[Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] i've just had a parcel come through the door let's see what we've got so yeah we got a shipment from redstone's next day delivery of course and uh yeah let's see what we've got there we go so yeah we've got the garrett apex multi-frequency so what's in the box we've got a garrett [Music] apex a couple of free taps from uh regtons very kind of them apex pack we've got the headphones [Music] we've got the stem [Music] yeah i'm going to put this all together i'll come back to you there we go put it all together actually took me about two minutes if that you just screw the coil on put the cable in and that's it jump done and get this on charge take it for a spin yeah cool [Music] greetings and welcome to the derbyshire dales and i'm back out on the friendly sheep field although there's no sheep about today you might notice i've got a new cap i've also got a brand new machine i've got the garrett ace apex which i'm going to be debuting today um i got it from regtons so let's just see see what i can find with it yep ever so simple to use so just going to switch it on with the power button literally boots up in about two seconds scroll through your setting here your programs you've got zero which is a bit like pro zero on the at pro but probably not as good you've got coins us coins jewelry relics and custom straightforward if you want to go into your menu press the menu button then you can alter the sensitivity the volume iron volume what frequency you want and what channel you want to use and that's pretty much it really that's your pinpointer button you hold that down ground balance you want to ground balance it you hold that down and pump it and you can switch your iron audio on or off i prefer it off yeah jose gordon today i'm going to be using it in coins because that's what i like to find yep so let's crack on so i'm just going to show you what some signals sound like and what numbers to give off i've got a tiny little book clasp down here look [Music] mid 50s pick that up five six inches no problem then we've got a george six half penny look at that i can pick that up a good nine ten inch maybe we've got a george the fifth big penny big signal that look at that we're picking that up all the way up there 12 inch maybe next up we've got a 50 silver two shilling [Music] sounds good again it's picking it up really well next up we've got a gothic flooring big silver coin that sounds sweet solid 90. again you're picking that up at 10 or 12 inch no problem and next up we've got george the fifth half crown another big silver coin look at that good so this is my first target pretty soon this is gonna be iron but i'm gonna dig it you've got an iron grunt in there but there's a good sound there high 70s low 80s let's have a look i've got it out it sounds nice now it's out it must be iron around here well look what i've got it's a big chunk of a crotal bell i've hit it with my spade as well unfortunately dug in the wrong place imagine if that was whole what the first vine that would have been yeah cool big chunk of crotal bell well that's turned the iron audio off because it's just been grunting everything and this is my next target this is my next target gonna have a look at this solid 76 77 well i've got it out it's in this still coming up as a 76. what have we got oh no way it's a coin we've got a big penny george the fifth i'll spin you around so it looks like uh similar numbers to other garrett machines 80 pro 76 was usually a big penny like that there's your imprint yeah first coin of the day let's carry on first coin with the garrett ace apex had to be a george fifth big penny didn't it this is my next target just there 66 pretty solid let's have a look again open it up it's in there in the veil what do we have this time it's looking like a horse harness loop nothing exciting but it means there's old stuff in here you find stuff like that i've had plenty of those out these fields yeah let's carry on this one's a little bit lower it's coming in 50s low 50s so it could be small lead maybe or cupro couponicle coins let's have a look well again it's still in the bale solid 53 still do we and it's a small piece of lead i thought it would be cool can you hear the church bells right as i've got a signal so if you guys remember but last time in summer i was here i saw a lady walking a cat over there and that's also where the lancaster bomber flew over when i was digging up that um jetting which is cool right let's see what we've gotten solid 77 78 big penny again maybe let's have a look well i opened it up that's the site i was greeted with fantastic imprint it's got to be a big penny but who is it is it an edward or is it a george i can see it just down there it's looking very brown and it's george fifth again my boy that's a funny color into look how brown it is they're normally green yeah that's cool let's carry on well that's where i just had the big penny from just there i've got another signal just here it doesn't sound quite as good numbers are a bit erratic but i'm still gonna have a look well i've opened it up and that signal has now disappeared which makes me believe that it might well have been iron see a little bit of brown just there oh yeah look we got a big dollop of vine come on well there's something you don't see every day we've got water coming up out of the ground [Music] here's my next target 70s 80s bit all over the place again could be ironed let's have a look well i thought it might be iron and there we go look at that right big chunk well i'm just making way up this hedge row and i just spotted something out of the car in my eye in this bush look at that i've got an old bottle or at least a piece of one can i reach that oh yeah look at that it's complete [Music] that's cool luke would love that i'm gonna go and clean this i'll come back to you well i thought this would be as good as place as any give this a little wash absolutely no idea how old this is it's really cool proper thick glass nice freezing [Music] yeah i'm to take that home with me let me rucksack a little bit chipped on there unfortunately let's say down there sk ske y4 i wonder what it's from [Music] so i'm just going to stop for five minutes have a quick brew um it's quite warm actually nice spring day today what are we uh mid march um yeah i'm having a good time i've had a few coins a couple of bits and bobs um not really dug a great deal of trash a couple of bits of iron just learning this machine just see how we get on with it so yeah i'll see you in five well this is my first target in ages just about there 76 77 could be a big penny again let's have a goose well actually i went back over the target again and the signal was quite long um so i changed my mind about it being a coin and i've opened her up i've got a big old chunk of something a bit of tap or something a brass scrap yeah well this is my next target i didn't record the signal it was low 50s i thought it was going to be a bit of junk but i've got a little clasp off something and it's got a little pattern on it nothing exciting but still it's another find some people ask me where i get my finds pouch from well this is the one i use it's brilliant you can fit everything in there one little water spray in there got me pinpointed there all my fines and junk inside it's absolutely ideal that is cost me about 18 quid off ebay definitely recommend getting one of those if you're a serious detectorist well i make that food time and today what have we got well i've got some leftover sandwiches from sarah's uh afternoon tea yesterday got a little sausage roll in there a bit of quiche there's scotch egg i got some crisps and i got a little biscuit for afterwards there's a little beer in there as well this is my next signal i've already dug it it's coming up all over the place really mid-tones i opened it up and this is what i found there's something green and crusty on its edge just there well there's a coin or a button oh it's a coin look crusty old william iii i reckon that not very good condition look how thick it is so i can tell it's william what i could be wrong but it's a coin in it well i've got another signal right next to where i had that other coin very similar just there so i think i've got another one i'm gonna do a live dig on this so it's just about there somewhere you dig a slightly bigger hole just to make sure has to be the same as before i reckon let's get the pinpointer in definitely something in there quite good depth maybe four or five inches if not more it's got to be on the spade oh there we go other butchers at that i've got another one exactly the same probably william the third again yeah cool this is my next target it was coming in 70s a bit all over 60s 70s opened it up and this is what i found it's looking like there's been an imprint in there to me that's a coin imprint oh we're not gonna know oh there we go we've got a big penny look george fifth again it's the third one of those are fine today big penny yeah i don't mind that i'll take that all day another coin okay this is my next target this one does sound good mid 80s to high 80s i'm going to do a live dig on this one hurricane it's going to be george the third half penny i've lost my little counter thing this week so i'm about to make it a little x x marks the spot that's a very small hole i've not hit it definitely been something in there gray soil there we go look at that huge a big georgia third big penny i think this is the uh the hillside i've had four or five big georgia third coins off and it's got to be worth looking might be some silver on here you never know but yeah cool take that this is my next signal where are we just there it's a bit all over the place again 60s 70s let's have a look well i've opened it up so if you guys can see that but just down there it's looking like another big penny it's gonna be george fifth again oh no is it eddie edward the seventh mr baldy that'll be a very early 1900s can we get a date 1905 it looks like or six yeah cool another coin just want to give a special mention to uh history finders is a group on facebook i bought this off ebay about six months ago and it's a coin pod for putting all your fines in best thing i ever bought don't know how i managed to go metal detecting for five six years without one of these they're just absolutely brilliant um my only qualm was you can't fit big coins in there you know your george sir pennies cartwheels stuff like that so got in touch with the the guy selling them on ebay and lo and behold he sent me another one a bigger one free of charge um so yeah it was really really nice of him and this one is a little bit bigger and it fits all your big coins in look half crown in there gothic flooring all these two shillings obviously they didn't come with the pod but yeah i just wanted to uh to mention that every detectorist should have one of these absolutely brilliant so thank you very much to the history finders you can find them on ebay and facebook this is my next target uh it was coming in sort of 60s and 70s i reckon i've got a little coin half penny george the six mr side parting ship off penny 1940 i think i've clipped it come on well that's me and the apex done for the day it's not been too bad to be fair it started off really slow and i was thinking oh god um i don't know if i'm keen on this machine but then things started picking up i turned the iron audio off which got rid of all the grunts that would seem to be everywhere and started picking out some targets and yeah find a bunch of big pennies a couple of crusty georgians stuff like that yeah well i found more with my orx today possibly um but yeah i've quite enjoyed it first time with a new machine so yeah it's pretty it's been pretty good so we're i'm gonna go and do a little food shop go home put my feet up thanks very much for watching and i'll see you on the next [Music] one [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign just a quick round up so i've got the three george the fifth big pennies i've got a george the six half penny edward the seventh big penny a couple of those william the third half pennies that's what i think they are big george the third penny and that's a clasp a little tiny clasp got a little bit of detail on there look nice pattern um we've got the big chunk of uh croto bell that would have been awesome if it was if it was whole but never mind yeah i did think that was a medieval horse honestly but i don't think it is yeah as for the the as for the apex well yeah i really enjoyed using it was slow going at first and i didn't like the tones but you never deal with a new machine and i can see it definitely growing on me um so yeah i'll have to keep on keep at it and see what else i can find with it right nice one cheers see you later [Music] supporting the old buddy the southern searchly friend ash
