gardens what else have i done yeah just lifting heavy stuff you've been a lot of moving for us even i think that's the most uh most service i ever do is just moving yeah a lot of people so and then with covert regulations that are finally loosening before that you were doing a lot online too right yes and people still can if they want to talk to missionaries but they can do it just on the computer yeah if they go to church of jesuschrist.org is that right yeah then there's also come unto christ.org yeah that's a good one right come into christ.org and then usually usually now we've got facebook pages pretty much throughout the country and the world as well both of them all start with come under christ so if you search up come with christ there and then your town yeah awesome okay well let's go see if we can get your bike fixed yeah sweet how much did that cost five bucks okay that's a five replacement just for a little just a little bit awesome okay okay well enjoy your hot bike ride your next cool appointment awesome see you guys we're now at target and since we're fully vaccinated in our state you're allowed to not wear masks pretty sweet which is super sweet um so i'm thinking of getting getting her a little crown to wear that's kind of fun that is fun and some a big 18 balloon or a one and eight really some poppers or whatever you call them what is that these are like the it'll throw confetti when she walks in oh that sounds like a mess um confetti poppers is there anything that's cleaner silly string is even worse hmm all right what about some streamers of some kind these are kind of cool this sort of thing okay totally those are cute oops that uh could hang that maybe from there let me see they have a happy sweet 16 well they have a happy 18. man we came also to get the bunch of balloons like to fill up with air but all they have are the water balloon variety that's that's not gonna work okay so we finished up over target and couldn't really find everything we needed so now we're here at walmart and they had these that's in particular what we couldn't find this is what we're looking for we've spent all this time looking for balloons that would save us time blowing up that we've probably spent more time looking for the the balloons that we would've spent blowing them up with our you know manually but that's okay because there's actually a couple other things that we're going to try to find here um i think we're trying to find some light some like hanging lights and there's one other thing i can't remember oh it's like italian soda like syrup stuff so you like any of these megan no no we're hoping for some tiny cheapish string lights that would be just beautiful maybe not we might have to try to use what we have all they had were balloons at walmart so now we're at costco this has been quite a journey for both of us we've changed a lot we've laughed a lot we cried a little bit but really we've learned some life lessons along the way so it's good we made it got all the goodies plus some stuff we need some beach towels so i'm fed too so this should be a happening awesome party right oh maybe yeah in the back home [Music] we're making these street taco things because we need a quick and easy meal but then we're going to start setting up for the park oh is it dinner she's coming back in about an hour and 45 minutes so we gotta hurry here okay so eve is organizing these cups can you help her do that so it goes a little faster she got these cups out now it's all messy we just blew up this the 18 mike is getting the lights and i am going to start studying snack table all right so it's time to blow up the no no no put it we're going to put them all in here you should probably do yeah do that first one so we're gonna put the balloon things in here this is like so cool because it blows them all up at once it's the greatest invention possibly since the wheel because if you want a lot of balloons you don't want to blow your lungs out or pass out this is the way to do it okay it's okay just uh keep it put them all in there is that all of them or we should go we got one left that's okay we can do a single okay they're all in nope the air only comes out of this one because it okay just check it out here we go should we hold them in this is going to be cool um no i don't think we need to hold them in let's hope they're in let's try it here we go oh yeah there it goes i think you you have to turn it off [Applause] away from the wall a little bit they're filling up okay what do you think you think they're full enough yeah yeah okay i gotta get in here hit the button they're not gonna blow up okay now all you gotta do is pull them off oh awesome okay you gotta be don't try to pop them so no no pulling from the bottom pull them from the bottom just well yeah we're just we're pulling it off the thing you have to actually cut them off their main well okay so you sort of peel them off but what i think we should do is just go through and cut these off cut them off like right here careful so we need to get some scissors and cut them off the tubes okay and then we're gonna the plan is watch out here watch out what's the plan the plan is we're gonna we're gonna throw him off down here on esther when she comes in yay so let's see how that works so andrew kelena and lex are getting the poppers ready we got some lights up that'll look pretty once the party starts we've got some food over there the boys are doing the balloons upstairs that will come raining down when she arrives let's see if this works so what i want to do is actually tie this didn't show up we should put one of the poppers inside there when so when it's all the confetti in there so when you drop it confetti falls too oh well you just have someone with the popper up here and pop it that's true i guess so so you're just gonna stand here for uh 30 minutes yeah we can kind of let it down but that's that's that's all we need one person to just hold it and just go whoop like that i need someone or maybe choose people yeah peter and actually you each get a corner when it's time and you both just go no actually no you're both gonna do it your belt's gonna do it also that way you can both have a chance yeah it's okay it's gonna fall out right now but you wanna kind of hold this tight and then when it's time you just like make a slide keep it tight and then you're just gonna kind of you can just yeah pull it and just throw it over now it's actually i think your weather time okay wait wait so how are we gonna do it really again so i think that's fine you guys just set these down it's okay they can kind of roll out but just before she comes it'll um yeah okay perfect can i wait could should someone have a popper up here sure okay so right now we're doing like a test run to see how this goes they're all hiding there because they're trying to get the best that was like really weird so like whatever whatever or whatever see how far away you are though what are some weird photography people don't care okay that didn't work i thought you were asking i'm like [Music] okay everyone over here and you got to be really loud it's got to be like one big surprise right half hour later surprise much better much better okay so she's uh 11 minutes away 10 minutes away everyone's waiting to go esther is turning 81 years old so all pretty excited about that what are you doing you're tracking the location i'm tracking your locations seven minutes away so we had everybody park around the corner so she won't suspect at all we didn't even clean up the porch so definitely no suspicions aroused okay everybody's getting into place okay well no he doesn't need to we're all here and him running he doesn't need to quiet and don't look at them okay be so quiet where's the remote i can't start the music there it is dad you're the light guy okay are they here okay okay that's fine that's fine there you have it hey esther hey [Music] [Applause] all right [Music] [Applause] oh thank you come on in everybody [Music] [Music] oh happy birthday to you happy birthday to you [Music] [Applause] okay party continues [Music] [Applause] [Music] what's up [Music] [Laughter] [Music] do we then we gotta go right now so we let these kids come downstairs we were all upstairs all the movie the adults and the little ones but we all came down and just started eating all the the all the queso basically and some of the sodas [Music] [Music] what is it mate um for some reason megan wants to keep these confetti things i don't really know like a true saber this is like like we're in the great depression and you have to keep all your beautiful and i love yeah and this is like dave got married and had a family okay it is everywhere i won't grant you that you're older now though you don't do that kind of thing right yeah right [Music] do you want me to do some sweeping um well we don't have to keep all of it once i have a bag full of gold i feel like um i feel like um scrooge mcduck memory is this big pile oh you're right yeah i don't know so we're letting the kids have a little bit of soda it's a little bit late but it's like it's like izzy soda so it's like healthy sugar it's all natural all cleaned up these kids have been losing their winter fur albus oh is that him well no this is alive [Music] okay okay the 81st birthday party is all over yeah over 18 guys oh i'm sorry 81. well you're doing pretty good for 81. everyone went home right except for those who live here they're already here she was like bye esther [Music] no esther stays too bad that's it yeah end of a party got a lot of it cleaned up but not in here because this was where everybody was hanging out [Music] okay i think we're gonna end the video there let's end it now it's over tomorrow's esther's actual birthday got her breakfast she wanted yogurt and berries and granola so we got that little parfait kids are all upstairs kind of getting ready for bed it was a fun part of the thing yeah that's your time it was great she expected it all which was fun it was fun for her to then go through it all and see all the little things that were said and done that were kind of strange and suddenly made sense we fooled her and then um good night and then uh we're gonna go for a little hike to the waterfall tomorrow that's what she requested so so thanks for coming along
